The Mennonite
The Community - 11					  CGW

      The shopping trip was a very costly one but trying to outfit 10
children and buying things that they would need for everyday always would
be. Cedric also did his fair share of spending money on the Widow Runnels
and her 2 children, Emmitt and Angelica made a very large haul with new
clothes and shoes. Emmitt got his first pair of tennis shoes, he thought
they were grand. When it came to the new underwear he was amazed by the
new-fangled boxer briefs and how they fit him compared to his old homemade
boxers. Angelica loved her fancy store bought dresses with all the lace and
ribbons; she especially loved her new bonnets. Zara Beth was equally
thrilled with her 5 new dresses, they were still plain but she had never
such fine clothes and shoes.

  Cedric asked Emmitt if he could speak to him man to man, the two sat down
away from the others and were having an intense discussion after a few
minutes Emmitt and Cedric shook hands and walked back to where the others
stood. Young Emmitt asked if he could make an announcement to the
crowd. When he had everyone's attention he spoke; the Widow Runnels, my
mother has waited the allotted amount of time and is now free to accept
suiters, Mr. Cedric Davis has asked me Emmitt Runnels, her only male child
and relative for permission to court Zara Beth Runnels- widow with the
intent to marry her when she accepts his proposal after the appropriate
length of time has passed, I have given my permission to him, and to let
other males in the community know she is promised in hand to this man.

  As Cedric and Zara Beth stood next to one another, they turned red faced
as the crowd let out a loud round of clapping in approval. Cedric said;
this calls for a round of pizzas and ice cream at W.D. in Spanish Lookout,
so we had better pay up and get ready to leave. Joe responded; he would
call Rob and have him meet them there. No sooner the Rob hung up with Joe,
he started to spread the news all over the Mennonite Communities that
Cedric Davis and Zara Beth Runnels were courting one another and there was
to be a party at Western Dairies Store in S.L. within the hour and everyone
was invited to attend.

 Joe called ahead and spoke to a young lady at W.D. and told her they were
on their way and there would be a few for a small party, could they please
have two of their larger tables. The young lady responded that Elder
Gunderson had already reserved the place for a party and they would be
ready for them.

  By the time they reached S.L. by the way of the rope ferry crossing the
river, the town was packed. They were parked alongside the road ways in all
modes of transportation, buggies, tractors, wagons, cars and trucks. They
started at Belize Tire Depot and went all the way through town to
Wastrac. Everyone wanted to wish them the best in life, Zara Beth was well
thought of as was Mr. Cedric. There was only room to pull the minibus into
W.D. the whole parking was full as were others near. There were a few
things the Mennonites in S.L. loved and it was to party and their ice cream
and pizza from the W.D. Store. When it was free and there was an
announcement of an intended Joining that was even more reason to celebrate
the event with Pizza and Ice Cream.

  Emmitt was so proud that his mother had found her a new husband, one that
would take care of her for once in her life and it didn't hurt he liked
kids either.

  The event was going great, Adam and Galen were at the rear of the crowd
when Adam heard 2 - 20 somethings talking, one young man said; about time
some normal people were getting together instead of those freaks out at
that Giving Community, now they were getting even larger with the new
section being added. But the surprise was on them when their shiny new
houses turned black overnight.

 Galen placed his arms over the shoulders of the young men and said; looks
like we need to have a talk boy's before you go and do something stupid
even by Mennonite standards.

  Adam held the doors open as Galen carried the now struggling boys outside
to their fate. He carried them around back to the loading docks. Adam
alerted a few of the Elders and then their parents, they went to the docks
as the others inside were unknowing to what was taking place outside. The
parents of the young men were told of their words of stupidity that they
had spoken. One by one their mothers approached their sons. The first was a
robust woman and when she slapped her son's face, she brought him to his
knees, she gathered herself turned and walked away leaving him to his
father. He told his son to drop his drawers and place his hands on the dock
then he proceeded to lash his son's backside with no less than 25 strikes
of his buggy whip. The next parents did the same to their son, but this
father struck his son with a wide leather belt which he wore, he broke the

 Galen picked up the young men and dumped them into the bed of his truck
and carried them to the young men's dormitory at the Giving Community where
they would be spending the next 6 months minimum, living and working as
punishment per the Elder's orders. No one inside of the joyous event knew
what went on outside, Mennonite Justice was swift and harsh on one's that
violated their rules.

  Grigori and Riley were terrified as the entered the Dorm, they were
escorted to the showers by Galen and the dorm supervisor Daniel who was
equally intimidating in size. They were told to strip and enter the showers
as their new clothing would be waiting for them when they were washed.

As the young men exited the showers wrapped only in towels, they saw their
fate waiting on them. It was in the form of a jumpsuit, socks, undershirt,
boxers and slippers all in HOT PINK that lay upon the benches and ordered
to dress and be in the dorm for bunk assignments in 5 minutes.

  Grigori started to break down and sniffle; Riley's eyes were also filled
with tears as he dressed in his new hot pink outfit. The young men reported
to the dorms and Daniel announced to the others that these two young men
were sent here as punishment for their sins not for punishment, so treat
them no different as you would like to be treated; they wore the jumpsuits
as part of their punishment so no picking on them because the pink made
them look so cute, he turned and walked away. Galen pointed to the young
men's bunks and told them to enjoy their stay at the Hotel Giving it would
be a lovely place, they could check out, but they could never leave. Then
he walked away. Some of the young men living there started to snicker then
went about their own business.

  Grigori and Riley laid down on their bunks as Riley's belly started to
rumble from the lack of food and nerves, Daniel returned with sack lunches
for the both of them and told them to enjoy, breakfast was at 5:30am sharp
be up or be hungry till lunch time, tomorrow you will meet Elder Rob for
placement of a job. Both boys opened their lunches and said; thanks before
consuming them.

  Grigori and Riley were up early and went to breakfast they had to report
to the Elder's office to be assigned work detail as part of their
placement. Rib was sitting behind his desk as the young men were shown into
his office. He looked up at the boys standing in front of him. They were
scared shitless standing in their bright pink jumpsuits.

 Rob spoke; I hope you two will find you stay here within the Giving
Community pleasant and an educational experience, because until I sign off
on your paperwork you will stay here, there will no early outs and we will
not put up with any problems out of the two of you. I will fit you both
with ankle bracelets, they are radio controlled and have a radius of error
10ft then you will be shocked with 50,000 volts if you stray or run, they
will go off automatically should you try to remove them. I hope you boys
don't have to learn the hard way.

 Rob's intercom went off, his secretary asked if Dakota could come in for a
minute he needed something, Rob grumbled and said; ok send him in. Dakota
looked at the two young men as he walked by, he whispered into his father's
ear, Rob removed his wallet and gave him some money for a field trip and
told him to have a nice trip.

Dakota was walking out the door and remarked; those two must have really
screwed up royally to get the pink coveralls treatment, and then shut the
door very fast before his father could call him down.

 Rob fastened the leg monitors on the boys and told them to have a seat
outside until he carried them to their jobs.

  Grigori and Riley sat on the bench waiting their assignments as people
passed by staring at them.

 Rob came out of his office and told the boys to follow him, he led the
boys over to the furniture factory and introduced them to Anne, she was one
hard ass and she would be their worst nightmare here. Best they get broken
in right and she would break them in half.

  Within two hours Annie was on the phone and she was in an uproar, these
two panty waste are going to get skinned alive by me if you don't find them
some other place to work, they are a total waste of human flesh. Rob said;
send them to me office Anne.

 A few minutes later the boys showed up and were filthy dirty, she must
have made them do every dirty job in the factory. Rob wanted to laugh but
they stunk too bad to let them stay in the office very long.

 They were sent to the stables, if they stunk like shit, they might as well
be shoveling horse shit.

  At the end of the day the two boys went to the dorm where Daniel met them
and handed them a towel and told them to scrub good to the stink off them
or the boys in the dorms would scrub their hides and stink off of them.

  The next time Daniel saw the two young men they were 3 shades lighter and
smelled a whole lot better; their new jumpsuits were bright pink
again. Daniel approached the boys and said; no supper at the dining hall
tonight for you two, both of you are to report to Elder Rob's home to take
a meal with his family.

  There were a few snickers and a lot of strange looks at the two young
men; they were at a loss to why they were to report to the Elders home for
supper.

  Grigori and Riley were very nervous as Grigori rang the doorbell. The
door was answered by young Dakota; he announced their arrival by saying in
a loud voice "Dad the two new losers are here for supper". Rob called his
son down for his manners and told him one more slip of the tongue and he
would spend supper in his room without. Dakota apologized for his poor
choice of words.

   Rob showed the boys in and told them to have a seat so they could talk
about what was expected of them as they lived here. As they talked Mason
walked through followed by the girls. Rob apologized for his rude children,
who were all too nosey for their own good. Grigori asked if these were all
their children, Rob answered these are the youngest there are older one's
also. Joe walked in and said; supper is served sweetheart if these two
young men are hungry. The boys looked at Elder Rob in shock, how could he
be joined with a man he was so macho.

  Rob saw the look on the young men's faces and laughed, so does this mean
you are too good to dine with my family. Riley responded of course not sir
just surprised sir.

 We cannot help who we are attracted to in life, but we do need to be
accepting of others choices in life responded Rob.

 Grigori lowered his head and apologized for his words that landed them
here in the first place. Rob replied we all live and learn now let's have
supper.

  The meal was blessed then the boys consumed the food, Mason remarked;
must have really worked the tarnation out of these two that they eat so
much. Joe reminded everyone they had a cobbler and special pecan Pie for
desert. This made all 4 boys eat even faster.

 Soon the meal was finished and the dishes were cleaned compliments of the
4 boys. When they were completed with the dishes they were shown into the
sitting room and the little boys were told to ready themselves for bed,
Dakota and Mason headed to the showers. As Rob and Joe sat, Grigori and
Riley stood there with their heads down. Rob started; you are he as
punishment for your actions young men, if you need anything or you should
face any harassment of any kind you are to contact myself or Joe and we
will take care of it period do you understand our rules here. Both of the
young men answered yes sirs, thanked their host then left the home and
headed to the dorms.

 When they reached the dorm, Big Daniel was on the phone and he said; yes
sir they have just arrived sir. Grigori asked; how do you all do it here?
Big Daniel said; do what young man. Live here all together in this place
and not get in fights over personal space and alone time. Ask Eddie over

  As Eddie walked past them Grigori asked if he could talk to his, Eddie
was a very friendly person and wasn't imposing as Daniel at only 5'5".

 Grigori introduced himself and Riley to Eddie and they shook hands, Eddie
remarked that he wouldn't ask what they did to be placed in the dorms with
monitors. Riley thanked him; Grigori started out by asking him how was it
to live here in the dorm of all men and with no privacy being
different. Eddie laughed at what Grigori was getting to, and answered him
first of all dude I'm not gay and it doesn't bother me if someone is gay.

 Grigori turned red faced and sputtered I thought you were because
of. Eddie stopped him there because I'm short or not massively built, dude
I'm here to save up money for a place to purchase so I can offer my fianc?e
a proper home. The rent here is free, so are the meals and there were jobs
here which I could learn a trade, then there's the college courses at night
here for free, I'd be a fool to turn my back on such a chance as this.
Grigori apologized for thinking he was gay because of the way he carried
himself. Eddie snickered and said; if you really want to see a gay dude be
in the showers when Big Daniel's in there. He's so damned big he makes the

  Riley and Grigori both sat there with their mouths open as Eddie spoke of

  Daniel was out of his office in a flash, he wanted to steer clear of

where they need to go.

  Elder Rob called for a meeting for the afternoon at the dorm and all
young men were to attend period. Rob went onto the spiel about young men
and needs of the flesh and how they were to be taken care of, but also how
things should never be allowed to get out of control at the dorms at any
time. He looked out on the young man gathered and knew who the guilty
parties were by how red faced they were. After the meeting he asked Eddie
to have Riley go to his office and wait, he would bring the other one with
him.

 Riley was almost in tear when Elder Rob and Daniel arrived at his office,
Eddie was asked to remain there to bear witness to the meeting. He told the
young men to have a seat next to one another. Both men were nervous about
the meeting, Rob took a seat and said; tell me why we are here today
boys. Both Daniela and Riley looked down at the floor and Riley said; it
was my fault sir, I did it. Daniel replied no sir it was my fault sir not

 Rob smiled and asked Riley what was your fault son, Sir after Daniel

what to do to make ready for the next step. Elder Rob called his son Danis

Danis at the cabin.
