Prince vs. Princess
Chapter 2
GeberaDaisy22@yahoo.com

Hi again. Thank you to the one person who wrote. I'm glad you enjoy my
story. I'm having fun writing it (most of the time anyway, the other 99% of
the time I'm pulling my hair out). I know I'll regret saying this, but I am
going to try to send in a new chapter every Monday. Just wanted to let you
know.

Again... and yes I'm begging here... please write me with your
comments. Good and bad. I'm very open to criticism. As the story goes on I
may need some help deciding what direction to take it in and I will ask you
all to let me know what you think. This story really doesn't have a
specific ending, ok, so it has no ending. I'm making it up as I go along
and there is no ending in my mind right now.

Disclaimer: This story is a complete work of fiction. I have no connection
to any of the celebrities in this story. I do not know their sexual
preference. Again... This story is a COMPLETE work of fiction. If you are
offended by slash stories, please leave. If you are not old enough to be
reading this story, please leave. Ok, I think that covered everything.

Enjoy...

Chapter 2

As Britney was getting ready for her first "official" date with Lance she
couldn't stop thinking about Justin. She hadn't been able to put that one
comment aside. Justin had seemed fine... right up until she had mentioned
Lance. After that all he said was, "Not him, Britney. Please, anyone but
Lance." She'd never seen anyone completely breakdown before, but with
those few words Justin had. She had seen it in his eyes. That second kept
playing in slow motion through her mind. It had kept her up at night.

Britney had always thought of herself as a decent person. She loved to see
people smile. But now, for the first time in her life, she couldn't bare to
look in the mirror. She was afraid of what she would find hidden inside
herself.

She couldn't, for the life of her, figure out exactly why Justin had broken
down. All she knew was that she was responsible for it. It had been a week
since their break-up and he seemed fine, but that sparkle that was in his
eyes is gone. Lance couldn't see the change, but she did.

"Stop it!" She told herself. "Just focus on tonight. On Lance." With that
all thoughts of Justin slipped from her mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In a room down the hall Lance was also preparing for the night. He couldn't
believe how well things had turned out. He had thought, at the very least,
Justin would be a bit cold towards him, but Justin's attitude hadn't
changed at all. In fact, it seemed as if they had gotten closer in the past
week. Justin always had a smile for him and they had so much fun just
joking around. Britney kept saying that something with Justin was off, that
the light in his eyes was gone. Lance looked for the slight change, but
couldn't see it. Lance knew those eyes, he used to study them, couldn't get
enough of them.
About a year ago Lance had thought he was in love with Justin. He didn't
believe his luck that he was such close friends with America's heart
throb. Lance soon realized he was just having the same reaction to Justin
that the teenies had. He had fallen in love with the image, not the person.
Lance shook his head and smiled. "I went from being in love with the prince
of pop to the pop princess." He chuckled to himself. Not many people would
get to experience that one.
Lance was proud of his preference. He'd never hidden the fact that he was
bisexual from the guys.  Actually, he'd never really hidden it from
anybody, they'd just never asked. Johnny and the others knew he'd never
deny it, and they didn't ask him to.
"If only everyone could be open about love." Lance thought to himself as he
made one last check in the mirror and headed out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In yet another room in that hallway sat Justin. He knew they were going out
tonight. He also knew that he had to work fast if he was gonna get what he
wanted.

He thought back to the moment he first knew he was in love with Lance. He
had asked Justin to meet him at the dance studio early to work on the
routine for "Space Cowboy". For some reason Lance just couldn't figure it
out. After about 20 minutes, when they finally thought he was getting it
down, Lance landed on his butt. At first they were both silent, then Lance
just broke down into laughter. Justin remembered Lance was laughing so
hard that tears were rolling down his cheeks. The moment Justin started
laughing he knew he was in love. They were laughing so hard they ended up
laying on the floor. After about 15 minutes they were both gasping for air
and their bellies hurt. Before Justin had a chance to make a move the other
guys walked in.

Ever since then Justin had pushed those feelings aside. He couldn't bring
himself to admit that he had feelings for another man. He kept telling
himself it was just the situation that temporarily caused those
feelings. But in the back of his mind it was always there, nagging
him. When Britney had told him that Lance and her were in love those
feelings had rushed forward so quickly he had almost passed out. Justin
didn't know why he had said what he did, but he had. He was relieved that
Britney hadn't questioned it and instead had just left. He couldn't break
down in from of her. Not over this.

How was he going to show Lance how he felt without hurting her? Justin knew
he needed help on this one so he picked up the phone and called the only
person who knew there was a problem. As Justin waited for an answer he
prayed that Chris would be able to help.
