Subject: The Amusement Arcade Part 3

This story comes from my imagination. It is fiction. The characters are
different as are the places to protect the people who may think that they
are involved in this story someway. The mission of this is to bring as
close as possible to you part of the life that could have happened.

I have the copyright to this and all other stories written by me so if you
wish to use this then please ask. This will include all fee-paying sites.

The story of a relationship between a man and a boy is in most countries
against the law so do please check to protect yourself.

Does love really exist? This story I hope will go some way into answering
that question.

				  Part 3

Following How The Other Half Live.

It was Monday when I next saw the family. I dropped Mary and Pam of at
Caroline's to get ready while I took Brian to get ready himself. The
clothing we used for the meal and the party seemed fine. I did of course
use the bear earrings just to make it that much better.

When you see mum do not say a word until she speaks to you. Give her this
Envelope it has a letter in it that she need to go where you are all going.

"Uncle will you be coming?"

"Well that will be down to your mum. I am just doing my best so that you
get there looking very grand. Mum has been worried. I offered to help."

"So this is the school that mum told me about?"

"That is correct. I would like you to try and be on your best behaviour.
The people you will meet get a lot of money to teach you etiquette. The
school is one of the best in the country. Mum told me that it was down to
your Father to help pay for it, you then would have a chance to go there."

Brian read the letter. He did not collapse he just flopped on the closest
chair telling me exactly how many years money mum would have to pay to send
him there. "Mum's new job pays well but she will have to use all of it and
more to pay the fee's. That why she wrote to dad. He sent her a letter back
saying he was leaving the country and needed every penny he had. He said I
should go to a normal school like he did. Mum said that today would be a
day out. We had to see how the other half lived. I like school so I am sure
she would have done it if she could. This will be for her so lets make it
special."

I called Caroline to explain what time we would arrive. Brian just kept
re-reading the letter over and over again.

"Uncle what was your dad like?"

It was hard to describe a drunk who made his living by driving a council's
grass cutter over the school playing fields every day. Every Monday he did
my school and I was tormented about having a dad who was half cut all
day. I was effeminate even when I was young yet I grew up different. The
boys would try to hit me so that my dad who had been drinking would come
running, falling as he did several times.

"My dad, he was a bit like yours Brian."

The car arrived.

"Red what are you doing here?"

"I was told you needed a ride."

"Two more to collect at the tower."

We drove nice and steady. We could see Mary waiting with Caroline and
Pam. The car pulled up beside them.

"Your chariot awaits madam. Brian is inside."

They looked very smart. Caroline had done a grand job. "Wow." That was
partly for the car but mainly for her son who she had never seen dressed in
such a way.

"Mum here is the letter you need. I am sorry but I did read it. I want you
to know that if you could do this then you would make it happen. We will
manage. It will be us again no matter what."

Mary smiled and looked at me. "Now I see why you fell in love with him."

I was shocked. "Perhaps this is not the right place to talk about this."

"Uncle you are doing it again. Did you hear all that Red?"

"Yes young sir I heard. Your Uncle is a quiet person so no doubt you know
him better than all of us." Brian smiled. The smile I had seen before when
I knew he was going to say something that I would not like. I was going to
say something but Brian beat me to it. "Uncle by loving me you have to love
all my family and that includes Bert my baggy old Teddy bear."

"Is that so. What makes you thing that I love you?" Now I did not mean to
get this conversation going but when it started I was like a road that run
forever. "Mum what was it like when you were in love with dad at the
beginning?"

"That a hard question. It was like having a never ending sweet. The time
you ever smiled at something on television it was like that but never
stopped. It was just like a hot bath after a hard days work. That how best
I can describe it."

While Mary spoke Red closed the middle window. I had this boy curl up to me
while like he I listened to her description. I had been there before but it
was nice to hear a way to say love and feel it at the same time.

"I guess you know what I mean Uncle Nathan? Where did this Uncle come
from?"

We all laughed. I could feel me getting redder as time went on. "Coming to
the school sir where shall I drop you madam?"

I shouted the front door. One boy turned to lots when the Limo drew up to
the large double front Oak doors. Red got out and made such a fuss over
Mary getting out. Brian and Pam followed. "I will be waiting Mary you have
the phone but take your time."

"Uncle I am not going alone you better come with us. You are after all part
of the family. This was all your idea."

I got out. Telling Red I would call him he drove off leaving us to meet the
man who came to the door.

"Good morning I am Mr Bates the Deputy headmaster. I will take you to see
the Headmaster."

Through the long hall we walked. Our shoes sounding like a load of
woodpeckers. Mary fought to get the letter out. Through a big door a young
boy, was asked to show Brian and his sister of course around met us. The
children ran off while I was introduced first.

"Master Daniels now Mr I hope. You still run the sea front I assume." Mary
looked at me. "You must be Brian sister. Was his mother unable to come?"

Mary went through the job of explaining that she was his mother but the old
flatterer went through his paces of saying how young she was to be a mother
and she would have to be careful because some of the older boys would be
keeping an eye on her. Well that was the positive side. I took my bag and
followed Mary while the headmaster told the story of the school. It was a
remarkable school. Several lessons could never be taught in another school
because of the highest standards they required and the school had the only
teacher's that could teach that certain lesson's. Half way down the block
Brian and Pam came running. Both the headmaster and I shouted "No running
in the hall children."

"They have a Gymnasium. We can play on the ropes. Is that all right Mum?"

I interrupted Mary. "Brian catch the mobile phone flew through the air, Cal
Red and ask him to come back in the car there is a case with some shorts
and shirts for both you and Pam. Change in the car then ask your friend to
meet you and walk around the side because they do not allow running shoes
in the school"

Brian was talking on the phone before I had finished so we continued our
tour. It took an hour ending with the Gym. The children were climbing
rope's jumping well everything you could think of.

"Lets retire for some tea"

Through tea the question about Brian never came up. "Well I hope you like
our school Mary." I noticed that the formalities had been left. "The school
starts on September the 4th so we look forwards to seeing him then."

"Well sir I just have one thing to say."

"Oh dear me. Forgive me for my manners. Here is your receipt for the year's
fees that your accountant sent in advance. I understand you will supply the
clothing so might I suggest Colliers in the City be the best place to go."

Confusion for Mary hit hard. "Mary I will take you and Brian and get him
kitted out this afternoon."

"Mr Daniels I understand that all invoices to pay are to be sent to you?
Well I have arranged that. I am glad that you believe your nephew worthy of
the same education that you eventually achieved. Brian will be very lucky."

Brian and Pam came in and Mary told him somehow that he was going to be
coming to the school. "That's great mum. Can I sign up for French classes
straight away?"

"An eager young man. I will see to that Brian today."

Several rounds of hand shaking and Red was waiting to take us home. "Shall
we change?" Mary told Brian not to bother being that he was being taken to
be measured for his school clothing. She looked at me. "What have you
done?" I laughed. "What are Uncles for? Every boy who has an uncle should
have the right to have the best don't you agree? Nephew's get spoiled, oh
as well as Niece's"

Mary told Brian what happened. I clipped the receipt to the letter telling
Mary to keep all the receipts in a safe place. I got Red to take Pam for
ice cream while we got Brian measured.

"Mr Daniels, we have the goods you asked for so who is the lucky boy?"
Seeing Brian I sat down while Mary and he did the rest. I had a nasty
feeling that I was almost relieving her of being his mother. The store did
have everything and the Jackets, trousers and shirts were all going to be
made to measure. The staff were very good.

"Send the bill to this account and the receipt to the boys mother. She will
give you her address." Mary came to me almost straight away. "£500, I
cannot afford this. There must be a cheaper shop." I smiled at
her. "Gentlemen this in Brian please set an account for any clothing he
requires for the school and home from this day. Charge all to me. All you
need to do is send the order to pay to me. He can then chose to purchase
his own things. While we are hear Brian if there is anything else you
require take a look while we load the car."

"I cannot accept all this Nathan. Its to much even for me to do."

"You do not accept it it's a gift to Brian so he has a start. You know how
I care. Red take Mary and the children home I am going for a walk."

I watched the car drive off with a face looking at me from the rear
window. I did a bit more shopping collecting all the equipment Brian needed
with a case and a sports bag. I did not realise how long I had taken but it
was Red who saw me. "Come on lets get you home."

I did get in early the next morning to get down to work. Brian came in but
demanded to know what was going on. "You have no right to demand anything
from me. I have done what I thought I should do."

"All that and my school, clothing all for a wank. Who do you think I am? I
could not even thank you."

"I left leaving my assistant in charge. I lied when I said I was ill. I
walked along the beach thinking out loud getting strange looks from every
person I passed. It was Mary who caught me. "What happened? I am the one
who needs to know."

It was hard to explain that I opened my heart to something that I never
thought I would. "I do not begrudge what I did but my feeling ran quicker
than time itself. Brian deserves the best. You have done your best. His
father has gone away for his best but." Mary grabbed me, "Tell me what have
you done that is the best out of all this? Paid a fortune, anyone could do
that. I have a son who has done something. No matter what people say, he
thinks its right. His point is that he has fallen in love with a man. I
knew a man who I threatened because I believed he was after my son. I now
know the reality of it all. My son has fallen in love with you. You have
just turned your back on him after he opened his heart to you. Everything
you did was for him, yet you have decided to deny the fact that after you
both went swimming in the nude, I bet that special day was ended with you
both in one bed. You want me to make it better and take away your guilt
then I will call the police. I would destroy Brian even more than you"

It was as if I had dug the biggest hole I could yet to me it needed to be
bigger so I could be buried. I saw Mary walk away knowing she meant every
word. I walked home needing the time to think. As I opened the gate I could
see a small frame sitting on the step. I did not need to get closer to see
he was crying. I was going to just turn away but my heart was in pain, just
like Brian. Every step I wondered if he had come to do what I had been
thinking. He could have just said goodbye. It was mad to feel what a
relationship between a boy and a man had done. It was when I was half way
up the drive that Brian jumped like a greyhound running into my arms. "You
promised never to let me down. Well you have to know I let you down. I
should have told you the truth today. My father never wanted me like you,
but I never needed him as I need you Uncle. Mum told me to do what I think
is right. I am asking you to keep showing the love that I have never had
but always wished I could."

If people could have seen us they would have wondered what was going on. On
the driveway we were kneeling facing each other, hands held, crying for all
it was worth. Slowly we came together in a hug that was like the two lost
people finding they did have a life but it had taken just far to long to
find.

"Can I stay the night? I will call mum to tell her. I will sleep in the
room you said I could use. I do not want to be without you."

"Brian I do not want to be without you."

I was closing the door when I heard Brian say, "Mum I have got him. Are you
sure its okay?"

Brian passed me the phone. "At last. Now you two lovebirds understand that
this is the beginning of the life you have both chosen. If Brian is happy
then I have no complaints. Just don't let me see you both kissing in the
park." For the first time that day I laughed. "He has made the choice so
its not payment for what you have done. It took me a long time to
understand that my son could want to love a man, I say goodnight but don't
forget where we live Uncle."

"I wont."
