 Chapter 6

Well, we've now been home for three days, and I have
spent most of that time getting to know my brother.
It's been quite easy really, we are so much alike it
scares even me. I have no idea what it does to Lance
to have us both in the same room with him.

We joke the same, even finishing each other sentences.
But until yesterday we had never faced the really big
problem we had. No not dad, but how to tell us apart.
When we realized this we decide to have some fun with
the guys. The one I thought would be the most
difficult to fool was actually the easiest, and that
was lance.

We where in the studio I had fitted when I decided I
wanted to try singing. Josh had asked that Lance join
him down there so that he could show him a new song
that he had been writing. Twenty minutes later Lance
and I where in the studio, and I sang a song that I
had written called "The Gift":

A poor orphaned girl named Maria,
Was walking to market one day.
She stopped for to rest by the roadside,
Were a bird with a broken wing lay.
A few moments passed till she saw it,
For its feathers where covered with sand.
But soon cleaned and wrapped, it was traveling
In the warmth of Maria's small hand.

She happily gave her last Paso,
On a cage made of rush's and twine.
She feed it loose corn from the market,
And watched it grow stronger with time.
Now the Christmas evening service was coming,
And the church shone with tinsel and light.
And all of the town folk were present,
To lay by the manger that night.
There where diamonds and incense and perfumes,
In packages fit for a king.
But for one ragged bird in a small cage,
 Maria had nothing to bring.

She waited 'till just before midnight,
So no one would see her go in.
And crying, she knelt by the manger,
For her gift wasn't worthy of Him.
Then a voice spoke to her from the darkness,
"Maria, what brings you to me?
If the bird in the cage is you offering,
Open the door, let me see."

Though she trembled she did as he asked her,
And out of the cage the bird flew.
 Soaring up into the rafters,
On a wing that had healed good as new.
Just then the midnight bells rang out,
And the little bird started to sing.
A song that no words could recapture,
Who's beauty was fit for a King.

Now Maria felt blessed just to listen,
To that cascade of notes sweet and long.
As her offering was lifted to heaven,
By the very first nightingale's song.

As I finished the song, Lance go up and ran over,
through his arms around me, and kissed me hard on the
lips. He tried to get his tongue in my mouth, but I
wouldn't let him enter. He pulled back with a
questioning look on his face. I just motioned my head
to the door and said "Sorry Lance, but not with your
boyfriend watching."

"How..., but..., you..., you sound just like him. How
was I supposed to know?"
"That was the idea," I said. "But we weren't expecting
you to react like that. Sorry Lance, but you have to
admit, we got you good eh?"
"Yes, you did"
"I must say I am surprised. I didn't expect to be able
to fool you so easily. I mean, I thought surely you
would spot the difference,"
"But there is no difference between you two, is
there?"
"Yes, and you look into them every time you say 'I
love you' to Josh,"
"Your eyes," he said astonished.
"Yes, our eyes. Josh's are blue, mine are brown. Look
closer."
With that said, he looked into my eyes, and then said,
"I never noticed."

That was yesterday, today we are going to get Joey and
Chris.

The internal phone next to Joey buzzed and he picked
it up, "Hello."
"Hey Joey, you wanna come down to the studio with
Chris, and practice some songs?" asked Josh through
the phone.
"Yeah, I'll round up Chris and we'll be there in a
few," And then he hung up.
After rounding up Chris, they made their way to the
studio. Once there, they saw who they thought to be
Josh siting in the booth.
"Hi guys," I said. "Just take a seat, I'm trying out
a new song. You wanna hear it?"
"Yeah," they both said, so I started singing:

That timeless moment when we meet,
 Timeless hours we can't forget.
The second that you lips met mine,
 We turned water into wine.
Only a fool could ever fail to see,
A love like ours was meant to be.

 Timeless, never ending.
Your heart and my heart blending.
 Timeless, never-ending love.

I hold onto your every breath,
From you, love, they'll be no death.
 You're my everything and more,
A work of art that I adore.
Every moment that you share with me,
Makes me know our love will always be.

 Timeless, never ending.
Your heart and my heart blending.
 Timeless, never-ending love.

 Timeless, never ending.
Your heart and my heart blending.
 Timeless, never-ending love.

 Timeless, never ending.
Your heart and my heart blending.
 Timeless, never-ending..... love.

I finished the song and they began to clap. Then
Joey said, "That's great Josh. Are we going to put
that on the new album?"
"That's it! I've had it! That's two songs I've sung
today and twice it's been, 'Oh Josh that's great'.
Can't any of you tell the difference between us?"
I turned away pretending to be angry, but from behind
me I heard a thump. I turned round quickly and saw
Chris passed out on the floor. Immediately I went over
to him.
"Chris, you ok man?"
"Yeah, just shock I guess. I mean you sound just like
him."
"Why does that surprise you? When I talk I sound like
him, so it is obvious that when I sing, I sound like
him. Anyway, your fainting kind of ruined my plan to
make you think I was angry. But I'll tell you now the
difference between me and Josh is, I have brown eyes
and he has blue, ok?"
"Yep" they both said.

Now the only one left to get, was Justin, but Josh was
to beat me to that one. It would be the cause of one
of the greatest moments in my life.
