Summary
=======
I guess the traditional thing to do at the end of summer is to write
about what you did. Well, I had a great summer this year so here are
some of the highlights. I have written individual stories about some of
these events if you want more details! This is not the usual “What I Did
This Past Summer” essay but I bet I would have gotten an A+ in school if
I had handed it in to some of my teachers!

Gosh, I can’t even begin to add up the hours I spent out on our deck
working on my suntan, reading and writing. The hot tub got quite a
workout too. Our family has never worn anything in the hot tub and I

Chapter 2 - Babysitting

Since my parents pay my college tuition and fees, plus a pretty nice
allowance, I don’t have to worry about holding down a job while at school
which makes it much easier to get my studies done and keep up my grades.
Alas, during the summer they expect me to do something on my own for
spending money even though if I ask my dad he always helps me out – he
can be such a push over if you ask him the right way!
Having no desire to be a waitress or work in the mall, I mostly baby-sit.
Don’t laugh, the pay is great (and in cash) and the hours aren’t so bad.
Most people in my neighborhood are pretty well off and are willing to pay
$8-10 an hour for a college girl to watch their kids. They feel more
secure with me than leaving their kids with some flaky fourteen year-old
barely out of grade school.
As I get paid in cash that means no taxes which makes the pay a LOT
better than what my friends make waitressing and clerking, plus they have
