Subject: Camping in Kentucky Chapter 6

Chapter Six.

Now it was Sunday morning. I woke up opening my eyes to a view of ten toes
with a few tiny black hairs on each one, his nails short. Luckily he had no
foot odor.

Pushing myself to my knees I looked around spotting my shorts on the tent
floor near the zippered door. Pulling up my shorts, unzipping the door I
climbed out to find a place to pee. I barely had my eyes open as I walked
over near the firing line to a huge oak tree, pulled down my shorts in
front and peed all over the base of this enormous dormant tree. Boy did
that first pee feel good, felt like I let go a half gallon onto the bark.

Turning around pulling up my shorts and packing away my slowly shrinking
pee boner I noticed again how beautiful mornings were here. Fog, sunlight
streaming thick shafts of light through the mostly leafless trees coming to
rest on a gently sloping earth. The rays looked thick enough to walk
on. Everything was wet from dew. The fire pit was out and cold, most of
what we cut was gone. With my toes I gently pushed the leftover branch
chunks all the way into the pit then walked to my cooking gear to start
morning coffee water.

The Rocket started first time like always. In no time at all I had a large
pot of water heating expecting to share with Lee. After the stove lit I
could no longer hear him snoring from inside my tent. Made me wonder if I
snore as loud.

Back in my tent I got my cammo pants and olive drab t-shirt on while I
inspected what little I could see of Lee's body asleep on his side where he
slept facing my feet too. His arms were in front blocking my view of his
edible chest and belly button.

By the time I had my first mug of Joe consumed I heard Lee getting up
emerging naked from my tent with a huge morning boner that stuck well ahead
of the rest of his body except his feet as he walked towards the west side
of the clearing to empty his tanks. It was an impressive sight, I wanted to
applaud but I never said anything not knowing how he'd react sober.

He stood legs spread with hands on his hips, head looking up. I could see
the steaming stream of pee land far in front of him and seemed to go on for
quite a while until it started to lower to a few drops. He reached in front
to shake it then turned around not noticing me sitting on the far side of
the clearing sitting cross-legged on a log sipping my second round of
coffee. I was sitting where 'it' happened last night.

He went right to his tent, unzipped the door disappearing inside. Several
minutes later he emerged in jeans and shoes, looking like he gave himself a
quick once over with baby wipes or something. He found me with his eyes and
came over grabbing his metal mug off a large rock by the fire pit. I was
ready with lots more coffee.

We sat mostly in silence. He seemed to be slow to get started in the
morning, not sure if this was alcohol related or just the way he was.

I watched from his side. I was leaned back into the sofa while he sat
leaning forward. I could see his one tit from the side as he sipped the
steamy coffee. The sun lit up a round spot on the middle of his back. I
could see the shadow of some pine needles moving a pattern on his
featureless back, featureless except the lump of a shoulder blade. We never
spoke.

After both cups he stood heading back for his tent. I watched.

Lee returned with another pack of oatmeal, his bowl and spoon. I raised the
pot of hot water to pour for him hoping the remaining heat was sufficient
to make it evolve into something edible.

Silently he ate his food setting his bowl between us on the log.

After a few minutes of him rubbing his face sitting near me, while I stared
closely at his side trying to burn in an image of his wonderful body, he
finally spoke.

"What you wanna do?"

"Head for home?"

"That's fine too." Is all he said. I started to suspect he was hoping I
would suggest we do more stuff with our clothes off but I wasn't sure so I
played it safe since I don't know him much at all.

It took almost an hour before we both had our stuff taken apart and packed
like when we arrived. We were both dressed. I found myself compelled to
stare a lot at his body while we got things packed. He set fire to our
trash items in the fire pit. I packed our empty bottles into my duffle bag
and stood waiting near the firing line which sits near where the trail to
the parking spots enters the clearing in the north-west corner.

I stepped to the side as he walked past looking down at the trail as we
started the hike to the truck.

Up the trail over a hundred feet then down the other side. The day was
beautiful, the fog was gone, it was nice out, maybe low 70's by now. I was
happy to see the first signs of his Toyota Tacoma. The truck sat unlocked
in the trees barely visible to anyone, even this time of year.

Our gear got tossed in the back seat like on Friday. In no time we'd backed
out of this parking spot, out into the dirt fire trail, then back to the
paved road, past his uncle's house, into town, across the city, over the
river and back into Ohio on the interstate which felt like home now.

When we rode past his uncle's place Lee reached over to fish an old cell
phone from a cup holder in the dashboard, plugged it into a wire that came
out from under the dashboard to play some music for the rest of the
trip. About a half hour from Dayton it just stopped playing.

We'd not spoke hardly at all the entire trip home.

When we got to about ten minutes from his trailer he spoke.

"You have a good time camping in Kentucky?"

"Yep, it's great." I said glancing back at the side of his head as he
concentrated on driving.

"We could do that again sometime." He said sounding quiet but without any
tone or emotion.

"Sure, I'd like that. Maybe next time I got a better idea of what to bring
too."

"Yeah, me too. I go down there lots but rarely with anyone else. Not too
many people like camping without running water, no showers or electricity."
He turned to smile at me as he hit the turn signal to exit the interstate.

"Oh no, that's my idea of a great camping trip. Everything was fine." I
said staring at him hoping he'd glance at me. I wondered briefly if he
remembered everything that happened. I had to assume he did but still
didn't want to be more specific.

As he turned into the long driveway into his mobile home park he said, "You
got any plans for the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend?"

"Nope. You?"

"I was thinking about heading down there for a few days of peace and quiet,
maybe do some fishing using leeches as bait, maybe hike the hills a
little." He said as he pulled into the spot next to my car.

"Sounds like a good time."

Lee turned to face me, "You're welcome to come too." He winked and smiled
then climbed out of the truck, I did the same. I thought about his choice
of words just then wondering if it was intentional.

I went to toss my duffle bag into the trunk of my Volvo and noticed that I
left the car unlocked. Fearing the worst I opened the driver's door then
the trunk tossing in my gear but the car looked un-touched.

Lee walked over by the side of my car offering his hand. We shook, "Let me
know if you can go down for the four day weekend. I plan on leaving
Wednesday afternoon after work, okay?" he said with a smile as we shook.

"No problem, talk to you in the cafeteria next week." I turned to the door,
opened it and sat inside. I felt compelled to watch him from behind as he
walked up the steel steps at the front door to his mobile home. Lee turned
the knob and disappeared inside, never saw him use a door key.

In about twenty minutes I was home with my gear back in the basement dumped
out into piles to clean, store, wash, or replace with something better. The
sleeping bag was dry-clean only.

I walked out to my car to put the sleeping bag in the front seat. I can
drop it off at the cleaners on the way to work tomorrow. The stuff we did
this weekend was about all I could think about.
