Coincidence or Faith Chapter 5

Recap: A man, Adam, and a boy, Tim, met on top of a cliff. They were there
to kill themselves for one reason or another. They went back to Adam's
house, where they fell asleep. Then Tim woke up Adam and said he heard
something, which turned out to be Adam's dad, Don. They went and ate, then
Adam told Don that he was going to kill himself and why. After talking it
was decided to they would talk to a lawyer friend of Don's.

As Adam and Tim waited for Don, they talked about what they should tell the
lawyer. They didn't think they should tell him exactly why they were up on
the cliff and that Adam was a boylover. So it was decided that they would
tell Bill that Adam was up there star gazing and the Tim was up there
sleeping under the stars when they met. First they would have to ask Don
what he already told Bill though, to make sure he didn't already give him a
story.

After Don got there, they all sat down to talk. Don didn't really give any
story so they all came up with what they would tell Bill. All said and
done they will tell him the truth about how Tim was treated at his aunt's
house, but would tell him the story that Adam and Tim came up with of how
they met. And with that Don suggested they go get some breakfast, at
Waffle House of course, and then head over to Bill's office.

And that's what they did. They all ate some, but they were actually too
nervous to eat a lot. And they ate and drank, Don paid the bill, Adam left
a tip, and they left. They chitchatted on the way but not really about
much. Soon enough they were at the office and greeted by a middle-aged
woman, who turned out to be the secretary.

"Yes, may I help you?" Mrs. Johnson said, she had a plaque on her desk
showing her name.

"Yes, we're here to see Mr. Wallace," Don said.

"And you are?" Mrs. Johnson asked.

"O'Reilly, Don O'Reilly. He told me to come by today," Don replied.

"Well, I don't see you on here, but I'll let him know that you're here,"
Mrs. Johnson said. "If you would have a seat, I'm sure he'll be with you in
a moment."

"OK, thanks," Don said and they all went to have a seat.

After about 15 minutes of waiting, Bill finally came out to greet them. He
shook all of their hands and asked them to follow him back to his office.
When there, he asked if they wanted anything to drink, to which they
declined and then they went to business.

"All right, well, let's see who wants to begin. All Don told me was that,
I presume you," pointing to Tim, "needed some help," Bill said, "so I'm
here to see if I can help. But first I'm going to say that whatever you
tell me right now is technically not attorney-client privilege because Don
and Adam are here. However I'm not going to tell they were here if you
don't. Hehe. So whatever you say will stay between us. Do you
understand?"

"Yes, sir," Tim answered.

"Good, now tell me what I can do for you," Bill said.

"Well, I want to live with Adam," Tim said.

"Hmm, OK. And why is that? Where do you live now?" Bill asked.

"I used to live with my aunt but she kicked me out and Adam's been real
cool and nice to me so." Tim said.

"I see. Why did she kick you out?" Bill asked.

At this point Tim told Bill his story, somewhat changed, of how Tim's
parents died when he was 8 years old. He then went to live with his Aunt
Beth and cousins Dan and Jeff. From the start he didn't get the love he
needed but at least he had a place to stay and food to eat and his cousins
would play with him sometimes. The cousins were twins and 2 years older
than Tim. Sometime last year when they were 12 and Tim 10, they started to
play with him sexually. They didn't force him; he loved to play with them.
At first it was just playing with each other's dicks, but as time went on
they wanted to do more. They got him to suck on theirs, but never did him.
Again he really didn't mind it, but he also didn't like the fact they
didn't do him in return. Whenever he said that, they would just say,
"Forget it then, we won't play at all." And that would keep him quiet, for
he liked it. At the time he didn't know he was gay.

Well, a few nights ago things went overboard. Dan and Jeff wanted to try
something new, they wanted to stick their dicks up Tim's butt. He said no,
that he didn't want to. After they tried all their little tricks about not
playing anymore and stuff, he still refused. He had enough of their games.
That made them furious, and they started beating him up. It was 2 on 1 and
they were bigger than him, so he just fell to the ground and curled up into
a ball. Luckily they didn't do too much damage, before his aunt came home.
When they heard her come into the house, the twins knew they had to do
something to cover up the mess they did. So they quickly formed a plan and
went and told their mom that Tim had tried to feel Dan's privates, and was
asking if he could play with it, so they hit him some. Beth hated gays,
and when she heard that, she was angry, not with her sons for beating on
Tim, but with Tim for acting gay. So she went straight to Tim and before
he could explain, she went at it. She started hollering about this and
that, and slapping him a few times. She finally told him to get out, that
she didn't want to see him. So he did, he just ran out of the house and
went to the park to cry.

After a while he got tired but didn't know where to go so he went back
home, but slept outside in the back yard. He was awakened by his cousins
kicking at him. They started to call him names like fagboy, queer, and
worse, and they had some other kids with them, some were his friends, so he
thought. He had to get away so he ran. He finally ended up on top of a
cliff that he used to play at some times to sleep under the stars. And
that's where he met Adam who let him come stay with him, fed him, and
bought him some new clothes. And now he was here.

"What were you doing up there, Adam?" Bill asked.

Sticking to the plan, Adam said, "I go up there sometimes to look at the
stars with my telescope. I haven't been up there in a while, it's a good
thing I went that night or who knows where Tim would be." And he thought
to himself, `Where would both of us be?'

"OK, well then. So I take it you would be willing to take Tim in and care
for him?" Bill asked and Adam nodded. "And you do have the financial
capability to do that?"

"Oh yes, sir, I'm a silent partner in a few businesses and get most of my
income through them which is more than enough, but I also do some web
designing at home through one of the companies and make my own hours," Adam
said, "so I'll have the money and time to care for him."

"That's good, now all we have to do is try and get his aunt to turn over
guardianship which might be a problem," Bill said. "It sounds like she
isn't a good person and if she thinks it'll make Tim happy then she might
not do it. On the other hand if she hasn't reported him missing yet, then
she could get in trouble, but probably not much."

"So what do you suggest we do then?" Adam asked.

"Well, the first thing that we have to do is find out if he's been reported
missing. If so, then we'll have to act quick," Bill said. "But if not,
then we'll have a couple of days to plan and do something. If we wait too
long then it'll hurt her for not reporting it, but it'll hurt us too for
not going to the police sooner. I'll go right now and make a phone call to
see if he's been reported, then we can see where we'll go from there.
Excuse me." Bill then got up and left the room.

"What if this don't work out?" Tim asked.

"It will," Don said.

"But what if it doesn't?" Tim asked.

"If by some chance this doesn't work out, then we'll think of something,
but let's not worry about that till it happens," Adam said and gave Tim a
small hug. Just as they straightened back up, Bill came back into the
room.

"Well, right now no one has reported you missing. But I'm going to check
again before I leave tonight and again in the morning, just in case," Bill
said, "I suggest that you stay at Adam's house for now so that nobody sees
you that you might know. I'm going to do some checking on Aunt Beth and
see if there's anything that we can use against her. I'm also going to
think of how to go about this, I suggest you do too and meet me here
tomorrow for lunch and see what we can come up with. OK?"

"That works for us," Adam said, getting up from his seat. "Thank you for
helping us, we'll see you tomorrow."

By this time Don and Tim got up too, they all shook hands and Bill led them
out. After saying their good- byes, Don, Adam, and Tim got in the truck
and went back to Adam's house. When they got to the house, there was a car
parked in the driveway and someone sitting in it.

"Oh man, what's today?" Adam asked.

"Monday. Why?" Don asked.

"That's Josh, I forgot that he'd be by today. And I'm not done with the
program yet," Adam said. "He's going to be mad. Hehe."

They pulled up behind the car, parked, and got out. Josh got out of the
car too but before he could say anything, Adam said, "I'm so sorry, Josh,
I've had a bit of a family emergency. I hope you haven't been waiting too
long." They shook hands.

"No problem, I just got here a few minutes ago," Josh said and turned to
the other two, "Hi, Don, and."

"This is Tim. Tim, this is Josh," Adam said.

"Hi," they both said at the same time.

"Why don't we go inside," Adam said and led the way.

Once inside they all went to the living room and got comfortable, Adam then
went and made everyone something to drink and brought it to them. After
they all got settled down, Adam said, "I've got some bad news. I didn't
get done on the program yet. It's almost done but."

"Don't worry about it, I just hope that you're all right," Josh said and
gave Adam a worried look.

At that time Adam had forgotten that he also sent Josh an email saying that
he was going to kill himself and then one saying he didn't but not why.
When he saw that look, he knew he had to tell him something, "I'm doing
good now, because of Tim here." Josh gave him another look so Adam went on
to tell him that he had met Tim the night that he was going to kill
himself. And he found out that Tim needed help so that gave him something
to do in his life. He was happy now, but now they had to find a way to get
Tim's aunt to let him get custody.

"Man, well, I hope you don't do anything like that again, and that
everything turns out good for you," Josh said. "And about the program, you
got a week to get it done. Hehe."

They all chatted for a while and came up with a plan but will have to wait
and run it by Bill tomorrow. Till then they decided to send Don out for
food and when he got back they played some Monopoly to pass time. They
just hoped that tomorrow would turn out good.
