Dontay rose up from a great nights sleep at around 12 o'clock Sunday
afternoon. He got out of his bed and walked over to his dresser and pulled
out a pair of underwear, since he always slept naked, and also grabbed a
pair of Jordan basketball shorts.

He exited his bedroom and went in the bathroom to quickly wash his face,
then to the living room where his grandmother and mother were sitting
watching television, when his grandmother said,

"Morning sleepy head."

Dontay said, "Good morning grandma. Good morning ma."

His mother said picking up her coffee, "You have fun last night?"

A smile appeared on Dontay's face and he said, "Yeah, I had fun."

His grandmother said, "Oh that good baby."

Then his mother said, "And you had your butt in on time. I like that.
Slowly trying to be back on my good side huh?" His mother chuckled.

He said, "Yeah ma."

Then she said, "Oh you should invite Chris to our barbeque this weekend."

He responded, showing a little excitement, "Really? Thanks ma."

Dontay walked back towards his room and saw his sister coming out of her
room. Dontay said turning his noise up at her slightly, "Good morning,
shipwreck."

Ryane said, "It's too early for all that. I liked you better when you were
dating girls. You too damn happy for me."

He said, "You're the one who's acting like getting out of bed at new is the
hardest thing to do."

Ryane let out a frustrated sigh and went into the bathroom.

Dontay went into his bedroom and reached for his iPhone and saw a `Good
morning' text from Chris. He texted back `good morning', and also telling
him to come the barbeque that weekend.

Seconds after sending the text to Chris, Dontay received a text from
Derreck reminding him about meeting he and Rodney at the mall. Dontay went
to his dresser and pulled out some black shorts with a white t-shirt.

Dontay left out of his room with his towel and underwear and went to the
bathroom, with the door locked to learned that Ryane was still in
there. Dontay then asked his mother if he could use her shower.

Dontay said, "Hey, ma. Ryane is in the bathroom still. Can I please use
yours?"

His mother was hesitant then said, "I guess. Just make sure you clean it
out after you're done."

Dontay said, "Alright. Thanks ma."

Dontay jumped into the shower and washed his body, got out and cleaned the
tub and brushed his teeth. Went into my room and got dress. Once he had his
shirt and shorts own, he completed the look with a pair of black and white
Air Force One's and a watch with snapback hat.

He walked passed his mother and grandmother and said he'll see them later.
When he made onto the porch he saw his sister sitting on the steps talking
to her friend, Paris.

Dontay said with his nose slightly turned up, "Damn girl. You're here
again? Don't you ever go home?"

Paris said, "Don't' you have some business to mind?'

Dontay said while walking passed them, "Can you two move so I can get pass?
Thank you."

As Dontay was getting into his car, Paris sparked up a new conversation
with Ryane about her brother's relationship with Chris.

Paris said, "Hey, you know, yesterday I heard some shit about that cute boy
Chris your brother been hanging with."

Ryane said with a concerned look on her face, "What?"

Paris said, "Now, I don't know all the details but it revolves money, sex,
women, men and more money. And when I say women and men, I mean that
literally. Our parents age."

Ryane responded trying to get some more details out of her "Is my brother
in danger or anything?" Showing concern for Dontay despite the fact they
always bicker there is unconditional love there.

Paris said, "I hear that what ever it is, Chris is not into it anymore.
Something he father had him do or something like that. So `Tay is not in
any danger. The question is does he know the whole deal about Chris."

Ryane said, "You're right P. He is moving kind of fast with Chris. But how
did you hear this?"

Paris said, "Hey I got some cousins in L.A. who saw a picture I liked of
Dontay and Chris that Dontay put on his Facebook page. They inbox'd me all
this.

Paris pulled out her phone to show Ryane the messages. Ryane said, "Damn, I
mean, should I tell Dontay? That's my big brother. I don't wanna see him
hurt."

Paris said, "Well, I haven't really talked to Chris. I've only seem him and
seen `Tay and Chris together and Chris is not out to hurt him, but has
everything been said."

Ryane said, "You're right. This is some fucked up shit."

Dontay drove down to Rodney and Derrek's house, which was three blocks
over, a mile away. Dontay parked his car in front of their house and honked
his horn. While waiting he got a text from Ashley. The text said,

`Hello, stranger. How you been? Just checking in.'

Dontay responded to the text, `Everything's been good on my end. You?'

Her response:

`Same. I miss you. I'll talk to later `Tay alright.'

Dontay responded saying, `Alright. Hit me up later.'

Dontay and Ashley have been texting each other a couple times a week since
she left. Dontay knowing that there is still some feelings on both parts.

Rodney and Derrek comes out the house, with Rodney knocking on the car
window to left Dontay know that they were there.

Dontay says, "Damn what took y'all so long? You know the mall close early
on Sundays." He looks at his iPhone. "It's already 2."

Rodney said getting into the back seat and Derrek in the front passenger
seat, "Chill cuzo we got time."

Dontay and his cousins arrived at the mall. They walked around did a little
window shopping until they reached the particular store they wanted to go
in.

Derrek said, "Oh shit. That's what's up. They got a sale going on."

Dontay said, "Yeah but it better not be that clearance rake shit."

Derrek said, "I know that's right."

Dontay said looking around, "Where's Rod at?"

Derrek said pointing out into the mall area, "Over there trying hit on
somebody."

Dontay said, "He needs to be a little careful. Detroit ain't L.A. Everybody
not gay or bi and if they are, they're not really trying to let it be
known."

Derrek said looking through the clothes rack, "Oh big bro knows what he's
doing. He got that gaydar thing or something like that. And look [pointing
out to the mall area] he only goes after dudes that don't seem gay. So that
conversation don't even look suspect."

Dontay said, "Yeah you're right."

Derrek said picking up a pair of jeans, "Alright cuzo. I'm going to try
these on. Be back."

Dontay continued to look around. He wasn't sure if was going to buy
anything. Just wanted to see if something caught his eye. Rodney finally
entered the store.

Rodney said in a conceited way, "Hey `Tay. I got that number."

Dontay said, "Getting readjusted to life in Detroit, huh."

Rodney said, "Yeah bro. You know we left when I was 13 and you and Derrek
was 12."

Dontay said, "I remember."

Derrek said coming out of the dressing room, "Alright I'm getting
these. Let me find a shirt. Nice to join us big bro."

Rodney said, "Funny. I was only away for a couple of minutes."

Derrek said, "If you say so."

Dontay continued looking through the jeans and found a pair he liked and a
shirt to match. It was no need for him to try them own because he was
familiar with the brand.

Rodney said with his hand on one of the clothes racks, "So how was your
official date with Chris."

Dontay responded, "It was nice. Dinner and went to a little college get
together."

Rodney said making humping motions, "You go back to his place?"

Dontay said, "We did. But we really didn't have sex. We did other stuff."

Derrek said with a confused look on his face, "What stuff? Y'all brought a
girl into the mix?"

Dontay said, "Fool naw. We just kissed did some oral stuff, included some
toys."

Rodney said, "Sounds hot."

Dontay said, "It was bro."

Derrek said, "But why y'all did do the deed this time? You did it when you
first met and when you saw him a couple of weeks ago."

Dontay said, "Well I promised my mother I'll be careful with him and
protect myself."

Derrek said picking up a shirt, "That's understandable. I'm surprise that
you didn't before. You're usually more responsible than that."

Dontay said, "It was a spur of the moment kind of thing. Just like in
L.A. a couple years ago. Feelings just took over."

Rodney said, "I bet Janice not that comfortable with you being all into a
guy like this. Especially so soon."

Dontay said, "You're right. She wasn't but she's cool now that she's
met. She told me I could invite to the barbeque Saturday."

Derrek said, "Well at least Janice came around sooner than our mother did."

Rodney said, "Oh yeah. Ma wasn't mad but she couldn't believe it and I told
her I was gay at 14."

Derrek said, "She only became comfortable with it after two months because
it didn't bother me. I knew way before she did."

Dontay said, "Really. I didn't know."

Rodney said, "You did cuz. Think."

Dontay said, "Well you've never acted like the stereotypical gay."

Derrek said, "That's true. But I knew because of things I saw him do back
then when he was 12 and 13."

What Dontay loved about his cousins was how they could talk about literally
anything. And Derrek didn't mind his cousin and brother talking about sex
with guys. He understood their lifestyle with Dontay being bisexual and
Rodney fully gay.

Dontay looked to his right at Rodney and said, "What were you doing?"

Derrek said, "Alright `Tay remember when we lived in that apartment near
the hospital? Me and Rod shared a room and when he started jacking off, it
didn't bother me. I just went to sleep. In reality that's what guys
do. Whether admit or not."

Dontay said, "Yeah. Continue."

Derrek said, "Alright. Well, I remember once time I guess he was jacking
off in the middle of night and I had to take a piss and I couldn't hold
it. So I got up and I saw him on his stomach fucking the bed. I didn't
think nothing of it, I just assumed that was a part of doing it. I came
back from the bathroom and I saw him in that same position but he was
fingering himself. I was shocked but at 12 I didn't really know."

Rodney interjected and said, "He question me about he next morning and I
just told him I think I might be gay."

Derrek interjected and said, "And me being the cool geek I was at the
time. I didn't some research of what gay was and I accepted it. He was
still my brother."

Dontay said, "Oh now I remember. Because you used the computer in the
library at school and we almost got into trouble."

Derrek said, "Yup. I actually think that made us close because before then
I couldn't really stand him."

Rodney said, "I wanted to be the only child. I didn't care how close in age
we were. I love you little bro.

Derrek said, "I love you too big bro."

Dontay said, "Alright cut that sentimental shit out."

They all were laughing and still some said Dontay's name from behind.

The person said, "Dontay?"

Dontay turned around and said, "Robert? Robert is that you?"

Robert said, "Yeah it's me. What's been up bro?"

Dontay said, "Nothing much. School just ended and I got a little job."

Robert said still smiling, "That's what's up. UhÉ this is my girl
Jasmine."

Jasmine said, "Hey Dontay. Heard a few things about you. You were Rob's
best friend before he moved."

Robert said, "Yeah that's true. Give me your number and let's keep in touch
bro."

Dontay said, "Alright."

Robert hands Dontay his iPhone to puts he number in and text himself to
save it.

Robert said, "Alright. I'm gonna hit you up soon."

Dontay said, "That's cool."

Dontay turned to face his cousins and Rodney said looking over at Robert
who was on the other side of the store, "Now who is that?"

Dontay said, "He's the guy who lived across the street who I used to hook
up with almost every day and night during the summer after my visit to
L.A."

Derrek said, "And after you hooked up with Chris."

Dontay said, "Yeah, but we never had sex. We just did the oral thing and
kissing and playing with each other's bodies."

Derrek said putting his hand up, "Alright `Tay I got to draw the line
somewhere now. Too much information."

Dontay said, "He still looks the same. I used to call him Trey sometimes
because he kind of look like Trey Songz."

Rodney said, "Hell naw. Trey wish he looked that good. That is 6ft of pure
glory."

Dontay said, looking over at Robert, "You telling the truth cuz."

Rodney said tapping my arm with his elbow, "And he looks like he wants to
go all the way with you now."

Derrek said, "Alright. Are y'all ready to go yet? I'm hungry."

Dontay said, "Alright. Let's pay for this."

They left the mall and went back to Rodney and Derrek's house to grab
something quick to eat. They chill in the living watching some reality show
marathon. Dontay gets a text from Chris.

`Hey baby. Wanna have lunch tomorrow on your break?'

Dontay responds, `Cool. My lunch break is at one.'

Chris replies,

`Alright. See you tomorrow.'

Derrek said, "That was Chris you was texting?"

Dontay said, "Yeah. So D, tell me about your date with Sean's girlfriend,
Crystal."

Derrek said, "Damn why did you have to say `Sean's girlfriend'?"

Dontay said, "Because according to Ryane, they're still together."

Derrek said, "Whatever. We had the normal night out. Dinner, conversation."

Rodney interjected, "Tell him the whole thing."

Derrek said, "What?"

Rodney said, "Baby broÉ"

Derrek said, "Alright we fucked."

Rodney said, "But that's not all."

Derrek said, "We had sex and it was good as hell. Everything was mutual
feelings. We even came together. Then we were laying next to each other in
her bed, then she got up and went to the bathroom or something and her cell
phone rang. She told me to answer itÉ"

Dontay said, "But you didn't right? You took it to her instead?"

Rodney said to Dontay, "You know damn well this fool answer it. Tell him
who it was."

Derrek said after taking a sip of drink, "It was Sean on the phone and he
asked me who it was, you know, all dramatic and shit. And I told him
straight up. I was like, `It's Derrek from the club a couple of weeks
ago. I think that your time with Crystal has ended."

Dontay said, "Damn D, you're kind of cold blooded. What he say?"

Derrek said, "Shit, hell if I know. I hung up and when she asked who it was
I said they asked for somebody named Mark."

Derrek looked at his cousin and his brother Rodney and said, "Don't y'all
fools look at me like that. When I see something I want, I got get
it. Crystal is what I want."

Rodney said, "Just watch your back. You told me yourself the other day Sean
was having emotional AND sexuality problems. You may be making it worst."

Derrek shrugs his shoulders and says, "It is what it is."

Rodney said looking over at Dontay, "Baby bro get a little pussy and don't
know how to act."

Dontay said, "He's been like that for the last couple years. But you may be
playing with a little fire. You never know."

Derrek said, "'Tay, I got this. I'm Detroit/Inglewood bred."

Rodney said, "Whatever you say Derrek."

Monday approaches and it's back to work. Dontay liked the fact that this
workweek was going to be short only three days. Dontay was also excited
that he was going to be meeting up with Chris for lunch today. Dontay wakes
up at around 7 in the morning to head out to work. He, his sister, and
their cousins worked a different shift than their mothers. While they
worked in the morning their mothers came into work at 3 when they leave at
4.

Dontay walks into the kitchen and sees Ryane sitting at the breakfast table
and he noticed that she did not have her phone and while she still had that
disgusted look on her face, it had a more of a concerned look as well.

Dontay said, "Good morning lazy. Ready for work?"

Ryane said, "Yeah, I guess so."

Dontay said, now taking a seat near Ryane, "What's wrong baby girl?"

Ryane said, now looking up at him, "'Baby girl?' You haven't called me that
in a while."

Dontay said, "I know when you got in the eight grade and puberty took over
your soul, you became `too grown' for those adolescent nicknames. So what's
up Ryane? Boy problems?"

Ryane said, "Not me. Somebody else I know."

Dontay said, turning up his nose, "Who? Paris? What boy would even say `hi'
to her trashy ass? Don't let that girl many problems, and problems should
don't even realize she has get you down. She need to be worried about if
she's still a freshman or not."

Ryane chuckled a little and said, "Damn, `Tay leave my friend alone."

Dontay said, "Alright. I see a little smile on your face. That's rare
anyway but it's nice to see. Everything straight?"

Ryane said, straightening her face a little, "I guess. How you and Chris
been doing?"

Dontay said, "Alright. It's still new but it's good. Why you're asking? You
already know. I tell your ass everything."

Ryane said, "Well just before it gets anymore serious. Find out a little
more about him."

Dontay said, oblivious to the underlining meaning of his sisters'
statement, "Alright. That's the point of dating, talking to each other."

Ryane said, "Alright. Be careful."

Dontay was tired of people telling him that, but it was his family so he
didn't disregard it completely.

Dontay said, "You ready to go yet?"

Ryane said getting up from her seat, "Yeah let me get my shoes."

Dontay and Ryane then left the house and got into Dontay's car.

Dontay said once in the car, "You want to go to Starbucks?"

Ryane said, "Yeah, I need one."

The two of them arrived at the Starbucks near the hospital where they
worked and ordered their coffees. While in cafŽ Dontay saw a familiar
face.

Ryane said looking over at the pick up bar, "'Tay is that that boy that
lived across street with his father a couple of years ago?"

Dontay looked over and said with a smile, "Oh yeah. That's Robert. I saw
him yesterday at the mall."

Robert then looked up and said, "Dontay?"

He picked up his coffee and walked over to Ryane and Dontay and said,
"Well, twice in just a day."

Dontay said, "Not quite a day yet."

Robert said, "Right." Then he looked over at Ryane and said, "And look at
you now. Still mad at the world huh?"

Ryane said, back to her normal self, "No, just certain people. I'll be in
the car."

Dontay said as Ryane left out the cafŽ, "So are you stalking me now?"

Robert said, "No, as you can see. I'm on my way to work. I work with my dad
at his office downtown. "

Dontay said, "You look nice in your little suit and tie."

Robert said, "Thanks. So I see you work in a hospital I guess."

Dontay said, "Yeah. My mother got my sister and my cousins a job there for
the summer."

Robert said, "Well it was nice seeing you again. It won't be the last I can
see."

Dontay said, "Alright. See you."

Robert walked out the door facing the opposite side of the parking lot and
Dontay exited on the side where he parked and went to work.

At work, Ryane started her job at the reception desk, continuously being
rude to some patients and visitors while always remaining nice to the
elderly. Dontay, Derrek, and Rodney job entailed them transporting the
pants from room to room on beds or wheelchairs, and also taking to their
cars for departure. While waiting to be called for an assignment, the
cousins did a little talking.

Dontay said, "Guess who I saw in Starbucks this morning?"

Rodney said, "Rihanna and Chris Brown?"

Derrek said laughing at his brother, "It's still too early bro. It's still
too early."

Rodney said, "It's almost 12:30. Who you see?"

Dontay said, "I saw Robert."

Rodney said, "That dude at the mall yesterday? So what y'all do? Get in a
quickie in the Starbucks bathroom?"

Dontay said, "Naw, nigga! I'm not you."

Rondey said, "Hey, hey. I resent that."

Derrek said, "So what y'all talk about?"

Dontay said, "Nothing really. Just was surprised to run into each other so
quickly."

Derrek said, "Maybe it's fate."

Rodney said, "Well ain't this a bitch. Why can you saw something is fate
but I can't?"

Derrek said, "What are you talking about?"

Rodney said, "Remember when we ran into Chris at the school and I said fate
and you thought I said something stupid."

Derrek said, "In that case you did."

Dontay said, "What makes you say that? What's wrong with me and Chris being
fate."

Derrek said, "Well you have more a history with Robert. Chris was a one
night thing two years ago."

Dontay said, "What's going on? Ryane gave me a speech similar to this
earlier. What does everybody have a against Chris all of a sudden?'

Derrek said, "I have nothing against. We knew if first but still we didn't
talk to him for about a year and a half."

Rodney said, "Chris is cool, but it's summer have fun. Don't get too
serious. Be more like your big cousin."

Derrek said, "'Tay don't be like him. Have so many dudes can't keep count."

Rodney said, "You're no better. Taking people girls."

Derrek said with a light chuckle, "TouchŽ."

Dontay said, "Everybody got problems today."

The cousins walked the halls until they were called on an assignment when
over the P.A. system it said,

`Dontay Williams you're needed in room 320.

Dontay Williams you're needed in room 320.'

Dontay said, "Why does that lady always get my damn name wrong?
Alright. I'll be back."

Derrek and Rodney said, "Alright."

Dontay walked to the elevator and waited for it to arrive. Once it arrived,
Dontay was surprised to see Chris on the elevator.

Dontay said, "Chris? You're here already?"

Chris said as Dontay got on the elevator, "I wanted get here a little bit
early because I figured you might be doing your last rounds and your sister
told me you were on the seventh floor."

Dontay said, "Oh really?"

Chris said, "Yeah and your sister hate her job doesn't she?"

Dontay said exiting the elevator, "Who you're telling? But if she was short
with you, it may be because she thinks we're moving too fast."

Chris said waling with Dontay, "Do you think so?"

Dontay said, "No, I mean we text each other when we don't' see each
other. We communicate. I think it's the normal pace. Little sis think I
need to get to know you better."

Chris said, pulling Dontay close after checking if anyone was around
looking, "And you will and same with me."

Dontay said breaking the stare into Chris eyes, "Alright. I got to do this
transport thing and I'll meet you in Subway downstairs alright."

Chris said, "Fa sho"

Dontay did his job and transported the patient to the next room and went
down to Subway to meet Chris.

Chris and Dontay ordered their food and set down to eat. They sparked up a
small conversation.

Chris said, "So, I missed you yesterday."

Dontay said, "Missed you too. I had fun Saturday."

Chris said, "Me too. And it was nice to express ourselves in another way
like we did at my place."

Dontay said leaning closer to Chris, "Yeah it was. But next time I want to
feel myself deep inside you again."

Chris said also leaning closer to Dontay, "I know the feeling and next time
I will have protection."

Dontay said, "Let me ask you something. Wouldn't you rather feel me inside
you, all of me?"

Chris said, "More than anything but you wanted to be careful though."

Dontay said, leaning back against his seat, "Well, we can still be
careful. We can get tested."

Chris said, "Tested? For HIV? Sure but when will we know?"

Dontay said, "I have a friends who works here. She will do our and put a
rush on it. We'll know in 20 minutes."

Chris said, "How much time you have left in your break?"

Dontay said, "15 minutes."

Chris said, "Alright. Let's do it."

The two got up from their seat and went to go see Dontay's friend,
Christina, who worked in the tech lab as an intern.

Dontay said, walking into the lab, "What up, Chrissy?"

Christina (Chrissy) said, "Hey, Dontay. I didn't know you were working
today."

Dontay said, "Yeah, I only got a couple of days this week."

Christina (Chrissy) said walking over to Dontay and Chris from behind the
lab table, "So what are you doing in here?"

Dontay said, "Ok, this is how it is. My boy Chris right here said that he
wants get tested. Just for precaution and I said that I'll get one with
him, just to ease his worries."

Christina said, "Well let's just get a little blood work and you'll have
your results in 20 minutes. I'll do them personally."

Dontay said, "Thanks."

Christina said, "No problem."

The blood work was done and 20 minutes later Dontay and Chris received
their results.

Christina said, "Alright, fellas. Here's your results."

Dontay said, "Alright thanks." Dontay unfolded the paper. "Negative."

A smile went on his face and one was also shown on Chris' when his read the
same thing, but deep inside it was more of a relief on his part.

Christina said, "Well, you guys now have a worry lifted off of you."

Chris said, "You can say that."

Dontay said to Chris, "Wait for me in the hallway."

Chris nodded his head and departed to the hall.

Dontay looked at Christina and said, "Thanks again for help me and my
friend."

Christina said smiling at him, "Boy stop playing. I know he is more than
just a friend. Your sister already told me about this guy named Chris who
just stole your heart."

Dontay laughed with a light blush and said, "I wouldn't say he stole my
heart, butÉ"

Christina said, "Why didn't you tell you were bisexual? I thought we were
friends?"

Dontay said, "You know we are. I just don't broadcast myself, Ryane does it
enough for me, and I knew that you kind of liked me and I didn't want to
jeopardize our friendship."

Christina said, "I've known you for while. I wouldn't do that and my
feelings haven't changed."

She reached up and kissed Dontay on the cheek then she said, "Talk to you
later."

She retreated back to her desk and Dontay went out into the hall and saw
Chris on his phone, texting or something, sitting on the bench.

Dontay said, "Chris?"

Chris said, `Hey baby." Now standing up. "So I see you got the protection
you need, huh?"

Dontay said, "Yeah I guess so. What you want to do about it?"

Chris said, "What you think? What are you doing tonight?"

Dontay said, moving in closer to Chris, "Why wait until tonight?"

Chris said, with a slight smile, "What are you talking about?"

Dontay said, "Come with me."

Dontay led Chris to the elevator; they got on and went up to the seventh
floor. They exited and Dontay went to find one of his cousins with Chris
following him. Dontay sees Derrek siting near one of the nurses desk
thumbing through his phone. He looks up.

Derrek said, "Dontay, you know you're late right." He sees Chris. "Oh now I
know why. What's good Chris?"

Chris said, "Nothing much."

Dontay said, "D, I need you to cover for me."

Derrek said, "Cover for you? Nigga you're tripping. You're already 15
minutes late."
