12: Adventure Is Good

"I think you boys had better wash up for lunch."

"Isn't Simon supposed to be here," Cliff asked?

"Yes but they must have been delayed, now get a move on."

"Dad, what is that big thing in the living room," Rom asked?

"It is an electric guitar."

"That's the one Mrs. Mcleod was selling, did you get it for Simon," Cliff
inquired?

"Yes, your band needs a guitar player with an instrument, doesn't it?"

"Your just the greatest, thanks dad." Cliff gave Royce a big hug, Royce
was blushing just a bit, not because of the hug either.

"Now get your lunch eaten, I don't want you to say anything about this to
Simon. I think it should be a surprise."

"Awh!"

Spencer and Leo knocked on the door and Cliff let them in. He was just to
excited to keep the guitar to himself. Royce could hear him admonishing
his friends to keep this quiet as dad wanted to surprise Simon. They left
soon after for afternoon classes. Rom being closer to school hung around a
bit longer, but still Simon did not arrive.

It was about 2:30 in the afternoon before Harvey burst into the studio with
Simon, Mrs. Anitoli, and Constable Brooksbank in tow. Kathy showed up
about three minutes later. Royce just knew she would be keeping watch,
after helping him cary the Stratocaster and Amp over from next door.

By the time things got organized it was to late for Simon to bother with
school. Everyone was introduced to everyone else. Harvey brought Royce up
to date on the day's activities. Mr. Anitoli was at least a day away in
his truck and Mrs. Anitoli needed to work.

"I was wondering if Simon could stay with you and the boys for a few days.
Irina does not feel Simon will be safe at home alone until, Yaroslavitch is
in jail," Harvey asked?

"You know I would be highly offended if he didn't." This brought a smile
to Simon's face.

"Yaloslavitch can be very vindictive and I am sure he will try and hurt
Semyon (Russian for Simon). It could be dangerous for yourself and the
others." Mrs. Anitoli said.

"It will be very dangerous for Yaroslavitch if he comes within sight of
Simon or the other boys," Royce said.

Constable Brooksbank raised her eyebrow in a questioning manor.

"I do have a number of marksmanship medals and my Ruger P97 is cleaned and
ready."

"Remember this is Canada not the US," Constable Brooksbank said.

"Then I guess the RCMP or CPS (Calgary Police Service) had better find him
before he finds Simon, since he will find me at the same time."

Harvey intervened at this point. Explaining that Yaroslavitch's
approximate location was known, he too is a trucker and on a haul. They
also know his destination, he was sure the cops would catch him before he
even knew anyone was looking.

After all this settled down, Royce showed Simon the guitar in his usual off
hand manor.

"Simon do you remember Rom telling you that Mrs. Mcleod next door had a
guitar for sale," Royce asked?

"Yes, yes," he said with a bit of excitement in his voice.

Irina had that oh, no here we go again look on her face.

"My mother sold it this morning Simon, I'm sorry," Kathy added.

Simon looked a little dejected but he spotted the glint in Royce's eye and
the sardonic half smile on his lean square chinned face.

"Are you playing a trick on me, Mr. Evers."

"Would I play tricks on you Simon?"

"Mr. Fanto said you would."

"Well Mr. Fanto has known me for many years and he is also a very truthful
man. If he said I would, well I guess I would."

Simon puzzled about this for a bit.

"Simon why don't you take a look in the living room," Kathy offered.

Simon was hesitant but got up and went into the living room. The squeal he
let out was pure soprano glee. Causing Irina to rush toward his side.
Royce by this time was laughing to hard to even leave the kitchen table.

........................

Excitement was in the air as Royce's new mini van approached the Lazy E.
Royce was glad he chose the long version. Rom and Cliff were excited about
seeing their mounts again, Simon, Leo and Spencer about having a chance to
ride any animal and Royce about not having to wonder if Simon was safe.
Tumbler knew he was approaching freedom. His tale worked overtime in
anticipation of running free with the other ranch dogs. The air was crisp
but not cold, it was good fall weather.

Royce activated the gate opener and the large iron grills swung open
allowing him to pass.

"Look!" Leo shouted, "Elk."

"And bison over here," Spencer added.

It did not take long for the boys to put their gear away, and find snacks,
such as cookies and milk. Tumbler had gone off like a shot toward the
barns to announce boy arrivals.

"Dad will you take these monsters to the barns and show them the animals
while I get the food on the go?"

"You take them Royce, I'll get the BBQ in operation, I thought a ranch meal
of bison burgers and baked beans. Oh, don't forget to take your radio."

Royce took the boys to the barns. He showed the new boys where to find the
rubber barn boots and carrots. The equines were excited to see their
humans again and to meet their new friends.

Harland had re-implemented his anti rustling and poaching plan. Sever
years ago he lost several Black Angus cattle and one Bison. His riders
patrolled the fence lines along roads, day and night. He had a special
reverse circuit, gate open, warning system. This was the time he had the
fancy radio controlled main gate installed too. He also installed a rather
unique device that becomes activated if the power to the main gate is
interrupted or the gate forced open. Hidden below and between the rails or
pipes of the main driveway's "Texas Gate" is a row of spikes that pop up
when the front wheels of any vehicle start over the gate. This can be
deactivated but you need to know it is there and how to turn it off.

Saturday turned out to be a rather uneventful day, except for the boys.
They had one hell of a great time riding over the back sections of the
ranch. Blueberry was able to keep up with the bigger horses until the boys
started racing. She is just to small for that. It was Zephyr that won
most of them except when Thor and Royce joined in. It was just first light
on Sunday when Harland's radio crackled an alert. The ranch foreman called
to announce the pasture gate south of the main drive had been opened and
was not closed. That is the field the bison are in. The fence riders who
were further south turned around to investigate.

Harland radioed his men admonishing them to be careful and to report in
before they did anything. His men rode slowly keeping mostly in the light
bush that formed a tree line along the fence, which was parallel to the
gravel road. They reported the gate was open, but the bison were well back
on the other side of the pasture and had not yet discovered the fact. They
spotted a dark colored SUV had pulled in the field and parked on the south
side of the gate near the fence line. It would not be easily visible from
the road as the deciduous trees and shrubs still had leaves. Harland told
them to dismount and stay under cover, could they see a license plate?

No, it had been removed. It did not look like anyone was in the SUV but
they could not see anyone walking in the pasture either. Harland called
the RCMP and told them of suspected rustlers. Harland woke Royce up and
between them they got the boys together and dressed. Harland explained the
situation and suggested the boys go up to the "Widow's Watch" with a radio
and binoculars. Simon was very agitated about all this.

"What's the matter son." Harland asked.

"I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me, they came here because of
me."

"Not necessarily, we do have problems with restless now and again and the
pasture they are in has bison in it right now. No one will get hurt if I
can help it," Harland said.

"I for one hope it is some of Yaroslavitch's people and I hope they try and
do something like hurt one of you boys or kidnap you Simon. That will give
me the excuse I need to over rule my father and hurt them. If I hurt them
it will be bad, real bad," Royce hissed as he holstered his sidearm.

"Dad," Cliff said to get his attention, "Just remember that you walk the
walk, and your all we have, so please don't do anything that you would not
let us do."

"I won't Cliff, the cops will be here very soon, all we need to do is keep
them occupied," Royce replied.

Just then the radio came alive again. "the main gate had been breached and
there was a black Mercedes stalled on the road just past the Texas gate.
Two men in it. We have them surrounded."

"Just sit tight at the gate? Any word from the pasture," Harland said.

"All quiet on this end but I wonder what those people are up to."

It was now getting light and one could see things.

"You boys go up to the top and keep an eye on things. If you see anything
let us know. Go with them dad." Harland collected his telescope and an
old "Blunderbuss" of a shotgun he used for Coyotes and followed the boys.

Royce headed down the driveway toward the main gate in a ranch pickup.

"Dad, I mean Royce, we see two men, on foot, in the pasture heading toward
the house."

"How far away?"

"About, a Km (1/2 mile)," Harland said in the background.

"Perhaps the bison heard should be moved to that part of the pasture, like
right now."

"Consider it done." Came a return voice from the fence riders.

"Close the gate and perhaps you want to let the air out of a couple of
tires first." Harland suggested.

"Done"

Now when bison don't want to move it is hard to get them going, this
morning they seemed more cooperative then usual. At any rate they moved,
not on a run but at a fast walking pace toward the North west corner of the
pasture. The boys could see the progress of the two men, the bison and the
riders behind them. They could also observe the happenings at the gate.
The ranch forman and three of his men had surrounded the Mercedes. The two
men inside did not seem eager to open the doors. At this point no guns
were being displayed.

Simon had Harland's telescope trained on the car but since the men were
inside he could not see them well enough to recognize or not. Royce
stopped a few feet in front of the Mercedes he drew his P97 and made a show
of chambering a round.

"Now get out and identify yourselves."

The men did not move. Royce put a round in the middle of the windshield
destroying the rear view mirror.

"Out now!" he demanded.

The ranch hands all produced their rifles and made ready. The driver
slowly got out.

"just leave the door open and step to the side. Are you armed?"

"No, I guess you don't know who I am but when you get the bill for the
damage you will," the driver said.

"I guess you don't know who I am either and when you get out of jail, I
just might let you have his junk heap back, if I'm in a good mood that is,"
Royce replied.

"Now passenger it's your, turn, out," Royce ordered.

Yery tall blond fellow about 40 or so, slowly unfolded himself out the
passenger's door. Simon could see his face now and recognized it. He was
very excited and wanted to talk to Royce.

"Royce switch to channel 2," Harland barked.

"Switching his radio to Channel 2."

"Watch these fellows," Royce instructed and he backed a few feet away.

Switched to channel 2 and held the radio to his ear.

"That man is former KGB, he uses a false name but his Russian name is
Antinoff. He was bragging to my father about all the men he killed in
Russia. Please be careful..," Simon said.

"Message received and I will, you say the son of a bitch is Antinoff and I
should just kill him the way he killed all those poor peasants in Russia,
was that one shot between the eyes? I see, one shot to the back of the
head. He lacks the guts to look into the eyes of those he kills." Royce
said in a very loud voice so all could hear.

Royce switched the radio to channel one and raised his arm taking very
careful aim.

"My name is Samules, I don't know what your are talking about."

"Assume the position Antinoff, you know the drill," Royce ordered.

"Rusty, check him out for hidden weapons, especially around the ankles,"
Royce instructed.

Rusty leaned his rifle against Royce's truck and both men moved around and
closer to Antinoff making sure Rusty never got into Royce's potential line
of fire. Rusty relieved him of his 9 mm and patted his legs down. Just
like he saw cops frisking a suspect on television and in the movies. Sure
enough, a small semi-auto in a leg holster on his right and a knife in a
sheath on his left. He placed the weapons on the hood of the truck and
picked up his rifle. The sound the several RCMP cars could now be clearly
made out but still some way in the distance. Harland had been watching all
this and phoned the cops to suggest the come in lights and sirens.

Mean while in the pasture, the bison were getting quite close to the two
men who could see the ranch house clearly but not the activity at the gate.
They could hear the cops approaching. They did not seem to know the bison
were closing in on them. When they became aware of the onrushing posy, to
put it in old west terms, they stopped, evaluated their situation, ditched
their firearms and started to run back across the pasture.

This activity attracted the attention of the bulls. Since bison don't see
very well but do recognize motion, strange motion at that, they began to
show a lot of interest in them. Now bison can move very quickly it they
want and challenging a potential threat is just one of those times. The
faster the bison came the faster they tried to run. The two fence riders
tried to steer the bison bulls away not wanting them to start anything that
even resembled a stampede, no fence on the Lazy E would hold them back if
they ever got going. This assisted a bit and before long the two fellows
were about 50 m (325') from their SUV. The riders broke off and the bulls,
about 5 of them charged the men. They made it to the SUV, now re-equipped
with 4 flat tires. Bison horns can make a real mess of modern machine and
it seemed like all five wanted at least one or two head butts into it. All
this was much to the delight of the fence riders and the boys looking on
from the Widow's Watch.

Back at the gate, Royce was attempting to get at least some information
from the intruders.

"Now don't you think you should at least tell me what brings you to the
Lazy E?" Antinoff was remaining silent but the Canadian fellow, a middle
aged, well dressed man, began to babble some."

He did not make much sense though and the cops were now only seconds away.
One the other hands stopped the lead car before the Texas gate.

While all this was going on Harland brought the boys down to the gate in
Royce's van. He had been filming things from the Widow's Watch and
continued at the gate. Antinoff started speaking in Russian as soon as he
saw Simon. Simon hesitated briefly, as Leo put his hand on his shoulder
and patted it.

"I'm not afraid of you, your nothing but a coward. You brag about killing
unarmed peasants and raping young girls, you think I am intimidated by you.
I am not intimidated by Yaroslavitch either. He is more of a coward than
you. You fools think because I am a child you can rape and intimidate me.
You don't have the courage to try that against an adult."

Antinoff just smiles and Ackerman the Canadian lawyer and driver wisely
kept his mouth shut.

"By the way Sergeant we have two more in the pasture just over there. No
rush, they are surrounded by 5 very upset bison bulls. We will help you
get them out when you are ready."

Now the smile was gone from Antinoff's face and Ackerman just hung his
head.

Harland got on the radio and called the riders at the pasture gate. He
suggested they turn up their radio nice and loud so the two trapped in the
SUV could hear. He told them the cops would be up shortly and when they
showed up to get the bulls a safe distance back.

"If those city guys even open the doors of the van before the cops show up,
shoot them and if they even look like they will harm my stock shoot to
kill."

"Mr. Evers we saw them drop their guns, when the bison started to chase
them." Spencer piped in.

"Well why don't you boys saddle up and help the officers look for those
firearms."

The boys were hungry but they were now excited about being able to help.
Harland took them down to the barn as the others proceeded up the road to
the pasture gate.

It turned out the two thugs huddled in the SUV were just a bit more then
spooked. Royce figured they saw a few to many old westerns and having lost
their firepower took the shoot to kill suggestions quite literally.

Mounted cowboys can herd bison almost as easily as cattle, if they are
willing to be herded, that is. The bison are not quite sure how to relate
to the horses. They realize they are not carnivores or predators but they
also realize they are not ruminants like themselves.

The RCMP advanced on the van demanding to see hands. The riders then
cleared the bulls away but not to far away. The men were told to get out
of the van leaving their hand guns on the seat and stepping away. Royce
stood back about 4 meters (12') hopping one would make a false move and he
could play fast draw, you know John Wayne like. It didn't happen, another
fantasy dashed on the junk heap of reality.

These two looked relieved to see the cops and be taken into custody. They
must have felt a lot safer in police protection, then under the threat of
wild animals and equally wild cowboys. As Royce inspected the scene he
noticed how all four tires got flattened. One of the fence riders cut the
valve stems with his pocket knife, clean off at the wheel. Harland and the
boys rode up with a couple of riderless mounts for the cops to use in their
successful search for the assault rifles, the men had been carrying.

"Well boys, I think that was enough excitement to last me at least until
next weekend," Harland mused as he dished up lunch.

Things were so busy that morning they never did get around to breakfast.

"What will happen to those men," Rom inquired.

Everyone began speculating at once. It was obvious that they had all been
watching to much television.

"It will be a while before they come to trial and then I'm not quite sure.
It will partly depend on what plea they make and to what charges," Royce
explained.

"Do you think they will come around again," Spencer inquired?

"No, I doubt that. We may be called on to testify at their trials but
between the video dad and I made and your story about protecting your
friend, they would be fools to let it go to trial."

The boys all talked with much bravado about the prospect. Royce was just
glad this was over with. He was glad the boys all shared a stressful
experience together. This would bond their friendship like nothing else
short of solid butt fucking sex, maybe even better. He was glad the stress
was off him and Harvey too. Now they could resume their sex lives. And
then there was Kathy, when she heard the story Royce would have semi-hero
status and well maybe she would spread her legs for him. She was sure a
nice looking woman, experienced too, divorced and perhaps in need. He
could hope anyway.

Rom, always the perceptive one ask dad about Kathy a few days later.

"You kind of like her don't you?"

"Sure, don't you?"

"She is a very nice lady and well, has no man around, I think she likes you
dad."

"Kathy is a very attractive woman, well educated, hard working and fun to
be with. She seems to like you and Cliff too, wouldn't you say."

"Yes but we don't need a substitute mom, we got you."

"Are you concerned that if I start spending time with her I might not have
enough time for you?"

"Well not exactly that but ... I guess ... maybe I don't want to share
... I mean ... you know ..."

"Rom are you afraid if I take up with Kathy that some how I will love you
and Cliff less?"

Rom hung his head and look at the floor. Royce reached down and placing
his fingers under the boy's chine lifted his head and kissed him.

"Rom has no experience with having two parents at once," Royce thought

"My love for my sons is not a finite or fixed commodity. Just as my love
for my dad or sister or even old Harvey are not fixed. I love them just as
much now as I did before you and Cliff came into my life. A man doesn't
have some limited amount of love that must be parceled out in finite
amounts like pieces of pie. If you need more in your life you just expand
it."

....................................

"When is the last time anyone told you what an outstanding artist you are,"
Harvey said.

"Kathy, about 8 hours ago," Royce replied as his oil soaked hands slid
along Harvey's inner leg and across his butt cheeks.

"Should I be jealous?"

"Yes, now that she discovered my talents are multi dimensional and include
the ability to capture her Gee Spot. Not to mention my great massage hands
and rock hard cock."

"Ah but she lacks the equipment to properly fuck your ass, now doesn't
she," Harvey quipped.

"True but she does have two holes to fuck and a rather talented tongue, a
lot like yours," Royce retorted.

Royce's fingers were now pressing deep into Harvey's anus. Harvey rolled
over, laying on his back and drawing his knees to his chest giving Royce
full access to his prostrate region from inside and outside. Royce used
his two fingers of his left hand making a come-a-long motion over this
walnut sized organ and the thumb of his right pressed against the perineum
at the same time. Precome was flowing from his penis as Royce's lips
engulfed the head capturing a much nectar as possible.

Royce slowly started to lick around his tight anus. He could tell by the
way Harvey reacted he was liking it, he always liked it. Royce swung over
into a 69 position. Harvey sucking his penis, Royce started darting his
tongue into the opening. Harvey pressed his thumb into Royce's anus using
it as a lever to control the fucking motion of the cock he sucked; pressing
it deep into his throat. Royce had him by the hips, pushing his tongue
into him as far as it would go. Harvey was loosening. "I want you to fuck
me."

Royce flipped around, hoisting Harvey's legs over his shoulders he pressed
his penis home; slowly pushing in, feeling the head caress his prostate.

Royce stayed still for a minute, slowly rotating his hips, loosening Harvey
up. Harvey contracted his ass muscles, signaling Royce that he was ready.
Royce grabbed his hips, and pulled almost all the way out. He shoved it
back in to the hilt, and with every stroke, he went a little faster. The
faster he went, the louder Harvey moaned. The louder he moaned, the hornier
Royce got.

Their bodies glistened with droplets of sweat and massage oil. With every
thrust in, Royce's thighs smacked against him, his scrotum rubbing against
Harvey's sweet low-hangers. The look on Harvey's face was of sheer
pleasure, his eyes screwed shut, his teeth clenched, and his hand furiously
pumping his leaking cock.

In this position, Royce couldn't go as fast as he wanted, so he pushed
Harvey's legs over his shoulders and leaned over him, licking his lips, and
kissing him as Royce piston in and out of him. Harvey reached around and
grabbed Royce's ass, pulling him further in. Royce's stomach was grinding
his cock between them, and their mouths were locked together.

Their bodies were now slicked with sweat and they slid back and forth over
each other.
