Subject: Luke's ski trip - Chaprer 1

This is my first story ever, after having enjoyed Nifty
for almost a decade. I'm actually old enough to legally
read them now! Please write me: I'd love to know what you
think and also am keen to know how far it gets around the
world, so please put your location in. There'll be around
three chapters to this story. The next two are mainly
sex, so please stick with me during this background
chapter.

Hi, I'm Luke, a 26yr old Sydney-sider whose life changed
when I recently went on a ski trip with my volleyball
mates to the southern snow fields. I have been playing
rep volleyball for about the last 10 years and for the
last five a group of us have gone down to Perisher just
after the school holidays to take in a week's skiing and
snow boarding. It was the same this year with one
exception.

It was a good group. We've all known each other many
years and though we don't see each other that regularly
we'll try to get together for occasions. Most years when
we go skiing, there's compromise with work. Some guys
will come for a few days and have to leave and others
will come during the week rather than at the beginning.
Over the period we have found a great lodge, cheaper than
most and able to sleep 10. It's three floors:
kitchen/dining and lounge area on the ground level with a
large wet area and bathroom with a number of shower
cubicles, a middle level with three three-bunk beds and
single bathroom off it and the top floor at the apex of
the sloped or A-frame lodge which has just a queen-sized
bed and a reasonable en-suite. Space is a premium in
these lodges and in each room, beds just fitted along the
side of the wall, head and foot of the bed touching the
adjacent walls. The middle floor was high enough for
anyone to stand (8ft at least) but even our shortest
player would have had trouble standing straight in the
top floor, it being no more than 6ft. Not that there is
much room to stand, the floor space is practically taken
up by the queen sized bed. Some storage for personal
belongings was available in shelves made on the sloping
walls above the bed. Rest of your stuff went into the en-
suite or the downstairs areas.

We came down in four cars and by 6pm Sunday all had
arrived. We ate at the local bar that night as we didn't
feel like cooking after what had been for most of us at
least a six hour journey. At around 7.30pm we were
sipping beers or cokes around the lounge fire when our
self designated organiser Peter said, "I wonder if
anyone's realised the problem we have this year?" We all
looked at each other and our blank faces must have said a
loud "No", because he continued.
"There are eleven of us to start the week and we're all
staying this time, guys. There's room for that many but
only if you count two sharing the double bed. The lounge
room gets too cold to sleep in plus we sign the lease
that people will sleep in designated beds only. Now,
unless anyone has another suggestion, I propose we draw
lots to see which two of us share the top room."

Practically before Peter had finished speaking I had gone
into panic mode and said, "Look, I've always had the top
room 'cause I'm by far the tallest (6'3 and a bit). I
don't mind if you draw lots to see who shares with me but
I just couldn't sleep in the triple bunks. If anyone has
a problem with sharing with me, that's OK but I'd have to
go tomorrow." As Peter started to calm me down by saying,
"I'm sure no-one ."
Kieran chimed in, "Hey guys, as I was the last to put my
name down, and Peter had said to me there might be a
space problem, I'm quite prepared to share with Luke if
it's OK with him and the rest of you."

"That's fine with me I said" and the other guys nodded or
smiled and Peter said "Well, there's no need for a ballot
then. Let's all get our beds organised and come back here
for supper."
