Foolish Beat - Chapter 14

by JT Poole

* N Sync Tour Bus *

"JC can I speak to you for a moment? I think we need to talk." Lance asked
JC as he entered the kitchen area of the tour bus.

"Sure, sit here, do you want some of my pizza, it's enough for two. If you
want some you can have some." JC stated looking at Lance intently.

"JC, first, I must so that I am sorry, I overheard the conversation you had
with Joey. Second, I do have feelings for you, but I don't know how to
handle those feelings. Wait, don't say anything. If you let me, we can both
try to see if we can share our feelings with each other." Lance stated as
he stared down at the table.

Happy at what he had just heard, JC leaned over the table and kissed Lance
on his cheek. Surprised at what JC had done, Lance started blushing. Not
wanting to seem unthankful, Lance turned around and kissed JC back on the
cheek.

"Does this mean what I think it means Lance?" JC asked.

"What do you think it means JC?" Lance asked.

"That we are together, that we are a couple." JC stated.

"I guess, we just need to take things slow. I am not use to this kind of
relationship, but I want to give it a try. I don't know if I can fall in
love with you JC, but I want to see what will happen with us." Lance
stated.

"Lance you are the only guy that I have ever liked. I don't know if this is
a phase or what, but I want to try as well. I am still attracted to girls,
but I have an attraction to you, that I want to explore. I don't know, but
I just have the urge to touch you, to love you and I don't know why." JC
stated as Lance put his hands into his.

* BSB Tour Bus *

"Nick are you okay? What's wrong man?" Kevin asked.

"How would you feel if your best friend was queer and getting married to
another man and he didn't tell you about it?" Nick asked, looking at Kevin
with a scowl.

"Look Nick, I didn't know Brian and Chris were dating either, so don't feel
alone. I am his cousin, so how do you think I felt when I found out about
the whole thing." Kevin stated sitting down besides Nick.

"Kevin, I love Brian, I wish it was me that he was marrying. I have always
loved him, but I didn't know he was gay too." Nick stated with Kevin
staring at him.

"What! You are gay too? Is there anybody else in the Backstreet Boys gay?!"
Kevin shouted as AJ, Howie and Brian walked to the back of the bus where
the two were.

"What's wrong Kevin? Why are you shouting?" AJ asked.

"He's shouting because I just told him I was gay. He can't believe it."
Nick stated.

"Cool, I didn't know you were gay Nick." Brian stated.

"Yeah, well it's too late now!" Nick stated as he got up and walked away.

"What's wrong Nick?" Brian stated following behind Nick.

"Kevin did we miss something? What's wrong with Nick?" Howie asked.

"Well he's gay too, and he likes Brian and he wished that Brian was
marrying him instead of Chris.

"Shit, here comes more problems on the tour. I thought he was just acting
like Lance, but now I see why." Howie stated.

* Orlando - Jive Building *

"Okay, let's do that track over, Jeff you don't sound too good on that one
and Mark, cool it with the personal additions." Jason stated.

"I think that song sounded great! Ever since you came out to us, you don't
care what you say or how you act! I want the old Jason back." Jeff stated.

"I am the same Jason you knew in High School, you just didn't recognize
this part of me." Jason stated as he motioned for the sound engineer to
start the track over.

Listen up, get it straight

There ain't no point in catching fate

Listen up, clue me in

There ain't no way you gettin' in

We're takin' over

Read me loud and clear

We're takin' over

It's the end of your career

Listen up, listen good

Make sure I'm not misunderstood

Listen up, listen hard

Get the point, we're here for good

...

"Alright, that's a wrap, you guys can break for twenty minutes." the sound
engineer said.

"I'll be down in the conference room, I am going to make a private phone
call." Jason stated as he walked out of the sound booth towards the
conference room.

"Bet he's going to call his boyfriend. I think it's time we talked about
finding someone to replace him. It's like he's getting out of control or
something." Jeff stated.

"Jeff, why are you the only one that has a problem with Jason? The rest of
us are okay, it's just you. What's with all this shit man, why you trying
to get us to throw him out?" Mark asked.

"I don't think it's safe for the group for us to have someone gay. He can
ruin all of us. If it got out that he and Howie were dating, that's it for
PassionFly." Jeff stated.

"So far Jason and Howie has carried on a relationship all this time without
anyone knowing, I am quite sure they can continue without any interference
from anyone else. Before you found out this bit of info you were okay about
gay people, but soon as Jason is gay, you have a hissie about us voting
him, well he stays or you can go!" Mark stated.
