Unexpected has taken me by surprise. I have been writing it for almost two
years; I started in the early winter of 2014. It has grown to fifty
chapters, virtually a book.

This is the last chapter. I feel that it is time to end this section and
possibly the story. I am going to end it in a way that I have never ended a
story before.

I need some time away from writing and it may end up being for quite a long
time. I do have some ideas for a possible continuation of the story but it
will take a number of months or more and perhaps it won't happen. If I were
to continue, it would still be published under the title, Unexpected.

This chapter is a little longer than usual. Apparently, the guys had a lot
to say and do and think about in their final chapter.

Again thanks to all who have written encouraging emails. I am pleased to be
able to say that I have not had a negative email yet from a reader. I try
to answer all emails; I didn't at the start of my first publications but I
decided that if readers were taking time to write me, then I had to reply.

We write sending material into the ether of the digital world and it is
satisfying to know that real people are actually reading our efforts and
enjoying our work. I hope that you enjoy this chapter and the
ending. Thanks and my best wishes to all..

The guys have been watching Jamie and Philipo on the dance floor.

Timothy had put his hand down on Jeremy's thigh. "That's what you want
years from now? We'll make it work. Let's join them on the floor." Jeremy
nodded yes to the question and to the suggestion. Hand in hand, they walked
to where Jamie and Philipo were dancing and started to dance beside
them. Jamie looked at Jeremy who muttered that he was following his two
great role models. Jamie's look was worth it. He said something to Philipo
who turned and muttered, "You two remind us so much of what we were like 7
years ago."

That was almost the highlight of their evening. An hour later, they were
saying goodbye to everyone at their table. As one of the owners and
virtually a Head of Department, Jeremy stayed to the end giving well wishes
and seasons greetings not only to his staff but others that he knew and
some he only knew in passing. Jamie watched Jeremy carefully and realized
what a leap in confidence and stature his guy, his son, had made since
their conversation on the beach at Thanksgiving only months
before. (Unexpected: Five Years On 26). He was convinced that Jeremy was
ready for the next big step in his life at The Accountants. Little did
either know that that step was only one of two big steps his guy would
make. Perhaps there were even three.

On the way out, Jeremy thought that they had navigated the parties and
social events successfully and now they would enjoy Christmas and then be
ready for their big party at New Years. He and Timothy were pleasantly
surprised at the number of people who were coming to stay the evening but
they were also surprised by the number coming and leaving early. They had
had very few out right refusals. It was going to be a big party. He sighed
with pleasure. He sighed for some other reasons a little later after the
lights were turned off downstairs at home

Present

The guys had only a vague notion as to how much work they would have in the
next couple off weeks to prepare. They worked over what was left of the
weekend. They had made shopping lists for Christmas Eve. When something
crossed their mind for New Years, it was added to the New Years' list but
that was going to be done after Christmas. They needed more chairs. They
bought IKEA reclining chairs and a coffee table for the back room beside
the kitchen. Luckily they had added a couple LED lamps for that room at the
last minute. They bought nicer folding chairs that sort of matched the ones
they had bought for the picnic in November.

On the Sunday evening, they collapsed for a few minutes after a quick
supper of leftovers and relaxed. Jeremy smiled at Timothy. "Now, the part I
am going to really enjoy. The tree! I don't care if it isn't the most
beautiful tree but it is real and I already love the smell. They put it
up. They had both decided that they wanted an old fashioned tree not one of
the new designer types. They had gone out and bought some old fashioned
looking decorations and they had told everyone that they could bring one
decoration on Christmas Eve and that would be their Christmas gift. So a
couple of hours later, they had cleared up all the packaging, turned on the
lights for the first time. They grabbed a scotch from their new supply,
turned down the lamps and sat in front of the fire with the Christmas tree
lit and glowing.

It was Timothy who looked at Jeremy. "Jeremy to us and our first
Christmas. It feels so special."

"Love, it is almost unbelievable. This time last year I was wandering with
no direction. Yes, feels really special."

At some point, Jeremy felt a hand reach his shirt and the buttons were
suddenly undone and his t shirt pulled up. That hand was all over his chest
and then the kiss made him close his eyes to enjoy the comfort and love
that he felt. It didn't take long until both guys were naked.

Jeremy pulled back from his guy. He had a big smile on his face. "About a
year ago, I was going through the Nifty archives and I came across an
interesting story. In it, two guys have met and gone to the cottage. The
cottage owner had been married to a woman who had died. He found himself
attracted to the guy who he had taken there for the weekend. No details but
they decide that they were going to have sex in every room at the
cottage. They managed three that weekend. Somehow that idea just crossed my
mind. This could be our second room."

As Jeremy finished, Timothy was laughing. "You never cease to amaze me. You
are one kinky bastard and I think that it is a wonderful, challenging
idea. So let's begin. The second room it is. I'll run up and get the
supplies."

Jeremy chuckled. "Thought the idea might interest you."

Timothy returned with lube and a large, thick bath towel and a big
smile. Giving the towel to Jeremy, "Figured this might be a good idea with
the new couch."

"Ah, you lawyers are so careful."

For that dig, Timothy leaned over and bit his right nipple, hard. Jeremy
enjoyed it. Soon Timothy had his legs over Jeremy's and he was sitting down
slowly on a very hard object. When he reached the bottom and his butt was
resting on Jeremy's thighs, he leaned over and kissed him tenderly. They
kissed as their hands roamed over the others body. When Jeremy put a lubed
hand on Timothy's cock and started to stroke him, Timothy closed his eyes
and was breathing erratically. Timothy started to move up and down on
Jeremy who shivered several times as he past over his prostate and
especially when Timothy stopped with just the tip in him and massaged him
with his muscles. They edged several times One kiss lasted until Jeremy
moaned "Oh shit." Timothy had increased his speed up and down and Jeremy
was thrusting into his lover hard, and he started to explode in
Timothy. The actions set Timothy off almost instantly. The kiss started
again. Timothy raised himself up and off his lover. Both were almost
panting.

Jeremy looked down. "The towel, good thinking. I want to stay here with
you, the fire and the tree."

Timothy smiled while nodding yes.

With no clothes on, eventually they cooled off and decided that it was time
for a shower and bed.

As Timothy pulled his guy up, "A tremendous way to really start our
Christmas at home. There have been so many firsts for me this years. Now
this, my first Christmas in my first house. Even though it is a second
room, it is still a first here which I'll never forget. Come on big guy. I
am going to give you a super cleaning upstairs in our stupendous shower."

The food list was shared with Jamie and Phiipo. Then there was the
alcohol. They jokingly talked of a second mortgage. One afternoon Jeremy
came home late and Timothy was in full cooking mode. There were pots and
whisks and ingredients all over the place. There was obviously something in
the oven and the smell was mouth watering.

Jeremy gave him a questioning look. "I decided yesterday that I was going
to make a classic Quiche Lorraine. I have used a bit more bacon and ham and
a couple of cheeses that are bit tastier; one is sharper. This may become
Quiche Lorraine Timothy M. I am making three; I cheated and bought frozen
pie shells but they are made with lard; the best pie pastry is made with
lard or butter. Momma told be that. I dribbled a little butter on the
shells to give them a different taste."

"My man the chef. The smell is fantastic. I don't suppose there is chance
to sample later."

Timothy held up a very sharp, long knife and made a menacing face. Jeremy
put his hands up in mock surrender and embraced his guy. "Luckily, I
brought some supper home. Let me help clean up, it's the least that I can
do."

"Well you are doing the meatballs and sauce."

Jeremy looked guilty. Timothy started to laugh. "It's OK. I saw you pick up
the meatballs at IKEA and I saw the sauce in the freezer. Good idea. I have
had them, delicious. We have the shrimps and shrimp sauce. The dads are
bringing the rest. God knows what Momma, Julia, my mother and sister will
bring. We won't go to the Christmas Eve service hungry. We are ready as
soon as these suckers come out of the oven."

"Suckers. M. Malenfant such bad use of the English language after your use
of stupendous the other night." They both laughed. The quiches looked like
masterpieces.

Later they counted plates, wine glasses, platters, serviettes. They were
ready for Christmas Eve two nights away. They had bought some really
handsome candles both wax and LED.. The small room in the back and the
living room had large poinsettias. They had bought some really lovely
lilies that brought out the colours in the kitchen. The house was going to
look festive and beautiful.

By Christmas Eve afternoon after an early leaving for both Timothy's and
Jeremy's staff, they were in almost panic mode. Finally, Timothy looked at
his guy. "It is almost done, take a deep breath and relax. He put down what
he was doing and grabbed Jeremy and hugged him with a very firm
kiss. Remember our 'wheel up'; we can't do anything more now.

When the door bell rang the first time, the place was ready. It was Jamie
and Philipo. They stepped in and looked in each room. They put their food
down in the kitchen. Jamie, "Guys, you are going to put us all to
shame. The place looks fantastic. He gave his guy a hug as Philipo almost
picked Timothy up. Jeremy was right; the dads could make you feel so
important.

Timothy looked at Philipo, "Merry Christmas. I think that I am luckiest guy
in the world."

Philipo whispered, "You took the words out of my mouth. Thank you for all
the have done for our guy."

Something very similar was happening between Jamie and Jeremy. It was clear
that they were so close. It was Jamie who thought back to his plan for
taking in Jeremy that night when his father had assaulted him. He
remembered his thoughts that night as if it were yesterday, 'Simple plans
sometimes become complex, often more than we imagine' (Unexpected 10). The
plans had gone beyond his wildest imagination as he looked with love at his
joyful son. The two didn't break the hug for quite a while.

Momma's arrival was always the one that Jeremy looked forward to. He wanted
to see her reaction to the house, the decorations and the food. It meant a
lot to him. She walked in with almost an energy field around her. She put
her bags down and looked into the living room. Her eyes got bigger; then
she looked towards the dining room. She looked back and forth and almost
gasped, "Jeremy, Timothy it is beautiful beyond words. Oh, my." She looked
at them and grabbed the two in her arms. "My amazing grandsons. Thank you,
thank you. You make an old lady happy."

Timothy, "Momma, old lady? You could take us on any day and win. We hoped
that you would like it. We thought of you and Pops as we were decorating
earlier this week. You have done so much for us. We wanted it to be a
special evening."

"Show me the kitchen, I brought a few things."

Jeremy, "Momma, if I know you, we could probably feed an army with the FEW
things that you bring."

"Well, I wouldn't want anyone to go hungry."

They started serving food and drink as soon as anyone came in. Finally the
door bell rang and it was MC, Pierre and what Timothy had started to call
Jeremy's shadow. Luc was in the door and in Jeremy's arms in a minute. He
had his shadow for the night.

Timothy was so pleased to see his father looking so good. He was sticking
to his diet and had started an exercise program at the Heart and Stroke
unit at the hospital. It was working miracles. His mother looked relaxed
and she too was looking at all that the guys had done.

The guys received compliments from Gio and Jason. They hadn't seen them for
a while and had fun catching up. When Tony and family arrived, it was all
complete. Jeremy had at one point looked at Marcus and told him that he was
right that the shower was big enough. Marcus had blushed a bit but Jeremy
had grabbed him and told him that they enjoyed his comment a lot, very
perceptive.

As they were about to leave for the service, Pops had them all to gather in
the living room. He told them that Momma had a few words. "My grandsons did
this for me. I admit that it is becoming a bit more difficult to do
everything that I used to do. I know that it was my dear Jamie who talked
to Luigi but I know that it was these two who were behind it. My life
changed when our Jamie and Philipo together came into my life. Jamie never
lets me get away with anything. His son is chip off the old block and my
other grandson, Timothy is just the same. For all us and especially from
me, thank you for all that you have done tonight. I know that Philipo and
Jamie have helped a lot as well. Love to all for the wonderful beginning of
Christmas." There was moisture in her eyes as she hugged her grandsons.

They entered the church. Jeremy sat next to Momma. Jamie and Philipo sat
beside Pops. The lights were turned down low and the altar cloths were lit
by special lights. The altar cloths shone. Some of the stained glass
windows were lit with soft glowing lights. The nativity scene was front and
centre. The organ played quietly. They had all been given candles and
before the processional, members of the church came down the aisle and lit
the first person's candle who then lit the person beside them. Slowly the
church was lit by many candles shining brightly. It had a quiet almost
magical feeling.

Timothy was moved and so obviously was Jeremy. They both put their hands on
the seat and they gently touched. All of a sudden there was movement on
their row of seats. Luc had left his parents and was moving towards
Jeremy. MC held up her hands in resignation but she had big smile on her
face. Jeremy picked him up and whispered soothing words to his young nephew
who helped Jeremy hold the candle. Timothy smiled as he heard his guy tell
Luc in French that it was very hot and not to touch it but that he needed
help holding it still.

Timothy's mind wandered over the year that had passed. His loneliness as he
now realized that is what it was. The fun he had at the Jake's party. The
interesting guy he played cards with. That night late at the wedding
talking to the jock who liked cinema and music. Where did he Timothy get
the courage to ask him out? The first kiss. The welcome from Jeremy when he
came back from the long weekend at the chalet with his parent and he stayed
the night with Jeremy. The look on Jeremy's face when Timothy insisted that
Jeremy was to be the top that night. So many memories.

The organ rang out with a joyous Christmas carol, Hark the Herald Angels
and the choir started the procession. Timothy heard himself singing loudly
giving his praise for how his life had changed. Jeremy heard him and
realized that they really were partners. A fleeting thought passed through
his mind; would Timothy want more than just being partners? Where did that
thought come from? As the service went on Luc became a little
restless. During a hymn before the homily, Jeremy stood up and quickly
moved to the end of the row. He whispered to MC that he would take him.

Timothy sat close to Momma who placed her hand on his and gave it a
squeeze. At the end of the service, they found Jeremy in the corridor
behind the church sitting on a chair.  Luc asleep with Jeremy holding him
against his body. Father Gregory had looked out as the procession passed
and had seen the scene and had quickly gone over to Jeremy. He had put his
hand on his shoulder and said, "Bless you my son. What a wonderful sight on
Christmas Eve. I could have used this scene as the basis of my homily." He
gave Jeremy a penetrating stare of friendship and respect.

MC was full of thank yous for what Jeremy had done with Luc during the
service. Jeremy handed Luc to Pierre giving Luc a kiss on the head. Luc had
opened his eyes for a minute and muttered Uncl Jermy. Father Gregory had
watched it all.

The party at Momma's was boisterous and fun. There were presents. Jeremy
complained that they said they only wanted the Christmas ornament. Momma
gave him a playful slap saying that she made up her own mind. Jeremy gave
her a kiss. They talked to their cousins. Marcus was so excited. He was in
his final year of high school and they talked about universities
courses. It brought back a lot of memories for the guys.

They arrived home quite late. They had set the next day up so that they
could have breakfast together, finish cleaning the house and make their way
to the Malenfants. Later that night they would drop by Jamie and Philipo's
place for a drink and time with them.

"You were so good with Luc."

"You looked quite reflective. I love hearing you sing out the hymns and
carols. You do have great voice."

"I know that it is not New Years yet. But the quiet and lovely atmosphere
at church made me think back over the year." He went on to recount some his
highlights.

"For me that time we took back the boat on Labour day is engraved in my
memory. You took me by surprise. I almost refused your suggestion but then
I realized that it was so idyllic in that bay and you were so brazen that
my heart crumbled; I was yours that day."

"Tonight, you looked so at ease and satisfied with Luc in your arms. Father
Gregory was very impressed. It was a satisfying day and night. We worked
hard together in our home to welcome our families. It was exciting,
memorable."

Jeremy could tell that his guy was becoming emotional. He turned to Timothy
and gathered him into his arms. "I don't even want to put it into
words. Let's turn off the lights and go upstairs. I want to show you."

His demonstration was long and very emotional for both. Their feelings came
out through their bodies. There were some touching things said when they
stopped to look at each other. When Jeremy finished it was like a great,
energetic climb up a hill on a bike, muscles straining, the gasps for
breath and the exciting, explosive ride down the other side. They lay wet
with sweat almost unable to move. Timothy managed to turn himself on his
side. He was almost laughing as he looked at his guy who was still
breathing hard. "So church turns you on?"

"No." He paused. "You do." The kiss was long.

Christmas dinner at the Malenfants was everything that Timothy thought
would never happen for him with his family. Jeremy was greeted with love
and affection by both his parents. His father could not stop commenting on
what a great job the guys had done the night before. Timothy reminded his
father that he had made it possible for him with his gift on Labour
Day. The food was excellent

There were a couple of parties after Christmas but the guys managed to
slowly take out dishes and glasses and start arranging chairs and
tables. They put the dining room table against the wall. They set up a
music system for dancing. They would roll up the rug when they started the
music. The living room and the back room was for meeting and talking. They
realized that kitchen as usual is always a place where people meet. By New
Years Eve day, they had almost everything out that they wanted. They picked
up some of the last minute food. Went through their lists for a last time
and decided that if they missed anything, 'tant pis, trop pire' (in
English, never mind, too bad).

Jamie and Philipo had to make two trips to the car. Jeremy started to
laugh. Looking at Jamie, "You are becoming a male, Momma. Too much food and
alcohol."

"Guys after your Christmas Eve party, we owe you." By the time, the first
guests started to arrive, food and drinks were ready and out in two
areas. They told everyone that they would serve the first drink and after
that it was each for themselves. They did point out that the police were
out in force and there were lots of non alcoholic drinks available. Coffee,
Tea and Tisane would be served after 12 with yet more to eat.

Yells erupted when Jake and Marie arrived. They had seem them in the fall
but it had been a long time. Jeremy grabbed Marie and swung her around. He
stopped quickly and gasped. Do you have something to tell me?"

"For a gay boy, you are very observant. I'm pregnant."

There were tears in Jeremy's eyes. "I am so happy for you." He smothered
her in his arms and kissed her. Then it was Jake that he grabbed. They just
gave each other a goofy grin. "Do you know if it is a boy or girl? Date?"

Marie answered. "I may or may not try to find out. We just want a healthy
kid. Probably May."

They took them to the food and drink and Jeremy was so happy when Marie
took a soft drink. She said that she would take a small sip of bubbly at
12.

Timothy realized how Jeremy and he had bonded with William and Marie when
they entered their home. Marie was beyond complimentary on how good
everything looked. Jeremy took them up to the master suite. William had
looked in at the shower. He had, with a straight face, said that it could
almost take two in it. Jeremy shrugged his shoulders. Rye smile and tap on
the arm by William.

James Steadman had turned to his partner, Matt, and said that this place
was incredible and that they should think of a little work on their
place. They questioned the guys on Oriental rugs and it turned out that the
guys had learned and remembered a lot. James was impressed with the
knowledge both had..

The guys laughed when Michael came in and saw the house and then saw James
and Matt. "Holy shit, This place is incredible and I haven't seen those
guys in years." He turned to Jeremy. "Did you plan this?"

Jeremy uttered one word. "Timothy."

Stephen, "Jeremy, you told me you were renovating but this is superb. You
must show me all over the house." Then he was off with Michael and Matt and
then Jamie and Philipo joined them. They were laughing and catching up.

They had talked with Heather and Robert, William and Marie, Andrew and
Jenifer. Mme Chenier had admired their house; both guys could tell that she
was very impressed by their home. Timothy had gone up yet more notches on
her approval rating. All the people that they knew and loved were there
except Momma and Pops and Timothy's parents.

They took up the rug in the dining room and started the music. That changed
the atmosphere of the party. It had people dancing and talking and clearly
enjoying themselves. It was a breathless James Steadman who came off the
dance floor with Matt. "We have enjoyed this so much. We are actually late
for the next party.  Thank you gentlemen. Your home is impressive and your
food and hospitality enviable. Well, done. We would stay but we must be
off."

Minutes later Michael and Stephen said almost the same thing. Then Jamie
and Philipo hugged them. "Guys, we would like to stay to the end but this
is an important party which we have to go to. It won't be half as much fun
as this. Thank you so much for Michael and James. A lot of wonderful
memories and friendships rekindled. See you late tomorrow. Relaxed I hope
and we can watch a movie. No not a movie, the Vienna Orchestra's New Years
concert. You will love it."

The guys had their arms around each other looking at the retreating backs
of probably the most important people in their lives. They kissed briefly.

From behind them Pierre; he and MC had hired a babysitter for the
night. "Enough of that unmanly crap, The shrimps are almost gone. Tell me
where they are and I'll put them out."

They attacked hm and then thanked him telling him where the shrimps and
sauce were. They went and checked all the food and drinks and refreshed
everything. As they did it, they could see the dancing and vibrant
conversation all over their house. There were even groups seating on the
stairs talking and laughing.

At 11:15, they signaled each other. They cleared the counters and started
putting out flutes that they had rented. They brought up the sparkling wine
from the basement with the help of John and Jason. People seemed to be out
dancing and it was one of the first times that the kitchen was empty of
guests. Jeremy slipped his hand onto Timothy's ass.

Timothy swatted it away. He tried to move backwards."You can't do that
here, now."

"Why not? My kitchen, my home."

Jeremy was holding him tightly, "Jeremy there are a lot of guest who are
not gay."

"My house, their problem."

He leaned into Timothy and kissed him while he caressed his ass. They both
started to laugh.

Looking at Jeremy "You are too much sometime. Have I told you recently how
much I love you."

"Well there was something said last night." The hand had grabbed a handful
of his lovely, full ass. Timothy tried to get free but his was held firmly
by Jeremy's hands around his back and around his ass. The kiss started up
again.

There was a small clearing of a throat. In beautiful, rich French,
"Interesting gentlemen but there has been a spill on the floor in the
living room that needs attention." Mme. Chenier started to laugh. "You
remind me of Andre when we were your age." Then with little blush, "Even
now sometimes." She chuckled. Then she broke out into laughter looking at
the guys' faces. The real Mme. Chenier, the one he had imagined, had
revealed herself. It had taken a New Years Eve party at her bosses home.

All business, Timothy. "Wine on the rug or on the floor?"

"Floor luckily." The clean up crew was on the way.

Midnight was a minute away. Glasses were charged. The TV was turned to
Times Square. The chatter slowly died down.. The room started at 10, 9, 8,
7, 6,5,4,3,2,1 and Happy New Year rang out around the room.. Then the room
quieted as couples embraced and murmured things to loved ones.

The ones who were almost the quietest were the two hosts. It had been a
momentous year for them and their families. They had raised their glasses
with to each other with the loveliest smiles. Each said Happy New Year love
and then bent their arms around the others and sipped their wine a couple
of times. Then they kissed. For them, at that moment, there was no one else
in the room but them, standing, kissing and looking into each others
eyes. Timothy was the first to break. "For me a magical year of
discovery. I found myself by finding you. My parents came to know me, the
real me." There were of course tears of joy in his eyes.

Jeremy, "I hated last New Years. The winter and spring were no better
except at work. My best mate was getting married and I was going
nowhere. Then some crazy lawyer asked me on a date. Now I'm here."

He grabbed his guy again and kissed him passionately. Suddenly, they were
back in their living room and they heard clapping and wonderful
comments. Back in reality, all eyes were turned on the hosts. They were
surrounded by well wishers and thanks. Jake came up to Jeremy saying that
he was so happy for him. Mme. Chenier came up and kissed her boss on each
cheek wishing him a great New Year and telling him that he was a fine man.

Jeremy yelled out that they could stay as long as they wanted and that
coffee was on and there were desserts available. He had reminded everyone
again an hour before midnight that the police were out in full force and
indicated that there would be bubbly but coffee and tea was available now.
Quite a few tried their espresso and several found that they enjoyed. it.

The last to leave were the younger set. William and Marie refused to leave
until the place was tidied as did Jake and Marie. MC and Pierre stayed for
a few minutes but had to get back for the babysitter. John and Jason did
the heavy lifting and in a very short time the place looked good. The
dishwasher was full and running and all the rented dishes were in their
boxes ready to take back. Most importantly, the food had been wrapped and
put in the refrigerator. Jason and John put the rug back and moved the
table onto it.

The guys were going to come down to a clean home the next morning. The
goodbyes and wishes were long. William and Marie said again what wonderful
evening they had had. John and Jason were obviously impressed and again
thankful for all the advice that Timothy had given John. Finally, Jake and
Marie promised to keep in touch and they reminded each other of the planned
ski trip in February. Again Jeremy hugged Marie more carefully but told her
how completely happy he was for her. Jake got the same message.

Finally they were alone. At that point, no reflections or words. They

I know you must be really wondering what this is about. Right the priest
asks to see you." He chuckled. "I had a visit from a young lady, a member
of the parish. She is 18, bright and off to university next fall. How do I
put this? She has a boyfriend and they are close, very close. Sometime in

"We'll see each other on Sunday and I can tell her that I talked to people
but she can't wait too long. She is going to have tell her parents
soon. Time marches on as does the body."

"Father as usual you humble me. You and Jamie have changed my life. I
remember you giving me the church's stand on homosexuality that night Jamie

"Do you know how happy that last simple statement makes me. You know, I
have wondered about it myself when I have seen you with Luc. You are a
natural. Jake and Marie are having a child. Luc is young. He or she would
have cousins and kids their own age.  It would be a huge change in our life
but we have the money for a nanny. I think that we can manage our careers

as if that he had.

Slowly, "I have one other thought and a question. I think that we should be
married and be registered as joint parents."

He held up his hand before Jeremy could respond. He stood up and pulled
Jeremy up. He looked at him intently but with the softest, loving
look. "Even if we don't do it. Would you marry me?"
