Halloween Story
(Ooo, creative title!)

Disclaimer: I don't know or have anything to do with *NSYNC. I don't know
anything about their sexuality, either. Don't worry, I'm still writing
"Devotion" but I felt that *someone* had to respond to the Halloween fic
challenge that was issued on the JoshJustSlash list. I hope you guys like
it, and feel free to tell me if you do. Have a safe Halloween! ^_~

"C'mon, you've *got* to dress up, Scoop!"
"Chris, sometimes you are such a kid," Lance replied, rolling his
eyes.
"Yeah, but I'm having fun," the twenty-nine year-old countered with
a laugh.
"Guys! Oh my gosh! Guess what I'm going to be for Halloween!"
Justin yelled, bounding into the room. Jumping onto the couch next to
Chris, the nineteen year-old expectantly looked at his friends.
"Someone who's had *way* too much coffee?" Lance guessed.
"Ha, ha, Scoop," Justin replied sarcastically. "No, seriously,
guess."
"A basketball player?" Chris asked dryly. "Like the last five
years?"
"No, and I have *not* been that for the past five years,
thankyouverymuch!" Justin growled. Brightening, he said, "I'll give you a
hint: It's-"
Justin stopped short as JC descended the stairs. He was wearing
skin-tight leather pants and a silver mesh shirt that didn't leave much to
the imagination. He was also wearing matching black boots that had
three-inch heels.
"Let me guess, C, you're going as a tramp," Chris teased.
Ignoring him, the twenty-four year-old walked into the
room. "Well?" He asked the group. "What do you think?"
"You're going to get mobbed by anyone who has relatively good
eye-sight, Jace," Lance replied with a laugh.
Justin was trying to find something to say that didn't have to do
with taking JC right there, but nothing was coming to mind.
Joey, who had just walked into the room as well, leaned against the
door frame and suggested, "You know, you should wear some black eye-liner
with that or something. And a collar."
"You're a kinky boy, Joe," Chris laughed. "Why don't you just cut
to the chase and suggest some handcuffs and a whip, too."
Blushing, Joey muttered, "That's not what I meant, and you know
it." Changing the subject, he added, "So, have anyone of you seen my
Superman cape?"
Rolling his eyes, Lance drawled, "Superman *again,* Joey?"
Smiling, the New Yorker replied, "You know it!"
"So everyone is dressing up, right?" Chris brought them back to the
original subject. "Joey's being Superman, I'm being Britney Spears,
Justin's being a basketball player, Lance's being Poo-fu, and JC's going as
a whore. Right? Good."
"I am not going as a basketball player!"
"I'm not going to dress up, and even if I was going to, it wouldn't
be Poo-fu!"
	"I don't look like a whore, do I?"
"Well, I'm going as Superman, so I guess you got *one* right,
Chris."
"Thanks, and JC, you definitely look like a whore." Chris laughed,
causing the brunette to pout.
Sitting down next to Justin, JC folded his arms across his
chest. Still pouting, he turned to the blonde and asked, "I don't really
look like a whore, do I, Justin?"
"Uh, um," Justin began nervously, trying not to stare at his
bandmate too obviously. JC took his inability to answer the question as a
bad sign.
"I do! You think I'm a slut! I can't believe this!" With that, the
twenty-four year-old went running out of the room.
"Justin, that wasn't very nice," Lance scolded.
"I didn't call him a whore!" the teen protested. "You guys did! I
just didn't know what to say!"
"Because he *does* look like a whore?" Joey teased.
"No, because-I don't know! Just drop it, okay!"
"Whatever, Curly. I'm going to go talk to him," Lance replied,
getting up.
"You'd better have a costume by the time you come back," Chris
called after the Mississippian. Lance simply gave him a one-finger salute.
"You're really going as Britney?" Justin asked Chris, once Lance
had left the room.
"Why?" Chris replied. "You wanted to?"
"No!" the teen answered quickly. "I just don't think that's very
nice."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you not like it when I make fun of your
girlfriend?" Chris said sarcastically.
"Shut-up, you know I can't stand that skank," Justin sighed. He was
tired of always being teased about his so-called "girlfriend."
"So if you're not going as a basketball player *or* Britney, what
are you going as?" Joey jumped in.
"Eminem!" the nineteen year-old exclaimed proudly.
"What?" Joey and Chris asked simultaneously, before breaking up
into hysterical laughter.
Pouting Justin said, "What's wrong with that?"
"Actually, it's perfect for you," Chris managed between
laughter. "A white guy who wants to be black dressing up as a white
rapper!"
"I do *not* want to be black!" Justin protested. "Why do you always
have to make fun of me, Chris?"
"Because you're such and easy target," Lance replied, walking into
the room. Not waiting for Justin to respond, the blonde continued, "Jace is
doing his eye-liner right now. He needs Joey to help him with his hair,
though."
"Why?" Joey asked, surprised that he had been requested.
"He's dying the tips electric-blue for the night. He's going as a
punk rocker or something," the Mississippian explained. "He looks damned
good doing it, too."
/I know,/ Justin agreed mentally, but decided not to say anything
aloud.
Joey headed out of the room, looking *way* too excited at the
prospect of dying JC's hair. Chris laughed as he watched the New Yorker
head upstairs. Lance just rolled his eyes.
"So, Scoop, you decided what you're going to be yet?" Chris began
bugging the younger man again.
"For the last time, I'm not dressing up!" the blonde shot back in
irritation. "I'm not even going to that stupid party with you guys, okay?
I'm staying in tonight. I'm not feeling well, and candy would only make it
worse."
"Aw, I'm sorry Poo-fu. I just really wanted you to come. C'mon,
it'll be fun! You don't even have to dress up; you can just wear black and
orange or something," Chris offered, now feeling a little bad about
bothering his bandmate so much.
Sighing, Lance replied, "Naw, I think I just want to get some rest
tonight. We've got that awards show coming up, and I don't want to get sick
or anything. It'd be best if I just stayed in."
	"Yeah, I guess you're right," the twenty-eight year-old reluctantly
agreed. Turning to Justin, he said, "Well, it's already seven; we'd better
go get ready!" With that, the two headed upstairs to get changed.

"Hit me baby one more time!" Chris sang, jumping down the last few
steps. Joey, Lance, and Justin were waiting in the living room.
"If you insist..." Lance replied, walking over to the twenty-eight
year-old menacingly.
Joey was rolling around on the floor laughing. "I can't believe
you're wearing that," he giggled, referring to the blonde wig and red
plastic catsuit the oldest member of *NSYNC had donned for the occasion.
"Well, her `Baby One More Time' look is just *so* overdone," Chris
explained.
Joey was in a Superman outfit, complete with spandex and a
cape. Lance was in a pair of sweats, looking completely out of place in the
room with the other two.
Justin walked in next, wearing a white tee-shirt and baggy
jeans. His hair had been straightened and sprayed platinum-blonde.
"Well, at least one of us dressed up as something scary," Joey
commented upon seeing the nineteen year-old.
"I don't know," Justin replied. "Chris looks pretty scary to me."
Everyone laughed, but they quickly became quiet as JC entered the
room. He now had black eyeliner and black mascara on, and his tips had been
dyed bright blue. He had elected to follow Joey's other suggestion and was
wearing a spiked collar.
"Damn," was the consensus from the group.
JC smiled happy, belying the smothering look he had going, and
said, "Well, shall we?"

Yawning, Chris made his way over to where the most people were
gathered. He was trying to round up the other guys, as it was three in the
morning and they had a concert the next day. Suddenly, Joey came running up
to him.
"Chris, have you seen JC?" the New Yorker asked, obviously amused
by something.
"No, but what's with the crowd?" Chris replied.
	"JC's pole-dancing!" Joey laughed.
The twenty-eight year-old's mouth dropped open. "Seriously?"
"Yeah," Joey answered excitedly. "I think he had too much to drink
or something `cause he's like doing the most erotic dance I've ever seen in
my life. But that's not all! Justin's there watching him. I mean, the boy's
practically drooling!"
Chris laughed. "Well, what do you expect? He looked about read to
jump Jace when we first saw him in that outfit. I can only imagine what
he's thinking now!" With that, the two *NSYNCers shoved their way through
the crowd to the front of the commotion.
There stood JC, dancing to TLC's "Red Light Special," and just
generally doing things to a pole that should never be done. At the moment,
he was in the midst of humping it or something like that.
"Whoa," Chris mumbled, shocked by what he saw. "He's playing the
slut part pretty well."
"Really well," Joey corrected. Spotting the other person they were
looking for, he pointed across the way and said, "Look, there's Justin."
Joey had been right. Justin *was* practically drooling at his
bandmate. Just then, JC walked over to the other end of the small platform
he was on, moving to stand right in front of Justin.
"This is gonna be good," Chris snickered. Joey nodded in agreement,
his eyes transfixed on the brunette in the tight leather pants.
Swaying his hips along to the music seductively, JC sang,
"I know that you want me, I can see it you eyes
You might as well be honest, `cause the body never lies
Tell me your secrets, and I'll, I'll tell you mine
I'm feeling quiet sexy, and I want you for tonight
If I move too fast, just let me know
`cause it means you move too slow
I like some excitement, and I like a man that goes-"
JC returned to the poll as he finished the song. Justin was left
staring at the brunette, his mouth slightly agape, and his eyes full of
desire. Chris and Joey laughed to themselves, watching the entire scene as
it unfolded.
When the song was finally over, Chris and Joey managed to pull JC
off the stage and away from the prying hands of the people who had been
watching him dance. For his part, JC smiled at all the catcalls he was
receiving, from both men and women, and walked out of the party willingly.
"Wow, Jace, I didn't know you had it in you," Joey commented form
his seat up front, once the four members of *NSYNC were in Chris' jeep.
"Well, everyone already thought I was a slut, so I figured, why
not? Besides, I was getting bored." JC explained.
"I hope you get bored more often," Justin mumbled to himself,
replaying the dance in his head.
JC, who was sitting next to the nineteen year-old in the back seat
wrapped his arm around the blonde's waist. "Thanks for staying there whole
time watching," he said to the youngest member of *NSYNC.
	Justin blushed.
"You watched him the entire time?" Joey exclaimed. "He did like,
eight songs!"
	Justin's blush deepened.
"He was just intrigued by JC's pelvic thrusting," Chris teased from
the driver's seat.
At this point, Justin was pretty sure that he resembled a tomato.

Finally they arrived home. The house was dark except for a dim
light that was on in the kitchen. Curiously, the front door was unlocked.
"Lance?" Joey called loudly. "Lance? We're home!"
"It's four in the morning, you idiot!" Chris scolded. "He's
probably asleep."
"Oh yeah," Joey said sheepishly. "Well, I'm gonna head up and
apologize, I guess."
"If he's not awake yet, don't wake him to do it," Chris called
after the New Yorker.
"Damn, I need something to drink," JC announced. "Why don't we go
into the kitchen where at least there's a light on."
Justin eagerly agreed, hoping to spend some more time with
JC. Especially with JC still in his `punk' outfit. Chris smirked as he
watched Justin happily follow the brunette into the kitchen.
Suddenly JC let out a scream. Justin rushed to his side, and froze
at the scene before him. Chris hurried to see what was wrong. As soon as he
did, he clasped a hand to his mouth in horror.
Lance laid on the floor of the kitchen, surrounded by a pool of
blood. He was bleeding from several wounds in his chest, and there was a
small trickle of blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.
Moving mechanically, Chris knelt down beside the Mississippian and
took his pulse. "He's dead," the twenty-eight year-old announced, his voice
void of any emotion, as was his face.
"No," Justin whispered, backing away in horror. "It can't be."
"Where's Joey?" JC suddenly asked, looking around
frantically. "Whoever did this could still be here!"
"Oh my god, oh my god," Justin was muttering to himself over and
over. The three men walked back into the living room, where they could see
up the stairs.
Suddenly there was a loud thumping noise, coming from the second
floor. A crashing sound followed, and then there was silence. Absolute,
utter silence. Until Justin began to hyperventilate.
"Josh," he whispered, his eyes wide and panicked. "Oh my god,
Josh. We could die. We could all die."
"It's okay," JC soothed. "We'll get out of here all right. Let's
just call the cops. Everything will be fine if we stick together."
"I'll go get the phone," Chris volunteered, walking into the
kitchen.
As Justin clung to the twenty-four year-old that he had been left
with, he glanced nervously. Suddenly, something out the window caught his
eye. A figure.
Terror closing off his throat, making it difficult for him to
breath, and making it impossible for him to say anything, Justin stared
mutely at the figure. However, as he realized that the window was unlocked,
his voice miraculously returned to him.
"Oh my god, the window, Josh! It's unlocked!" the nineteen year-old
shouted, pointing frantically at the glass.
JC rushed over to lock it, but it was too late, by the time he got
there the figure, dressed in all black except for the Scream-inspired mask
he was wearing, was already inside. He quickly grabbed JC, and pulled him
to his chest.
"Let him go!" Justin screeched. The figure shook his head.
JC was struggling, but he stopped when he felt something press
against his neck.
"Oh my god," Justin whispered again, his hand coming up to his
mouth in horror. A knife. Someone was holding a knife up to JC.
"Justin," JC managed to croak. "Run."
"Never!" the nineteen year-old screamed. "I'm not going to leave
you, Josh. I love you! Do you hear that? I love you! And I'm not going to
let you go!" With that, he rushed over to where the figure was holding JC
captive.
As he dove on to the masked man, Justin was someone abruptly turned
the lights on. Assuming it was Chris, coming back with the phone, Justin
continued to beat the crap out of the person in the black cloak. Suddenly,
however, he became aware of someone laughing. Pausing momentarily, he
turned to see Joey, Chris, and JC chuckling at him.
"Get off me, dumbass!" Came Lance's voice, muffled through the mask
he was wearing.
"What?" Justin asked numbly. "This was just a joke?"
Pushing the teen off of him, Lance laughed, "Yes, it was. Pretty
good, huh?" He then removed the mask and cloak he was wearing, revealing
the dirty sweats he had been wearing when he was in the kitchen.
"I can't believe this!" Justin hissed, beginning to over come his
shock. "I can't believe you guy would do this to me!"
"Aw, c'mon, Curly. It was just a prank," Chris said, still smiling.
"You're right," Justin replied. "I'd expect you to do this. You and
Joey. And Lance even. But you," he whispered, turning to his final
bandmate, tears springing up to his eyes. "How could you do that to me? I
was scared Josh, I was so scared. I was prepared to die for you, you know
that? I can't believe you'd play with my feelings like that."
Rushing over to the teen, who was now sobbing, JC pulled Justin
into a hug. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "We didn't mean for it to go this
far. We didn't think you'd believe us. I'm so sorry, Just."
"I love you Josh," the blonde replied.
Smiling, JC whispered, "I love you, too. And I think it was really
sweet of you to dive on Lance like that. I want you to know that I'd have
done the same for you."
"I love you," Justin repeated. "Never scare me like that again. I
don't want to ever believe that you're leaving me."
"I never will," the twenty-four year-old assured the young man in
his arms.
"Now that you two have finally gotten together," Chris said,
smiling at his two bandmates. "Why don't we go pig out on some of that
candy Joey has been hiding under the kitchen sink."
"What?!" Joey exclaimed. "How do you know about that?"
Lance whistled casually as he attempted to discreetly back away
from the group.
	"Lance?" the New Yorker accused.
Looking at Joey innocently, the blonde replied, "Hey, I had a long
time to wait in that kitchen before you guys got back. You called me a good
hour before you actually got here."
"Sorry about that," Joey laughed, walking with the other four into
the kitchen. "But JC was pole dancing and Justin refused to leave his
front-row seat."
Justin buried his head in his hands as he felt himself
blushing. Not this again! However, he wasn't embarrassed for long, as JC
came to his rescue. "I was doing it for Justin, he better have been there!"
the brunette claimed.
Joey laughed and pulled out his candy stash, now greatly
depleted. Everyone turned to Lance.
"It was a whole hour, okay?! An hour!" the Mississippian said
defensively. Everyone else just laughed before tearing into the bag of
goodies.

Well, there it is! It's a one-shoter, so I hoped you liked it!
Happy Halloween!
