Guys Night Out


Alex sat on his bed completely exhausted. He'd worked two doubles in a row
at the hospital because of short staff. As he lay back on the bed and let
out a long sigh, there was a knock at his bedroom door. It was Adam of
course, his roommate of 3 years and best friend for 15 years. Apparently
he'd just gotten home from work also.

"Hey buddy's" he said peeking his head in.  "What's going on?" he said with
a smile.

Alex sat up and looked at him and couldn't help but smile. Adam was after
all a beautiful man. He had curly dirty blonde hair and baby face, but
there was nothing 'baby' about him from the neck down. He was all man.  A
6'4, 210lb man. He had the build of a football player; nice strong chest
huge arms and a stomach you'd want to eat off of. He could have any girl he
wanted, and he usually did get any woman he wanted. With a baby face,
chiseled body, and a smile that made clothes fall off, who couldn't?

Alex shook away the daydream, "Hey bro, didn't hear you come in. What's
up?" he said rubbing his shoulder and neck.

"Dude I passed my last tests. Dude I passed." He said with a an even bigger
grin

He was referring to his massage therapy course he was taking. There is a
written test and a more hands on test; you must complete to become a
licensed massage therapist.

"Man that awesome." Alex said genuinely happy for him even if his face
didn't show it.

"Dude we have to go out and celebrate..." he stopped short, noticing for
the first time Alex rubbing his shoulder. "Those hours are getting to
aren't they?"

"If you mean they're kicking my ass then yeah." He said with a smirk. And
then he gave Adam a look he knew all to well. "Hey do you mind if we..."

But Adam cut him off "Dude, come on. We have to go tonight. Come man
please. Do I ever ask you for anything?" he asked

Alex just gave him a look.

Adam couldn't help but smile. "Ok Ok. Have I asked for anything lately?
Dude come on, please?"

"Can't we go tomorrow? I'm beat and my shoulder is killing me." Alex
responded

"It's just tension. Dude let's just go out for about an hour and grab a few
beers and shoot the shit. I guarantee that'll help. If not, tomorrow
afternoon, I'll take care of it for you."

You'd give me a massage? Thought a homophobe like you didn't like giving
guys massage." Alex jested

"While I do, and usually so does the client, prefer someone of the opposite
sex, I'm not opposed to giving a man a massage. Money is money. Besides,
you're my best friend, what is there to feel weird about?" Adam replied

"Well..."

"And I resent that `homophobe' comment. If I were, I would have kicked your
sissy ass out a long time ago." He laughed

"Yeah you wish." Alex said.

"So come on dude. We going?"

"Alright, I'll go." Alex conceded

"Yeeeesssss" Adam said as he turned toward the door.

"But," Alex continued, stopping Adam in his tracks. "Just for one hour."

"Ok, just an hour, you got it." And he turned to walk away again.

"And " Alex continued "If I don't feel better you have to take care of my
shoulder like you promised."

"Yeah yeah. A promise is a promise. Dude I got you." Adam said letting out
a sigh "Now is there anything else, I'd like to go shower before we go." He
said turning his back again.

"Yeah actually there is..." Alex said once again stopping Adam in his
tracks again.

"Dude whatever it is the answer is yes, ok." Adam said turning around
again.

"Oh really, so that means you got the rent for the next six months, I get
dibs on the T.V. at all times and you'll admit right here right now that
I'm smarter, better looking, and just all around better than you in
everything?"

Adam gave him a look. "Dude...what?"

"I was just wondering if you could shower before we go, you smell like a
fat man wearing a down coat in July while working out." Alex laughed.

Adam couldn't help but laughed as he turned to walk away. "Yeah, says the
man who smells like King Kongs balls. Be ready in 20 dude." Adam said
exiting the room.

They'd been at the bar for about 20 minutes before Alex allowed himself to
relax. And once he did, to his surprise, he did start to feel a little
better and enjoy himself. But that shouldn't have been a surprise; he'd
always had fun with Adam, no matter where they were. And abruptly, it all
crashed and burned.

A really hot chick walked in and sat four stools down from Adam. He didn't
notice because his back was turned to her but it would be long before he
did. He had a built-in radar for chicks this hot. From Alex's view, she was
pretty perfect. She didn't look to have a lot of make-up on, which meant
she was just naturally pretty. And then she looked Alex's direction and
smiled and waved at someone she knew. She had green eyes and a smile that
made you want to smile. She was perfect...for Adam. It was just a matter of
time now. And then she laughed out loud in a conversation she was having on
the phone, and Adam looked that direction. Alex grimaced; he knew their
night was over now. But to his surprise, Adam just stared for another
moment and went back to his beer. Then he looked over at Alex and with a
charming grin said "Thanks for coming out with me buddy, it means a lot."

"But..." Alex said, now noticing that the hot chick was obviously checking
Adam out.

"But what?" Adam asked, confused.

Alex breathe a sigh of defeat. "You're my bro." he started

"Yeah?" Adam said

"That chick down there, that completely gorgeous chick is..."

"Is checking me out. Yeah I know." He said and then took another look in
that direction before taking another sip of his beer. "And you think that I
gonna leave you here after I pretty much had to promise you my first born
child, to go a talk to her, right?" Adam said and took another drink.

"Well...yeah." Alex laughed. "Dude, she hot. I'd even consider jumpin her
bones." Alex said, lying of course.

"Yeah right."

"Dude seriously..."

Adam cut him off "Dude," he started and he paused. He took another sip of
his beer and then looked him straight in the eye. "When I was little, I was
always envious of all my friends, and you know why? Because they all had
brothers. Now unfortunately, God has a since of humor and all I got was
you."

Alex laughed a little.

"Dude blood couldn't make you anymore my brother. There are plenty of hot
chicks out there for my choosing, but I got just one bro. Today was a
pretty important day for me and there is no one I'd rather spend it with
than you. And I mean that." He took another sip of his beer.

Alex just looked at him, completely blown away. When had Adam taken a break
from all the immature things they did and still do and become this person?
"Wow, Adam..." Alex said putting his hand on Adam's shoulder and looking
him square in the eye, "you really are turning into a homo."

They both laughed. Alex ordered them some more beer, drank and laughed some
more. Every once in a while Alex would catch Adam peeking her
direction. Eventually, she was joined by some friends, but she still had
her eye on Adam. After Another 20 minutes or so Alex stood up to stretch.

"You probably wanna get home" Adam said in almost a question.

But to be honest, Alex felt great and didn't want the night to end just
yet.

"Naw man, I feel pretty good. Hey you know what; we should go down to The
Ox for a while." Alex replied to Adams surprise.

"The Ox?" he questioned.

"Yeah, why not?"

"You hate clubs"

"Well the night is young and I'm just not ready to go home yet. Why stop
the celebration here right?"

Adam smiled. "Awesome man, let's go." He said standing up to grab to so
cash to pay.

Just then Alex noticed that the hot chick was alone again, and still eyeing
Adam.

"Damn" he heard himself say out loud. Apparently loud enough for Adam to
hear.

"What?" he said looking back up at him.

Alex looked at Adam and then back at the girl and knew what he should do.

"My back" he said suddenly holding his back. "It's bothering me again. I
think I got a little ahead of myself. Maybe I should go home."

Adam looked a little disappointed but recovered quickly. "Oh ok. Yeah buddy
let's get you home. We can catch the Ox another time. And I'll take care
that as promised."

"Naw man, you've been drinking. I want my massage when you're not under the
influence. And besides this is still your special night. Go out and have
some fun. And you can start with her." Alex said nodding in the hot chicks'
direction.

Adam didn't have to look to know who he was talking about. "Dude, didn't we
just discuss this? Bros over Hoes."

Alex blushed slightly at his buddy's loyalty, but he wasn't giving up that
easily. "Dude, how long have we known each other?"

"10 years old"

"And how long have we been best friends? Since day one right?"

"Yeah, 15 years. So?"

"I'm not going anywhere. We'll always be bros, no matter what." Alex
started as he glanced at the hot chick once more. "But dude if you don't
get your stubborn ass down there and talk to that chick, I swear to God I
will tell everyone in here that you and I are a gay couple looking to
experiment with a third."

They both laughed.

"Seriously dude, beauty like that is rare. She's feeling you and I know
you're feeling her. So get your ass down there already." Alex said with a
smile that almost hurt.

Adam turned and looked at her again and then back at Alex and smiled,
putting his head down slightly.

"Thanks man" he said looking up at Alex again. "You really are my best
bro."

"Yeah yeah, what would you do without me? Blah blah blah. Go"

Adam looked back at her again and then back at Alex. "She is pretty hot
isn't she?"

"And yet you're still over here talking to me."

"Ok Ok, I'm going." Adam said looking down at himself and then back at
Alex. "I look ok?"

"Adam..." Alex said looking into his eyes. "You're perfect."

Adam smiled "Thanks buddy." He said as he started to walk away. And then he
turned to Alex again. "Nobody would've believed you and me were together."
He said with the sexiest smile he could conjure. "I'm way out of you
league."

"Whatever, and just for the record, you'd be the bitch." And they both
laughed.

And with that he turned and walked away. Poor Alex, it pained him to give
up his boy. But he desired nothing more than to see him happy. Alex made
his way out of the bar passing the two on the way. They seemed to be
hitting it off pretty well. Alex was hoping Adam would look up, but he
never did. Alex made his way back an empty apartment broken.

He thought about jerking to some porn but decided to go to bed. It was
Friday night and there was no work tomorrow but it had been a long week and
he was exhausted. But instead of falling right to sleep, he found himself
completely restless. He couldn't stop thinking about Adam. Lately, he'd
been all he could think about. It was becoming much more than a mere
lusting for him. He had actually fallen in love with him. But they could
never be. Especially not after the brother speech Adam just gave him, and
it pained him to heart. That night he cried himself to sleep.

The next morning, Alex was awaken by bed movement. He looked up and there
was Adam sitting on his bed in only his boxer briefs. And he had a very
concerned look on his angelic face.

"Wha...what is it?" he said sitting up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"You." He said looking him straight in the eye. "I heard you crying last
night when I walked pass your door. And it isn't the first time I've heard
you. What's going on? You know you can talk to me"

"Aw no worries bro, I'm alright. I'm good, I promise." Alex said avoiding
eye contact. "How was the date or whatever it was?" he said changing the
subject.

Adam held his gaze a moment longer and then looked away, hurt by his
friends distrust. "Fine, if you could call it a date." He decided to leave
it be for now. "She engaged to be married..."

"Damn, really?" Alex said sitting up completely and getting better view of
the beautiful bulge Adam was wearing. He could feel himself getting hard,
but luckily he still had the covers over him.

"Yeah to a woman." He said with a laugh. "We talked a little while and I
bought her a drink. I was home 45 minutes later." He said looking back at
his clearly uncomfortable friend.

"Well I guess I know how to pick em huh?" he said still avoiding eye
contact.

Adam smiled to himself, as if suddenly understanding. "Yeah, she was
telling me how they were best friends for years and one day, they just both
knew. They were the ones for each other." Adam paused and looked at
Alex. "And you know what was going through my mind as she was telling me
her story? I was thinking, `Wow, I wish I were that lucky'. But you know
what I've just realized?" Adam paused again turning Alex head, by the chin,
so that their eyes met. "I realized I've had it for 15 years."

Alex's eyes widened. "What are you saying?"

"Alex, I love you. I think I always have." He said and leaned in and kissed
him softly. And with both hands on the sides of Alex's face, he pulled back
and gazed into his eyes. "And I know you feel the same."

"I do Adam. I've always loved you. I just couldn't risk losing you as a
friend. I..."

"Sshhh." Adam said putting his finger over Alex's lips. "It's okay." And he
leaned in for another kiss. This one more passionate. They seem to kiss for
hours before Adam broke away. He stood up on the side of the bed and said
"I wanna make love to you Alex." And he pulled Alex's shirt over his head.
Then he pulled back the covers, exposing Alex's hardon. He smirked, "It
seems you want this as badly as I do." And in one sweep, you pulling Alex's
pajama pants and boxer off and threw them to the side. He stood back and
admired the view. "My my my. Alex, you are a beautiful man."

He rubbed his own growing hard-on. He put his thumb under the elastic
and...

And with a jerk Alex woke up...alone. It had all been a dream.

Just then there was a knock at his bedroom door.
