SPOILERS...SPOILERS...SPOILERS...SPOILERS

    As I'm writing (BB 21:04 at the moment) it's occurred to me that someone may wonder exactly where and why I'm deviating from the source material. Or maybe I'm the only one? It's entirely possible.

    Anyway, for those who have never played the Bible Black Game or viewed the anime, this will at least clue you as to what's original and what isn't. Readers familiar with Bible Black may be scratching their heads in places, and this is my opportunity to explain myself. I have a lot of excuses.

    So here goes...


        Day One

    I took some liberties with characters and situations, but generally remained true to the original Bible Black story. Plot-wise, nothing really changed. The characters, I think, are better developed as they interact on a more personal level in places.

    Minase meeting Shiraki in the hallway is a change. In the source material, they meet just as Minase is about to enter the basement. I simply moved that meeting up and instead of warning Minase about the basement, I want readers to wonder what she was doing in the infirmary with Dr. Kitami.

    The whole Kitami sub-plot, at this point, is different than the source material in that Minase hasn't met her yet in the novel. She's just a rumor and I always figured that if she's there looking for disciples, and most especially a girl to exchange bodies with, she should be "auditioning" some of the students. There's a brief allusion to that in the Anime, but not in the game. I want to play with it more.

    The encounter between Minase and Miss Takashiro as he returns the key starts the way it does in the source material, but I added in the vice-principal and changed the scene significantly at that point. Mostly because I had just thought of incorporating the Bible Black Only material and I was excited about the idea. I wanted to create a situation as early as possible to use it.

    The treatment of Yukiko is only slightly different, but we get to know her a lot more. In the source material, she's a serious flirt with her little brother, and I just jacked it up a notch. I always imagined her as a "slut wanna-be" and so I'm setting her up for that role. Yukiko is kind of over-the-top, I admit it, but this is hentai, so it's allowed. Actually, it's encouraged, now that I think about it.


        Day Two

    Lunch: The Ito masturbation scene is true to the source material, but the infirmary scene is much different. In the game, Minase has a choice of going to the infirmary to check on Ito, or forgetting about her. His decision is a big factor in later events and plot lines. If he does go to the infirmary, he can either jerk off on her naked body, or leave her alone. Obviously I decided to take it one step farther and let him fuck her. It won't make much difference later, except she might be pregnant.

    Afternoon: Okay! The big train chikan scene! Plainly I've been thinking too much about Rapelay! There is no train scene in the game or anime. Minase goes to the library and bumps into Saeki there (as well as Shiraki) but they're not together. I always liked Saeki and I think she'd be an awesome girlfriend, so I decided to bring them together. I didn't actually plan on the sex, and I'm tempted to remove it (possibly saving it for later in the story) but I like it.

    The biggest change though, isn't just the sex, but the character dynamic. I need a role model for Minase, and Saeki is going to provide it. She's a total selfish bitch, and cheerfully admits it. She's playing with Minase, letting him fuck her and then dumping him 5 minutes later. She's evil in the source material too, but maybe not as much as I want her to be in the novel. The battle for Minase's soul is really between Imari and Saeki, the two female archetypes, and the rest of the story is built around it...I think.

    To the left is an image I chose not to use in the novel, although I did play with adding a bunch of semen leaking out from Ito's pussy. It looked pretty good, but I ran out of room for more than a couple illustrations and I picked the ones I thought served the story best.

    Regretfully, since the train scene isn't in the source material, I have no images I can use to illustrate it. I might just try and find some generic hentai of a train or train station to use. I'm not sure how to work around that limitation quite yet. It's a problem I'll encounter again later in the story, probably more than once.

    Afternoon: At the library, things changed largely because Saeki invited Minase to join her - in the game, they only bump into each other briefly. I also wanted to expand on the history of the book a bit earlier than it appears in the source material. I made up the bit about Lord Byron, although he did in fact have an incestuous relationship with his half-sister. Obviously, I want to draw comparison to the Minase-Yukiko dynamic. Stealing the book for Saeki is a huge change. Maybe in America or in a lot of European countries it wouldn't be a big deal, but in Japan the idea of theft is very significant to the average, normal person. I think it helps establish a fundamental change in Minase, for the worse, and also provides clues to Saeki and her utterly selfish world view. I just want to make her evil.

    Evening: At home, I didn't really need to repeat Yukiko's first performance. I was looking at the word count and knew there wouldn't be enough material for a whole new chapter, so I kept it short. In the game, she doesn't help Minase translate the book, but I went ahead and put them together again. In the source material, Yukiko really has a very small role. She's almost invisible for most of it and I want her to appear regularly, even if she doesn't always have a lot to contribute in the beginning. The idea of them sleeping together came to me at the last minute.


        Day Three

    Morning: I kind of wrote myself into a corner at the end of the second day. The big question -- What happens when Minase and/or Yukiko wake up? I had a number of options, but it's far too early for Minase to surrender. I wrote two different versions. The one I used and another in which Yukiko wakes her little brother up with a blow job. I liked them both, but a blow job seemed too much. In the source material, obviously, they never sleep together and when they do finally have sex, it occurs much later in the story and under very different circumstances...Actually, only 3 or 4 of the games possible plot lines result in Minase fucking his sister.

    And then...How to deal with Imari vs Saeki??? I was hurting in this chapter early on, believe me. I'd really gotten out of the original script and was off in my own world at this point. The trick, I finally decided, was that (A) Saeki just doesn't care at this point; and (B) Imari is going to pretend like she doesn't care until Minase makes a move. So, having figured the two roles out, I was able to...not care! Minase stays confused, and the world turns. He really is a typical 16yo boy at heart. I mean, he wants all the girls. The poor guy doesn't have a clue what he'll do with all of them, but he wants them all and is a total opportunist!

    The scene with Murai is the same as in the game, except for her promise to give Minase "anything" in return for casting the spell. Obviously "anything" is going to come back to haunt the poor girl. Never, ever make a deal like that, not even for love.
