Beat of my Heart - 2

Waking up the next morning was the hardest thing I had to do in my
entire life! After a really long rehearsal last night, I thought that a hot
shower would relax my muscles...it did for a short period of time. I was
sore from head to toe, but it was a good sore. I had the day off from work
today, but Dustin and Nate had to work the morning shift at Pac-Sun. The
sounds of birds chirping, the sun filtering through my blinds made me not
think of the numbing pain that I was in. Peace. Nature's soundtrack was
playing all morning.

"What should I do today Bryan?" Saying to myself, while eating my 3rd bowl
of cereal. "Can't be a lazy ass today...hmm...go to the mall and do some
shopping, have lunch with Dust and Nate and maybe a dance class or two."
Making my mental checklist in my head, I took a quick shower and decided
that being a scrub today was a good idea. I put on my favorite pair of
sweats, a plain black t-shirt and grabbed my Gucci sunglasses and headed
out the door. What? Just because I'm dressed as a scrub doesn't mean I
can't look cute, I know that we all have those days where you don't care
about impressing the general public, but in the back of your mind one
little thing you wear can make them go "Damn..."

I got to the mall a little after 12 and browsed the stores, buying
little things here and there. You see, I still work at the country club and
I make some serious money. Dealing with snobby rich folks who think that
they are on top of the world, is worth the 17 an hour to me. I went to
Pac-Sun to visit Nate and Dustin, Nate was folding shirts at the front
display, while Dustin was cashier. Sometimes I like to be a bitch and mess
up their display, but then today wasn't the day to do that because I can't
run, otherwise I'd pull a muscle.

"Hey Bry!" Nate was always in a happy mood.
"Hola, Nate. What are you and Dustin doing on your lunch break?"
"Actually, since it's really slow right now our boss is letting me
and Dust go home."
"Great! You guys wanna grab a bite at that new sushi restaurant,
Toyama's on the Lake?"
"I heard it's really pricey, Bry."
"It's ok Nate, my treat." I said beaming from ear to ear.
"I'm sure Dustin would like a free meal, and since you said it's ok
then it's on! We get off in about a half hour."
"Ok, I'm gonna walk around the mall some more and meet you back
here when you are all ready to go."
	"Sounds, good. See you soon!"

I left the store and put my shopping bags in the car. I was walking
around the mall and then all of a sudden, Eddie's smile came to my
mind. "That was weird." I thought. All I could think about was Eddie. I
don't know what he did to me but I think I'm starting to develop a small
crush on him. I shook it out of my mind and went back to the store to meet
the two.

"Are we ready to go?" I asked.
"Sure are." Dustin said then he whispered in my ear. "You do know
that Toyama's is a pretty expensive restaurant right?"
	"Yeah...you're point is?"
"Well, you're not exactly dressed for it."
"Dustin, it doesn't matter, I don't think they're going to kick me
out because I'm wearing sweats. It's only lunch, if it was dinner then it
would be a different story."
"Alright, I don't know why I'm freaking out about it."
"Ooh! I know." Nate said butting in. "Cos, you know that he looks
better than you!"
"Whatever, explain to me why we're together?"
	"Because the sex is great."
"I did not need to hear that." I was a little jealous, It's been
awhile since I had any...

We got to the sushi restaurant and the hostess was really nice and
sat us next to the window overlooking Lake Washington. There was hardly
anybody at the restaurant, so the three of us got a little loud and started
laughing our asses off. Nate and Dustin were sitting next to each other
while I sat closest to the window just looking out on the water and then I
heard Dustin gasp.

"Bryan...guess who's our wait..." I turned around and my jaw hit
the floor.
"Good afternoon, my name is Eddie and I will be your server today."
His smile and his piercing brown eyes were enough to send me over the edge,
but I had to compose myself.

"Bryan? Hey, I didn't notice it was you. How are you doing?" He
asked, but me being dumb just stared at him wishing I kept my sunglasses
on.
"Oh um...hi Eddie, my name's Dustin and this is my boyfriend
Nate. I saw you around the studio." Trying to ease the awkward situation at
hand Dustin tried ordering. "You have to excuse Bry, he has this staring
problem but that could be easily fixed." All of a sudden Dustin kicked my
leg and I snapped out of it.
"OW! What the hell was that fo...oh hi Eddie." I said trying to
hide the embarrassment.
"Hey Bryan. I think your friends want you order."
"I want you." I thought. "Um, yeah...can we get the spicy tuna
rolls, and a Vegas roll?"
	"You bet, anything to drink?"
"Nope, water's just fine. Thank you Eddie." I smiled, as he left
the table I looked to his direction and got a good view of his ass. He
turned around and caught me looking. His face was priceless, he got beet
red. The cutest thing I've seen in awhile. Lunch went off without a
hitch. Since it wasn't a busy lunch for Eddie he always stopped by our
table to engage in conversation with us. It was a great way to get to know
him a little bit better, Dustin invited him to come back to our place after
his shift to hang out and watch a couple of movies. He thought that it was
a great idea and looked forward to seeing us again soon. The three of us
got back to the house and I started to panic!

"I can't believe that Eddie's coming over! I gotta go clean the
house, do my laundry, make sure everything is clean and alright for him!" I
rushed through the house like a chicken with its head cut off, doing
multiple things at once while Dustin and Nate just stood there in
shock. "What?" I asked. The the two of them looked at each other.
"Since when did you start channeling Mary Poppins?" Nate said while
I was throwing clothes in the washer.
	"What do you mean Nate?"
"I don't think you've ever been this worried about what the place
looked like when a guy is coming over."
"Well, I just want to make sure that this house isn't a sty."
"Honey, he's just coming over to watch a few movies with us, maybe
some pizza. He's not going to live with you."
"I just want to make a good impression." Nate sat me down on the
couch and Dustin joined us.
"Bry, by the looks of things you already gave him a good
impression. Whenever he would come to our table to talk he would always
look at you. He always had a smile on his face." Dustin assured me that I'm
just freaking out over nothing. "We'll help you tidy up, in all honesty the
house isn't bad."
"I know, I just haven't been this excited in a long time you know?"
We got done in about a half hour and just sat on the couch till Eddie
arrived. At about 7 pm. we heard the door knock and there stood Eddie with
a huge pizza and a couple of movies.

The night was one to remember, a night full of laughs, embarrassing
stories, horror movies and enjoyable company. It was about midnight and my
two roomates decided to go to bed which left me and Eddie on the couch.

"So..." I started to say, trying to think of something.
"I had a great time Bryan, thank you for having me over."
"It was my pleasure, I'm really glad you came." As we were sitting
on the couch I instinctively started to lay on Eddie's lap. I always do
that whenever I'm on the couch with someone, whether it be Nate, Dustin, or
whoever. I just forgot that I just met him and this was our first time
hanging out. "I'm sorry Eddie, I didn't mean to do that. I just have a
natural tendency to lay on laps."
"It's ok, I didn't mind. It's like whatever." He reassured me, and
I went back to laying on his lap. We were on the couch for awhile watching
T.V when I felt his fingers were combing through my hair. I've never felt
to relaxed in my entire life. I looked up at him and his flashed his 1000
watt smile. "So how about that massage I promised you?"
"Huh? What? Yeah about that...I'm sore from head to toe. It's gonna
take a huge pounding with a rock to get rid of all the knots in my back."
"I can fix that." He winked and told me to take my shirt off so I
can get the full effect.
"Do you always offer massages to guys you've just met?"
"Nope, only to guys that I like and you're the first one." He
grinned, but then I could feel my cheeks getting warm from blushing.
"Um...I...um...I'm guessing you like guys?" Duh Bryan...he just
said it...idiot!
"You can say that, now...when are you taking off your shirt?"
"Oh! I...uh...forgot." Getting really nervous, I haven't had any
since Daniel and I broke up. It's like I'm going through it again for the
first time. I took my shirt off, and turned my back to him. His fingers
started rubbing my neck ever so gently, moving down my back adding a little
pressure. I let out a soft moan, enjoying the great massage that was being
given to me. Eddie started kissing my neck, I could feel his slight stubble
gently grazing across my neck. Then all of a sudden Daniel's face flashed
before my eyes. I gasped and got off the couch.

"What's wrong Bryan? I thought you liked it." He asked, almost
looking embarrassed.
	"No...I do. I just...I..."
"It's ok, I was moving too fast for you." I sat back down on the
couch and held his hand.
"It's not the fact that you're moving fast or anything. I guess I'm
still not over my ex. Crazy thing is that I think that I like you too,
these conflicting emotions are driving me up the wall."
"I understand Bry, I like you too. Ever since I bumped into you I
couldn't stop thinking about you. I've always known who you are, I would
see you in shows, and everytime I would finally get the courage to come up
to you, something in me happens and I just walk away. You are an amazing
dancer and I want to be just like you. Carefree, courageous and someone who
doesn't give a damn what people think whether you're on stage or not."
"Wow...that really means a lot to me, to inspire someone because of
my craft. I'm so happy that we bumped into each other because I probably
wouldn't have met an awesome guy whose kind, gentle and so thoughtful. I
strive to be someone like you someday. I don't have the patience like you
do, I can be a total bitch when the right buttons are pushed. You exude
kindness but not to the point of being a pushover. I want Daniel out of my
life, but after being with him for so long it's kind of hard. I thought
that since he cheated on me that I would be able to let go..."
"Wait...he cheated on you? How could he do that? He doesn't know
what he's missing!"
"Thanks Eddie, listen...why don't we do this the right way and go
out on a date?"
	"I don't think I can."
	"Why not?"
"I'm not out at all. No one knows but you, Nate and Dustin. I don't
think I'm ready."
My heart sunk, I thought we were on the right track but I guess
not. I don't know if I should be mad at him or understanding. It took me
awhile to come out to my friends and family but since I had a very
supporting family it made it a whole lot easier. Maybe he doesn't have the
support system at home.
"My dad hate the fact that I'm dancing. He said that dancing is for
girls and queers, I told him that it's not but he just wouldn't have it. He
said I can still keep on dancing as long as 'them fags don't convert you'."
"Eddie, I'm sorry. I didn't know. In light of things...I sorta did
convert you right?" He let out a slight chuckle and I laughed also. "When
you're ready, I'll be here for you. I can't let go of how soft your lips
felt on me."
"Trust me there will be more of that. I just need to be discreet
about it." He looked at his watch and said that it's getting late and that
he needed to go. I walked him to the door and thanked him for a great
night. He leaned in and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips. It was the most
amazing feeling ever, his lips soft as a pillow with satin all over. I
couldn't get over the fact that he was attracted to me. He got into his car
and drove away. I silently closed the door making sure that it wouldn't
wake the roomies up. As I turned around Nate and Dustin were in the hall.

"Hon...we heard everything. Are you ok?" Dustin asked.
"I'm fine you two, he just needs time to figure things out."
"Ok, babe. If you ever need anything, our room is across the hall."
Nate said
"Uh...duh...hello I live here too." I said sarcastically.
"Stop being a smartass, just don't come in when we're going at it
ok?" Nate continued.
"EWWW! Stop with that. I don't want to throw up before I sleep."
"How many drunken nights did you tell me and Dustin that you wanted
to watch us?"
"Shut up! I'm going to bed."
"Night, Bry. Everything will be fine."
"Thanks, for everything. You guys are the best roomates ever."
