Gabycon 2010 - Dorset, England

Friday

Foxy prepares to depart from Bristol at the start of the 5 hour ride to Dorchester on Friday.

Judge Jeffreys Chambers where we ate on Friday evening.

Saturday

Saturday morning and our first stop was the Roman town house in Dorchester.

Then it was off on the bikes to Cerne Abbas.

Nena checks out the Giant.

After a quick cuppa we explored the village a bit.

Then it was back to Dorchester by which time the sun was out. At Maumbury Ring Gaby was ready for the first reading of the weekend.

It still being quite early we then headed to Maiden Castle hill fort.

Nena was keen to explore the massive site.

Sunday

On Sunday our first stop was Corfe Castle.

Gaby and Nena both enjoyed exploring the ruins in the sunshine.

Then it was on to Lulworth Cove

Ang dragged us up over the cliffs to see the petrified forest,

part of the Jurassic Coast long distance path.

Our last stop of the day was Portland Bill where we viewed Chesil Beach

before taking a ride down the island to the lighthouse.

Monday

Trains featured heavily on our way home, we caught a ride to Bath where we followed the cycle track to Bristol. On the way we stopped at the Avon Valley Railway for lunch

and admired some of the 'art' on the trailside.

Gaby had a tear in her eye as we waited at Bristol for our ride home, like the rest of us sad that the weekend was at an end.
