Subject: Garden of Eve (3)

It had been a week since Eve and Jackie had spoken,
and Mike had finally noticed this growing silence.
So, being the matchmaker that he was, he invited both
women over to his house, but unknown to him, he wasn't
going to be there. Eve was the first to arrive. When
she walked up to the door, she noticed a note. It
read, "Door is unlocked. Let yourself in. I'm running
a little late." Eve walked into the house, and Mike's
German Shepard, Pooh, jumped on her.
"Get off, Pooh." Eve yelled as the dog continued to
lick her pants. She walked into the kitchen to find
that dinner was already made and placed on the dining
room table. Mike was a wonderful cook and he had
outdone himself tonight. There was a roasted chicken,
string beans, corn, what had to be homemade bread, and
red wine. Eve was about to sample the chicken when
she heard a knock on the door. Mike must have his
hands full, she thought as she walked toward the door.
She opened the door to find a shocked Jackie standing
there.
"What are you doing here?" Eve asked.
"I was about to ask you the same question."
"Mike invited me over for dinner."
"Really, he invited me too."
The women stood there for a moment looking at each
other, when Jackie's cell phone began to ring.
"Hello. Mike where are you?"
Eve listened in, as Mike began to tell Jackie how
tired he was of the silence that was going on between
them, and that he wanted them to sit, eat, and talk it
out. Jackie closed her phone at looked at Eve.
"I guess it'll just be us then."
"I guess so." Eve replied and moved back to allow
Jackie into the house. They fixed their plates, and
ate in silence. It wasn't until they began to clean
that Eve had had enough. As she loaded the dishes into
the dishwasher she asked the question that she was
dying to know the answer to.
"So what's wrong Jackie? What did I do that made you
dislike me so quickly?"
Jackie had been putting away the clean dishes from the
dishwasher, and almost dropped a glass when she heard
Eve's voice.
"You didn't do anything. It's me."
Eve closed the dishwasher and turned toward Jackie.
"What do you mean it's you?"
"I don't what to talk about it."
Eve moved a little closer to her.
"Please, I need to know what's going on. What
happen?"
"That massage happen." The words were out of her mouth
before she could stop them. She turned her back to
Eve, facing the opposite counter, and began to put the
plates away.
"The massage? What you didn't enjoy it?" Eve was
completely confused. What in the world did that
massage have to do with anything?
"No, I enjoyed it. Maybe a little too much."
"What do you mean too much?" Eve needed to hear her
say it, needed to know if it was at all possible that
Jackie could feel the way she felt.
"I mean that I enjoyed having you touch me, and that
was wrong. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable
around me."
"You enjoyed my touch?" If Jackie was looking at Eve,
she would see the smile that was beginning to play
across her lips. She couldn't believe her ears.
Jackie enjoyed her touch. She knew that it was time
to make her move. Whatever happened after today would
be on Jackie, but Eve was now ready to do what she had
been wanting to do for so long. She walked up behind
Jackie, and placed a hand on either side of her body.
She leaned in and whispered in her ear.
"I enjoyed touching you. Your skin is so smooth. I
could touch you all day. As a matter of fact, I've
dreamed about touching you all day, and all night."
Eve kissed Jackie on the back of her neck, and heard
as Jackie quickly inhaled. She knew she had her. She
placed her hands on Jackie's waist and turned her
around so that they were face to face. That feeling
was once again back in her stomach, as she looked
Jackie in her eyes. As slowly as possible, she leaned
in toward Jackie, giving her time to move away if she
wanted to. When she didn't move, Eve closed the gap
between them, and their lips touched in their first
soft kiss. It was a simple brush on the lips, but
they both felt the fire growing between them. Eve
kissed her again, this time with more pressure. Their
lips began to press against each other, when Jackie,
not Eve, opened her mouth and licked Eve's lips with
her tongue. Eve happily opened her mouth and their
tongues began dance against each other. Eve wrapped
her arms around Jackie and began to gentle rub her
back and her neck. Jackie placed her arms around
Eve's neck, pulling her closer into the kiss. Eve
allowed her mouth too slowly drift away from Jackie's
lips, and her tongue made a path from her lips to her
neck. Jackie felt like she was dying as Eve kissed
and slightly bit her neck. Suddenly Jackie realized
what was going on. She was kissing Eve. As quickly as
the kiss had begun, Jackie pushed Eve away, breaking
contact. Without saying a word, she ran from the
kitchen toward the front door.
"Jackie, wait." Eve ran to try and catch her, but when
she reached the door, Jackie was already at her car.
Eve watched as she drove away, hoping that she hadn't
just messed up something wonderful.
