CONFLICTED Chapter 3: Jabri

DISCLAIMER: This chapter depicts a fictional sexual encounter between two
teenagers between the ages of 15-18.

After leaving the hospital Jabri began to distance himself from Chaz. He

He arrived at the restaurant late because he thought he knew where the
restaurant was but apparently did not. When he arrived there was only one
seat left. When he saw he was going to be sitting next to his mouth nearly
dropped but he held his composure. The guy looked as though he was 6'3
average build, low cut hair. He wore glasses and had a beard. Very dark
skinned and had an amazing smile. He sat down at the table and the handsome
stranger stretched out his hand.

"Hey I'm Jason. I'm a friend of Dana's." He said in a deep baritone voice.

Jabri extended his hand, "I'm umm...... I'm umm......Jabri!"

Jason and Jabri chatted all evening. He learned that Jason was self
employed as an independent contractor and had a degree in construction
management. He and Dana had known each other since college and had remained
good friends even after they had graduated. At the conclusion of the
evening as everyone began to part ways Jason stopped Jabri on the way to
his car.

"Why don't we get up sometime and go out for drinks?" Said Jason

"Sounds good. Just hit me up sometime." They exchanged numbers.

Jabri was excited but not optimistic. He was all to familiar with how
things start off. He had been on the giving and receiving end of this game
with the girls that he had been interested (and not so interested) in. A
week had passed he hadn't really thought about Jason until he received a
text message:

When he arrived at he restaurant, Jason was sitting in the lobby area
waiting for him.  They shook hands and got a booth. Jason was interested in
what Jabri did for a living. Jason was quite interest because he had a lot
of clients that were looking to retrofit housing structures with solar
panels and the company that he was using delivered subpar materials which
he received a lot of complaints about. Conversations involved family,
future plans, the state of the country, and world events. Eventually of
course the conversation turned to relationships.

"So when was the last time that you dated someone?" Jason questioned.

"Wow.....it was about a two years ago. She and I had a lot of trust
issues. Mainly on her end. She felt that I was always cheating on her. She
would constantly look through my phone trying to find something.  She never
did.  I don't believe in being unfaithful to the person that I am
dating. How about you?"

"Well it has been nearly two years now. It was a very emotionally intense
relationship. Things were going well, so I thought, until I discovered that
they were being unfaithful.  It broke my heart," Jason said. That smile
that Jabri had come to associate with Jason faded into sadness, "But at the
same time I think that all of the warning signs were there. But I was too
blinded by love to see it."

"When was the last time you were in love?" Jabri questioned.

"There were a few who I tried to force me to love them, but I am very
particular about who I date. Firstly, intelligence is very important.  You
know if you can seduce my mind." Jason paused, " then the rest of me
is.....easy to get. What about you?"

"There was one who I've loved since we were in elementary school. We had
that type of relationship where we knew each other better than we knew
ourselves.  I was too afraid to say something sooner. I missed my
chance.........I missed my chance to be loved by the one who I loved the
most." Jabri responded sadly.

"What makes you think it's too late?"

"We have now gone our separate ways. Things will never be like they were."
Jabri was nearly in tears.

"I think it is time that we go." Jason whispered

They paid their bill and as they walked out, they gave each other a hug.

"Text me when you make it home." Jason told Jabri

About 20 minutes later Jabri made it home.  As he walked into his bathroom
and got ready to shower he broke down in tears. For he truly loved
Chaz. Everything in his apartment reminded him of Chaz. The bedroom where

About 20 minutes later Jabri heard a knock at the door. It was Jason. Had

"I brought a container of ice cream!" Jason said with a smile.

Jabri went and got some spoons and joined Jason who was sitting on the
floor. Jabri turned on the tv and put on a comedy.  At some point they both
fell asleep and in the living room. During the middle of the night Jason

Kyle was a junior and had been the team's manager since his freshman
year. He kept all their records and helped maintain all of their
equipment. He was 5'7 and had average build. Caramel colored skin, wore
glasses,and kept his hair cut short.  He was not very athletic but would
help run drills with the team when asked.  The seniors on the team often

the show MADTV, I never knew that they had a magazine!!"

"Oh yea, it was out long before the show was. We have a subscription."

finished Jason took the dishes into the kitchen and washed them.

"I appreciate you washing the dishes Ch.......Jason."

"No problem. But I think I need to go home so I can shower."

"I really do appreciate you coming by. Regardless to what you think, I
really was helpful." Jabri said with a smile.

"Anytime! Later on tonight I am going to a concert in the park. Do you want
to go later on?" Jason said as he headed towards the door.

"I'm not sure if I'm really in the mood to go."

"Ok how about this. You come out to the park. Give it 20 minutes. If you're
ready to go after that then we will leave."

"Aight that sounds like a plan."

"Aight cool. Once I get showered and changed out of this shirt you drooled
all over, I have a few errands to run and I'll text you when I'm headed
back this way."

And with that Jason was gone out of the front door.

Later on that evening Jason came to pick Jabri up. And they traveled to the
park. Being under the warm sun, listening to the smooth jazz playing, and
being there with someone that cares about him that much was keeping his
mind occupied and off of Chaz. Jabri began to wonder if maybe this is who
