Storms can be both pretty and scary at the same time. They are dark
and frightenin', but somehow their mystery makes them almost enchantin
'. I don't like storms, but I can't keep my eyes off 'em. Their fury
draws me in and holds me. It's as if I can't live without seein' the
chaos. How somethin' so scary and deadly can be beautiful too, I'll
never understand. And why do I crave to see another storm, when they
scare me so? It makes me wonder if I seek out trouble. I only have
rare memories of bein' happy and most of those are new. If I think
about it too hard, I'm scared that those thoughts will attract trouble
to me, as if trouble was a physical person. But I almost always think
about my bad luck, it's like that's the only thing I find comfortin'.
Just like a storm, deathly, violent and harsh, but ya can't wait for
the next one to come. Maybe it's ta let us know how special a sunny
day really is. Ya see too many clear days and they just don't seem
that interestin', but throw in some storms, we are reminded or should
be reminded of the warmth and protection of the sun.

CHAPTER SIX

Dandy wasn't upset with Bug as he had feared. When they entered the
house, Dandy was setting up a board game on the kitchen table.
"Ready ta play?" Dandy asked cheerfully. Bug had been nervous at
first, the game was so odd, and he didn't think he'd ever figure out
how to play. As they began the game, Jeff being the metal shoe, Dandy
the wheelbarrow and Bug assigned the metal top hat, he forgot all
about being nervous and enjoyed himself. Bug sat there and looked at
his friends, he sighed comfortably, and loving this simple moment,
knowing it would be a cherished memory forever.
"Ya goin' ta jail!" Laughed Dandy pointing at Jeff. "I always win at
Monopoly." Dandy whispered to Bug with a Cheshire cat smile.
"He cheats." Laughed Jeff and gave Bug a quick wink.
Bug decided he absolutely loved this new game, and it was nice to hold
up the huge stack of money, even if it was fake money, it still made
him feel great.
"Anyone want another coke?" Jeff asked as he pushed his chair from the
table. The boys didn't get a chance to answer as thunder rattled the
windows.
"Holy cow!" Dandy screamed and ducked. Bug jumped and grabbed the
table to stop himself from falling out of the chair.
"Wow." Jeff gave out a nervous laugh and walked over to the window. "I
think there's a storm coming."
Thunder grumbled again, with a flash that lit up the night.
"Oh I love storms." Said Dandy rushing to the front door. "Jeff can we
watch it from the porch?"
"On the porch." Jeff said sternly. "And for only a few minutes."
"Come on Bug!" Dandy dragged him outside. Though it was dark, Bug
could almost sense the boiling storm moving over them. In the
distance, a constant rumble grew louder. Bug shivered as he watched
the mystical light show in the sky, it was like watching a epic battle
of angels and demons.
"This is gonna be a big one. Gonna be a grand slam!" Dandy announced.
"Yeah I guess." Bug said nervously. He didn't want to look like a
wimp, but he really didn't like storms.
"Looks like a big one moving in." Jeff said, repeating Dandy's
sentiment as he stepped outside. "Starting to rain."
Bug looked out into the yard; a chaotic orchestra of celestial sorrow
fell heavily from the sky. Bug felt the thick moisture cling to his
face and lungs as the rain fell harder by the second.
"Hey look!" Dandy yelled over the loud drumming of rain. Bug could see
someone running away from the house towards the lake.
"Who is that?" Asked Jeff stepping out into the yard, hand raised to
protect his face from the rain.
"I know who it is." Bug whispered. He had only gotten a glimpse of the
runner, but in that rainy instant, he knew. "It was Virgil. Virgil
Thornton."
"Virgil?" Jeff said, walking further out into the yard. "What was he
doing here?"
Dandy ran past Jeff, hands on top of his head. "He came from the back
of the house. Think he was up ta no good? Let's investigate!" He said
in his best detective voice.
"It was Virgil." Bug said again, though Jeff and Dandy couldn't hear
him. He stood on the porch and watched them disappear at the corner of
the house. The sight of Virgil had scared him more than any storm
could. It flushed out all those memories he was trying his best to
keep hidden. He thought again of Ma Thornton burning to death. Did she
curse him with her last breathe? 'Damn you Bug, Damn you to Hell', is
that what she said as her flesh sizzled away.

Bug's thoughts were interrupted as Jeff and Dandy ran back to the
porch. They were both soaking wet. Jeff instantly knelt down in front
of Bug.
"Are you sure it was Virgil you saw Bug?" He asked looking deeply into
Bug's eyes. "Now think hard, this is really important."
Bug wrinkled up his nose and looked between Jeff and Dandy. He had
never seen them look so serious.
"It was Virgil, I'm sure of it." Bug confirmed, he didn't have to
think on it, nothing in this world would make him forget what Virgil
looked like. "What's goin' on?"
"Someone tried ta burn down the house!" Dandy blurted out, before Jeff
could say anything. "Whole corner of the house and yard all burnt and
black!"
Bug looked to Jeff to see if this was all truth.
"If it hadn't started raining, I'm not sure what would have happened."
Bug staggered back, Virgil had tried to set Jeff's house on fire.
"He killed Ma Thornton!" Bug found himself screaming. "I didn't do it,
he did. He killed his ma! And he wants me dead too!"
Jeff pulled Bug close to him; even though he was dripping wet Bug didn
't mind the hug.
"I'll call the sheriff in the morning and report this. Looks like you'
re a free man Bug. There's no way Tanner can accuse you of that other
fire."
"Free." Bug repeated and smiled.
"Let's get inside, so Dandy and I can get out of these wet clothes."
Jeff stopped and looked over to Dandy who was staring out towards the
yard. "Don't worry, Virgil won't be back tonight." He assured and then
ushered the boys into the house. Dandy raced ahead of them stripping
as he headed up the stairs.
"I'm takin' a bath." He called out as he slammed the bathroom door.
Bug wondered if he was mad again, sometimes it was hard for him to
tell.

Jeff walked towards his room, so Bug headed to his. His pulled off
his shirt and stood by the balcony doors. It was still raining, a
savior of water from heaven. If not for this storm, Bug wondered if he
would have died in the fire. Why had Virgil turned murderer? He hated
Ma Thornton, but to outright kill her? What was going through Virgil's
mind, what drove him to this insanity? Had it been Bug's whipping that
sent him into a murderous rage? Or had Ma Thornton turned on him,
trying to rid the demons from his blacken soul.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Jeff said as he entered the room. Bug
turned around; Jeff had stripped out of his wet clothes and was drying
his hair with a towel.
"I was just thinkin' about Virgil." Bug admitted and turned back to
see the rain.
"After tomorrow." Jeff stepped up behind Bug and started massaging his
shoulders. ".Virgil won't be able to hurt anyone else."
Bug only nodded, he couldn't speak, Jeff's hands felt wonderful on his
shoulders.
"I was thinking, now that this mess is solved. we may take a
 vacation."
"Where would we go?" Bug whispered.
Jeff moved his hands down Bug's back and around to his stomach.
"How does the Grand Canyon sound?" Jeff casually unbuttoned Bug's
pants and pulled them down.
"Um. the Grand Canyon?" Bug turned around, stepping out of his pants
in the process. "I guess that would be cool." He said without really
caring anything about Grand Canyon. He actually didn't know about the
Grand Canyon, where it was, what it was, but that really didn't matter
at the moment. Jeff knelt down and pulled down Bug's underwear.
"If you don't like that idea, we could go where ever you'd like." Jeff
said softly, his hands moving gently over Bug's now erect penis.
"I. I don't care, where ever ya guys want ta go. I ain't never been on
a vacation, so it don't matter ta me."
Jeff lifted Bug onto the bed, and then crawled on top of him.
"Then it should be someplace special. it being your first vacation."
Jeff smiled briefly and then kissed Bug's stomach. Bug watched as the
man licked the tip of his penis, moaning as if tasted wonderfully.
"Lollipop!" Bug said to himself as Jeff started sucking on his penis.
It was an amazing feeling, it sent shivers through his body and Bug
found himself moaning, just as Jeff had done before. His moaning grew
until it was almost a howl, he couldn't stop howling even if he wanted
to. He tightened his buttock, started thrusting up his hips, beads of
sweat blossomed over his body, and he tried catching his breath.
Finally, the pressure that had been building in his groin seemed to
explode, Bug rattled out a moaning and relaxed back into the soft bed.
Jeff licked the boy's penis clean and sat back.
"Wow." Jeff wiped his mouth and lay next to the boy. "You were
magnificent."
Bug smiled, still living in the amazing feeling of his first 'lollipop
'. Even as he savored that moment, Jeff's hands were on him again,
pulling him closer. It was a flurry of movement, as Jeff madly kissed
Bug, his hands exploring every inch. Bug couldn't stop smiling, Jeff
looked so silly as he kissed and licked at Bug's body.

Bug moved his hands over Jeff's hard erection; it felt so soft and
warm. He could feel Jeff's blood pulsing as he squeezed the man's
penis harder. Bug loved the feeling of Jeff's penis, so hot that he
could feel the heat from it on his face. Carefully he put the tip in
his mouth and ran his tongue over the smooth skin. He'd never given a
'lollipop' to anyone before, but from Jeff's reaction, he must have
been doing something correct. There wasn't anyway he could have put
the entire penis in his mouth as Jeff had done with his, but Bug
improvised by sucking and licking at the sides of the penis., Bug was
slightly frightened with the idea of taking the penis into his mouth.
Whatever he was doing it seemed to please Jeff and to be honest. What
if he gagged or couldn't breath, The man shivered and moaned, which
slowly grew louder until he came.
"You've done that before." Jeff panted and fell back into the bed.
"No. no I haven't." Protested Bug, feeling a bit ashamed that Jeff had
said such a thing.
"What's goin' on?" Dandy said stumbling into Bug's room. The look in
Dandy's eyes made Bug feel dirty.
"Ya'll wait until I took a bath huh? Wanted me out of the way, so ya
two could fool around."
"Dandy, it's not like that." Jeff started to explain. However, Dandy
wasn't listen, he took one more look at Jeff and Bug and then turned
and stomped out of the room.
"Dandy. Dandy wait up!" Jeff jumped from the bed and went after the
dark boy. Bug pulled on his underwear and walked back to the balcony
doors. He could hear Jeff and Dandy arguing. Bug opened the double
doors and stepped out into the rain. A fine mist sprinkled across his
bare chest, sending a shiver through his body that made the tiny hairs
on his arm stand up. As the storm moved on, it rumbled once more, a
savage farewell to all. Bug yawned, despite the fact that he didn't
fell sleepy. He no longer heard Jeff or Dandy, and a quick peek down
the hallway showed that Jeff's door closed. Bug flipped off his light
and jumped into his bed.

"Bug?"
Bug opened his eyes startled by the sudden appearance of Dandy.
"What's wrong Dandy?" Bug sat up on his elbow and looked over at the
dark skinned boy.
"Can. can I sleep with ya?" Dandy asked weakly.
"Sure ya can." Bug scooted to the other side of the bed and watched in
silence as Dandy climbed in next to him.
"Aren't ya mad at me?" Asked Bug without realizing he had intended on
saying anything.
"It ain't ya fault." Dandy whispered. "Jeff."
Dandy couldn't finish, he tried coughing back his tears, but was
unsuccessful. Bug wanted to hug Dandy, but wasn't sure it was
appropriate or even if Dandy wanted anything to do with Bug.
"Jeff loves ya." Dandy finally managed to say.
Bug didn't know what to say about that, he knew that Jeff loved him,
he also knew without a doubt that the loved Dandy more. Life was
always so confusing; it was never as simple yes/no choice. Bug
wondered if anyone was ever truly happy.
"He loves you more." Bug said and then rolled over on his side; he was
now facing the other wall and could see out the double doors. He
watched the distant flashes of light as the storm finally died away.
Bug was slightly surprised to feel Dandy's hand on his butt.
"Ya underwear is wet, why don't ya take them off?" Dandy said in a
more normal voice.
His underwear was damp, not really that wet, but he removed him just
to please Dandy. It wasn't long after that, that he felt Dandy's hand
on his butt again. Bug didn't move as Dandy's hand explored his bare
buttocks. It did remind him of the months he had slept with Virgil and
it made feel a little uneasy.
Dandy moved closer, reaching around Bug so that he could run his
fingers over Bug's bare stomach.
"Did ya like what Jeff done ta ya?" Dandy whispered. "Did ya like the
way he sucked ya?"
"I. I guess." Was all Bug could think to say. He didn't like the tone
in Dandy's voice. Dandy pushed Bug onto his back and sat on his
stomach. With one hand, Dandy played with Bug's nipple as he stroked
his erection with the other. Bug was still feeling uncomfortable with
Dandy, when the boy moved down and slipped Bug's penis into his mouth.
Dandy licked Bug's penis several times and then climbed off Bug. Dandy
maneuvered Bug so that he was now lying on his stomach, which really
confused him. Bug yelped from surprise as Dandy slipped his tongue
between his butt cheeks. His whole body shook and he gasped for air.
It was such a wild feeling; Bug wondered why no one had done this
before. Bug thought the tongue was wild, until he felt Dandy finger
him. This time Bug moaned.
"I'm better than Jeff, ain't I."
"Do.do what?" Bug sat up on his and looked down at Dandy. The boy was
moving up on his legs guiding his penis between Bug's butt cheeks.
"Ya love me better right?"
Bug pushed Dandy off him and in the process fell out of bed.
"What do ya want from me Dandy? Ya want me to choose between you and
Jeff?"
Dandy climbed off the bed and joined Bug on the floor. He was crying
again.
"I'm sorry Bug. this ain't ya'lls fault. I. I just don't want to lose
Jeff. I can't lose Jeff."
Bug smiled weakly and hugged Dandy.
"Ya ain't gonna lose Jeff, he loves you too much for that." Bug felt
horrible, this was all his fault. "Please don't be sad."
Bug held Dandy until he finally stopped crying, they climbed back into
bed. After awhile Bug listened to Dandy's heavy breath as he slept.
Bug couldn't sleep, he didn't want to sleep, his bed, his room, this
house all seemed strange to him. He was the intruder here and as long
as he stayed, he would be a burden between Jeff and Dandy.
