                  HUMANITY LESSON
                  CHAPTER 2

    well this is the disclaimer that is required, i do not know the
backstreet boys or anything about them.  this is just a story that
is complete fiction and is for entertainment purposes only. that said
now onto the story.


     The Elder moved to Kevin and asks "Which of your companions shall
be taught this most difficult lesson?"

     Kevin taken back by this asks the elder "Not all of my friends can
have this teaching?"

     "No, not all for there must be a balance in all things, only two may
be taught, therfore the balance shall be even with you as the ending
influence." the Elder replied.

      "Then if I must choose again, I must ask the these two be given the
lesson for they are the ones that transgress the most." Kevin replied as he
walked over to where Nick Carter and Brian Littrel sat frozen at the
autograph table.

       Again the Elder chuckled "You have done well my son.  You have wisdom
that is beyond your tender years on this earth.  Very well these two shall
be the recepiants of my lesson of humanity."

       The younger of two figures moves over to AJ Mclean and Howie Dorough
the other frozen members of the band and inquires of his older sibling "What
shall be done with these two Elder?"

       The Elder replies "Those two shall be without the benifit of the
lesson at this time, but they shall also be affected by what shall transpire
here today.  Once the lesson is given the dynamic shall change and they may
learn this lesson on their own without my interference.  However the other
two that have been chosen, this is may be their only chance to redeem
themselves and be turn toward the greater purpose brother, therefore this a
most excelent choice that has been made."

     "Now let the lesson begin, for even though the flow of time has been
temporarily frozen, time is not a friend to us this evening."  The Elder
then
moves back over to the autograph table with the frozen entertainer sitting
and whispers "Awaken and harken unto my words for in them holds either your
salvation or your doom"

      Nick and Brian both look around the room at the scene for in their
minds they have not been party to what has already transpired.  As the
reality of what is happening begins to dawn on the two singers fear fills
their eyes for also understanding of what is happening also bores it's way
into souls.

     "You have misused the gifts that you have been given and are in danger
of losing those self same gifts.  You have been tested and have failed and
only through the generosity of spirt of you fellow companion has a chance
been made for you to redeem yourselves.  The misuse of your gift has cause
pain where pain already resided and this is not serving the purpose that it
was given to you." the Elder informed the now terrified performers.

     Brian Littel looked around the scene to which he had awoken with
confusion and fear in his eyes.  He whispers softly "What is going on here
Kevin?  What are those things?  What did  they do to us?  Why are we the
only ones movings?"  As Brian asks these questions his voice is getting more
and more panicked.

"I shall answer you queries young minstrel.  We are here to test your rite
to bear those gifts that have been given to you, and I have found that you
are lacking in using those gifts humanly.  As to these others," the Elder
waves his hand indicting all of the frozen people, "they are to be the
objects of thine lessons.  As to who were are we have been named many
things.  Furies, Muses, Gods and Demons.  We are here to serve The Purpose
and guide and instruct those to whom The Prupose has chosen.  Thy and thine
companions have been chosen for a role within The Purpose and thou has been
led astray of thine roles.  This young one is The Inspiration and you may
refer to me as The Elder.  You have approached a critical test of thine
humanity and have failed.  Your compainion has offered to pay my price to
give you a second chance, to learn from your mistakes.  This is the lesson
I shall give you, however it shall be up to do with it as yea will."

Brian and Nick swallow hard as understanding has begun to creep into the
minds and souls.  They have been judged for something and found gulity of
a crime against something.  These two beings were there judges and have
stopped time to inform them of their findings.  Appearently they were to be
given a chance to learn from this mistake,  whatever that was.  But if they
were to fail again what were to be the consequesnses?

The Elder gestures to the young men "Come to me young minstrels for this
one that thou hast injured has been chosen to be the first instrument of
your first lesson."  The Elder glides over to the crying man of thirty
indicating that this was were they were to go.

"This one is a good Warrior of The Purpose as has been used greatly by this
lifetime upon this earth.  He is serving The Purpose in many ways and is
using the gifts that he was given to help and comfort and even protect
those who are less that prepared to do so on their own.  He was called upon
to be thine test.  This one teaches a great lesson, perseverence in life.
He shall never know true happiness in this lifetime but he does not know
this and still searches for somthing he shall never find, however he gives
of himself without question.  This is his lesson that he learns and thou
would do well to learn this lesson also."

The Elder reaches out to the man's face and picks up a tear that is freely
running down the man's cheek.  "This is the result of thine failure in
taking to heart thine own lessons young ones.  There was to be a healing of
this ones heart to fortify his spirit for tests that yet await this warrior
of the right, but now his life and soul may be forfet to Tthe Purpose.
This is the result of thine own actions and it shall be up to you, the ones
that have done this harm to rectify thine own mistakes.  To acomplish this
I shall reveal this ones heart to thee in hopes that this will show you
your own roles in The Purpose."

The Elder whispers again to the crying man "Awaken my warrior."

The young man again able to perceive what is going on around him turns to
The Elder and says, "Elder, how may I serve?

"Young one, fear not for this is not a lesson you must learn, but this shall
still cause thee great pain.  The lesson that must be taught is to these
young minstrels and you have been chosen to be the object of this lesson."
the Elder emparts to the man.

Christian, the man, absorbs this knowledge gratefull that he is not to be
tested again, for his soul is tired and very weary from the last testing,
asks the Elder "May i ask a boon from thee Master?  Let me not remember this
lesson,  for I know what shall be required of me.  It is a burdon that my
soul may not carry I think."

The Elder chuckles again.  "Yes my son your boon shall be granted, for you
above all are most deserving of this.  You shall not has knowledge of will
transpire in this teaching, however this shall only be done after the lesson
has been taught."

The elder then turn to the young singers that have been watching the
exchange with mixed feelings of confusion and wonder.  How did this man,
Christian, know the two figure that had confronted them, how was Christian
to teach them this lesson, and what had he done that he could ask that the
memory of what was to happen be erased from his mind?  Why would he ask
this in the first place?  What was going to happen that he did not wish to
remember?

Kevin the leader of this group of singers whispers "What shall be the price
that I must pay Elder?"

The Elder turns to Kevin and answers "That shall be determined also after
the lesson has finished."

"Now look upon what I shall show you." the Elder announces to the assembled
group.  A mist begins to form upon the floor.  The mist begins to get
thicker and thicker until the center begins to clear and a scene begins to
take shape within the circle.

The only sound that could be heard at that moment is Christian taking in a
deep breath and a light wimmper escaping his lips.  Kevin moves over to
Christian and whispers "What is wrong?"

Christian turns to the young dark headed man and says "That is where is grew
up.  This is why I asked that I remember none of what shall transpire here
today.  I don't know if I can take reliving this agian!"

The tears that had stopped flowing down Christian's face began anew as the
scene in the mist finished forming.   All attention of those in the frozen
mall were focoused unpon the scene, each with different emotions turning
within their souls.

Well dear reader this is the next instalment out of my fevered imagination>
This story is proving more difficult to write and deal with than I had
expected.  I appreciate all of the kind comments that I received on the
first
chapter and I sincerly hope that more will be forthcoming. Also if any one
has any suggestions they would be most welcome.  MY email addy is

in the boybands chat for all of their help with my questions and bad
spelling.  I hope to get the next chapter out soon but i have a feeling that
the next chapter will be even harder to write than this one so please bear
