Response
(response to Go From Me.  I wrote this one.)

Go from me

Though I must go

From thee and hence

To none knows where

I offer up this pledge

That I shall never

Know another to be

As close as thee to me

And though you stay

I carry with

A token of a flame

That burneth yet soothes

In fond remembrance there

Tempest and ease await

At intervals one, then other

And back and forth

To tipsy feel

I cant my pledge that like a string

Of gold or gem

And wander roads

In search of time

And place that we may simply be.

Will God allow

Such a thing to be

Or in His love and judgment send

A fragrant forget to end the pine

That ever populates my heart?

That is for He to know

And me to roam

Awaiting His pleasure.
