The Dreams That You Dared To Dream - Chapter Twelve

Jamie, Zack and Justin sat relaxed on the back porch enjoying a late
morning breeze. The hint of humid heat promised another scorching
afternoon. They sat in the shade sipping on cool drinks and talking
companionably. Jamie sat with Justin on the porch swing, a hand resting
casually on Justin's thigh. Justin had his arm along the back of the seat
around Jamie's shoulders. Zack sat in a nearby chair.

"So what's on the schedule for today?" Zack asked.

"Well, today is completely off for all of us, so anything we want, really,"
Justin answered. "I guess we won't see much of the guys until later since
they got in only a couple of hours ago."

Fate had to prove him wrong after having said that as Joey and Chris came
out on the porch from the back door. "Hey guys, so what's going on today?"
Joey asked.

"We were just talking about that," Jamie answered him. "Joey, Chris, you
remember Zack." They shook hands and exchanged greetings.

"So what took you so long getting over here?" Justin joked sarcastically.

"Aw, Chris. It sounds like he's teasing us. We missed ya, Curly." Joey
gave a puppy dog face to Justin who just laughed.

"No, that's not it," Chris said arrogantly. "We missed Jamie." He
chuckled insanely and hopped onto Jamie's lap.

"Aw, I missed you too, Papa Smurf," Jamie said with a smirk and kissed
Chris on the cheek.

Lance and JC came out on the porch just then. "Hey, what's going on?"
Lance asked. "Chris, get off of him before you squish him."

"That sounded to me like you just called me fat. I'd get going if I were
you Mr. Bass, I'll show you how heavy I am." Chris jumped off of Jamie but
before his feet touched the deck Lance was already sprinting down the steps
and into the yard.

"Don't hurt him too bad, Chris, we still need him for two more months,"
Justin yelled.

Chris chased Lance across the yard both of them cackling with glee. Lance
angled around the pool, skirting the corner closely and bolted into the
pool house just ahead of Chris and slammed the door in his face.

"Bass, you get out here right now!" Chris pounded on the door and tried
the knob to find it locked.

"Chris, I'm sorry that I implied you're fat but I'm not coming out unless
you promise to leave me alone"

"Apology accepted, but punishment will still happen. I'm staying right
here until you come out of there."

Justin waved to Chris and motioned around to the side the building. The
pool house was two separate rooms, one a small bathroom with a shower and
the other holding a fridge, towels and a place to store the lawn furniture.
Each was connected by a door and had it's own outside entrance.

Chris winked at Justin and nodded. "Come on out!" he hollered again
pounding on the door.

"No! Not until you promise," Lance answered.

Chris quietly rounded the building. After a minute they heard a terrified
squawk from Lance and the door opened quickly and Lance fell out on his
stomach onto the grass. Chris jumped down and sat on his butt and held his
shoulders down.

"There, I got you now." Lance tried to buck him off but Chris had leverage
and the advantage. "So, you ever gonna say I'm fat again? Say 'Chris
isn't fat, he's got the body of a god.'"

"Get off me!"

Chris smiled and bounced up and down on Lance making him grunt. "Wrong
answer. Say it."

"I'm not gonna say that!" Lance moaned as Chris bounced some more.
Everyone joined them in the yard. Joey was trying to take bets on how long
Lance would hold out.

"I'll accept uncle then, it will mean the same thing." Chris bounced some
more making Lance gasp for air.

"Get off me, I can't breathe. I give... UNCLE!"

"Here," JC said offering his hand to Chris to help him off Lance. Chris
accepted and suddenly found himself in a fireman's carry over JC's
shoulder. "Chris, don't do that to my boyfriend," JC said neutrally before
dumping Chris into the pool.

Justin helped Lance off the ground as they heard the splash. Lance dusted
some grass off himself and went to the side of the pool to giggle at Chris.
"See, that's what you get." Lance gave JC a smooch. "Thanks, sugar."

"I give up. Help me out of here, Lance," Chris called.

"Ok, but no funny business." Lance reached down and grabbed Chris by the
hand. When he was halfway out of the pool he went limp trying to drag
Lance in with him. Lance was expecting this and had his feet planted and
Chris simple hung there.

"Oh this is way too easy," Jamie murmured. "Bass is a fish... a fish goes
in water." He casually pushed Lance's butt with his bare foot sending him
over Chris with a shout.

"Jamie, I really wish you hadn't done that," JC said and made to shove
Jamie after Lance. Jamie was faster and managed to shoulder JC on top of
Chris who was crawling out of the pool, sending them both in.

"When will they ever learn," Joey said suddenly beside Jamie. They
struggled on the edge of the pool trying to throw the other in.

Zack and Justin looked to each other. "Team?" Zack asked. Justin nodded
and they both pushed Joey and Jamie into the pool. Chris reached up and
grabbed Zack's ankle and pulled. Zack teetered on the edge losing his
balance throwing a hand out for Justin's help. Justin smiled and waved as
Zack went over.

"There, seems y'all need to learn who's the boss around here."

"Yes you do, Justin," a woman's voice answered him. Justin spun around
just in time to see his mother push him firmly with a smile on her face.
They all laughed at the shocked expression on his face as he fell backwards
into the water.

"Now that you boys are all cooled off, I brought you some pizza for lunch.
Get dried off, I'll be inside," Lynn said with a smirk before heading into
the house.

"You heard her men, lunch awaits," Joey said

They got out of the pool like a pack of drowned rats and started stripping
down to their underpants as Jamie brought out towels. Once they were all
drier and had the towels wrapped around their waists they picked up their
clothes and headed into the house.

Justin leaned into Jamie. "Geez, Zack has a build on him," he whispered.
Jamie glanced over at Zack walking next to JC. Although they were same
height and had the same hair color that's where all similarity ended. JC
had the slim physique of a tightly muscled runner while Zack had the wide
bulky build of a gymnast or wrestler.

"There were three places we could always find Zack on campus: a practice
room, the gym or the cafeteria," Jamie joked.

"It looks like he spent alot of time in the gym," Justin admired.

Jamie nodded. "Ya, he's a little too muscly for me though. I like sleek,
gorgeous tenors better."

Justin smiled. "And I seem to have a thing for thin, sexy guitar players,
go figure." He put his arm around Jamie's shoulders as they entered the
house behind everyone else.

------

Later that afternoon everybody was scattered around the house taking naps
except for Zack who chose to work out on Justin's weights in the garage.
He had the most sleep of them all and didn't feel the need to lay down.

Jamie had said goodbye to Lynn who was heading out to LA for the week. She
promised to call him when she got back so they could get together. He
suspected that it was Justin's doing, but it was all good. Justin was just
looking out for him and Lynn was as well.

Justin was lightly snoring next to him. He had his head on Jamie's chest
and had wrapped himself around Jamie with his arms and legs so he couldn't
move. How clingy he was while sleeping was one of the things Jamie loved
about Justin. It made him feel wanted and loved, safe and protected.
Jamie couldn't wait until tomorrow night when he could run his fingers
through Justin's curls. Justin would have Rhonda, his hairdresser, take
the corn rows out before the show.

Jamie thought of all the possible futures with Justin as he stroked the
soft skin of Justin's shoulder. He knew deep down that he'd be the settled
one and Justin would be the traveler. This didn't bother Jamie at all and
sounded fine to him. Jamie had always been a 'nesting' type of person and
he'd gladly wait for Justin to come home any day.

It was true that life was less than perfect with 'NSync. They traveled
alot and were constantly busy. Jamie knew that the rest of the summer
would be hell for them and felt sorry for causing Justin to have to choose
between him and free time.

A soft knock on the door caught his attention. "Jamie, are you awake?"
Lances deep soft voice called.

"Come on in, Lance."

Lance quietly walked in, closing the door behind him. He stopped halfway
into the room looking at the carpet.

Jamie giggled softly. "It's ok, Lance, we have our briefs on."

Lance smiled and went and sat on Jamie's side of the bed. "I don't want to
interrupt but I was the only one up and got lonely."

"That's ok, I wasn't sleeping either but it's not like I'm going anywhere."
Jamie waved his one free arm and smiled.

Lance glanced over to Justin and smiled. "He's so cute when he sleeps. I
know all about the octopus." Jamie glanced at Lance confused. Lance
sighed. "When we were first starting out we all had nightmares at one
point or another and would go to whoever for comfort. The dreams mostly
hit Justin, probably because he was the youngest and had alot of pressure
on him from the start. He would either crawl into bed with me or Josh.
He's always been clingy like that when he sleeps."

"And who would you crawl into bed with?" Jamie asked with a smirk.

Lance blushed. "Either Joe or Josh."

"Either?"

"Mostly Josh, even then I think I was attracted to him. But Joe is the
perfect big brother and he never complained about holding one of us at
night if we needed it."

"I've noticed that. He's more sensitive than he lets on."

Lance nodded. "It has something to do with being Italian, I think. Hard
on the outside and soft as marshmallows inside, his father is the same
way."

They sat in silence for a minute. Jamie reached over and took Lance's
hand. "How are you and Josh?"

"We're fine, I guess." Lance sighed deeply. "Most of the time it's as if
nothing is wrong, then without warning Josh will retreat inside himself and
lock himself away somewhere. I'm really worried."

"I'll try to talk to him today or tomorrow and see if he won't open up to
me, or at least give me a hint about what's wrong."

"Thanks, I appreciate that. How about you? I really wish you could stay
with us this summer."

"Lance, I can't."

"Oh, I know and understand completely. I'll just miss you, that's all."

Justin started moving and lifted his head. "What's going on?" he asked in
a sleepy voice.

"Nothing, cutie. I'm gonna go get something to drink, you want something?"

"No," Justin replied softly almost back to sleep. He let Jamie slip out of
his arms and grabbed Jamie's pillow, snuggling up to it with a smile as
Jamie kissed his forehead. He grabbed a T-Shirt and left the bedroom with
Lance.

Jamie and Lance quietly made their way downstairs. Joey and Chris were
still asleep in the living room, each on a couch. Chris' loud snores made
them laugh. Lance sat at the counter bar while Jamie got two glasses of
milk and the Oreos. They sat and ate talking about the rest of the tour
and planned for Jamie's visit out to Los Angeles.

Zack came strolling through the kitchen and grabbed a cookie. "Hey guys!"

Jamie's mouth went dry and Lance's eyes popped out. Zack was sweaty from
his workout clad only in sheer clingy nylon shorts. His muscles were
pumped and gleaming.

"Good workout?" Jamie managed to ask.

"Ya, got a good burn going. Well, I'm off to soak for awhile in the
bathtub so I don't get stiff." He waved and was gone.

"My God!" Lance exclaimed when they heard the bathroom door close. "How do
you stand it?"

Jamie laughed. "Well, let's just say it's like you having the same
thoughts about Joey." Lance made a sour face. "Ya, exactly. Although a
couple of years ago I did have crush on him but was too scared to do
anything about it. Plus he didn't even tell me he was Bi until last
November."

Lance laughed. "Bet you're kicking yourself now."

Jamie thought for a minute. "Not really. I like Zack alot, but I don't
think we would've made it as a couple in the long run. I'm perfectly happy
with what I got. Plus all those muscles really don't do much for me."

"I happen to like muscles."

"So I see. Josh is pretty muscular too, but in a different way."

Lance nodded wistfully. "Yes he is. He doesn't look it, he's so thin, but
he is pretty strong."

"Ya, you can feel that in him when you hug him. Other than that he looks
like a stiff breeze would blow him away."

They laughed and continued talking about what would happen after the tour.
"Jamie, can I ask you something serious?" Lance asked after awhile.

"Sure Lance, you know you can ask me anything."

"It hasn't been easy for me since Josh proposed. His choice was so
obvious, but I'm having a real problem." Lance fidgeted in his chair and
suddenly looked very uncomfortable.

"Lance, what is it? You're getting me concerned." Jamie reached over and
took Lance's hand.

"Would you be my best man at our wedding?" he rushed out.

Jamie blinked at him. "Lance, I'm honored, of course I would. But why
me?"

"Josh, of course, chose Justin. No surprise there, which left me having to
make a choice between Joey and Chris. I just can't make that decision. I
feel just as close to you as I do them and honestly I feel like you're
becoming my best friend."

Jamie leaned over and hugged Lance who hugged him back. "I'll be glad to
stand with you, I feel like you're my best friend too. I can't promise
that I can return the favor though."

"No, I didn't ask with that in mind. I understand, you do have two
brothers."

"I don't think Phil would mind either way, but Dan would put me in traction
if I didn't ask him," he chuckled. "How did Josh deal with not asking
Tyler?"

Lance shrugged. "Tyler knows that Josh is closer to Justin. Josh hasn't
been home alot these last 8 years so they never had the chance to become
that close. The six year age difference really has alot to do with it. So
does this mean that you two are talking about it?"

Jamie blushed. "A little, ya. I've been doing alot of thinking. I would
really love nothing more, but I don't know if we're ready yet. I know if
he asked me I'd say yes."

"Believe me, Justin feels the same way, I know it. That's a sure sign
you're both ready."

Jamie smiled and they hugged again. "I guess you're right."

They were interrupted by the phone. Jamie reached over and hit the speaker
button. "Hello, got you on speaker."

"Hello, is Jamie Campbell there please?" Justin's voice asked with a
giggle.

"Yes, I'm here. What can I do for you?" he laughed.

"Your presence is requested in the bedroom by your boyfriend."

"Oh really?"

"Yes, really. Come alone and lock the door on your way in. See you soon."
Justin clicked out of the call.

Jamie was blushing as he hit the phone's off button. His blush deepened
when he saw Lance laughing at him with a wide smirk.

"Don't say a thing."

"Who me?" Lance said innocently. "I'll just go downstairs and see if Josh
is -lonely- as well."

They hugged and went their separate ways. Jamie went upstairs and into the
master bedroom locking the door behind him.

"Here as request..." he started but broke off with a gulp. Justin was
laying on the bed completely naked stroking his hard cock. Jamie slowly
walked to the bed shedding his shirt and boxers along the way.

"And what's up with this, huh?" he smiled at his boyfriend.

"I woke up and Mr. PeePee got a little happy, he missed you."

"Mr. PeePee?"

"That's what I called him when I was little."

"And I'm only finding this out now?" Jamie laughed. Justin shrugged and
smiled his 'look at me I'm cute' smile at Jamie. "Damn your sexy."

"I could say the same about you. You look great standing there with a
hardon."

Jamie blushed and noticed his excitement as well. "You do that to me." He
started crawling up the foot of the bed, Justin spread his legs to give him
room. Jamie's hands rubbed from Justin's feet up past his shins and onto
his thighs bringing a moan.

He leaned down and licked a path up the inside of one thigh. Ignoring
Justin's moans he continued up to his balls and lapped at them. Justin's
fingers were a blur on his cock as he groaned in pleasure. Jamie rubbed
his erection against Justin's leg while he sucked and licked making Justin
shiver.

"Oh, sweet pea, I'm close," Justin gasped.

Jamie removed Justin's hand and took half of Justin's length into his mouth
in one swipe then bobbed up and down on it. Justin's fingers wrapped
themselves in Jamie's hair as he went stiff at the sensations. He thrust
with his hips once before shooting into Jamie's mouth.

Justin cried out as his orgasm ripped through his body. "Uh... uh... oh
God... " he moaned as he shuddered repeatedly. When the spasms had ceased,
Jamie pulled off and lay down on Justin to kiss him. Justin was breathing
heavy as he kissed Jamie back.

"Your turn," he panted. He pulled Jamie up until Jamie was straddling his
chest. With two strong hands on Jamie's hips he pulled him forward until
his cock went straight into his mouth.

Jamie got up on his knees and grabbed the headboard to get better leverage.
He gasped as Justin started sucking hard with his mouth and tongue while
pushing and pulling his hips urging him to thrust. Jamie took over and
started gently fucking Justin's mouth and throat. He was a little
concerned at first but from the contented moans coming from Justin, he
realized that Justin was enjoying it as much as he was.

Jamie was on overload and it didn't take him long to feel his climax
building. "Oh, baby. Ya, suck me, I'm gonna cum," he gasped. Justin
grabbed his hips tightly and forced him to push deeply into his throat. He
spasmed and the world went spinning away.

The next thing Jamie knew he was laying on his back, Justin lightly kissing
his neck and shoulder beside him. "What happened?" His heart was pounding
and he was breathing heavily.

Justin chuckled. "Well you kinda blacked out for a second there. I don't
think I've seen you cum so hard before."

Jamie smiled and kissed Justin lovingly. "I love you so much."

"Love you too, sweet pea." They lay cuddled together until Jamie had
recovered.

"Let's go take a shower and see what everyone else is up to."

They took a quick shower together and dressed and found Chris and Joey
sitting in the kitchen eating the rest of the Oreos.

"Have a good nap?" Joey asked with a slight hint of sarcasm.

Before either of them could answer Lance and JC joined them from
downstairs. "I'd say they did," JC said innocently.

Jamie looked at Justin with a question on his face. "Well, you were a
little noisy..." Justin trailed off. Jamie blushed a deep red and hid his
face on Justin's shoulder.

"A little?" Zack joked joining them.

"What did I say?" Jamie stood looking around the room.

Lance saw his distress and hugged him tightly. "You just said 'Oh Justin'
that's all."

"Ya, but at the top of his lungs," laughed Joey.

"Ok, enough teasing. Now you're being mean," Chris chastised.

"I'm so mortified."

"Nah, don't be. It was kinda nice to hear, didn't know Justin had it in
him," laughed Joey.

"Watch it, Fatone, or you'll get another trip into the pool," Justin
threatened.

"I'm surprised anyone but Zack heard anything. JC and Lance were making
enough noise of their own," Chris jibed taking the heat away from Jamie and
Justin.

JC sputtered while Lance turned beet red.

"Nice color, Scoop," Justin commented. Jamie poked him in the side to stop
him from teasing.

"How about we go downstairs and relax," Chris suggested.

They gathered in the game room. A game of foosball started while the
others played cards. After a few hours Joey's stomach reminded them of the
time.

"Hey, how about dinner. It's getting late."

"What does everyone feel like?" Justin asked.

"How about Chinese?" JC suggested.

"How come I'm not surprised," Chris laughed.

Everyone agreed and wrote down what they wanted on a piece of paper. Justin
called in the order and JC volunteered to go get it.

"I'll tag along with you, Josh," Jamie offered.

"Sure, Jamie."

They both left after kissing their boyfriends goodbye and got into JC's
Jeep. As they pulled away from the house Jamie decided to see if he could
get JC to open up.

"Josh, we haven't had a chance to sit and talk together for awhile. I miss
that."

JC smiled at him. "Same here. Any chance of you being around more the
next month?"

"Lance and I are planning out a weekend, probably when you're out in LA."

"That's good. I know Justin will miss you, but I will too."

"So, how are you doing? Last weekend was a real kicker."

"I'm ok, Jamie. With the tour I really don't have alot of time to think of
much else."

"I understand that." He sat waiting for JC to open up a little more.

"I now know how Lance felt when he told his parents. It really hurt
Jamie."

"I know, it's never easy to get a reaction like that. Don't worry, they'll
come around. Lynn said she was talking with your mother yesterday and it's
looking better."

JC pulled up into the restaurant parking lot and rubbed his face with his
hands. "I just don't understand how they can be fine with you and Justin
and Tyler's friends but not about me. It hurts so bad." JC broke down and
the tears started.

Jamie leaned over and hugged him tightly. "I know, Josh. They just need
time."

"Jamie, have you ever felt like you weren't good enough sometimes?"

'Ah, here's the heart of JC's problems,' Jamie thought. "Do you feel that
way?"

JC nodded sadly. "Sometimes I feel like one day Lance is going to find
someone better."

"Josh, you honestly don't believe that do you?"

"Just sometimes. Have you felt that way?"

"I did once. That was what happened in December..." Jamie trailed off
sadly.

"Oh, so that's what was in your mind."

"Ya, I felt like I wasn't worthy for Justin and that he could do so much
better than me and all my troubles. I wasn't ever more wrong."

"So you think I'm wrong too?"

"Dead wrong," Jamie chuckled. "Josh, Lance loves you with all his heart.
He doesn't compare you to anybody and doesn't look at you like you're just
ok for now."

JC was silent as the tears flowed.

"You know that deep down, I can tell you do."

"Yes and it scares me to death that I won't live up to that."

"You stay here, I'll go get the food." JC nodded and Jamie left. After a
few minutes he returned with two large bags. JC still had tears in his
eyes when he got back into the passenger seat.

"You ok to drive?"

"Ya, sorry about this," Josh nodded. "I guess it's affected me more than I
realized."

"Josh, it's ok to have feelings about these things. Lance is there to help
you and share the pain with you."

"Oh, I know that." JC paused before starting up the Jeep. "We'd better
get back."

"JC, these feelings will kill your from the inside unless you talk about
them."

"So you saying I should start seeing a therapist?"

"Listen, it took me two months seeing Leslie twice a week to get over them
myself. I'm not saying you need counseling, but if you need to talk you
should do it. Whether it's Lance, Justin, me or anyone else, don't hold it
all inside. We care about you, all of us."

JC nodded and looked at Jamie sadly. Jamie leaned over and gave JC a short
friendly kiss on the lips. "Let's go deliver some food."

JC pulled out of the lot. "Thanks Jamie. I needed to hear all that."

"That's ok, Josh. I'm your friend and if you ever need to unload I'm here
for you."

They arrived back at the house and dropped the food on the dining room
table. Jamie called down and the stampede started. JC grabbed Lance from
the mob and pulled him into a tight embrace. Lance glanced at Jamie over
his shoulder and mouthed a thank you.

Everyone settled down and started eating. There was more than enough for
everyone and soon Jamie felt full enough to explode. He sat holding
Justin's hand as they bantered around the table.

The doorbell sounded and Jamie got up to answer it. "I'll get it," he
reassured Justin and made his way to the door. He stood in shocked silence
at the figure on the doorstep.

"Hi, Jamie. I'd like to speak to you and Justin, if I could."

Jamie stood unmoving in bewilderment.

"Sweet pea, who is it?" Justin asked coming to the door. He stopped dead
and turned deathly pale. "Daddy?"
