I don't know any of the members of NSYNC, BSB or any celebrity mentioned.  I
don't know anything about their sexual orientation or the orientation of any
other celebrities in this story (even though I wish some of them were gay).
This story is fiction and you shouldn't take it for anything else but that.
This is only for entertainment value only folks.  Hope you enjoy the show oh

The Power Within

Chapter -- 3

// Back Underground -- The Private Sector -- TimberWolf and Eclipse Unit //

"So do you think we will ever have a normal life again?"  Eclipse asks,
lying on the cot in the room.

"With the way the world has turned out so far no."  TimberWolf answers him,
sliding closer to Eclipse, wrapping his arms around him.

"Where did things go wrong in the world?"  Eclipse asks, scooting closer to
TimberWolf, inhaling his manly scent.

"I don't know baby.  That's something I never stopped to find out."
TimberWolf replies as a strange sound filled the room.  "What's that noise?"

"I don't know baby, but maybe we should go find out."  Eclipse says as he
grabs TimberWolf and the two of them fly out of the room.

// Down in the Main Area //

"What's going on?"  Eclipse asks as he and TimberWolf lands.  "What's that
noise?"

"That's the intruder alarm Eclipse."  Braun says as he, Firefox and Chance
run up some stairs.  "Someone that doesn't have access to be here has gotten
in."

"How do you keep track of everyone that is supposed to be here?"  TimberWolf
asks.

"This computer here can track DNA like other information.  Once we input
your DNA pattern into the computer you are one of us."  Firefox says.

"One of who?  Who are you guys, some kind of organization, group or
something?"  Eclipse asks.

"We are X-Sync."  Firefox says, pressing some keys on the keyboard as the
noise stops and the lights start flashing.  "Sanctuary under code yellow
alert, please report any suspicious beings to X-Sync."

"I thought this place was for mutants and suspected mutants, why are you
having people on the look out?"  Eclipse asks.

"This place is for mutants and suspected mutants, but someone can get down
here and try to infiltrate us.  I said the Hounds or the Sentinels couldn't
track us or find us down here, I said nothing about them not trying to
infiltrate us."  Firefox says, walking away from the control panel.

"Didn't you say those things were mutants that were brainwashed?"
TimberWolf asks, puling Eclipse closer to him.

"Yes I did say that."  Firefox says, turning towards TimberWolf.  "That
doesn't mean I or any of the others want them down here able to hurt us
either."

"Well I am not trying to be nosey or anything but could you tell me about
this Dreamer person you and Brian were talking about?"  Eclipse asks,
looking at Chance and Firefox.

"Dreamer is our son."  Firefox says, laying his head on Chance's shoulder.

"And he's one of those Hounds?"  TimberWolf ask.

"Yeah."  Chance replies, rubbing Firefox's back.

"How?"  TimberWolf asks, looking between Firefox and Chance questionly.

"Well a few months back, this is so hard, a few months back me and Chance
went on a mission to rescue a few people from one of the Sentinel
concentration camps and while we were there, the Sentinels along with Nimrod
infiltrated our old headquarters.  Dreamer was only a child and wasn't fully
able to use his powers to protect himself so he was captured very easily."
Firefox says, trying to continue through his tears and sniffles.

"So how old was he?"  Eclipse asks.

"He was only ten years old."  Chance says.  "He had just started manifesting
his powers when we left."

"Wait a minute."  TimberWolf says, interrupting Chance.  "When we were
fighting earlier you called one of those hound things Dreamer.  That person
didn't look like a ten year old to me."

"Yeah how was that your son then?"  Eclipse asks.

"The hound transformation enhances a mutant's DNA pattern along with
altering their body to suit the needs of the Right."  Firefox says, hugging
Chance now.  "Braun, the young man you met earlier was once a hound.  When
we found him he was only eighteen years old, but his DNA and genetic
structure revealed that he was well in his thirties."

"So another question, how old are you two to have a ten year old kid?"
Eclipse asks.

"I'm 30 years young and Chance is 32 years young."  Firefox says, smiling
weakly at TimberWolf and Eclipse.

"You guys are older than us."  Eclipse says, smiling.  "I'm 25 and
TimberWolf is 24."

"Yes you two are younger, but not by much."  Firefox says.

"So is there a way you two can get your son back and change him back?"
Eclipse asks.  "Can't you like sense him and teleport him back here or
something?"

"Since his body has been changed and altered we can't sense him at all."
Firefox says as the alarms start going off again.  "I guess our intruder has
been found."

"Maybe so."  Chance says, disappearing.

"Come on you two, we have to protect our home."  Firefox says, creating his
fiery steed and flying away.

"I guess that does mean us since this is our home for now too."  TimberWolf
says as he and Eclipse take off.

// Deeper in Sanctuary //

"How da hell did they get in here?"  Chance asks, projecting a beam of
magical energy at a sentinel.

"I don't know, but we need to stop them and stop them as quick as we can."
Firefox says as Eclipse flies through blasting the robot with his light
powers.

"This still isn't working."  Eclipse says.

"We need more help!"  Firefox says, closing his eyes.  `We need help
protecting Sanctuary, please lend your aid.'

"Baby who are you calling for?"  Chance asks, floating through the air in
his strange looking armor.  "I don't think anyone in here is going to be
able to help us, they are too scared."

"This is their home too, they need to help us protect it!"  Firefox screams
as there was a strange looking disturbance in front of him as a young man
appears.

"Hi there, what can I do to help?"  The man asks.

"Are you a teleporter or something?"  Firefox asks.

"Yeah something like that."  The man says.

"Can you get this thing out of here?"  Firefox asks, floating closer to the
man.

"Please don't burn me."  The man says, backing away from Firefly, Firefox's
fiery steed.

"We won't burn you."  Firefox assures the man as he reaches out his hand to
him.  "Come with me."

"Okay."  The man says, hopping behind Firefox.

"I'm Firefox, who are you?"  Firefox asks as the two of them leave the area
they were in.

"My name is Josh."  The man replies, trying not to look down as Firefox made
a pass by the giant robot.

"Nice to meet you Josh."  Firefox says as the robot zaps him with laser
beams.  "Ahhhh!!!"

"Are you okay?"  Josh asks.

"Yeah, he caught me off guard."  Firefox says, as his eyes start to glow and
he projects a beam of fire from his hand at the robot.  `Brian where are you
and the guys?'

`Down here baby, I am trying to...'  Brian's mental thoughts were interrupted.

"Chance!"  Firefox screams out as his fiery steed disappears and he and Josh
starts falling.

"Firefox man we are falling!"  Josh screams as he grabs Firefox and the both
of them fall into one of the wholes he had created earlier, disappearing as
they reappear on the other side of the sentinel where Chance, Eclipse and
TimberWolf were.

"Who are you?"  Eclipse asks, tending to Chance.

"My name is Josh.  Something's wrong with Firefox."  Josh states, as he sits
Firefox down on the ground.

"Well Josh we are in the middle of full all out war in here.  We can't seem
to stop this thing and these guys are the main two heavy hitters that we
know of that can somewhat stop this thing."  Eclipse says just as Firefox
and Chance both awaken.

"Are you two okay?"  TimberWolf asks as Eclipse's light barrier fades.

"I couldn't hold up my barrier, I am getting tired."  Eclipse says.

"We need more help here."  Firefox says, looking around.  "We can't stop
this thing.  It has adapted to all of our powers."

"Adapted?  You say it can become immune to our powers?"  TimberWolf asks.

"Well it can us, since we have powers that we can project at it.  You on the
other hand, don't know."  Firefox says, holding Chance in his arms.  "Are
you okay Brian?"

"Yeah I am okay.  It felt as though someone had psychically attacked me."
Chance says, kissing Firefox.

"I know baby, I felt it too."  Firefox says, as TimberWolf clears his
throat.

"This is all very touching and all, but we can't do this now, we need to
stop this thing before it destroys this place."  TimberWolf says, grabbing
Eclipse's hand.  "Get me to the top of him, I am going to try to punch my
way down to the ground."

"I don't think that is feasible Justin.  Those tin cans are made of titanium
and other strange alloys that even I can't break."  Firefox says, as he
touches Chance and starts glowing.

"What are you two doing?"  Eclipse asks.

"Well he's morphing off of my powers."  Chance replies as both of them turn
around to face Eclipse.  "See."

"Why do you look like him?"  Eclipse asks, looking at Firefox.

"I have biomorphic powers Nick.  I can copy the powers and abilities of any
person I touch or come into contact with."  Firefox explains.

"That sounds kind of scary."  Eclipse says, looking between Firefox and
Chance.

"Well it might sound scary but it is very handy when you want to get the
jump on your opponent."  Firefox says, smiling.

"I touched you the other day when you fell, did you copy my powers?"
Eclipse asks.

"No I didn't do that, I can control my powers you know."  Firefox says,
grabbing Chance.

"So are we going to try and stop this thing now?"  Chance asks.

"Yeah we are."  Firefox says.  "Justin and Chance are going to run ground
interference, me and Nick will do air defense..."

"What about me?"  Josh asks, looking at Firefox.

"Well right now since I don't fully understand your powers and all I know is
that you can teleport things...when I give you the signal, which will be me
speaking to you in your mind, I want you to open one of your portals and
send that tin can away."

"I can do that."  Josh says, as the other four men went on their way.

// A Secret Government Office //

"How are things coming along General?"  The man asks, walking into the room.

"Things are going as planned.  As of a few hours ago we discovered the new
location of the band of mutants known as X-Sync.  We have deployed sentinel
units to the location and we shall have them all flushed out by nights end."
The General explains, laying some papers on the desk.

"Good good, that's good news to have."  The man states, sitting down in
front of the General's desk.  "Did the information retrieved from Codename
Dreamer prove helpful?"

"Very helpful."  The General says, picking up a remote control and turning
on a monitor in the room.

"What is that?"  The man asks.

"That is Codename Dreamer's father breaking into one of our facilities in
Orlando, and this right here is the other father breaking into one of our
sentinel plants in Washington D.C."  The General says.

"Two fathers?"  The man asks.

"Yes two fathers sir.  Codename Dreamer is the product of DNA Gene
 Splicing."  The General says, picking up the file on his desk and handing
it to the man.  "All of our test indicate that he was not produced the
natural way that other humans are produced.

"How can you be so sure?"  The man asks.

"How is it possible for him to have the exact same DNA patters as two men?"
The General asks.

"Well there are other methods besides DNA Gene Splicing."  The man says.
"Codename Dreamer could have been conceived like other human beings are.  He
might have had a mother.  She could have been impregnated by altered sperm
or something."

"Sir I am not debating that, but our test show that Gene Splicing was the
method used in producing the child."  The General says, opening another
folder and passing it to the man.  "This report shows all the abnormalities
within that child to prove the test right."

"So tell me about the Carter boy, has he been turned yet?"  The man asks.
"We can very well use his power as a hound."

"He is strong sir, he is resisting all of our methods of transformation."
The General says.  "We think that he has some untapped psychic potential
that is keeping him from being turned."

"What about the brother, what happened to him?"  The man asks, handing the
General some folders.  "We were tracking him for awhile then he disappeared
from our radar."

"I think it has something to do with the man he married."  The General says,
pulling out his keyboard and typing in some commands as the information on
the monitor changes.

"What is this?" The man asks.

"This is the schematic for the underground sewer system that X-Sync has been
hiding in."  The General says.

"Well well what do you know.  They weren't so lucky after all."  The man
says.

// Back at Sanctuary //

"No!  Let me go!"  Chance screams as his armor disappears and he is knocked
out, being thrown to the ground.

"We are loosing this battle."  TimberWolf says as he is knocked backwards by
the robot's foot.

"We can't stop this thing!"  Firefox screams as the ceiling starts to rain
down on them.  "The roof is caving in down here.  I must warn everyone to
scatter!"

"If you are going to do something I suggest you do it now."  Chance says, as
his magical energy field fades.  "I can't keep this up."

"I must stop this somehow."  Firefox says, floating up to the top of the
ceiling and projecting his telekinetic powers in all directions.  "I don't
know how long I can hold this up.  We need to get everyone out of here and I
am not strong enough to contact everyone telepathically.  Someone needs to
get to the control room and make an announcement."

"We can't leave JT, we have to help Eclipse and TimberWolf, we got to get
them to safety before they are captured."  Chance says.

"Maybe it's time for us to put Josh to use."  Firefox says, closing his eyes
as he and Chance disappears and reappears next to Josh.  "Josh get these
things out of here and quick."

"I will do what I can Firefox."  Josh says jumping up into the air as the
area under his feet opens up.

"He has the portal open Chance, let's see if we can push the damn thing into
it."  Firefox says, using his telekinetic powers to push the robot back as
much as he could.  "Josh can you make the portal bigger than that?"

"I have never tried that, but we can see."  Josh says, stretching his arms
wide to see if he could open the portal wider.

"It seems to be working!"  Firefox says as the sentinel starts to disappear
from the room.  "We need more help pushing this thing out of here!"

"Baby try to wake up Eclipse I am sure his light can be made solid and he
propel the damn thing backwards."  Chance suggests.

"I am trying to wake him and TimberWolf up, they are not responding to my
mental powers."  Firefox says, as Braun runs in and pushes the robot
backwards as the sentinel fires a laser beam at them.

"This isn't working!"  Firefox says as the beam bounces off of his force
field and zaps Josh.  "Josh no!"

"Oh fuck!  The portal is closing!"  Chance screams, as there was another
explosion and more sentinels appear in the room.

"HALT MUTANTS!"
