"Nope, Two Voices," the Cheese responded, "What makes you think so?"

"I guess I'm hearing voices in my head, but I'm too relaxed to pay attention."

"Right now, I couldn't pay attention if attention cost a quarter." A relaxed simple sigh, and the Cheese asked, "Well? What do you think?"

"Oh, Hi Lori. You've learned a new thing." Two Voices said to Lori, "this is new. You just popped in to being here."

"Hi Two Voices, Jo, Cheese." Lori is nothing if not polite," yup, I wanted to see you and here I am. Now...If I can figure out HOW I did it! Maybe I can do it again." Lori kind of shimmered for a bit and she was gone, we could hear Carol scream, "Lori! You scared me half to death! Now where did that kid go?"

"I'm back," said Lori. "Let me see if I can do it again."

This time she just disappeared, no fuss, no muss, no bother...gone. Pretty quick she came back and said, "The people in Australia were surprised to see me. They were wondering why I came back so soon. We had a long chat, and I mentioned that I had a new thing in my head. The Chiefs want to visit."

"Lori," said the Cheese, "you weren't gone but a few seconds, how did you do that?"

"I remembered how everyone was standing and where the sun was, so that's where I came to."

"Lori? What time of the day was it when you were in Australia?"

"Day time, they were eating. Just like the last time we were there. Same people too. Lunch, I think. Oh, I see... it's night there, when it's day here. Hmmm? I need to work on this."

"It's not something I expected," Two Voices marveled, "I wonder what else you can do? I suspect we'll find out as you get older."

"It feels weird in my brain when I do it." Lori suggested, "let me in and I'll show you where."

"I see," said Two Voices, "you know, I can't just pop in and out without my ship."

That got the Cheese to thinking. 'I need to capture Lori and get her to look in my mind to see if I have the "hook" to do this.'

"Coca leaves and lime," Cheese said.

"You know, it doesn't affect us like that," Jo thought for a minute, "what made you think...?"

"Horny cat spray and really bad coffee," the Cheese chuckled, "Cat spray doesn't do a thing for us and bad coffee is better down the drain. Remember? She got so turned on by cat spray she left for two weeks, and she loved that miserable coffee she had. Coca leaves wake me up and I could care less if I get laid. My mind is going so fast I see the solution to problems almost before the problem is."

"You know, Cheese. I'm beginning to think she/he's not as smart as we've been thinking. They just have better technology and they know how to use it."

"Yup, exactly what I've been thinking.

"Jo, I would like to see if Lori can show us, you and me, how she does the time and distance travel thing. I'm betting we can go both ways, forward and back. Two Voices already admitted she/he can't do it."

"She's grounded."

"Grounded? What did she do?"

"She doesn't want to walk so I grounded her. If you want to go walking, that's fine. NO flying."

"I'll bet she doesn't like that one little bit."

"Nope. She's pouting."

"Lori! What will you do if your face freezes like that?" Jo chuckled.

The Cheese looked at Lori, "If that lip is out in the winter it'll break off!"

"Might!"

She broke out laughing, "Ok Cheese. I give. I'm sorry, mom. I'll walk. I need to learn."

Carol said, "Cheese, you are so good with her. How do you do that?"

"When she's a kid, I am too. When she's an adult, so am I. When she acts like a human I treat her like one. She is, ya know...Human, just small ... and magic. Lori, you're the human of the future and I'm gonna love the changes you'll make."

Lori blushed.

"Carol, can we borrow her for a little while? I want to see if she can teach me her new thing."
