Subject: Nick and Ashley-Chapter 6

DISCLAIMER: I don't know O-town and am not implying anything. I am not
affiliated with them, J records, ABC or MTV or anything. The only thing I
have remotely in common with these guys is that Ashley Parker Angel and I
were born on the exact same day.

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Thank you very much for the emails encouraging me and
everything. Thanks also for the grammatical fixes in a few (you know who
you are). Grab some popcorn...onto the show!

Nick and Ashley: Chapter Six

Ashley woke up at about 8:30 AM...30 minutes before he had to be up for
tour preparations. He cursed his internal alarm clock and in the meantime
he cursed early morning practices and preparations for giving him this
internal clock.  Ashley heard a moan from next to him and he looked down to
see a beautiful specimen lying there wrapped in the white hotel
sheets. Ashley then remembered that this was his boyfriend and a smile came
to his face.

'What did I do to deserve something so good?' Ashley thought to himself.

Ashley leaned down and placed a soft kiss on the side of Nick's forehead.

"If I could be woken up like that everyday I would be a happy man." Nick
said through closed eyes.

"Good morning Nicky." Ashley said happily.

"Morning Ash." Nick replied.

"Sleep well?" Ashley asked him

"As long as I'm sleeping next to you then I'll be ok." Nick said

Ashley leaned in began to kiss Nick very deeply. Almost immediately after
he flicked his tongue at Nick's lips to allow entrance the phone rang.

"Ugh! What great timing!" Ashley said sarcastically as he picked up the
phone and said "Hello?" in a very curt tone letting the other end of the
phone know that he was obviously mad at the call.

What Ashley didn't realize was that the other line consisted of a person
who didn't care what tone you answered the phone in.

"Ashley it's Kevin...breakfast in my room at 9. Since I couldn't get
through to Nick and he's never up before 10, I'm assuming he's there so
tell him about it too."  Kevin said as he hung up the phone.

"He's just a symbol of cheer huh?" Ashley asked Nick.

"Don't worry about Kev, he's just our father." Nick said.

"Yeah well I'll have to fill you in on my relationships with my fathers."
Ashley said as he looked towards the window that lead out to the balcony.

"I'd love to hear about it if you wanna tell me" Nick said supportively.

"I'll tell you, but not now...I always get emotional." Ashley said
honestly.

"How about over lunch today? I wanna take you out so we can just
talk. We've got a break at about 2:00 and I already cleared it with
management so I'm going to treat you to lunch." Nick said

"Management is gonna let us go out by ourselves?" Ashley asked

"As long as we wear a hat and sunglasses" Nick said laughing

Ashley laughed at first then stopped and looked at Nick.

"Thank you Nick. There's nothing more that I enjoy then spending time with
you."  Ashley said honestly.

"Don't worry about it. So how much time do we have before Kevin the
Conqueror wants us in there?" Nick asked

"About 20 minutes" Ashley responded.

"Good...enough time for a shower." Nick said with a sly grin on his face.

"By the smile on your face I'm guessing this is going to be a community
shower." Ashley said laughing.

"Is that ok with you?" Nick asked

"Let's go" Ashley said excitedly.

Both men got up out of bed and Ashley went into the bathroom to turn on the
shower to get it hot. He came back out and saw Nick standing there
completely naked waiting for the signal. Ashley stopped and just stared at
his naked boyfriend and marveled at the beautiful site.

"See something you like?" Nick asked seductively

"Oh yeah." Ashley said as he stared down Nick.

Nick walked over and began to very seductively trace his fingers around
Ashley's stomach muscles. He ran his fingers on the inside of the lining of

Both men got out of the shower and got dressed quickly-Ashley in jeans and
a white t- shirt and Nick in khakis and a blue long-sleeve shirt and headed
down the hall to Kevin's room.

They knocked and went in on the command of Kevin and all of the guys were
in there waiting.

"Sorry guys got held up." Ashley said his famous line to the guys

"Oh no now he's infected Nick with his lateness disease!" Erik joked.

"Alright, alright guys just c'mon in. Grab some food and sit down." Kevin
said in a fatherly tone.

All of the guys laughed as Ashley grabbed a plate of food of pretty much
whatever was left with 2 servings and sat down on a couch and Nick sat on
the floor in between his legs.

"C'mon guys back off. What's going on everyone?" Ashley said as he fed a
piece of pancake to Nick's hungry, waiting mouth.

"I just wanted to run over the schedule for today." Kevin started with a
clipboard in his hands. "We have to board the buses at 10 and rehearsal
starts at 10:30 at the venue. Once we've got all of our steps down, we'll
break for lunch around 2 and then we'll start with sound check and makeup
and wardrobe and all that at around 4:30."

"Why is everything so early today Kev?" AJ asked

"Tonight's show is a 5:00 start as opposed to our usual 7 or 8" Kevin
stated.

"That means we'll get done early too, right?" AJ asked excitedly

"Yes AJ" Kevin said, as he knew where this conversation was going already.

"CLUB TONIGHT!!! I'm hitting up the party scene tonight and I want as many
of you with me as we can get. Let's show NC how it's done" AJ said proudly

"Alright boys, that's fine if you go out but just be careful and remember
that we have another show tomorrow at a different venue in this state but
at the normal time so don't go too crazy." Kevin said. "Alright boys that's
it from me."

Rehearsal seemed to go slower than usual. Erik was messing up his steps
again, which was nothing new to the boys of O-town. As they rehearsed the
steps to "Every Six Seconds" for the 5th time in a row Ashley caught a
figure in the back of the auditorium.  The figure was tall and slender and
seemed to watch very intently every move that Ashley did. Ashley loved to
have people watch him so he decided to go all out on this next take and
truly give it his all for this next song.

"Alright guys, that's good enough I guess." Josh said to the boys "Good job
on that last song Ash. Whatever gave you that inspiration to finish strong,
keep it around."

"Thanks Josh." Ashley said as he headed to the back of the auditorium with
a water bottle in hand. He approached the lone figure in the back of the
room.

"Hey stranger...come here often?" Ashley joked as he looked at his
boyfriend Nick Carter.

"I was wondering when you were gonna notice I was here." Nick said with a
grin on his face.

"Did you hear what Josh said? I have to keep you around." Ashley said

"I was wondering why you were pushing yourself on that last song extra
hard.  I'm glad your choreographer approves of us. " Nick said jokingly.

"I figured I would give you a show." Ashley said

"Thanks. Are you ready for lunch?" Nick asked.

"Yeah but we just gotta run back to the room so I can grab my hat and
sunglasses" Ashley said.

"Not needed. I went out and bought you a hat." Nick said as he took out a
yellow UCal hat and fit it on Ashley's head backwards. "Damn you look sexy
with a backwards hat" Nick added

"Nick, you didn't have to." Ashley said

"I wanted to." Nick said. "Here I grabbed these off your dresser this
morning cuz I had a feeling you'd forget them." Nick said as he handed
Ashley his sunglasses.

"I'm glad someone's taking care of me." Ashley said laughing.

"C'mon let's go" Nick said.

Ashley followed Nick out to the parking lot as the blond man in front of
him stopped him in front of a black Dodge Durango.

"Nice ride Nick." Ashley said

"Thanks. I love Durangos. Hop in." Nick said.

It was only about 5 minutes to a nearby sandwich restaurant. Nick went in
armed with a baby blue UNC Tar Heels hat with black Oakleys over his eyes.
He quick slipped into the management office and after a few autographs and
a little cash in the pocket a table was set up for them in the very corner
of the restaurant, leaving very little room for anyone to notice them.

Both men were seated and the waitress came over and without even looking up
said in a very boring tone, "Hi my name is Jamie, I'll be your waitress
today. What can I get you to drink?"  After saying this she looked up and
saw the two popular young men who had taken off their sunglasses to read
the menu. After recognizing both men Jamie looked as if she was about to
freak out and scream to the entire restaurant about her new find. Nick put
a finger to his lips and with a "shhh" Jamie was quiet. Nick pulled out a
permanent marker out of his pocket and signed his napkin. He passed it over
to Ashley and he signed it and handed it to the waitress.

"I'll have a Coke and the Chicken Sandwich." Nick said.

"Give me a Sprite and the Turkey Pitch. Thanks." Ashley said.

The waitress took the menus and headed towards the kitchen.

"Pitch?" Nick gave Ashley a questioning glance.

"I usually don't see it anywhere but back home. It's a turkey sandwich with
Thousand Island dressing and some other stuff. It's so good." Ashley said

"I'll have to take your word for it. So back home is Redding, California
right?" Nick asked

"Yup yup, good ol' Redding." Ashley said with a sarcastic tone.

"Not too fond of the hometown I guess?" Nick asked

"The hometown is great. I love the people in it. It's just a certain one or
two that ruin it." Ashley said.

"The parents?" Nick asked

"Yeah." Ashley said "I won't hold anything back for you Nick. My parents
got divorced when I was a kid...very young. My mom remarried my
stepfather. He was always pretty supportive up until I told him I got the
job for Making The Band. I'll never forget the look he gave me. It was a
look of disappointment. For the next hour he lectured me on what a bad move
it would be. He told me he would change the channel if he saw me on TV."
Ashley confessed.

"I'm sorry Ash. I didn't mean to bring up some bad memories." Nick said

"No it's ok I want you to know this stuff." Ashley said as he wiped a few
tears away from his eyes.

"I want you to know that I'm always here for you Ash. I mean it." Nick said
honestly.

"Thanks Nick." Ashley said.

"What's the TV show like speaking of that?" Nick asked

"It's cool, lack of privacy sucks but the fans really make a connection to
us when they can actually follow our days." Ashley said

The food came out and the boys started to dig in. The conversation
continued, both guys telling each other about their childhoods and
everything that they wanted to fill the other in on. Ashley needed this in
his life. He needed a friend and the fact that this friend was his lover
added to the excitement. Sometimes the 4 other boys of O-town seemed too
busy with band stuff to take the time out to just be friends these days.
Ashley's newfound person to share his life with seemed to point him in the
right way.

Jamie put the check down on the table and Nick put his hand on it right
away.

"Nick you don't have to." Ashley said.

"Like I said before...I want to" Nick responded.

Nick paid for the check and both men were on their way back to the venue to
prepare for the show that night.
