"It seems Carl has connections in a lot of places but this is one war he is
not winning," Kevin replied, really not knowing what to say other than what
he had been told. "It seems as though Carl's family was well connected and
stood behind him although he was the black sheep of the family. This man is
not getting anywhere near these boys while they are here. I plan to select
certain staff on all shifts and only they will be allowed in the boy's room
while they are in the hospital," he continued

"Well, I know when we get them back home I plan to hire some off-duty
police to help secure our home until this mess is over," Gary stated. "My
little brother is going to be safe one way or another if I have to take him
out of state until Carl is captured." He let out a sigh and lay his head on
Jim's shoulder.

"Well guys, it is late and I need to get home to Allen. I will see you both
in the morning; I am going to have a cot sent in for you two to try and get
some rest," Kevin told them as he prepared to leave for the night. "I will
see you guys first thing in the morning."

Chapter 9


It had been one week since Michael had been shot an both boys had been
admited to the hospital. For safety Davey had been kept in the hospital
along with Michael an under guard. Ellen had been arrested for atempted
murder but the DA had lessened the charge to assault since she had agreed
thru her lawyer to a plea agreement an she would lose her license as a
nurse. The guys were not real happy about this but it would keep the guys
out of court until Carl was caught an locked up. So far Carl had laid low
an had not been seen or heard from, but we all know he is still lurking
making plans.

" Good morning guys " Dr. Kevin announced as he entered the hospital room
to find Davey perched beside Mike on his bed. "are you guys ready to blow
this fine hotel this morning? "

" Doc, I have been ready for the past week to blow this joint." Mike stated
as he sat up on side of the bed wrapping his arms around the happy young
man beside him. " Sorry Doc but the food at your hotel as you call it sucks
I am ready for some food I can actuall identify" he laughed.

"Yea I am ready for some of my mom's doughburgers " Davey added jumping
down an was ready to start getting his clothes they had brought for him
from the closet.

"Seems like someone is in a hurry." Kevin laughed " let me check you over
Mike an then I think I can get you guys out of here as soon as Gary an Jim
get back from breakfast." he continued as he started checking Mike an an
telling him what he still needed to do. "I still want you to take it
careful for at least another two weeks no work at all an no lifting. I
specially do not want you riding in no rodeos until I clear you after a
week you can do some pleasure riding as I know you an Davey both are not
gonna stay off a horse long. Maybe you can take this time to kind of coach
our little rodeo clown over there. " he laughed at the last statement
looking at Davey who had stripped an was getting his jeans on while
sticking his tongue out at Kevin.

"hey at least i can stay on a horse when i ride unlike you doc." Davey
quipped while smirking.

"Oh yea well next time i get someone else to choose the horse i ride an not
you you little scamp. " Kevin laughed remembering the weekend before the
shooting when he an Allen had gone riding with the guys an Davey had chose
the horse for him knowing the horse whould only let Davey ride her an he
had been thrown thirty seconds after he mounted while Davey stood
laughing. " Remeber paybacks are a bitch an I can give you shots instead of
the nurse you know." He added with a wicked gleem in his eyes.

Just as Mike was getting up to go into the bathroom to dress Gary an Jim
entered the room with a soda for Davey an coffee for Mike.

"Hey Doc how goes it ?" Gary asked patting Kev on the back

"Going great getting rid of two pain in the butts this morning if you guys
will promise to keep them out of my hair for at least a year or two" Kevin
joked. " I am dismissing them this morning so as soon as i have their
discharge papers ready they can get out of here. I understand you have
things ready at home." he continued with a more serious tone.

"yea everything is all set. We are not letting either one out of sight for
a while. We are even moving Mike in with us so everyone will be in one
place an the security we hired will have an easier time of it plus we are
still working on Davey's house so that when all this is over he an his mom
can move in an be comfortable. We have all Davey an his mom's stuffed moved
an all his horses an tack are at our place now." Jim spoke for the first
time while helping Davey get his boots on.

" I really wish Marilyn would quit work right now till all this is over but
she is stubborn an refuses to quit. She has moved though to cooking in the
kitchen." Gary said worrying about his little brothers mom an was now like
a mom to him too. Which for the cafe is a big plus as we know what a great
cook she is." he added

"Oh man how well we know last time we were out at your place an she made
her doughburgers man I was in seventh heaven." Kevin reminisced rubbing his
stomach.

"Yea mom makes the best." Davey boasted

"Ok guys i am gonna leave ya now gotta go get your discharge papers
ready. The nurse will bring them in an then you will be free to go." Kevin
told the guys as he lefted the room leaving the guys to finish their drinks
while waiting for discharge papers.

"Dang I will be so GLAD to get out of here an get some fresh air>" Mike
exclaimed as he took a drink of his coffee. "Thanks for the coffee guys the
crap they bring on the trays here can't even pass for colored water much
less coffee. he stated " But then what can you except for hospitals" he
added laughing.

" I know what ya mean there my man" laughed Jim "but I don't know how much
freash air you get on a horse farm smelling horse manure." he continued
still laughing.

"Hey even smelling horse manure will beat being cooped up in here smelling
all these disinfectants all the time." Mike returned

" I hear ya Mike, it has been a rough week but maybe things have settled
down." Gary added noticing Davey had gotten awful quiet an sensing he was
worried about something. " Hey little bro why so quiet over there? he
cheerfully asked trying to brighten Davey's mood.

"nothing just listening to everyone else" Davey answered trying to make
everyone believe he was ok but inside he was actually scaqred now of
leaving the hospital. He was still scared caused Carl was still out there
an he was afraid he would still get to him somehow.

"Come on bro you can't fool me." Gary stated " Come here brother' he
basically commanded opening his arms an wrapping them around his little
brother. " Now tell me whats wrong normally you would be bouncing off the
walls" Gary softly spoke to his brother pulling him tight against him.

" I am scared Gary, I am afraid Carl is still gonna come after me he won't
stop till he gets me." Davey softly cried on his Grays shoulder as he
started to tremble.

"Hey sweetie no one is gonna get near you." Started tried soothing the
scared child in his arms while Mike an Jim looked on shocked at what Davey
had finally admitted. "We have armed security all around the farm an even a
security guard is keeping watch over your mom while she is at work. We
aren't letting anyone near you that shouldn't be near you." Gary continued
trying to calm Davey's fears.

" Baby I am gonna be with you 24/7." Mike added " I promise you Carl or no
one is taking you anywhere or doing any harm to you."  getting up an
wrapping his arms around Davey along with Gary Jim joined them also. They
all were still tangled in a fourway hug fest when the nurse entered the
room with the papers discharging both boys.

" I hate to break up such a beautiful scene but I have papers here kicking
my two favorite patients out of here all tho the youngest one i just moght
have to keep for myself since he is such a cutie an I am so into younger
guys." the nurse Hazel who had known Davey an his mom for years joked.

" Thanks Ms. Hazel but I am taken." Davey smiled as he gave Hazel a hug.

" Now you boys be good an take care of yourselves an each other." she said
hugging Davey back then standing an looking at Mike " And you young man had
better take good care of this young man here or I will come looking for you
with the biggest needle i can find to poke in you do you hear me." she
tried to sound stern even tho she was almost bursting out in laughter.

" Yes Mam" Mike saluted in an army stance. "Taken care of Mam>" he had to
continue as he bursted into laughter causing Hazel to lose her stern look
an bursting our herself just as Kevin entered the room to say good bye to
the guys.

"You guys are nuts in here." He said shaking his head in disbelief at Hazel
one of the most professional people he had ever worked with an hardly seen
smile much less laughing. " Mike I wanna see you back in the office in a
few days to recheck the incision. You can call the office an make an
appointment. Other than that you guys are ready to go." Kevin told the guys
as everyone hugged Hazel an thanked her an Davey hugged Kevin. " I will see
you guys this weekend at the farm Jim has invited me to a barbque. Kevin
told Davey an Mike as they all walked out of the hospital room an toward
the elevator to take them out to the basement where Jim had a car ready
with a security guard to take them home.

As the guys loaded in the car the mood was a little more lively than in the
room. Davey was cuddled up to Mikey as Jim was cuddled to Gary. Jim had
gone all out an hired a limo to take the guys home from the hospital. Davey
was having a blast being his first time in a limo.

"Man this is one bad car" Davey exclaimed checking the car out an finding
the mini fridge that was stocked with sodas since Jim knew they would want
drinks since he had no plans for them to go straight home he wanted to let
the guys have some fresh air an get outside even tho they were in a car.

"help yourselves to sodas guys that is why they are here" Jim told them
getting a kick at seeing Davey's excitement an the grin on his lovers face.

Gary was trying to think of the ways he was gonna show his appreciation to
his lover for what he was doing for his little brother an his partner. He
had no idea Jim was hiring a limo. This would be Gary an Jim's first time
at home in their own bed since the shooting an he had plans for a while
night of lovemaking to show his love how much he had missed their nights
alone in bed.

Leaning into his lover Gary whispered in his ear " Thanks love for doing
this. I will show you more thanks tonight when we are alone." he added as
he kissed him gently on his neck an ear.

"mmmmmmm better stop right now babe an not start something we can't
finish. We do have a child in the car remember even tho he may know more
than we do." Jim whispered back with a giggle in his voice. The guys
watched Davey cuddling up as close as he could to Mikey an smiling to
themselves knowing that both guys were in love an would be together for a
long time if they had any say into it an they planned too.

"I think someone is happy to be out of the hospital." Mikey said as he
hugged Davey closer to him.

"I am just happy to be anywhere my boyfriend is but yea preferably out of a
hospital." Davey returned reaching up to kiss his boyfriend. " To many
nosey people in the hospital I could hardly get a kiss without someone
poking their nose in the room." he grumply added.

"Oh before i forget Davey your friend Jimmy is home an has been calling the
house to ask about you." Gary told him.

"oh great can't wait to see him again I hope he is ok now." Davey answered
with genuine concerned for his friend. He an Jimmy had competed together an
against each other in several horse shows an rodeos but they were best
friends win or lose. He remembered the accident that almost cost him his
friend for a while they did not know if jimmy would live or not but finally
he had slowly gotten better an was now home he was excited an happy now. He
could hardly wait to introduce jimmy to his new boyfriend. " I thought we
were going home?" Davey asked wondering why they had been riding for so
long.

" I just thought I would make good use of the limo while we had it." Jim
answered. He didn't wanna give away the surprise that not even Gary knew
about. He an Marilyn an Sister Baylor had planned a surprise homecoming
party for the guys. Kevin had been in on it an was letting everyone know
the guys were out an what time they would be arriving so everyone could be
there an be setup an ready. All of Davey's friends an some of Michaels an
their family's that wanted to be there were invited. Jim did not tell Davey
but his friend Jimmy would be there even tho he was still using a wheel
chair because of his broken legs. " I know you are anxious to get home an
see the horses but lets just ride around a while" Jim continued knowing he
would need at least another forty five minutes.

"Lets just enjoy what Jim has gone an done for us babe." Michael spoke up
as he brought Davey up into his lap an cuddled him close. "We may not get a
chance to cuddle like this for a while so enjoy it while you can." he
finished kissing his young lover lightly not wanting to get to heavy in the
car. Gary an Jim just smiled at each other seeing the love an happiness
radiate from the two young lovers.


after driving around for another 45 minutes to an hour Jim finally told the
driver to head for the farm. Within just a few minutes the car was pulling
into a now gated drive with security men standing guard at the gate. The
boys were to engrossed in being home they did not notice the other cars
parked in the field next to the house as the car drove them to the front of
the house.

The driver got out an opened the door for them and as they stepped out they
were greeted by a huge banner that read WELCOME HOME DAVID AN MICHAEL. Both
boys had tears in their eyes as they looked at the sign even Gary was in
awe since he had not been in on the surprise. He looked at Jim an Jim just
gave him a look that said just go along with it.

The Gang walked into the house an Jim suggested they go out back an go
check the horses. "hey Guys why don't we all go out to the barn an check
our horses I know they have been missing two certain boys." he said wanting
to get the boys to out out the back door to the back yard where everyone
was waiting. As Michael an Davey walked out the back door with jim an Gary
lagging behind just a second they could not believe what they saw. Gathered
outside were what looked like everyone they knew. Tears came in both boys
eyes as everyone shouted welcome an Davey's mom an Sister Baylor ran an
grabbed both boys in hugs an kissed them welcoming them home.

"welcome home baby." Marilyn choked back her tears as she welcomed her son
hom before turning to Mike," welcome home son." she finished as she as she
hugged her son's boyfriend.

Sister Baylor was getting her hugs an kisses in welcomeing both boys home
with tears in her eyes also. She wrapped her arms around both young men an
kissed them both on the cheek. "welcome home my babies welcome home." she
cried softly. As she turned the boys loose people started coming up hugging
them an welcoming them home.

Davey had not noticed one lone figure sitting off to himself in a
wheelchair until some of the crowd had clear. When Davey finally got a
chance to look around he screamed an ran toward his best friend. "
Jimmmmmmmmmmmmmy" was all you could hear as he knelt an grab his friend in
a tight hug. " God it is so good to see you, I have missed you so much." he
cried into his friends shoulder as the two young friends embraced each
other. "I have missed you too Motormouth" Jimmy returned using a nickname
that only he was allowed to use with Davey. Neither boy had noticed that
Michael had walked up silently watching the two friends interact with each
other.

" Ok guys enough hugging lets go eat. Mammaw is getting ready to return
thanks so lets get over there." Michael spoke as Davey stood an got behind
Jimmys chair to wheel him over to a table.

" Jimmy, this hunk here is Michael he is my new boyfriend, but not everyone
here knows yet so don't say anything, Michael this is my best friend
Jimmy." Dave said introducing his boyfriend an his friend to each other.

"We gotta talk later Dave." Jimmy replied with a hint of shock in his
voice.

"Sure bro but lets eat I am starving hospital food sucks." Dave answered
pushing jimmy along in behind Mike who was leading the way to the table.

As everyone gathered around Jim spoke " If I can have everyones attention
please. I have asked Sister Baylor to return thanks and then everyone can
dig in an enjoy and I want to thank everyone who was in on this surprise
homecoming party for the guys an everyone who has cooked an brought food an
help set everything up. Sister Baylor if you will please." He finished

"Father we gather here on this glorious day to thank You for what You have
given us an for returning two of Your children safely home to us. We Thank
You Father for this food an for those that have prepared it. Bless this
food to the nurishment of our body's an our body's to Thy service. Keep us
all safe from harm an bless this home is our prayer today Oh Lord, Amen."
Rev, Baylor finished with reverence as the crowd echoed Amen.

Everyone begin filling plates with the assortment of meats an veggies that
were laid out on two 8 ft long tables an then returning to the tables where
they had set up for everyone to sit an eat. The conversations were lite an
airy as everyone ate an just enjoyed the warm summer day.

"so when do you get rid of the wheels Jimbo?' Davey asked while digging
into his food.

"Doc said if my legs keep healing like they are I may only have to use them
another couple three weeks but I will still need crutches for a few weeks
after that until they get full strength back." Jimmy replied. " I can't
wait to get back on a horse an ride again." he continued with sadness in
his voice.

"You'll be back on in no time bro an I will still be kicking your butt in
competition." Davey laughed trying to cheer his friend up

"Yea yea, " Jimbo came back " seems like I remember last time it was I who
kicked your butt." he laughed.

Mike just sat back enjoying his food an watching the playful banner between
his boyfriend an his friend glad that Davey was having a good time an not
thinking about what had happened right now. Mike could tell when these two
were together they were gonna be a handful to handle but yet fun at the
same time.

As Davey an Jimbo were talking back an forth joking an laughing it dawned
on Davey that someone was missing. "hey where is Dale he should be here
too?" Davey asked no one inparticular but looking at Jimbo.

"He had to go to his grandma's house today. He said to tell you he really
wanted to be here to welcome you home, but would see you later tonight when
he got home." Jim spoke from across the table where he an Gary had been
conversing with Marilyn an Rev. Baylor.

After everyone was finished eating the ladies were clearing off the tables
an the guys were all milling around visiting an chatting. Davey an Mike an
Jimbo found a shaded corner of the yard where they could be alone to talk.

"Ok motormouth out with it you got some explaining to do." Jimbo started
smacking his friend on the back of the head lightly. " Why didn't I know of
the new boyfriend till now?" he asked pouting.

" I haven't had a chance to see you an tell you, I have been in love with
Mike since i met him three years ago but never thought he could ever love
me." Davey remembered back to the first time he saw Mike enter the
church. He remembered thinking that was the man he would love to spend his
life with but thought to himself that is just wishful thinking. " I just
recently confested my love to him an he told me he had loved me for a while
now too so now here we are together." Davey smiled taking Mike's hand in
his.

"Well Mr. all I can say is you better take care of my man here of you gonna
have to deal with me." Jimbo laughed as he reached out to shake Mike's
hand. "Just one question tho ain't he a little to old for you. He looks
like an OLD man to me." Jimbo said shaking in laughter.

"Old man huh, if you were not in that chair I would show you old." Mike
quipped back making out like he was gonna attack Jimbo but instead grabbing
him in a hug.

" Hey Davey control this beast you call a boyfriend before i have to hurt
him" Jimbo laughed as Mike tickled his ribs gently as not to hurt him as he
was still healing from his accident.

"Seems like there is a lot I have missed since i been in the hospital an
rehab." Jimbo spoke more seriously now. "Wow I can't believe you are living
here with Mr. Duckworth an to find out he is gay an his partner is actually
your brother." he laughed at everything that had happened. "It has to suck
living with two school teachers. It would be like having to be in school
24/7." he giggled

"It ain't that bad they leave school at school at home they are just
regular guys." Davey defended " It is great having a new brother too, an I
found I now own the house next door with the barn an all I got a good piece
of land. I want to start raising horses." Davey added telling his friend
everything he knew.

"Wow you have struck it rich maybe you can buy me a new dirt bike now."
Jimbo joked knowing full well no one was letting him near another dirt bike
after what he had just been thru.

" What do you mean dirt bike man you can't keep four wheels on the ground
much less two. You better stick with horses at least when they see you
heading for danger they just stop an throw you to the ground." Davey joked
back at his friend. The two boys laughed at each others jokes hugging each
other. "Dang wish Dale was here with us. Altho I don't think this party
could handle the three musketeers." Davey laughed

"Oh man you remember when you put that clear glue on ole lady umfress's
chair an she ripped her dress when she stood up." Jimbo chackled as he
remembered what Davey had done an no one would tell who did it but she
blamed all three boys with it but no one could prove they did it so no one
got punished.

"Dang I had almost forgot about that." Dave giggled

"Do you guys always cause that much trouble in school?" Mike asked smiling
at the antics of the boys.

"Oh sweetie you have no idea." Davey answered squeezing Mikeys hand
tight. " But don't worry we will take it easy on you, I promise." he
continued smiling at Jimbo with that devilish grin.

"I guess then i need to be prepared for what you guys will pull on me but
lewt me warm you now, PAYBACKS ARE A BITCH." Mikey stated letting the boys
know he could take it but could also dish it out. " Just like you purposely
gave Kevin your horse to ride knowing she would not let anyone but you ride
her." Mikey laughed cause he too thought it was funny seeing Kevin flying
over the fence.

"Dude, you did not let someone else try to ride the grand lady herself."
Jimbo almost busted seams in his shirt laughing so hard. " If I were you I
would be watching my back after a dirty trick like that. She could have
hurt him bad you don't need to do that." He scolded his friend tho he was
still laughing.

"Aw I knew she knew I was standing there watching so she wasn't that rough
on him just like the first time I put Dale on her. Remember we were at the
lake that day an he wanted to ride her back home she politely took him over
to the lake an dumped him off." Davey laughed remembering their friend Dale
getting up sputtering water after Lady Linda had dumped him in the cold
lake.

" Oh man that was hillarious, he almost froze his nuts off on the ride
home." Jimbo laughed remebering the scene also.

"You guys are so bad." Mike laughed.  The guys continued laughing until Jim
interupted them.

"Hey Mike, Dave, we think you guys should come thank all your guests ina
special way how about playing some music an singing for us." He said to the
guys.

"I don't have a keyboard here an my guitar is at the church." Mike came
back trying to get out of this.

"Sorry buddy but mamaw made sure your guitar somehow found it's way over
here an of course Davey's has been here." Jim let him know it wasn't
getting off the hook.

"Why do I smell a set up here." Mikey joked

"Hey babe if I gotta do it you gotta do it too." Davey laughed hugging Mike
around the waist.

Jim wheeled Jimbo over to the area where the guys had set up a small
platform for the guys to sing an play from while the boys went an retrieved
their guitars. As Jim reached the platform he stepped up an made his
annoucement. "If I can get everyones attention again we want to thank
everyone who has come out to show their support an welcome our boys
home. Davey an Michael are going to show their thanks by playing an singing
a few songs for us an I hope you all enjoy. So now i turn it over to our
guys Davey an Michael." He stated as he started clapping along with
everyone else as the boys took their places on the stools that sat there
ready for them before the microphones.

"Thank you all for coming today altho we didn't know we were going to have
to sing for our lunch." Michael joked " We really don't have anything
planned so we will just do a few an then if you have any requests we can do
them if we know them." he finished as Davey finished tuning his guitar.

"I would also like to thank everyone that came today an want to say I love
you all. Davey added tears starting to mist his eyes as he looked at all
their family an friends who were there in their support. " The first song I
would like to do is a favorite of mine an I love to sing it it is called
Fallen Leaves. Davey opened the song with a few hot licks of the guitar
strings followed by Michael doing rythym. As Davey's filled the afternoon
air everyone was smiling at one another an lovers holding hands or hugging
each other by the waist.




Falling leaves that lie scattered on the ground The birds and flowers that
were here now can't be found All his friends that he oince had are not
around They are scattered like the leaves upon the ground.

Some folks drift along through life and never thrill To the feeling that a
good deed brings until It's too late and they are ready to lie down Beneath
the leaves there scattered on the ground.

Lord let my eyes see every need of every man; Let me stop and always lend a
helping hand Then when I'm laid beneath that mossy ground There'll be more
friends around than leaves upon the ground.

To your grave there's no use taking any gold; It's no use when it's time
for hands to fold.  When you leave this world for a better home some day
The only thing you'll take is what you gave away.


Davey finished th3e last chorus with Mike doing harmony their voices
blending together in perfect harmony the people were clapping an shouting
for more. The boys did several more songs before beginning to tire out. Jim
noticed the boys were starting to try but was trying not to disappoint
their friends. So he went an whispered to Davey just to do one more an then
thank everyone.

"We are gonna do one more song for you then I am afraid we must stop. We do
want to thank you all again for what you have given us today. And I know
that someday we will be called away but we can look forward to a Reunion In
Heaven which is the title to the last song we want to leave you with."
Davey told them all as Michael started the lead guitar chords with him
following behind in an uptempo bluegrass style.





So often down here we'll have a reunion Our loved ones and friends will be
gathered around Some faces are missed. They have gone home to heaven They
will be there with Jesus 'til the trumpet shall sound

What a wonderful time we'll have up in Glory With our blessed Redeemer

No crepes on the doors in that beautiful city No sorrow or pain never more

As they finished the boys stood an bowed then stood their guitars on the
racks then went to shake everyones hands as they were leaving an thanking
them for coming. Jimbo an his parents were the last in line an Davey an
Michael both leaned down an hugged Jimbo goodbye an shook his parents
hands.  The parents both hugged both boys telling them how glad they were
both ago an at home now.

After all their guests had left an Lisa Baylor had left to go to her home
leaving just Mary an her guys as she called them alone everyone was ready
to just kick back in the living room an relax. Everyone was drinking coffee
an relaxing Davey was drinking soda. Everyone was quiet just sitting back
thinking over the days events. The silence was broken by a knock on the
door. Jim got up to answer the door. As He open the door a bolt of
lightning flew passed him an grabbed Davey.

"Davey so sorry I missed your homecoming." Dale cried as he hugged his
friend. " I wanted to come see you in the hospital but they were not
allowing anyone other than family to visit."

"It's ok bud. We haven't had a chance to see each other since I left
school. I have missed you my friend." Davey soothed his excited friend. "
You know everyone here but Gary an Michael, guys this is the part of the
three musketeers that was missing today, this is Dale. Dale this is Michael
and Gary pointing to each guy in turn. We have a lot to talk about but some
of it I think I need to talk to you in private about." Davey told him, he
knew he had to finally comeout to Dale an he wasn't sure how he was gonna
take the news an he didn't want to just spring it on him in front of
everyone here. " let's go out on the porch an sit an talk." Davey spoke
getting up from his seat. The boys left thru the kitchen, Davey grabbing
them both something to drink an they went an sat on the back porch which
over looked the yard an the pasture where the barn with the horses were.

"Ok bro what gives with all this secretive talking an all this guarding you
for the last month an while you were in the hospital." Dale spoke out,
being one who always spoke his mind. "No one would tell me why you were not
in school an no one would say why you were in the hospital an I went by
your old house an you had moved out. I finally found out thru Jimmy that
you were staying here with Duckie so out with it bro what gives." Dale
demanded sternly but quietly so not to upset his friend remembering the
last day he had seen him at school an the episode in the bathroom.

" There is a lot I need to tell you." Davey started tucking his head down
feeling tears starting to swell in his eyes an fear of losing his friend
building inside of him. " First thing I have to tell you I dont know how
you are gonna take it but it will save a lot of time. I need to get this
off my chest and I am afraid you are gonna hate me when you hear it." he
continued not looking at his friend.

Dale by now was getting scared, he had never seen his friend this upset an
worried over something. To him Davey had always been the smartest of all
three of threir group an always seemed more confident but now he seemed
well Dale didn't know what to think. He reached an put his arm around his
buddy only to have Davey pull away slightly an this reaqlly scared him.

" Hey Buddy no matter what it is we are Buds for life the three musketeers
one for all an all for one remember. Nothing can be that bad." Dale spoke
softly to his friend still trying to embrace him with Davey finally letting
his arm go around him an settling in next to his friend, not knowing they
were being watched by Michael from inside. Michael smiled at the tender
moment between friends but was still worried how Davey's friend was gonna
take what he had to say.

"Dale I have been keeping a secret for a couple years now. I realized two
years ago I was different." Davey started to explain There is only one way
to say this Dale I am gay." Dave finished as Dale gerked his arm back from
around Davey an stood up an faced him. This caused Davey to be even more
afraid an he started crying.

"This is what you have been afraid to tell me an you thought I would hate
you over, Come on dude give me a little credit, you're my best friend. You
honestly think I didn't already know. Man for someone as smart as you are
you can be so dense sometimes. Now stand up here an give me a hug an dry
those eyes." Dale grabbed Davey an pulled him to his feet an hugged him
tight to him. "All for one an one for all" He finished talking an just held
his friend tight. Dale had realized over a year ago that Davey was probably
gay but this didn't bother him he had a gay uncle who he loved
dearly. Michael watched from the kitchen window an smiled now knowing
everything was gonna be ok between the two boys.

Davey an Dale walked around the back yard an talked for well over an hour
with Davey telling Dale everything that had happened with Carl. He wanted
to surprise Dale tho with the news of Michael an also the biggest news of
all his new brother Gary. He thought he would wait until the two got back
inside so everyone could see the look on Dales face when he heard these
pieces of news.

"Lets go back in an finish talking my legs are starting to cramp." Davey
said trying to cover the real reason he wanted to get Dale back inside.

"Ok but I have to get home soon but now i know where you are we can get
together more i hope." Dale answered

"You bet we can bro." Davey answered as the two entered the house only to
find Michael staring out the window.  " Hey you were spying on me weren't
you." Davey fained disbelief "Lets go into the livingroom an finish talking
I have somemore news i want to share with Dale." Davey said putting his arm
around Michael as they walked into the livingroom.

"Well I take it your little talk went well." Gary spoke as the three boys
entered the room

"Yea we are all cool if my little buddy would quit hiding things from me."
Dale answered poking Davey in the ribs causing Davey to laugh as he was
very ticklish in his ribs.

"well now that we are all in here together there are twqo more things I
need to tell Dale but I wanted to do it here with everyone as it will make
it easier." Davey said looking at a shocked Dale. Dale was thinking what
the hell else is he gonna spring on me tonight. As they all took their seat
Dale noticed Davey say next to Mike in the big chair instead on joining him
on the loveseat. " Dale I want you to meet two people who are very dear to
me one is my brother an one is my boyfriend."

"Ok I can figure out who your boyfriend is but I know all your brothers an
they arent in the room." Dale stated looking at Mike an Davey who were now
cuddled in the chair.

"Gary is my brother Dale it is a long story which we don't have time for
tonight. Carl was not my father, Gary an I share the same father. Carl has
been out to kill me is why all the guards an all thats why we were in the
hospital he shot thru the window here an hit Michael instead of me." Davey
tried to explain.

" Ok I get you and Gary are brothers but why are you living here with
Mr. Dickworth" Dale spoke not realizing he had used the nickname that some
of the kids in school used for Jimmy. Everyone burst into laughter leaving
Dale looking around like everyone had lost their minds then it dawned on
him what he had said an he turned bright crimson red in the face. " I am
sorry Mr. Duckworth I didnt mean to say that.

"Don't sweat it I know what the kids in school call me." Jimmy said between
laughing an gasping for breath. " I guess since you are gonna be hanging
around here with Davey a lot I have something you should know but you have
to swear to keep it secret."

" Sure Mr. Duckworth you can count on me." Dale answered him

" Well the reason Davey an his mom are staying here along with Mikeis this
is mine an Gary's home. Gary an I are partners as in lovers." Jimmy
explained

"Wow," Dale exclaimed this is not what he expected. He thought of all the
girls at school an all the broken hearts there would be if they only
knew. " you don't have to worry about me Mr. Duckworth, I have a gay uncle
an he has to keep it under wraps too because of his job but he has a life
partner also." Dale told Jimmy an Gary. " I afraid tho I must be getting
home now tho I told the rents I wouldn't be gone long but had to see my
best bud for a few minutes. Mike you take care of my bud." Dale spoke to
Michael as he hugged him an his best friend good bye. Davey walked out with
his friend.

"Man you like older men or something ?" Dale joked as the two walked out
into the night.

"Yea or something." Davey grinned as he answered. "Hey you coming over
tomorrow we can ride a while?" Davey asked as they shared one lasy hug.

"Yea I will try to get over after lunch. I am just so glad you are ok Davey
I have been so worried about you. Don't ever scare me like this again. I
love you my friend never forget one for all an all for one. Dale said as he
got on his bike an rode away.
