I could not make a Thursday publishing date last week. I decided to try a
Monday this time. We are nearing the end of this story. I hope that you
enjoy this chapter.

Previously

"So you and Brandon had a good time together?" He had decided to be
neutral.

With a look of pleasure and little regret on his face. "Yeah, he is a great
guy but I am pretty certain that this was a one time thing. He is a pretty
lusty guy and neither of us will leave where we work and live. It would end
in ... oh I don't know. It just won't work but I have great memories. We
were caught in a flash storm and flood and had to stop on the road. Many
roads in the desert have huge dips in the road to allow water to flow in
one of the monsoon downpours. We had to stop and wait at the top of a
dip. The water was rushing across the road and was so deep and fast that
the water could wash a car away.. So we had a bit of wait. Never thought
you could do what we did in a car so easily. Luckily we were the only car
on that stretch of road. Lucky that water didn't clear too fast. A little
messy but wow."

"That's more like it. I take it that wasn't the only time."

"Nope!" He did blush a bit. But that one word, in that tone of voice said
it all and Jeremy knew that that was all he should expect from
David. Jeremy saw something new in him. He seemed more relaxed about such
issues and seemed to have more strength and assurance. Once again his
noticed how good looking and well built he had become. He had changed his
hair cut before the trip to San Francisco. He was working out regularly. He
was glowing with poise and confidence.

They finished their meal and Jeremy drove him home. They stopped at a
supermarket for basic supplies. He helped him with his luggage up to his
condo. He got to the front door when he was leaving.

"Thanks Jeremy for taking the time to get me. I enjoyed supper. It was
great way to end the trip. I didn't even give you a chance to talk about
the job and what you did. I'll see you tomorrow after work when I pick up
the photocopies. I am so glad that you got through the week OK." He paused.
"Missed you." He reached out and gave Jeremy a very strong hug. It was not
a man hug and it lasted a little longer than it might have.

Present

The next week at the Milner/Marchese/Jackowski residence went quickly. They
managed to hire a private detective and he was outside the site by
Wednesday. They all decided that Jeremy and Bill would work until the end
of the week. They felt comfortable and it gave them more time to watch
carefully and compare their observations with the detective's. They all
matched.

Luckily, Jeremy did manage to see and get a picture on his mobile of a
transfer of an envelope from the driver of the cement truck to the crew
boss on the Thursday of that week. The dads gave him royal shit for doing
it but everyone knew that it added a lot to their case. Jeremy had just
smiled and shrugged his shoulders. A courier service had been hired to
collect all receipts on the Friday from all sites and it was made a policy
for the next weeks that receipts would be collected every week on
Friday. Jeremy and Bill were reassigned for the next Monday to different
sites. Jeremy was to go back to his half time with David and half time at
various sites where he was needed due to sickness or special needs.

Both guys got a lot of praise from the other guys they worked with and an
excellent report from the foreman. Both had enjoyed their stay on the site
but were relieved that they had gotten out with no problems.

Jeremy continued playing with the team and had a fine record with
them. They vaulted to the top of the league. Jeremy continued tutoring Bill
on a weekly basis and they managed to very successfully help Bill's marks
increase in math and to fill each others needs each Thursday night and
Friday morning. A very good symbiosis.

Within the four weeks they had all the evidence that they needed. David and
Jeremy easily established how much money had been stolen in the weeks that
Jeremy and Bill had been on site and then the time that the detective was
there. It was considerable. They then scoured through receipts and payment
from the beginning of the year. They then went over the previous year and
discovered that any project that the crew boss worked on was always higher
than other projects. The one good thing for Pops was that the crew boss
worked for several foremen and those foremans' projects were never over
their normal costs when they had a different crew boss.

They consulted their lawyer and the detective agency. It became apparent
that charging the crew boss would only lead to a long protracted court
case. Pops knew the foreman well and went over to see him at the end of the
day and took him our out for supper. He was either a superb actor or like a
lot of the foremen had just taken his crew bosses receipts at face
value. In fact, the foreman was royally pissed at the the guy. They decided
that Pops and Philipo and probably Jamie and David would go to the site
early the next day and take the crew boss aside and give him a choice of
being fired with no benefits or charged by the police. Which ever way, he
would not work again for Marchese Construction.

Philipo and Pops arrived early the next day with Jamie and David. The
foreman and then the crew chief arrived. Philipo had the crew chief come in
and shut and locked the door when the foreman left to take over the chief's
job. Philipo identified everyone.

"Joe, we are here to go over your receipts for the last weeks for both
cement deliveries and lumberyard deliveries for which you have signed and
to talk about some forensic accounting that our accountants have
done. There are major discrepancies. There are more receipts than
deliveries. We have had a private detective counting deliveries for the
last week and half. You were seen receiving an envelope from the driver of
the cement truck on this date. We have talked to our lawyers but not to the
police, yet."

David almost felt sorry for the guy. His belligerent look turned to one,
close to panic as he weighed his options in his head. His face changed
again.

"I have been a good employee, run a tight ship."

Jamie, "And stolen money from your employer."

David intervened. "Last week there were this many receipts signed by you
and this many trucks came onto the site. Last the week it was this many
discrepancies. Here is the dollar value of those thefts since we have been
watching you. I have gone back over the year to date and all of last
year. Every single site that you have worked on has gone over budget with
different foremen. You may run a tight ship but you are a thief." He shook
his head in disgust.

"Don't talk to me like that you little fucker. I am old enough to be your
father."

"I wouldn't have to talk to my father like this. He knows right from
wrong. You are a fucking criminal."

Almost everyone in the room flinched a little. Somehow language and tone of
voice like that coming from David seem even more raw but it stopped Joe
dead in his tracks. Everyone could almost feel him withdraw into
himself. Only Jamie smiled to himself. This was the David that he had seen
growing before his eyes. It was time to talk about a new position for him
in the firm and Jamie's plans but now to concentrate on this issue.

"Be careful what you say, we now have members of my accountancy firm and
the private detective speaking with the driver and his boss and another of
my employees with the head of accounting and the accountant who we think is
your contact and who happens to be one of your relatives. We have a
comprehensive report from the detective agency on his man's last two
weeks. We have photocopies of bills and counts of trucks that go back even
further." As soon as he said it, he knew that he had made a mistake. He
could see Joe thinking and figuring.

He muttered to himself, "Those fucking little bastards, I should have
known." Then he looked at them. "I quit. Let me out of here."

Pops, still an imposing figure, stood up and blocked the door. David who
was closest to Pops stood up shoulder to shoulder with him. Jamie
recognized David's defensive stance. Jamie smiled again to himself; David
was something else. Pops with a harsh, determined voice, "You owe the firm
this much for the last 4 weeks and the cost of hiring a private
detective. You have three days to give me a certified cheque or I go to the
police or take you to civil court." He stood, eyes blazing. He stepped away
from the door. "My office within three days."

The man was gone. Pops looked at David. "Young man, David, you have
balls. And loyalty." Everyone chuckled; Pops didn't usually talk like
that. David blushed as he was then was enclosed in a Marchese hug. They all
broke out into excited comments on how it went with most of the thanks
going to David. They all had to go back to work. Pops stayed a few minutes
to talk to the foreman.

Jamie and Philipo were their usual reserved selves in public and walked
quietly back to the car chatting with just hands occasionally
touching. David heard the thanks and see you at home big guy. Then there
was a final touch and look each gave to the other. He yearned for a
relationship like that and he had made his resolution after he came back
from Tucson. He was going to go out to bars and dance clubs and start to
see what would happen. He might start with going with some of Jamie's
friends and branch out. He knew that it could be a long haul.

With this matter, at least partially dealt with, they all had to get back
to their daily routines. The wedding was only weeks away and then there was
the trip to Europe. Everybody was extremely busy.

Jamie and Philipo had to have everything in order to be gone from work for
3 weeks and make certain that everything was ready for the big day. Jeremy
had to buy a new suit for the wedding, readjust to working part time in an
office and do half days at various construction sites around the city. He
had tutoring for Bill and soccer practices and games with his new team.

The practice went well with the team in mid week and Bill needed help on
the Thursday. The time with Bill had become a routine but not an unpleasant
one. Study and then some action after the tutoring. This week Jeremy didn't
stay overnight but he did arrive home quite late. There were a few looks at
him over breakfast the next morning. He just said that there was a big test
and they worked hard. Jamie in particular had to hold back a play on the
word, hard.

David went out for the first time to a dance club on Friday night and sat
with some of Jamie's friends whom he had met before. He met a really hot
guy, a very good dancer. They enjoyed each others company and they went
back to David's condo and had a very satisfying evening and morning
together. David figured that he had made a start. It wasn't what he wanted
in the long term but ....

Jeremy arrived at the soccer pitch on Saturday and heard all the rumours of
what had happened to the crew boss. He had been replaced and there were
lots of speculations as to what had happened. Jeremy stayed out of that
conversation. Jeremy had a fairly good first half; he hadn't scored but he
set up the other striker with a couple of good crosses; the guy had scored
the only goal of the game so far on one of those passes. As he was about to
leave the field at the end of the first half for a drink of water, he saw
Bill who was desperately trying to get his attention. Bill was pointing
over to his right. Jeremy could see the crew chief walking with
determination from where he had been standing against his car towards the
players leaving the pitch.

Jeremy took a deep breath and walked over with a group of his teammates who
were congratulating him and the other striker on the pass and the
goal. Jeremy was to admit later that he didn't really have time to think
and get ready. The crew chief plowed through the other players and was
suddenly standing in front of Jeremy.

"You fucking little bastard. You stabbed me in the back and got me fired."
That was all he said. Jeremy was trying to figure out what to say and had
not really taken a position to defend himself. The crew chief's arm and
fist were suddenly arcing towards him and hit him square on the face. The
pain shot through his system. He had connected with his nose and mouth and
the blood started to flow.

Jeremy screamed. He flashed back to his father who had done the same thing
to him. "You fucking bastard. You have broken my nose. Jesus it hurts."
With that he was in a defensive position and managed to deflect the next
punch but it was hard enough that he was forced to step back as the crew
chief came at him again. Jeremy regained his balance and swung hitting the
man in the stomach knocking the air out of him. The crew chief was bent
over gasping for breath as Bill and several of the team got in front of
Jeremy and subdued the crew chief.

Jeremy was trying desperately to get the bleeding to stop. "Fuck, fuck why
do they always go for my fucking nose. You fucking bastard, I'll get
you. Fuck! Fuck you! You fucking thief!" The guys had to hold him
back. Someone had called 911 as soon as the blood started. In minutes, they
heard sirens and an ambulance pulled up and then a police car. Someone had
told them not to send the fire truck.

The ambulance crew did what they could for him and took him off to the
hospital. They said that it might require surgery. Jeremy's only reaction
was, "The wedding, the trip. Ah shit, shit, fuck!" He finally looked at
Bill who was close by. "Take this number. Ask for James Milner and tell him
what has happened. If you can't get him then get Philip Marchese at this
number." He repeated them and one of the ambulance crew wrote them down for
Bill.

Jamie was in his office with a client when his phone rang. "I really can't
be disturbed. What! OK. Thanks for interrupting."

Jamie's eyes started to water. His client looked at him in
amazement. "Sorry Bob, that was a friend of my son's. My son was assaulted
and has been taken to hospital. I don't know all the details but it is
probably linked to a forensic case that we worked on."

David saw his boss rush out of his office and talk to his assistant. He had
never seen his boss look like this before. He walked quickly to
him. "What's up boss? Something happened?"

"Jeremy was assaulted by the crew chief and has been taken to the
hospital."

David was almost in tears himself. "What can I do boss?"

Stand in for me and let the other partners know where I have gone. On the
way to his car, he phoned Philipo. Again almost in tears, he recounted what
he knew to Philipo. Philipo sounded so angry that Jamie wasn't certain if
Philipo's first stop would be to find and punch out the crew chief and not
the hospital. He was so glad that he had both their powers of attorney in
the car. So there was no problem, when he identified himself. He was let in
to see Jeremy immediately. He talked to one of the doctors quickly. They
were arranging for xrays right now and possibly some other scans.

He felt exactly as he did that night months ago when Jeremy had been
attacked by his father. He would do anything for his Jeremy. He put on a
neutral face as he entered the cubicle. Jeremy looked battered but just
seeing Jamie made him feel safe and protected. Jamie couldn't help
himself. He bent over and gave him a reassuring hug. The side of face was
twice its normal size and his lip was split and of course his nose was a
mess. Jeremy explained how it had all developed. Shaking his head, "Why is
it always my nose?"

They both chuckled. "I talked to Bill a bit when he phoned. He said that
you were quite vocal at the scene but had a very limited vocabulary.

"What, what did I say?"

"I gather that the words fucking, fuck and shit were used quite frequently
with only a few other nouns and verbs stuck in to join the fucks and shits
together to make a sentence. Oh and you took the name of the Lord in vain
once."

"Dad, don't make me laugh. It hurts like hell. I think he got it right. It
is always my fucking nose." They both laughed again.

There was a movement behind the curtain. "Ssh, quiet. We can't have this
much levity in here." Philipo's head appeared. Quietly in almost a whisper,
"Oh, shit, your face is a fucking mess!"

They were off laughing yet again. "Well said Dad. My feelings exactly. I
guess I said it all at the pitch."

Somehow being together and just supporting each other seemed to help each
of them. Jamie and Philpo sat beside each other loosely holding each others
hand out of sight. An orderly came and took their guy away and the two guys
went to hospital's Tim Hortons for a cup of coffee. They rearranged their
timetables and Jamie would stay while Philipo went to his parents to tell
them the news.

Jamie phoned Gio to get Bill's number and to tell him of the day's
events. Gio already knew as Bill had phoned wondering if he should go to
the hospital. It was decided that until decisions were made, no one would
come. Little did Jamie know that there would be an exception.

The doctor had decided that there should be some corrective surgery,
exploratory in if nothing else, nothing too much but just to make sure
every airway was clear. Jeremy was adamant that the wedding was to go ahead
and if all was not totally well, he would stay home and not go to Europe
with them.

They heard a loud female voice asking where Jeremy Jackowski was. Jamie
knew that he had been overruled by the only person who could do it. Momma
arrived. Her eyes were intense as she took in the scene. Looking at Jamie,
"Did you think that you could keep me away?"

"How did you get past the keepers of the gate?"

"I told them the truth. I am the grandmother. Who is going to stop a
grandmother? Jeremy, I have brought you some food for later today and there
will be more tomorrow. You are not going to eat the stuff they serve her."

"Momma, you don't have to."

"I know I don't have to but I will." She kissed him. Pointing at Jamie "Now
you go. Pops will be here shortly. We stay. You go and meet Philipo and
have some supper at our place. I left some food for you. We'll phone if any
decisions have to be made." Jamie's rock had arrived. He gave his guy a hug
and left. Momma got a big hug and kiss. Jeremy would be in excellent hands.

Early the next morning, the surgical team did their job on Jeremy. In
recovery later, they let him know that they didn't do much and that he
would have no problems; his nose would be as good as new when all the
swelling went down. The answer to his question was that there should be no
problem leaving the country in a couple of week. His prayers had been
answered. He would be released on Monday as they wanted to watch over him
for the day.

On Monday afternoon, David got the call for a meeting in Jamie's
office. Jamie had scheduled it for the end of the day. David couldn't help
it but there was still that little frisson of worry; was there a problem?

"David, come in." They talked for a moment about Jeremy's release and
invited him back for supper. Then he had switched gears and he had his
business look. David wasn't sure how Jamie did it but he could always
tell. "I had some ideas earlier in the summer and after your performance
last week with the crew chief, I know that now is the time to talk." David
relaxed a bit but stayed silent looking interested. "You know that I want
to expand the forensic side of the firm. I need a head for the new
department. I want you to be the man."

David's eyes opened wide and he swallowed. "Boss, I'm,I'm too young."

"You are just about the age I was when I started this firm. I have found my
man for the job and you will report to me directly. I want to be in on the
interviews but I want you to organize an office and start a process of
asking for resumes so that in September after I am back, we can start the
interviews and have this up and running by October. We shall start to
advertise and by the end of the fiscal year, we should get some
business. We'll talk in detail in September about what type of person that
we want." David looked shocked but pleased by the end of the meeting.

Jeremy had been released at mid day and Philipo brought him home. Momma had
insisted and came over to stay with him for the rest of the day, even
though it was not necessary according to Jeremy. He did admit later that he
enjoyed being with her and the meals that she arrived with were
wonderful. David joined them and they had a great family supper with lots
of talk and fun. David would have liked to stay a little longer after
spending some time with Jeremy but he figured that everyone, including
himself, was tired and needed private time.

Later that night Philipo looked at Jamie. Something is bothering you. Work,
the wedding, the trip ... me?"

"You? Come here." They both stood up together. "You are never the problem."
Jamie kissed him with passion. "No, I am upset that I put our guy in harms
way. I know from the look on your face that you think that I am
overreacting but damn it, I knew that their could be problems and
consequences."

Philipo had a determined look. "He volunteered; it was his idea. We coached
him and he took precautions. We had Bill on site. Absolutely everything
went as planned. We got him off site and hired a detective. He has grown a
lot during this. He made a lot of the decisions. No one would have guessed
that Joe would be so foolish to add assault to his problems. The guy got
away with this for so long, he figures that he didn't really do anything
wrong. Everyone has rallied behind our guy and he feels even more part of
the family than ever before. I am the one who should feel guilty; it is my
firm and my problem."

Philipo put his arm around Jamie. "Let's say goodnight to our battle
scarred guy and have an early night. I think you need some special
treatment." Lovely smile on Philipo's face.

Jamie shook his head with a loving look and let Philipo close the lights
and lead him down the hall.

"Hey big guy, you OK for the night. Can we get you something?"

"I'm OK. David and I got a lot of the stuff after we played that video
game. The doctor said that I shouldn't stay in bed too much. I am going to
take a shower and have some hot chocolate. I want to do it myself. In fact,
I may go to work tomorrow. OK, I see the look. I'll see how I feel and I
will be smart about it. Think of all the attention I shall get."

With a smile, "You will disrupt the entire staff, especially the
females. Little do they know you would rather have the guys pay attention."

"Yeah, there a couple of hotties on staff. All taken."

They left him after serious hugs and decided on a shower together, feeling
only fleetingly, that Jeremy could not have this kind of release and
contact tonight.

For them, it was one of those gentle times. They kissed between soaping
their chests and then their backs finally moving to butts and then the
other side. When they were thoroughly cleaned, Philipo knelt in front of
Jamie and took him very softly in his mouth. At first, he just licked the
head of his very hard cock and then took it in his mouth and sucked and
licked it with his mouth. Jamie had his hand on Philipo's head and after
several minutes used his hand to gently set a rhythm up and down. Jamie
stood first looking at his guy taking him and then closed his eyes. Some
how that even made the pleasure more intense. After several minutes,
Philipo felt Jamie release his head and Philipo looked up to see tears down
Jamie's cheeks.

Philipo quickly stood up looking at his lover. "Jamie?"

"How can I be so lucky to have you to love me and to care so much. To have
that incredible young man in the other room who is growing into one of the
finest people that I know. Philipo kiss me, take me and share with me."

Very shortly later, Philipo was lying on top of his guy very slowly
entering him. The kisses never stopped. Jamie had his legs around Philipo's
back pulling them together and moving gently with his lover. It truly felt
as if the two were one. They edged several times by just lying still,
talking and encouraging the other. Finally, Philipo smiled. "Lover, I hope
that you are close." Jamie nodded yes. "Lets see if we can finish
together. I feel as if we are one."

Jamie took his hand and quickly stroked himself. "Now follow me over."

They both arrived at that incredible point when pleasure simply infuses the
body with incredible feelings of intense pleasure and release, as if
everything except that, is suspended for a few seconds out of ones life. It
happened to each of them within seconds of each other, each quietly calling
out the others name. Then it was kisses, loving words and sleep.
