This is a story of a man's relationship with his son and his son's
friends. The writing is very detailed and is a written representation of
what the author saw as he was writing the story. It will contain some
sexual scenes, but it is not totally about sex. The series of chapters are
completely fictional and are the result of the author's fertile
imagination. Any resemblance to any real person(s) is purely coincidental.
The story contains consensual sexual behavior between young adult males and
an older adult male. It depicts both unprotected sex and protected sex.
Safe sex practices are the way to go if you plan to be around for years to
come.

Chapter 41 - My Son and His Friends

I headed north on I-75 after stopping for lunch in Gainesville. As I
drove, I reflected back on the conversations and interactions with Phil's
family that I had been a part of, or had listened to while I was around
them at the hospital. Phil's Dad was the patriarch of his family, and he
was honored and respected by his children. The mere fact that he accepted
and approved of Phil and my relationship was then, accepted by the family.
Phil's Dad loved each member of his family, but it was evident that Phil
held a very special place in his Dad's heart. The whole family loved Phil
and only wanted what would make him happy. As I drove, I thought about
what I had missed by being an only child: having someone to be there with
me in difficult times, having someone to blame to Mom and Dad when I
screwed up when I was a child, having someone that knew my foundation and
background, and having someone that I could confide in without having to
explain so much. I thought about Allison and her siblings, yeah, they had
fights, disagreements, didn't speak to each other for days, but they always
knew that when they needed help their siblings would come to the rescue.
Oh well, I don't have siblings, and I have survived this far. However, it
makes me hurt for Ryan although he does seem to have brothers in Jay, Rob,
and Myles.

As I finished those thoughts, I began to reflect on the relationship that
Mr. Hearst had with his wife. They definitely loved one another, and he
and she were very close, but he was the definite head of the household. I
thought about my parents, and I didn't see the same thing. In fact, I saw
the very opposite. I thought some more and then, for some reason, I felt a
strong urge and need to call my Dad. I called and my mom answered. I
asked to speak to Dad, and she started wanting to know what was wrong, and
why did I want to talk to him, and not her? I said "Mom, I need to talk to
Dad." She reluctantly put him on the phone, but I could tell by his
answers that she was close by and listening to everything that he said. I
finally said "Dad, when you get away from the house, call me on my cell
phone." He said "Great Doug, I am looking forward to my upcoming visit and
yes, I will bring one of Mr. Vince's cakes when I come." My Dad could pick
up on things, and he did great in concealing our conversation. I drove on
toward home and in about fifteen minutes, Dad called. We talked freely
about a number of things and I finally told him about Phil's Dad. He
listened and never interrupted me. I finished my thoughts, and he said
"Doug, I am so sorry to hear about Phil's father, but son, this is that
part of life that is so hard to accept." I said "Mr. Hearst is at peace as
he gave his family instructions for his service, and he quoted scripture to
them that he said has brought him comfort." He said "Doug, this has caused
you to question everything about our family hasn't it?" I said "Yes sir."
He said "Son, I think my upcoming solo visit to your house will be a good
time for us to talk." I said "I certainly hope so Dad, I need to openly
discuss some stuff with you." We talked on for a few more minutes, and as
we were about to hang up, my Dad said "Doug, I love you." I felt the tears
welling in my eyes as I had not heard that since I was a young boy. I told
him that I loved him, and we hung up. I had to pull over as my tears were
blurring my vision.

I pulled myself together and sent Phil a text that I was thinking of him
and that I loved him. I pulled back on the interstate and finished my
drive home in about an hour and a half. I pulled into the driveway just as
Meredith was pulling in her's with the boys. They bailed out of her
Suburban and came running to me. Ryan almost flung himself to me, and the
others followed suit. I hugged Ryan tightly to me, and I did the same for
the others. Ryan said "Dad, I have really missed you." I had not thought
about it, but this is the first time that I had left Ryan. He on the other
hand, had left me, but I was always at home base or with him. It felt so
good to be hugged and appreciated. Meredith walked over, and I could see
that she had witnessed the entire welcome home episode as she had moist
eyes. She asked about Phil and his Dad. I said "Let's all go in and sit
in the family room, and I will bring everybody up to date."

We went in the house and gathered in the family room. I brought everybody
up to date and made sure that I told them that his Dad would probably not
live to the end of the month. Ryan said "Dad, I want to go to his service.
I want to be there for Phil." Every one of the boys said "Me too." I
looked at Meredith and she said "We will find a way for you guys to be
there for Phil." And then, she said "Doug, please keep me informed, and I
will let Michelle and Christina know so that you do not have to make a lot
of phone calls." I thanked her and then, I asked about what had happened
while I was away. Meredith said "I had my hands full, Ryan would not eat,
would not change clothes, he has worn the same clothes for three days, he
doesn't want to take a shower, and ......" I know that my mouth dropped
open, and I looked at Ryan. He had a surprised look on his face and then,
Meredith said "Gotcha, Doug, you knew the answer to that question before
you asked it. Everything was fine. He is just like another kid only
better behaved than Jay." Now it was Jay's turn to have that shocked look
on his face. He said "I have been working on being better behaved, and you
haven't even noticed!" Meredith and I said about the same time, "Jay, we
have noticed, and it shows that you are growing up. We really like what we
are seeing, just keep it up." Meredith said that she had to leave so that
she could finish a few projects and start dinner. I looked over at Ryan
and said "Why don't you go home with Meredith and bring your dirty clothes
home so that I can wash a load tonight? Meredith looked at me and said
"Doug, I took care of Ryan this week, all of his clothes are clean. It was
not a big deal." I walked her outside and we talked for a few minutes.
She asked me if I could watch Jay and Rob over the Memorial Day Weekend as
both sets of adults were heading out of town for the holidays. After she
left, I grabbed my bags from the Denali and brought them into the house. I
dropped my dirty clothes off in the laundry room, and carried my others to
my bedroom. I put my unused clothes away and returned to the family room.
I spent time listening to the boys talk about a variety of topics after
they returned with Ryan's clean clothes. Finally, I said "So, what are the
plans for the weekend?" Ryan said "We plan to attend the run- walk race on
Saturday morning and spend Saturday night at Myles' house so you will have
the house to yourself." I smiled and said "If you are going with me to the
race then, everybody better be here bright and early, and by early I mean
around 7 o'clock." I left the guys talking, walked into the laundry room,
and started washing my clothes. I went back to my bedroom and changed into
my workout gear. I walked outside and began my final practice session
walking, jogging, and running along the roads of our subdivision. I really
enjoyed my session, as I traveled roads that I normally don't use. I
returned home, showered, and readied my stuff for Friday at school while
dinner cooked. I finished in my office, and Ryan and I ate our supper. I
called it a night, and went to my bedroom while he watched TV in the family
room. I got in bed and called Phil. He had just arrived at his Mom's and
Dad's house. He walked back outside, and we were able to have as much of a
private conversation as possible. He brought me up to date on his dad, and
I brought him up to date on things here. He asked me about the run-walk
race and I told him that I had practiced late this afternoon. He said
"Doug, that is not what I am talking about. Who is your competitor going
to be?" I said "I have seen Landon's goods, so I have it narrowed down to
Tanner or Blake. Blake is the least athletic of the group, so I am leaning
in that direction." Phil said "So you really are going to go through with
it?" I said "Yeah, it has been an on-going thing since the early part of
the school year, and like I have come to realize, it's just being naked in
front of someone for a few minutes." We finished our call, and I went to
sleep as I was home and in my own bed.

I awoke early the next morning, did my morning routines, dressed and headed
to the kitchen. I walked down to Ryan's room and knocked. He mumbled
something, and I opened the door. He was sleeping naked face down. I
called him again, and he raised up. I said "It's time to get ready for
school, get showered, dressed and come to the kitchen." I closed the door
and headed back to the kitchen. I cooked a can of biscuits, made some
grits, fried bacon, and scrambled eggs. By the time I had finished, Ryan
was in the kitchen with me. He poured each of us a glass of orange juice.
We sat and ate our breakfast. He said "Dad, I am going to come home this
afternoon and clean the pool. I know that we added chlorine and other
chemicals during the winter, but it needs to be swept and cleaned. I think
it is time that we restart it as the weather is warming up." I agreed and
said "I will help you when I get home, but I need to stop and pick up some
chemicals. Place the plastic crates in the Denali so I can safely
transport the chlorine." Ryan did as asked on his way out the garage. We
finished and left going our separate ways.

I pulled into the parking lot, parked and headed into the office. As I
left the office going to my room, I ran into all four members of the posse.
I bid them a good morning and once again, Landon was the spokesman and
said, "Okay, it is Friday and the race is tomorrow. Which one of us are
you competing against?" I looked each one in the eye, but the one who
seemed to be the most nervous was none other than Blake. I said "Blake."
He paled and almost slumped. I think Landon had expected it to be him as
he looked really disappointed. I continued on to the office, picked up my
stuff and was welcomed back by the office staff. I walked down to my room
and Mrs. Hogglestand had left me a very complimentary note about my
students, my plans, and thanking me for calling on her. I looked over my
plans and knew exactly where I need to start as Mrs. Hogglestand had more
than adequately prepared my students while I was away.

The bell sounded, and the students began to enter the classroom. My day
was fast and furious. Every class welcomed me back, and said that although
Mrs. Hogglestand did great presenting the information, that it just wasn't
the same without me. I noted that when Blake came in, he would not make
eye contact with me. Landon, Tanner and Dakota were a little cocky. I
felt for Blake, but decided that they had brought this on themselves and
now, it was a do or die deal. I finished my day, packed my work to grade
over the weekend, headed out to the parking lot and then, to the pool
supply store for chlorine. While I was there, the owner asked if I was
going to use a pool service this year. I told him that I thought my son
was going to try to maintain it, but if that did not work out, I would
contact him. He said "Mr. Brunson, I have hired a new guy, and I think he
will be very popular with the customers. I said "I'll keep that in mind."
I purchased 6 containers of chlorine and had it loaded in the plastic
crates in the Denali.

I drove home, parked in the garage, and went into the house. Ryan was
home, but had not started anything with the pool. I went out, started the
pump, and located the brush for cleaning the sides. Ryan appeared in just
a pair of shorts, and I showed him how to do the scrubbing and sweeping. I
went in, changed into an old raggedy pair of shorts, and headed to the
garage. I grabbed two containers of chlorine and took them around the
house and onto the back patio. I made this trip several times, until I had
all the containers out of the Denali. I took the plastic crate and stored
it in the garage. While I was bringing in the chlorine, Ryan was brushing
down the sides of the pool. He was doing a great job. After he finished
brushing down the sides and the bottom, I allowed the pool to continue to
filter. I poured in two gallons of chlorine after the filter did its job.
After we finished with the pool, we went into the house and I fixed a quick
hamburger and fries for dinner. We finished our hamburger, cleaned the
kitchen and kicked back in the family room, just Ryan and me. We talked
for a while about Phil and my trip to Tampa, the upcoming summer, the visit
by my Dad, and finally the trip to the farm. As we were talking, I
received a call from Shane. He said "Answer this with only a yes or no as
I know that Ryan is probably sitting there with you. Do you have plans for
the Memorial Day Weekend?" I replied "No." He said "Good, I will be in
touch. Don't go making any plans until you and I have talked."

Around ten o'clock, I told Ryan that I was going to bed as I had an early
and energy draining day coming up. I went to my room, showered and crawled
into bed after setting the alarm on my phone for five thirty in the
morning.

I woke up the next morning, said a little prayer asking for guidance in all
that I did that day, showered, and dressed in my running shorts, shirt, and
shoes. I opted for a breakfast bar. Around six fifteen, I heard Ryan
getting his shower and then, afterwards he was dressed and eating a bowl of
cereal. As Ryan was finishing his breakfast, the front doorbell rang.
Ryan answered it, and it was the other three boys. We loaded up in the
Denali and headed to the school's stadium and track area. I parked, and we
headed out to the registration tables.

I registered for the races that I had chosen to participate in so
everything was now official. The boys began to ramble around as they found
a number of their classmates and other students there. I walked over and
talked to members of my department. They were psyched and ready to race
this morning. We looked around the area and spotted teams from math,
social studies, foreign language, and the English Departments. I looked
around and saw the posse huddled against the fence. I could tell that they
were having a major discussion by the body language and waving of hands. I
figured that they were talking strategy. I looked around and there were a
number of parents, students and even some members of the news media in
attendance.

I saw Mr. Richards talking on camera with one of the local television
stations then, they interviewed Landon and Dakota. It seemed that the boys
were not nervous during the interview. I was proud of them. I looked back
awhile later, and they were interviewing several teachers. Mr. Richards
saw me and called me over to talk about the competiveness that was going on
among the departments. Around eight o'clock Mr. Richards, using the sound
system, asked for everyone's attention, we recited the Pledge of
Allegiance, and he announced the locations for some of the race venues. It
was now time to begin, the departmental races were first, then races by the
various classes (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen), clubs, or
students vs. teachers.

I am not going to go into detail about how the races were run, or even
comment on the interactions during the race. I will tell you that the
Science Department earned FIRST place followed by the Math Department in
second. The Junior Class won the Class Race followed by the Senior Class.
The Cross Country Club race won the Club Race. Tyler Winterspoon earned
the designation as the fastest male runner while Elena Cortez won the
fastest female title. There were winners for the fastest runners in each
class as well as the fastest runners in the faculty races. I took second
place in the individual faculty race.

Finally, we were called to run the student - teacher race. The gun sounded
and we were off, I tried to pace myself, and keep Blake in my sight. We
were close to one another. I heard the posse cheering Blake on while my
students and the boys cheered for me. We made three rounds of the track
and were headed into the home stretch. Blake was ahead of me, I was about
six feet behind him. I started playing the idea of having to strip for him
in my head. I almost gave up as I thought that I could foresee the end
results. I looked up to see Blake turn his head to watch me. As he
focused on me, he took a misstep and began to stumble. He went down a few
feet away from the finish line. I stopped, checked on him, helped him up,
and we walked across the finish line together. I looked over at the
assembled members of the posse. They said "What do we do now?" "How do we
figure who won and who lost?" Blake said "None of you were in the race, I
was, I fell, and Mr. Brunson could have passed me and won the race, but he
stopped to help me. We are not going to go through with the bet because,
we both came across the line at the same time, and I just don't want to do
it anymore." I could tell that Landon was more than disappointed as he
really pushed Blake to rethink his decision. Blake stood firm with his
decision. I almost decided to go through with it as he was ahead of me,
but then, I thought this was the answer to my prayer. I gathered up the
boys and we headed home. I showered, dressed in a pair of shorts, and
called Phil.

Phil answered and said "Tell me you won!" I gave him the results and he
said "Tell me about the race with the posse. Who gets or got to see who?"
I told him how things went and he was really relieved. He said "Doug, I
have been so worried, but I think that was the best way for it to end. It
says a lot about Blake. I would like to meet that young man one day." He
brought me up on his Dad's condition. He told me that there had been some
gradual deterioration since I had left and that the doctors had decided to
try a stronger trial drug. I listened and then, I gave him a message to
give to his Dad. I told him that we had cleaned the pool and started it
up. I said "I imagine that the boys will try it out later this afternoon,
and if they don't, I will" He said "I wish I could be there to experience
that with you." We hung up and I lay across my bed and fell asleep until I
was awakened by Ryan later in the afternoon.

Ryan wanted to know if the pool was ready to be used. I told him that I
thought so. He said that the boys would be down in a few minutes, but in
the meantime, he was going to put on his swimsuit. I heard Myles and Rob
when they entered the house then, I heard Ryan say that he needed to go
change. In a few minutes, he was in my room along with Rob and Myles. He
was fit to be tied as his swimsuits no longer fit him. I said "Ryan, we
will have to go buy you some later, but right now, I don't want to go
anywhere." He said "What do I do?" I looked at him and said "Ryan, you
can always wear a pair of boxers, briefs, boxer briefs, or nothing at all."
He looked at me like I was crazy. I said "Ryan, we have all seen your
goods, make a decision and we will buy swimsuits later tonight." He turned
and left my room. I heard the front doorbell ring again and then, I heard
Jay's voice. I heard some discussion and then, things got quiet.

I continued to lay across the bed and fell asleep again this time for about
another hour. Finally, I got up and walked to the family room. I looked
out at the pool and all four of them were naked. I walked to the glass
doors, opened them and said "Ryan, I see you made a decision." He said
"Nope, Jay did, and I followed along." I shook my head, closed the door,
walked to the kitchen and began to make some hamburger patties for the
grill. I sliced an onion, a tomato, tore some lettuce and put the
condiments on the counter. I placed some fries in the oven and wrapped the
buns in aluminum foil. I walked out and lit the grill. After it had
heated up and the fries were approaching their finish time, I started
cooking the patties after placing the buns in the oven. I had a few things
going so, I needed some assistance. I called Ryan out and directed him how
to finish up the burgers while I returned to the kitchen.

Ryan finished the burgers and brought them to the island. He called the
others out of the water; they toweled off, and walked into the kitchen
naked. Jay pulled the glasses down, filled them with ice and began to pour
all of us a glass of tea. I looked over at him and I was impressed with
how he had filled out. His dick was getting thicker, and he was half-hard.
He had nice sized balls that were tight against his body as the air
conditioner had the room cool and his pubes had spread across his pubic
area and were trimmed close. I sat down with them, and we ate our burgers
while they talked and rehashed the Run-Walk Race. They were proud of my
performance, but they did not know about the bet. We finished eating, and
Ryan and Myles began to clean the kitchen. I stood back and watched them
work also noting how well they had filled out. I looked at Myles and
compared him to Ryan. There were a lot of similarities and there were some
major differences. They have nice sized dicks for their bodies with medium
sized balls and a dark forest of black pubes which had filled in across
their pubic area, and they had some hair on their balls. I started to say
something about a trim, but I caught myself and stifled that comment. Rob
walked into the family room, and I looked at him. He was not a shower as
he was rather compact and thick, but I did see him hard in Savannah and
remembered that he had a respectable length. He had a nice set of balls
and they had some very short hair on them. His pubes were short as well,
and very blond. I could not believe how much they had changed over the
years.

I walked into the family room and sat down. They looked over at me and
wanted me to join them in the pool. I told them that I really didn't want
to get in yet, as I felt that the water was still too cool for me. Jay got
up and suddenly I got this strange feeling that I was going in the pool
whether I wanted to, or not. Lucky for me, he only wanted to dry his hair
with another towel. As they sat around the family room there was some
horse play as boys will be boys. Rob and Jay were tussling around, and Rob
asked Jay to stop. Jay wouldn't so; Rob thumped Jay's balls with a hard
thump. Jay recoiled, bent over, and was almost in tears. He swore at Rob
and promised to even the score. I said "Jay, you were asked to stop and
you didn't, you deserved something, but Rob, I don't agree with hitting
below the belt." Rob got the message, but he did not apologize to Jay. In
about fifteen minutes, they returned to the pool and began a game of keep
away. I went out, sat in one the chairs, and watched the action. Ryan and
Myles acknowledged my presence by splashing me with water. I looked at the
two of them walked to the edge of the pool, jumped up and basically
cannonballed the pool. They were shocked to see me do that, but I decided
that tonight I just needed to be a big kid. I spent another hour with them
in the pool before I decided to get out and towel off. I shuttled the boys
out of the pool, had them shower, and dress for the night.

As I was pushing everyone to get showered and dressed, Ryan reminded me
that we did not go and shop for swimsuits. I said "Ryan, I completely
forgot with everything that was going on and frankly, you guys seemed to
have more fun in the pool than you would have had shopping." He smiled and
said "You're right. We can go tomorrow." I went to my room, showered and
dressed in another pair of shorts. I returned to the family room just as
the boys were getting ready to leave to go spend the night at Myles' house.
I encouraged everyone to be on their best behavior before they left. After
they closed the front door, I stretched out on the sofa in the family room.
As I lay there, I tried to watch a movie, but the house was too quiet.

Around eight thirty, my phone rang. It was Shane. He asked if I was
alone, and I said "Yes." "Good" he said, "I just wanted you to know that
Jared, Matt and me will be staying next door during the Memorial Day
Weekend, so plan on having some fun." I said "Shane, I don't know if I can
do much as I am on standby should anything happen with Phil's Dad, and I
don't really want to cheat on Phil." He said "Pops, we are looking at
other things, tell Phil that we are thinking of him, and I want you to call
me when his Dad passes." I told him that I would and tried to get him to
give me more details about the upcoming weekend, but he said "I will be
more detailed when we have all things in place, until then, relax, and
expect an exciting weekend."

END of Chapter 41 - My Son and His Friends

Thanks for reading Chapter 41. I decided to do a short chapter so that I
could send it in to be posted by Friday night. So what do you think Shane
has in store for the Memorial Day Weekend? When will Doug's Dad arrive and
more importantly, how will his visit go?

I know some of you are totally disappointed that the posse did not get what
they wanted, but things happen for the best. Believe me; it just happened
as I was writing. I did not have that planned. I thought Doug was going
to go through with it as it seemed that he had accepted that as part of the
bet.

I know some of you thought Chapter 40 was too emotional. It was an
emotional chapter to write and to read, but it all adds to the story and it
will be tied together in upcoming chapters.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and are able to enjoy some time with
your family, friends or even when possible by yourself. Time is precious
and frankly, I don't think we have enough.

Jay
