Previously...from "Reality of a Guardian Angel: The Gift of Life "

The guys sang to me, showing more emotion that I had ever heard before.
Ever the professional performers, they sang this song to me, even through
their own pain and emotion at learning of yet another tragedy I had endured.
I couldn't keep it together any longer. I was taken aback by the guys'
love. I leaned down and grabbed my knees, sobbing violently, never looking
into the faces of my guardian angels. I knew I was truly loved.

And now, "Reality of a Guardian Angel: Love Finds a Way."

For minutes after the song was over, I couldn't face any of them. I was so
ashamed of not being strong, not being able to keep myself from being taken
advantage of. I felt a multitude of hands on my back, simply touching me,
letting me know I wasn't alone. Then, Lance tried to lift my face, but I
resisted. Finally, I gave in and met his green eyes, filled with tears and
showing nothing but love for me. I cautiously grabbed him into a hug, the
pain from my wound immense, but I didn't care. I needed my Boo close to me.

Lance knelt before me and hugged me until my tears stopped, never saying or
questioning anything. I stood, and walked toward the house, surrounded by
Lance, Justin, JC, Joey and Chris. Silence remained between us until they
knew I was ready to talk. I told them the entire story, no one ever
interrupting or commenting. As I finished telling them, with my head hung
low, Lance pulled my face to his and kissed me passionately, and yet without
any aggression.

"Jase, never again will anyone hurt you that way. Not as long as my lungs
have breath in them!" Lance looked deeply into my eyes as a single tear
rolled down my face.

"Jase, we love you and will be here for you no matter what." Chris said
this as he hugged Joey tightly.

"I love y'all..." I couldn't speak. Nothing else could be said.

That evening, we all stayed in our new rooms, with the exception of Justin
and JC. They offered to stay in the room with Lance and me, in case either
one of us wanted to talk. I was shocked that either one of them realized
that when someone is raped, it also has an effect on the victims partner,
even if the trauma occurred in the past before the relationship. The
feelings of guilt and helplessness can be very disturbing. Several times in
the night, I could hear that Lance was awake and talking quietly to someone.
But, I had taken a pain pill to ease the pain from overexerting myself
with the airport drive and all, and couldn't bring myself completely out of
my slumber.

The following morning, I woke up with Lance snuggled up against one side,
and Justin and JC snuggled up on the other. I smiled at how protective they
were being. I couldn't help but get things going by giving Justin a razz
first thing in the morning.

"Justin, babe. You know, you might want to rub up on your own boyfriend,
'cause I know mine's the jealous type!" Everyone woke to my words and
Justin blushed as he realized he was a little jolly down there and had been
spooning me from behind.

"Huh? I...I'm sorry. I just..." Justin was still half-asleep.

"Jase, who cares! Let's just sleep some more." JC shocked me with this
little blurb.

"Hmm...so I guess I can I say I've had BOTH of the blonde boys of *N Sync?
That would..." Lance cut me off.

"That would be a mistake! Justin can just keep his little prick off my
boyfriend, that's what he can do!" Lance started laughing, as did everyone
but me.

"Boo, I hate to tell you this, but his prick ain't that little!" THEN I
laughed, as Lance looked over to Justin and JC, and JC simply nodded his
head.

"I thought I heard voices!" Joey and Chris walked in as Joey was speaking.

"Well Red, do we need to call the shrink?" I looked a Joey seriously,
waiting for him to catch on.

"Ha, Ha, Ha! You're just too damn funny!" Joey began to pout.

"You know, I don't understand why it seems here lately that every time we've
been together, it's always around my bed! I'm just wonderin' how many
little *N Sync orgies are gonna go down while y'all are on tour, and I'm
stuck here tryin' to figure out who's the one fuckin' my Boo today!" Lance
shocked me as well as everyone else in the room.

"You are!" Lance blushed when all five of us turned to stare at him in
silence.

"Boo, you never cease to amaze me!" I pulled his face up from my chest and
kissed him deeply.

"Oh shit! I think we best be leaving! It's fixin' to get hot up in here!"
Chris and Joey made their way out of the room followed by a laughing JC.

"Justin, what the fuck are you doin' in here?" I asked as I still felt his
presence behind me. JC turned to realize Justin was still on the bed with
Lance and me.

"What, I can't watch? Talk about NO fun!" Justin giggled as he walked
toward JC, who still stood in the doorway.

"Well, babe, if you're lookin' for some fun, how's about we go back to our
room and see how much FUN we can find in there!" JC cupped Justin's ass and
gave it a light squeeze.

"Ooh, baby!" Justin growled as both he and JC left, closing the door behind
them.

Lance and I made love with some difficulty. My injury made sex more complex
than we were used to. But, we both managed, TWICE! After taking a shower
together, Lance and I emerged and went to the kitchen to find Justin eating
cereal while Joey was seconds away from burning his toast.

"You know, I think I'll just move here! My favorite cereal, enough food for
an army, and a way cool bed for me to fuck my boyfriend on!" Justin grinned
as JC slapped him upside the head.

"OK, Mr. Vulgar! See if you get any tonight!" JC pouted.

Suddenly, JC slipped his hand between Justin's legs and squeezed his cock
through his boxers. Justin was so shocked he blew cereal and milk out of
his mouth and nose all over the table. We laughed hysterically as I threw
Justin a dishtowel to clean up his mess.

The phone rang. I got up and noticed Lance, JC, and Justin watched every
step I made as I headed to the phone. The conversation I was about to have
would be the final piece of a puzzle I had long been trying to piece
together. Lance, JC and Justin would always be whispering together and
suddenly stop talking when I entered the room. And now, the three of them
tried to hide the grins on their faces, and yet I knew they were up to
something!

"Hello...Well, I guess I can. I don't have any plans as of yet and I'm sure
I could find the time to swing by...hey, what are you doing at work on a
Saturday? I know that's not...oh, I see. Well, I'll be down in about an
hour...yah, I will." I hung up the phone.

"Soooo, who was that?" Lance tried to act innocent.

"James Lance Bass, don't even take me there! I think you and your two
little grinning buddies over there know exactly who that was." I glared at
Justin, JC and Lance and went upstairs to dress. Joey and Chris just looked
around dumbfounded.

After I was dressed, I walked back downstairs and gave Lance the keys to my
vehicle. Since he had slipped on some clothes earlier, Lance simply stood
and came over to me.

"Guy's, we'll be back shortly. And if you like, I think we should have a
barbecue on the patio by the pool. It's a nice enough today to get in a
little swimmin' and eatin' out in the sun. So, we'll have us a shindig up
in here later! How's that?" Everyone nodded as Lance and I left.

While Lance and I were gone, JC and Justin filled Joey and Chris in on what
they had planned. I sat silently as Lance drove me down to the office Jive
had for Allen, *N Sync's tour coordinator. As we pulled into the parking
lot, I asked Lance to stay outside. He argued at me, not with me, because I
had made up my mind. Lance finally gave up as I just sat there staring at
him, saying all I needed to say with my eyes.

About an hour later, I emerged and startled Lance when I opened the door and
climbed in the passenger seat. Lance looked at me and I just stared ahead.
We drove in silence, but on the inside I was screaming, I could hardly
contain the joy. I had finally realized the reason Allen had been concerned
that I hadn't told the guys about taking the job as *N Sync's on-the-road
tour manager. Lance, JC, and Justin had been the ones who had called in
some favors to persuade Jive to offer me the job. Allen told me when he
caught wind of this, he realized I had not told the guys when I was in LA
and got concerned. Then, when Lance called Allen directly, he played along
with Lance and let him think that he, JC and Justin had persuaded Jive to
offer me the job. What none of them knew was I had signed a contract with
Jive when I met with Allen right before I went to LA. That was the
important news I had to tell them before I got sidetracked with giving them
keys to the house. I was going to pull a real whopper over on the guys this
time.

"Jase, are you OK? You seem a little mad or something." Lance couldn't
stand the silence any longer.

"Let's just head back to the house." I spoke flatly.

We made our way back home and Lance scurried into the house ahead of me,
obviously warning the guys about my rotten mood. Everyone was oh so nice
when I got inside. Joey pulled out the chair for me to sit in. Chris
rushed off to get me something to drink. JC and Justin told me to sit there
and relax, and with the help of the other's, they could get lunch ready
without me being bothered. So, I said fine and barked off a couple of
orders about how to boil the potatoes and the eggs for the potato salad I
wanted to make. Everyone was startled at my gruff tone.

I couldn't take it any longer. I had to go somewhere and laugh my ass off
at how chicken shit the guys were being. I stood and walked out back to the
pool. I entered the pool house where the showers and changing rooms were
and fell out laughing. It was apparent that Lance assumed I was mad at them
for trying to get me a job so I could be with them on tour. He also assumed
that I had turned it down, especially since I would glare and JC, Justin,
and him every chance I got. Yes, it was a little mean, but I had to make a
statement.

After I laughed and released the joy that had been threatening to show
earlier, I got back into character and put my scowl back on my face. I
puttered around the back yard, walking around the pool, and ever so often,
noticing five faces spying on me through various windows that looked out
into the back yard. I laughed inwardly.

After Lance had fired up the grill, (Thank God Lance cooked, or I might have
really been sorry!) the guys threw on the chicken and then the steaks. I
finally moved back into the kitchen and started mashing the potatoes. When
I started chopping the pickles and eggs for the potato salad, everyone
cleared out of the kitchen when they saw me with a knife. I knew I couldn't
keep up the façade for much longer. I figured I'd clear the air as we ate.
I started preparing the potato salad, humming to myself contently.

As we fixed our plates in silence, we all sat down on the patio and began
eating. I decided to start in on the guys. What I didn't know was that I
was fixin' to be taken for a ride as well! I should have known something
was up, since I hadn't taken the cordless phone out to the patio.

"Guys, I think we need to talk. I..." Justin cut me off.

"No we don't. We know how you feel." Justin never looked into my eyes.

"What I was gonna say was..." JC cut me off this time.

"Why bother telling us? It's obvious you don't care how many favors we
called in for you." JC didn't look up at me either.

"Will you let me..." Joey cut me off.

"I think enough has been said, don't you?" Joey didn't look up, but I could
see the grin on his face for just a second before Chris nudged him. They
knew! They KNEW I was pulling a prank! I bet they had called Allen to see
what had happened! This meant WAR!

"Well OK. Then I guess I'll just call Allen and tell him to tear up my
contract. It's obvious y'all are mad at me for not telling you about this
earlier. I just figured you would have been intuitive enough to call Allen
and ask what had happened, but I guess you weren't too concerned, now were
you." I watched everyone's face go pale as I grabbed the cordless off the
table.

"Jase, wait..." I put my hand up into Lance's face.

"Allen, Jason...no, everything's OK. I just wanted to let you know that the
next time these guys call you about any of my business, tell them to STEP
OFF! We damn near had a feud up in here because they tried to get sly on me
and do a whip-around...No, you don't have to apologize. How could you know
I'd try to pull a fast one over on these guys and would end up getting' the
whole situation fucked up! So, let me be the one to apologize...How'd I
what? Oh, I just hit re-dial. These guys think they're all that, but
they've got a lot of learning to do before they can get a good one over on
me. Hey, thanks, and I'll see you on Monday!" I hung up as the guys just
stared at me.

"You knew?" Lance asked quietly.

"Well, let's just say I put the pieces of the puzzle together this morning
and realized what all the secrecy between you, JC and Justin was all about.
Also, I had already signed the contract to be the on-the-road tour manager
when I went to LA. That was the REAL surprise! The house was just a little
somethin' special on the side. I've been in constant communication with
Jive since the whole 'tabloid thang' and I gave them a piece of my mind!"

"You did what?" Lance was shocked.

"Well, why hadn't Jive taken care of the tabloids with their normal PR
tactics by denying the whole situation before I got involved? And why would
they book y'all on a three-leg flight instead of a direct flight? And don't
even get me started on Tony, who kept y'all SO safe that I had a little
encounter with Capt'n Whoop-Ass over there while Tony stood by the fuckin'
door to the MEN'S ROOM! So, after I had pissed a few people off, they got
smart and asked me what I would do if I were in charge, so I told them.
Obviously, they were impressed, because when I met with them after y'all
left last month, I ended up saving Jive a quarter of a million dollars by
making just a few changes to the tour. So, keep in mind that you've just
tried to fuck the person who'll be ridin' your ass for the entire 'No
Strings Attached' tour." I smiled widely and continued eating.

"I can't believe you did this to us!" Chris was sounding kinda pissed.

"Well, CK. It goes like this. If I hadn't tried to buy a one-way ticket on
the Gloryland Express in LA, I wouldn't have ended up in the hospital and
would have told you then. But, after my accident, I didn't have a chance to
tell y'all. THEN, when Lance, JC and Justin had contacted Jive and started
tryin' to call in favors, Allen called me to see why I hadn't told y'all
yet, but refused to tell me how he knew I hadn't told y'all. This morning,
these three knuckleheads were watching me as I went to answer the phone and
I realized they thought they had won the battle and had made it possible for
me to be on tour with y'all. Funny thing is, it was a done deal weeks ago.
SO, if you want to get pissy at anyone, I think Lance, Justin and JC are up
for that, right guys?" I continued to eat after my epistle.

Once everyone realized we had all been going in circles around each other
for weeks, we had a good laugh, all except Lance. He sat with his arms
crossed over his chest and pouted. I tried to tickle him, but he jerked
away.

"It's just no fair. How come we can't EVER get a good prank to work on
you." Lance pouted some more.

"Boo, remember what I told you about pouting?" Lance ignored me.

I slid from my chair down under the table, being careful not to hit my
injured shoulder. I knelt in front of Lance and ran my right hand up his
thigh, making him gasp. Then, I shocked everyone. I undid the fly to his
shorts and started licking his cock through his boxers. Lance blushed so
fiercely that I was afraid he might stay red forever. I pulled his boxers
down and took his cock into my mouth. After a few bobs, I pulled his boxers
up, buttoned the fly to his shorts, and sat back up at the table and
continued to eat like nothing had happened.

"Oh...My...God! I can't believe you just did that to Lance in front of us!"
Justin was shocked, as were the others.

"Capt'n, what are you shocked about. You're Mr. 'Let's see some skin'
aren't you? Besides, Lance isn't pouting anymore, now is he!" I grinned
and took another bite of potato salad.

Lance was in shock. He sat there in a daze, not looking at anything in
particular. I reached over and squeezed his thigh and he finally looked my
way and got a goofy grin on his face. I kissed him and returned to eating.
I glanced at Lance, and there he sat, trying his hardest to pout through the
grin he still had. Then I noticed Lance wasn't the only smart-ass at the
table. Joey, Chris, JC and Justin all sat there trying to pout. So, I
called their bluff!

I again slid down my chair and got under the table. Only this time, I just
looked around scratching my head. Now understand, the table top to my patio
furniture is glass so everyone at the table could see my drama. Then, I
moved toward Joey. Once I was in front of him, I slid my hand up his leg as
he jumped up and fell backward, chair and all. I crawled over to him and
smiled at his shocked face.

"See, no more pout!" I stood up and returned to my side of the table while
Joey put his chair back upright and sat down with a dazed look on his face.

"Damn, Jase. You're not in the least bit bashful, are you?" Joey's shocked
look had everyone laughing hysterically.

"Hey, Joe. Remember what Justin and I told you about what Lance and Jase
did to us over at Justin's house? Did you forget so soon?" JC was
referring to the strip tease Lance and I had done the month before. JC
could hardly finish his sentence before he fell out laughing.

"Oh yah! Well, I never expected any shit like that in broad daylight in the
backyard by the pool!" Joey slowly came out of his shock.

"Now, if you poutin' bastards don't mind, I'm tryin' to eat here!" I
grinned at everyone and put another piece of steak in my mouth.

"Yo Lance. How do ya keep up with all of Jase's sexy tease? I'm surprised
you can walk!" Justin started grinning and looking from Lance to me.

"Well, if I wasn't laid up in this sling, I doubt he'd be walkin' anywhere
without being bowlegged and smilin' from ear to ear! Besides, I've only got
another week or so until I'm out of this thing, so we can make up for lost
time before the tour starts. And guess what, I don't think Lance is
complaining about what I'm capable of doing, injured as I am!" I looked at
Lance as he again blushed.

After the afternoon faded into dark, Lance took everyone to their pads to
pick up a few things. While the guys would be back in Orlando for some
time, they would still be making appearances right up until the tour started
in May. The weeks passed and I went to work on ironing out the logistical
wrinkles any tour of the magnitude of 'No Strings Attached' would encounter.
My life was complete and I had not only the love of my life, but I had my
guardian angels. Lance and the guys had found a way to keep me happy, and
help me try to forget the pain of the past.

TBC...

Will the guys be able to handle Jase as their tour manager on the road?
We'll see!
