Chapter Twenty

We joined the Captain for dinner and found him to be a very charismatic and
sharp witted person. As we dined on roast duck, the Captain regaled us with
tall tales of his grand adventures on the high seas. James was absolutely
spellbound as the Captain relived his illustrious, and no doubt embellished,
glory days. How much truth can be found in his stories is open to debate.
But it was clear that Captain Svenson knew how to work the crowd. By the
time the Baked Alaska arrived, we all felt like we had lived his great
adventures with him.

He brought up the rule about passengers and crew being off limits to
officers and staff but I refused to budge on the issue. They were there to
do a job and safety was our primary concern. They could handle their
romantic needs during their off rotation. The Captain had to agree with the
policy even though it was not the most convenient one for him or his
officers. The Captain's table phone buzzed and he answered it. He informed
his guests that he was needed on the bridge.

James and I decided to take a stroll on the pool deck before the evening
show got under way. We casually walked the whole length of the ship before
making our way down to the Paradise Theater. James and I were one of four
couples competing to win a deluxe romance package for the following evening.
Candid Couples is the gay couple's version of the Newlywed Game. One half of
each couple was seated on the stage and the other half was escorted to a
soundproof room back stage.

I was in the room behind the stage with three other gentlemen. We chatted
the time away before it was our turn to appear on stage. We were finally
escorted onto the stage and I took my seat next to James. He had a rather
confident grin on his face. "Alright gentlemen, here is the first of four
twenty five point questions. If your mate had to change one part of your
body, which part would he change?" Noah asked. The three other couples did
not match with their answers and I am frankly surprised any of them are
together as a couple given the answers they gave. I was last to answer.

"I would have to say that James would change my bellybutton." I stated. He
has told me on several occasions that he wished I had an outtie so he could
nibble at it when we made love. James flipped his card over and showed his
answer, which was 'Bellybutton'. The audience applauded and I leaned over
and kissed James. We now had the lead with twenty five points.

"Gentlemen, what animal would your mate choose to describe you when you are
making love?" Noah asked. The couple to our left had a bit of a disagreement
on this question. The one that had been off stage answered 'Bull' while his
partner had written down 'cheetah'. Cheetahs are well known for their speed,
but not for their attention to detail. I knew one cabin that would not be
seeing any action tonight. I was third to answer this time and my response
was 'tiger'.

James flipped the card over to show that he had written "Panda Bear". "Panda
Bear?" I asked. "Why a Panda Bear?"

"Because you are very gentle and loving." James responded. His reply drew an
"awwwwwwww" from the audience. Only one other couple got the question right
so we were tied with them for first place.

"Gentlemen, whom will your mate say was your biggest love before they came
into the picture?" Noah asked.

I was second to answer and I felt very comfortable that we would match on
this question. "That would be Jason." I answered. James flipped the card
over and revealed the name "Jason". I kissed him as we moved back into the
lead.

"Gentlemen, this is our final twenty five point question. Will your mate say
that you fell in love with him first, he fell in love with you first, or you
fell in love at the same time?" Noah asked.

It was my turn to answer first and I did not hesitate. "We fell in love at
the same time." I answered. James looked puzzled as he flipped his card
over. The card read "I fell in love with him first" meaning James fell in
love with me first.

"Don't you remember the question I asked you at dinner?" he asked.

"Of course I remember, but I was not sure you knew you were in love with me
then." I explained. All of the other couples got a match so it was again a
two way tie for first place.

"Gentlemen, our final question is worth seventy five points. Where will your
mate say is your favorite place the two of you ever made love?" Noah asked.

Again, everyone else failed to match and I was last to answer. The pressure
was on. "the beach." I replied. James started hoping up and down in his seat
as he flipped the card to reveal his matching answer. I hugged him and gave
him a very big kiss.

"That makes Tim and James our grand prize winners with a total of one
hundred and twenty five points. You have won our deluxe romance package
which includes a steak & eggs breakfast for two tomorrow morning, an
in-cabin full body massage for two, a chilled bottle of Dom Perignon, a tray
of white and dark chocolate covered strawberries, two dozen long stem roses
in a souvenir vase, a one hundred dollar gift certificate to 'Gems of the
Caribbean', and a souvenir picture frame to surround the photo of your
choice. The picture frame will be etched with your names and the date of
your cruise. Let's hear it for our Candid Couples!" Noah exclaimed.

After the show, we met up with Stefan, David, Allen, and Brian. We all
headed up to the Starlight Lounge. We grabbed a table next to the dance
floor and ordered our drinks. I Made a special request to David and he
rushed off to sign up for karaoke. It took a while for him to be called to
the microphone but once his name was called I asked James to dance with me.
The music started playing and I held James close to me for a slow dance.
David dedicated the song to James from Tim before he began singing.

"I'll always remember the song they were playing? The first time we danced
and I knew. As we swayed to the music and held to each other, I fell in love
with you. Could I have this dance for the rest of my life? Would you be my
partner every night? When we're together it feels so right. Could I have
this dance for the rest of my life? I'll always remember that magic moment.
When I held you close to me. As we moved together, I knew forever. You're
all I'll ever need. Could I have this dance for the rest of my life? Would
you be my partner every night? When we're together it feels so right. Could
I have this dance for the rest of my life?" David sang in his angelic voice.

We spent the remainder of the evening dancing and having a great time in the
Starlight Lounge. I looked at my watch and it was approaching midnight so
James and I started back to the owner's suite. We walked into the suite just
as the clock struck 12:00am. I turned on the stereo in the master bedroom
and dimmed the lights way down low. James crawled into bed and I followed
right behind him. I was on my back and James turned himself around into the
sixty nine position. His height was now sufficient enough that we could
accomplish a sixty nine comfortably no matter who was on top. I sucked
James' balls into my mouth one at a time as I inhaled deeply. James' scent
was particularly strong tonight and I could not get enough of his aroma. I
released his ball sack and greedily swallowed his throbbing shaft.

I pushed back on his foreskin with my tongue and bathed his glans in my
saliva. My tongue jabbed at the slit in his glans and James let out a heavy
moan as his dick leaked out his tasty pre-cum. I felt his lips encase the
head of my dick and I quivered at his touch. He began a steady bobbing up
and down on my straining erection and I matched him stroke for stroke with
my own mouth. James' moans became almost constant as if he were purring. I
felt the vibration on my dick and I was soon lost in a world of erotic
pleasure. James had been able to take my entire length into his mouth for
some time now, and he was an expert at milking my glans with his throat
muscles.

His body trashed about on top of mine as I focused my attention on holding
his shaft in my throat. James tried to bury himself in my throat further as
he cried out in pleasure. "Arrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhh" he moaned as he began
to shoot his cum straight down my throat. I pulled off of him just a bit so
that my tongue was bathed in his boy juices. I refused to allow it to go
down my throat without tasting his sweet cream. He did not let up on his
manipulation of my dick until I yelled out "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" before
flooding his mouth with my cum. My whole body stiffened as I shot load after
load into the wet inferno that encircled my shaft. I sucked every drop of
his precious honey from his softening erection and then pulled off of him.

James made sure my dick was perfectly clean as he pulled off of me and
turned himself around. We locked ourselves tightly in an embrace as we
kissed each other with unbridled passion. We lay there with our tongues
intertwined for several minutes before we both collapsed in a fog of
ecstasy. Eventually, our breathing started returning to normal and I let out
a long sigh. "You are an incredible lover, my angel." I cooed.

"Your pretty amazing yourself, my love." he whispered in my ear as we held
each other tight. A few minutes later, our bodies yielded to exhaustion and
we slipped off to dreamland.

We awoke to a knocking on our bedroom door at 9:00am. "Enter." I shouted in
the direction of the door. Stefan opened the door and two very handsome
looking young men served us breakfast in bed. The meal was very tasty and
James really enjoyed being pampered this way. When breakfast was finished,
we climbed out of bed and took care of our morning hygiene duties. We
finished in the bathroom and spent some time together on the balcony while
Stefan and David were up on the pool deck.

We watched the passengers as they were loaded into the tenders and made
their way to Jason's Haven. The Para-sailing seemed to be a big hit as it
ran non-stop the whole morning. Lunch arrived just before noon and we ate on
the balcony. James had a cheeseburger and an order of fries, while I chose
chicken fingers with onion rings. We continued watching from our balcony as
everyone was enjoying themselves on the beach. At 1:00pm the masseuse showed
up and gave us our massages. The massage was so relaxing that I stayed in my
lounge chair for well over an hour. Then James and I decided to take an
afternoon stroll on the promenade deck.

We walked around the ship and did some shopping. We made the occasional stop
in one of the ship's lounges and had a soft drink to quince our thirst. The
day slipped away from us and before we knew it, we had to get ready for
dinner. Stefan and David were waiting for us when we got back to the suite
and we all sat down to enjoy our meal. Allen and Brian dropped by after
dinner to walk with us to the theater. As show time neared, we made our way
to the theater and took our seats. Noah walked out on the stage and told
everyone how the talent show face off was going to work. David was up first
and he did an excellent job, just as he had done the other night. His twenty
four year old competition did an outstanding job as well. It was going to be
a close vote to pick a winner. The boys cleared the stage and then the house
lights were dimmed. This was it! Our mystery Headliner was about to be
revealed.

"Good evening gentlemen and welcome to The Paradise Theater aboard the
cruise ship 'Caribbean Angels'. We are fortunate to have a performer with us
this evening who has taken the entertainment industry by storm. At age
thirteen, he has reached the pinnacle of success in his singing career. He
has appeared in command performances for heads of state all across North
America and Europe. He is a four time American Music Awards winner including
being named Entertainer of the Year this past January. Please put your hands
together and give a warm welcome to Imperial Record's recording star, Kyle
Underwood!" Noah exclaimed.

The young entertainer energized the crowd for an hour before winding down
the show. All totaled, he sang thirteen songs including five of his latest
hits. It was a very electrifying performance. I barely took notice of David
leaving his seat near the end of the show. When Kyle finished his last song,
the stage went dark. The crowd was going wild and screaming "Encore!"
"Encore!" "Encore!". The spotlight was illuminated at center stage and Kyle
was sitting on a stool with David sitting right beside him.

Kyle took the microphone from the stand and started addressing the audience.
"As many of you know, I rarely accept an invitation to perform a live
concert. I am very picky about where, and for whom, I will perform in
person. Reputation, in my business, is everything and I am very careful
about the causes I appear to support. I had never heard of Paradise Cruise
Lines nor Jason's Haven when I returned the call from James Simmons. He told
me all about the island and what was accomplished there. He told me about a
man named Tim Stevens, who believed in him enough to allow him to start this
cruise line."

"I was very impressed with what James told me so I had to come and see for
myself. Two days ago, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with
James and learning all about Mr. Stevens. Sorry Tim, but James was not
playing video games all day. We had to make up a story to maintain the
element of surprise." he chuckled. Laughter rolled through the audience
before Kyle continued. "James told me about a boy named Jason and said that
not many people knew the story behind Jason's Haven, and consequently
Paradise Cruise Lines. I think it is time for that to change."

"At the age of twelve, Tim fell in love with a boy named Jason. Jason was
also twelve and on the day that they revealed their love for each other,
they made love to each other for the first, and last, time. Tim's dad
discovered the two lovers together in Tim's bedroom and later voiced his
support for the boys, and their feelings about each other. Jason would later
tell his parents of his love for Tim, which enraged them. In fact, his
father was so angry with Jason that he beat him severely. An hour later,
Jason died from his injuries and Tim's heart was crushed."

James had brought a package of tissues and handed them to me as I wept
uncontrollably. "Tim and his father were not permitted to attend Jason's
funeral which only added to Tim's pain. A week later, Tim visited his
lover's grave and said his goodbyes. Before leaving, he left a single rose
on the grave. He has repeated this visit many times over the years, and each
time, he leaves a single rose. No one knew the significance of the rose and
no one dared ask him about it. Tim and James are lovers now and Tim told
James all about Jason. Including the reason he left behind a single rose on
each visit."

James was now hugging my arm as tears streamed down his face as well. "Tim's
father had given him a tape shortly after Jason's funeral. The title song on
that cassette was intended to help Tim's shattered heart begin to heal. I
have asked David Nicholson to join me on stage tonight because Tim loves his
singing so much. As we sing this song together, listen to the words and you
will understand the significance of the rose." Kyle concluded before David
began to play his guitar.

"We would like to dedicate this song to the memory of Jason Starky. One
life, that has touched so many others." David said before the pair began to
sing. "Some say love it is a river, that drowns the tender reed. Some say
love it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed. Some say love it is a
hunger, an endless aching need. I say love it is a flower, and you it's only
seed. It's the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance. It's
the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance. It's the one who
won't be taken, who cannot seem to give. And the soul afraid of dying, that
never learns to live. When the night has been too lonely, and the road has
been too long. And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong.
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow. Lies the seed,
that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes the rose."

As the two boys ended their song, the spotlight faded and the whole theater
was dark. The applause was deafening as I reached over to hold James in a
very warm embrace. "Thank you my love." I cried out through a river of
tears. The house lights remained dark for several minutes as the applause
roared on. Kyle had walked off the stage and hugged me. I invited him back
to the suite and he said he would join us after his second show. David and
Stefan stayed for the second show but James and I retreated to our suite.

When we arrived back at the suite, I placed a quick call to have more
champagne delivered. The bottle we had won was sitting on the coffee table.
Along with a huge platter of chocolate covered strawberries and the vase
with the roses in them. James turned on the stereo and put in one of Kyle's
tapes. He had purchased it in front of the theater before the show started.
The kid really had an incredible voice. James had done another outstanding
job with the entertainment arrangements. Allen and Brian showed up a few
minutes later and we all sat around chatting until Kyle and his manager
arrived.

By 10:30pm, we officially qualified as a crowd. Brian, Allen, David, Stefan,
James, and myself sat on the large couch. Kyle and his manager took the love
seat. We popped the bubbly and Kyle proposed a toast. "To Paradise Cruise
Lines!" he exclaimed. Our glasses clinked and we all drank to the success of
our latest venture. It was a very pleasant evening and everyone seemed to
enjoy the relaxed conversation. It was after midnight when our guests
departed. Stefan and David retreated to their bedroom as James led me into
the master bedroom.

I looked on the bed and found a single rose with a red ribbon tied around
it. The rose was laying on top of a gift wrapped package. I opened the card
and it said "Thanks for making room in your heart for me. Love Always,
James". Once again the tears started flowing. I unwrapped the package and it
contained a cassette tape. James took the tape and put it in the stereo and
pressed play. Then he led me out to a lounge chair on the balcony and we
cuddled together while the tape played.

"No mountain's too high for you to climb. All you have to do is have some
climbing faith. No rivers too wide for you to make it across. All you have
to do is believe it when you pray. And then you will see, the morning will
come. And everyday will be bright as the sun. All of your fears, cast them
on me. I just wanted you to see. I'll be your cloud up in the sky. I'll be
your shoulder when you cry. I'll hear your voices when you call. I am your
Angel. And when all hope is gone, I'm here. No matter how far you are, I'm
near. It makes no difference who you are. I am your Angel. I'm your Angel."

"I saw your teardrops, and I heard you cry. All you need is time. Seek me
and you shall find. You have everything and you're still lonely. It don't
have to be this way. Let me show you a better day. And then you will see.
The morning will come. And all of your days will be bright as the sun. All
of your fears, just cast them on me. How can I make you see. I'll be your
cloud up in the sky. I'll be your shoulder when you cry. I'll hear your
voices when you call. I am your Angel. And when all hope is gone, I'm here.
No matter how far you are, I'm near. It makes no difference who you are. I
am your Angel. I'm Your Angel."

"And when it's time to face the storm. I'll be right by your side. Grace
will keep us safe and warm. I know we will survive. And when it seems as if
your end is drawing near. Don't you dare give up the fight. Just put your
trust beyond the skies. I'll be your cloud up in the sky. I'll be your
shoulder when you cry. I'll hear your voices when you call. I am your Angel.
And when all hope is gone, I'm here. No matter how far you are, I'm near. It
makes no difference who you are. I am your Angel. I am your angel."

I wrapped my arms around James and kissed him. "Jason's love is a beautiful
memory for me James. But it is just that, a memory. You are the air that I
breath now and you are the only one that holds the key to my heart. I have
not been lonely since the day I first kissed your sweet lips, and you make
my world perfect. The love that we share is much stronger than the brief one
that Jason and I shared. I will always honor his memory James. But you are
the one I am sharing my life with. Don't ever think that you are competing
against a memory my angel. You own every fiber of my being." I said with as
much passion as I could muster.

"I am not competing with Jason's memory Tim. I am glad for the time the two
of you had together. It is the very thing that brought us together. And I
know you are not lonely any more. I just wanted you to know that I will
always be here for you Tim. I love you with all my heart, and that is why I
gave you the song. You try and carry the burdens of this world on your
shoulders, and I see you bending under the weight of it all. Let me help you
carry it Tim. Let me be your angel." he replied with tears in his eyes.

"You are my angel, James. And you make my life heaven on earth." I said as I
kissed his tears away. I stood up and led James into the bedroom. We crawled
into bed and kissed each other goodnight. I spooned myself against him with
my arms holding him tight. The sound of the tide lapping against the distant
shore lulled us to sleep in perfect contentment.

The sun peaked through the balcony doors and pulled me from my slumber. I
woke my lover by nibbling on his earlobe. James rolled over and kissed me as
his eyes strained against the intrusive sunlight. After a few minutes of
cuddling in the bed, James and I crawled out to begin another day in
paradise. We grabbed a quick shower before heading out to the balcony to
relax before breakfast was served. When I stepped out onto the balcony, I
could not believe my eyes. I walked over to the railing and looked down into
the waves below us.

The water was covered with red roses. They made a trail from the ship, all
the way to the beach. There were literally thousands of them making a path
to the island. What a fitting final tribute to a wonderful boy, who gave his
life for love. At long last, the island had truly become Jason's Haven. His
sanctuary from the evil that ended his life, and nearly destroyed mine. "You
have touched the lives of so many, Jason. May you now find a true and
lasting peace, here in this place." I said softly.

"Amen" James whispered.
