Chapter 51 - My Son and His Friends

Friday morning arrived, and I lay in bed listening to the quiet of the
house, the quail in the surrounding fields, and Phil's breathing. I
honestly believe that I could live the rest of my life in a place like
this. Nature is so perfect, everyday is different, nothing remains the
same, yet it is somewhat familiar. This trip to the lake has been really
special, and to think, I was dreading it for a while. Matt has slightly
eased off with his hints and pushiness about the two of us having some kind
of sex. I have participated with the others whenever they were either
swimming or sitting outside naked. Matt did make me uncomfortable a few
times with his staring, and a couple of his actions, but I feel secure in
my relationship with Phil, so I don't think I will succumb. Well, I say "I
don't think," but Matt is one hot looking guy, and he makes it clear to me
that he wants me, "How can I deny him that when he has been good to me and
the boys?" Wait, wait, wait.... I am saying one thing and then, saying
something else, I love Phil with all of my heart and soul and he makes me
complete, something that I did not feel with Matt up here last year.

As I lay there tossing these thoughts around in my head, I didn't realize
that Phil had awakened until I felt his hand on my chest. I jumped, and he
laughed. "What were you thinking?" he asked. I said "I was just thinking
about how peaceful things are here, and how much I really have enjoyed this
getaway." He then asked "Are you sure there were not some thoughts about
Matt?" I felt my face warm up and he said "Doug, I see how the two of you
look at one another, but I love you and I don't think I am up to sharing."
I looked over at him and said "Phil, I definitely don't want us to start
going outside of our relationship as there is too much that can happen. I
am satisfied with us, and I think I've given Matt enough of a view that he
has some pictures to jack off to over the next few months." Phil chuckled
and said "Well, I know that I have a number of pictures stored in my mind.
I really enjoy seeing Justin naked; he is hung and physically fit."

We lay there for a few more minutes talking about what we would like to do
today when I remembered last night. I said "Phil, was it my imagination,
or was there someone at our door when we were intimate last night?" He lay
there thinking and finally he said "I want to say I hope not, but with
Matt, I can't rule that out. I am sure that if it was him that he will act
in some way to let you know before we leave for home." I looked over at
Phil and pulled him over on top of me. He said "Doug, we don't have time
for anything right now, but tomorrow night when we get home, we are going
to bed early, and I am not going to rule anything out." I said "Phil, I
don't want to go home, I really needed this time away and when we get home,
I will have to start planning to go back to work along with getting the
boys to the doctor for their physicals." He said "Let's enjoy this day by
hiking, swimming, and maybe some time on the tractor." I got up, and said
"I am going to take my shower, and you are welcome to help me save water."
Phil got out of bed and joined me in the shower, and you know, we spent
some time enjoying ourselves under the shower spray.

We dressed and headed to the living room. As we walked down the hallway, I
noticed that it had been swept and mopped. I was stunned that everybody
was assembled in the living room, and they were talking in low voices when
we entered, but everyone became silent and starred in our direction when we
entered the room. I felt as if I had walked in on some major secret
governmental operation. Mikel said "Doug, we have decided that you and I
will fix breakfast this morning, and then, everybody will be free to do
what they want until lunch. I am going to send Matt to town mid-morning to
do some shopping for lunch, and we will have hamburgers, hot dogs, French
fries, and moon pies for lunch. I realize that today is our last full day
here to do stuff, so the afternoon will be free for everyone to do
something of their choosing, but tonight, we will grill the steaks and make
it a night to remember."

I turned to Phil and said "I think I have been given my marching orders, so
I better get in the kitchen. You need to listen to the others' plans and
decide what you want to do." I walked into the kitchen and began to take
the eggs, milk, bacon, hash-browns, and sausage links out of the
refrigerator/freezer. Mikel joined me and he said "I am going to make
homemade biscuits this morning", so he walked over to the pantry and pulled
out the flour and shortening. He poured the flour in a large bowl, added
the shortening and began to blend the two. He added some milk when he had
achieved the blended look of the flour and shortening that he wanted. He
mixed the ingredients together until he had a large ball of dough. He
began to tear off portions of the dough, roll them into smaller balls,
placed them on the skillet, flattened them, and then, placed the skillet in
the oven to cook. In the meantime, I whipped up the eggs, fried the bacon,
made a quick hash brown casserole and was ready to cook the link sausages
in the oven when the casserole and biscuits were finished. In a few
minutes, Mikel and I had the smells of breakfast wafting through the house.
He said "Doug, I think the only thing that is missing this morning is some
good ol' grape or plum jelly and cinnamon rolls. I believe that I have
some homemade jelly in the pantry, and if my memory serves me correct, I
bought some frozen cinnamon rolls and stored them in the freezer in the
cook shed. I will go look for those while you cook the grits and bring the
other stuff to a finish. He located the jellies and then, he was out the
door and headed to the cook shed. He returned with three packs of frozen
cinnamon rolls. He took them out of their packages, tented some aluminum
foil over them and placed them in the oven after I removed the link
sausages. We began to place the finished dishes on the counter, and he
called the gang to come fix their plates. Mikel offered a blessing for the
food and a prayer that we would have a safe and enjoyable day. When he
finished everyone said "Amen." As we were placing the breakfast foods on
our plastic plates, the scent of cinnamon rolls permeated the cabin, and we
were all salivating for a warm gooey cinnamon roll. Mikel and I ate our
breakfast in the kitchen so that we could watch over the food line. He
took the cinnamon rolls out when their cooking time had finished, and they
looked perfect. They tasted even better than they looked. Everyone
complemented Mikel and me on the breakfast.

Jared, Kevin, and Shane took over the kitchen and soon they had it cleaned
and the trash ready to be hauled away. Matt asked me if Ryan could go with
him to town to pick up the stuff that his Dad wanted. I told him that I
didn't have a problem with that and then, I did that parent thing, I called
Ryan over and talked to him about his behavior when he was in town with
Matt. I walked over to Phil and asked him what were we going to do this
morning? He said "I think we should stay here and enjoy the water by
swimming, diving, paddle boarding or maybe even skiing." I agreed with
three of his choices, but knew that if pushed, I would have to ski once
again. Everybody began to make their way out of the cabin and down to the
dock. Mikel asked Phil to join him out at the tractor shed for a few
minutes, and I walked on down to the dock. Phil joined me in about ten
minutes and said "Doug, we are going to take the tractor this afternoon
after lunch and explore the other side of the lake." I looked at him, and
I could tell that he had more on his mind than riding the tractor. I said
"I know nothing about operating a tractor" and he said "But you forget that
I make part of my living that way, so fear not Dougie, Phil has you
covered." I had to laugh, as he was so corny.

Matt and Ryan left for town around ten o'clock to do the lunch shopping
after Mikel and Matt walked out to the cook shed. Ryan was excited that he
was allowed to go alone with Matt to do the shopping as Matt was his
current idol. I felt safe with Ryan riding with Matt as I had observed
Matt driving when he did not know that I was around. Phil and I continued
to enjoy the water activities while Justin, Colt, Rob, Myles, and Jay tried
their best to improve their paddle boarding skills. Jared and Shane were
off tending to something with Mikel and Kevin. It seemed as though
everyone had something to do and things were running smoothly.

Matt and Ryan returned with several bags of groceries. Ryan carried a
couple of bags out to the cook shed while Matt took the remaining bags into
the kitchen. Ryan handed the bags to Mikel who began to heat the grill,
the large oven, and one of the deep fat fryers. I walked out to see if I
could help, but Mikel told me that I had done all of the work before he
arrived and it was now his time to do the cooking. I could tell it would
be useless to argue, so I went back to the water and enjoyed time with
Phil, Ryan, Myles, Jay, and Rob. Justin and Colt disappeared from the dock
area, and I don't know where they went, but later, I saw them in the cook
shed with Mikel helping to grill the hamburgers and hot dogs. Matt decided
to fry some onion rings so Mikel made the batter while Matt sliced the
onions and dipped them in the batter. After he fried the onion rings, he
began to fry the French fries. Colt called all of us to the cook shed and
we fixed our hamburger and/or hot dogs, grabbed a few onion rings and/or
fries, a soft drink, and a moon pie. Most of us sat on the front porch and
ate our lunch. The boys decided to go to the boat shed and eat their lunch
there where they could also feed the fish as they ate. Justin and Colt
took over dealing with the trash while Matt and Mikel cleaned the cook
shed. Mikel gathered everyone after lunch and took a quick survey of what
everyone had planned for the remaining part of the afternoon so that we
would all know where each other was. Phil opted to take the tractor and
explore with me. I noticed that Matt approached Phil and talked to him
about something. I decided to stay out of that conversation. Phil came
back to me and asked me to grab one of the small coolers out of the cook
shed and put some ice and a couple of soft drinks in it while he grabbed
some stuff out of the cabin. In a few minutes, Phil returned with a small
canvas bag. I asked him what was in the bag, and he said "You will find
out later. Come on, we are wasting daylight." He got on the tractor,
cranked it up, and backed it out of the shed. I got on the back and rode
the tow bar. We started our journey into the Southwest part of the
property.

This section of the property had old rutted roads, but Phil chose to go
exploring, so he turned into the wooded area and began to ride between the
larger trees and over some of the smaller shrubs and bushes. I hung on for
dear life because there were some low overhanging limbs, and I didn't want
to get hit by one of them. I turned around to look where we had been, and
saw that we were leaving a path of bent trees and bushes. Phil continued
through the wooded area until we came onto a clearing. It looked like it
had been someone's lawn, but at some time, it had to have been a pasture.
It looked well maintained, and I started looking for a way into the area.
I glanced back to the area where I thought the lake might be, and I saw
what looked like a possible roadway into this area. Phil pulled under one
of the large oaks, shut the tractor off, got off the tractor, and told me
to join him. He opened the canvas bag and took out a blanket, spread it on
the ground, and we sat down. Phil leaned back on his elbows and looked
around. He said "Doug, this is a beautiful area and I have enjoyed getting
to see it this summer. I have really started to think like you." I turned
and looked at him and said "How's that?" He said "I have really enjoyed
wandering around naked out here in the wild." I chuckled, and said "So why
are you still wearing shorts?" No sooner had I said that than, he whipped
them off and slung them at me. He then, pulled his shirt off, and he was
naked. I laughed and joined him. We lay back and just watched the birds
flying by and listened to those chirping in the woods. We didn't do
anything sexual as this was a time to enjoy nature in the most natural
way. After a while, we turned over on our stomachs and continued to talk
about our time at the lake and drifted to thinking and talking about things
that awaited us at home. Phil turned and lay on his right side so I turned
and lay on my left side so that we were facing one another. He leaned over
and kissed me while letting his left hand run through my chest hair. I
enjoy him combing through my chest hair, but I stopped him before he got
something started. I moved so that I was sitting up and he joined me. He
moved and stood up, I did the same. We decided to walk around the clearing
and look into the woods. As we approached one area, we could hear flowing
water. Phil looked at me and said "Doug, I think we should explore," so we
did. In a few minutes, we found the small stream. We followed the stream
for a while and found a series of small waterfalls, all ending in a small
pond which then, had an overflow stream which probably led to the lake. We
dropped leaves into the stream and held several leaf races. This brought
back a lot of childhood memories for me. As we placed the leaves in the
water, we had to stoop and I had to chuckle at the sight in front of me.
Phil was bent down and his balls were hanging rather low. His bag began to
swing as he moved, and I could only imagine what I looked like in that
condition.

We headed back to the blanket, grabbed our clothes, dressed, got on the
tractor, and headed back to the cabin. As we rode back through the woods,
we noticed that many of the large pine trees had been chipped and that
there were tins at the base of each cut. I remembered my grandfather
talking about turpentining. Men would go to the woods, chip a section from
the trunk of the tree, attach a cup at the base of the cut, allow the tree
to "bleed", and then, the men would go out and collect the sap. They would
take the sap to a still where it would be processed into resin and
turpentine. As we made our way through the woods, Phil began to name some
of the types of trees that we encountered. He pointed out: black cherries,
American hollies, persimmons, longleaf pines, sweet-gums, Southern
magnolias, dogwoods and hickory trees. We continued on through the woods
until we reached the rutted road that runs around the lake. We turned
right and followed it back to the cabin.

As we came to where I could see the area around the cabin, I noticed that
Matt's truck and Shane's jeep were not parked where they had been before we
left. Phil drove the tractor toward the tractor shed, and I noticed that
there were Mylar balloons and posters around the dock. I looked in the
direction of the cook shed, and there was a HAPPY 36th BIRTHDAY POPS/DOUG!
I punched Phil and asked "Were you in on this?" He laughed and said "Big
time!, and I have enjoyed being a part of it." I said "I had wanted to
keep this quiet because I don't enjoy being the center of attention." Phil
said "Well, you can want that, but this group has a mind of its own, so you
might as well smile and make the most of it." We got off the tractor and
began to walk to the cook shed. As we were approaching the cook shed, the
boys ran up and yelled "Surprise Pops! Happy Birthday" I hugged and
thanked each one. I walked into the cook shed and Mikel, Matt, Colt, and
Kevin were tending the grill area. Mikel was doing grilled cooked
vegetables, while Kevin turned and slightly pressed the potatoes. Matt and
Colt were tending to the seasoning and turning of the steaks. It was
evident that they had a process going. They all looked my way and wished
me a Happy Birthday. I looked around and wondered where Shane, Justin and
Jared were. I started to ask that question when I heard the front door of
the cabin slam. I walked back outside to see Jared and Shane leaving the
cabin. I started toward the cabin, but Phil and the boys took me to the
dock. As I walked closer to the dock, I noticed that not only did it have
Mylar balloons and posters, but it had colorful candles placed at intervals
on the dock and a large torch planted in the water about fifteen feet from
the end of the dock.

We were at the dock for only a few minutes and then, Matt rang the dinner
bell. Matt, Mikel, and Colt brought the hot foods to the serving table,
while Shane and Jared brought the salad and salad dressings. Matt called
everyone together and made a little speech about me, and wished me the
Happiest of Birthdays and everyone cheered when he finished. Jared yelled
"It's his birthday, but let's eat!" There were cheers of agreement from
the others. As the guest of honor, I was allowed to go to the head of the
line. They had put together a great buffet, steaks, baked potatoes, summer
grilled vegetables, yeast rolls, and a fresh salad. I made my choices,
grabbed me a cup of tea and headed to one of the outside tables. Phil and
the boys joined me and then, everybody began to eat. I had to compliment
Mikel on the steaks, they were perfectly seasoned and tender. He said "To
be truthful, I bought the steaks, but Matt and Colt worked on seasoning
them." The potatoes were cooked in aluminum foil and had been squeezed
just enough to have them mushy on the inside, just the way I like them. I
added butter and sour cream to my potato. I noted that the potatoes were
prepared just like I cook them with a salted outer peel. As we all were
eating, it became very quiet for a while and then, as everyone began to
finish their meal, they began to talk and laugh. We finished eating, and I
was going to help with clean-up, but was not allowed to help. I was told
to sit still as this part of the meal was finished, but there was more to
come.

In a few minutes, we all walked down to the dock and everyone lost their
shorts or swimsuits and enjoyed some time in the water. Shane lit the
torch that was in the water. There was a lot of laughter and water
splashing as the group split into three groups: the adults, the guys and
the boys. I glanced around, and I was able to account for everyone. This
was one of those moments wherein you realize just how close everyone is in
the group. After a while, Shane and Justin waded out and headed up to the
cabin. Shortly thereafter, one of them rang the dinner bell, and we all
walked up to the house. As we entered the front porch, we found that
several towels had been placed on the porch railing for us to use to dry
ourselves before entering the cabin. As I walked into the cabin, it was
decorated with handmade posters and the banner from the cook shed had been
moved inside. I looked at the counter, and on it there was a large sheet
cake with butter-cream frosting with some interesting artwork. I had to
laugh as there was one of a guy skiing, one of a guy riding a tractor, and
three large yellow roses with six buds in butter-cream frosting. Shane and
Justin were in the kitchen, and were prepared to scoop ice cream onto our
dish. I looked at Matt and asked "So where did this cake come from?" He
smiled and said "All in due time Pops, but you see, we have learned how to
throw a party even though we didn't have your cake woman to work with us."
I used my spoon to cut into the cake and ice cream. It was delicious with
just the right amount of icing on the cake. It was evident to me that
everyone had made an effort to provide me with a memorable birthday. As
the cake disappeared and the dishes were put in the trash can, gifts began
to arrive around me. I was stunned at how they had accomplished all of
this without me knowing or suspecting that something was afoot. I opened
the presents and there were some nice gifts. Shane, Jay, and Justin gave
me three pastel Polo shirts, Rob and Colt gave me a new grill set, Jared
and Kevin gave me a set of Eternity cologne and after shave, not to be
outdone, Mikel and Matt gave me an aerial shot of the lake, cabin and
surrounding land. Just as I set the framed photo behind me, Ryan, Myles
and Phil gave me a narrow wrapped box. I opened it and there were four
tickets to Six Flags over Georgia. Phil leaned down and said "You will get
your other gift later." I know I turned red and several of those watching
began to laugh. I looked around the room and started to stand, but I was
told to remain seated. Everyone stepped back from me and opened a straight
view to a framed photograph on a decorated table in the living room. Myles
and Ryan brought it over so that I could see it. It was a photograph of
everyone on the dock and they were all naked. Colt said "Doug, this was
Ryan's idea, and I just hope that you will never let Christine see it.
Justin spoke up and said "That also goes for Meredith." I looked at the
picture, and I thought that it was a great shot and the details were very
evident. I stood up this time and began a short "thank you" speech. My
voice broke several times as I thanked each and everyone for their gifts,
the food, the party decorations, and the camaraderie. I thanked Matt and
Mikel for hosting us at the lake, and I looked over at Phil and said "I
can't believe that you were involved in this." As I finished, Justin
brought me a garbage bag, and I began to put the discarded wrapping paper
in it. Phil and Matt gathered the gifts and took them to my bedroom.
Justin said "This is our last night here, so let's have a night swim.
Everyone head to the dock!" There was a mass exodus and suddenly the cabin
was quiet. Phil looked over and said "We need to join them for a swim."

We walked down to the dock and joined the rest of the group in the water.
We spent time playing and talking while the boys devised several races
which would involve everyone. It was evident that this group had really
enjoyed their time at the lake and that they truly enjoyed being with each
other. After being in the water for a while, Mikel sent Jay, Rob, and Ryan
to the cabin for towels. They returned and placed them in one of the
lounge chairs on the end of the dock. We began to wade out of the water,
climbed the steps to the deck and dried off. Jared announced that we
should leave the towels on the dock and they would be picked up and washed
later tonight. So that is what everybody did. We began to walk back to
the cabin naked. We stopped about halfway up from the dock, turned and
looked at the view of the lake with the moon's glow on it. I said "This is
a view that I love." I had no sooner got those words out of my mouth and
then Matt grabbed my cock and said "And this is what I enjoy seeing!"
Without thinking I grabbed his, and in a few minutes everyone was grabbing
everyone's junk. I looked up once and Kevin was involved in this grab cock
and ball game. I will have to admit that I took advantage of this
opportunity to grab and feel Justin's cock and balls. I was intrigued by
the golden colored hair on his balls. His hair did not appear like most of
ours, it lay flat against his balls giving off a soft golden glow, but I
can tell you that his cock is thick and heavy while his balls are about the
size of large pecans. I watched the boys get a feel of each other and the
older men, but the most hit upon was Matt. Because Matt was getting hit
upon, his cock was rigid and standing straight up. I laughed and enjoyed
watching the group and the view for a few minutes. We all stopped and
looked around. There were a number of hard-ons which gave Jay the idea
that we should measure everybody's cock and see who was the biggest in each
group. He turned to Matt and asked if there was a ruler in the cabin.
Matt told him to check one of the drawers in the utility room. Jay
returned in a short amount of time with a twelve inch ruler. It was
decided that Myles and Ryan would do the measuring while Jay would record
the results. There was some mumbling from the assembled group, and then, I
heard "Well, if I am going to be measured, then I am going to be the best
that I can be. In a few minutes, I heard the fisting of cocks and the
sounds of satisfaction. Jay called everyone to order, and the boys began
to measure the members of each group. The winners were Jay, Matt, and
Justin. I congratulated each one of the winners and as the excitement
began to settle down and most everyone headed inside the cabin, Mikel asked
me to take a walk with him.

We headed to the cook shed, and he said, as we walked that way, "Doug, you
know that I am a medical doctor and that my son is studying to become a
doctor as well, right?" I told him that I did and that I felt that Matt
would make a wonderful doctor as he was attentive, smart, and had a good
heart. He said, "Matt told me that everybody has been concerned about
Myles, so I took it upon myself this afternoon to observe him both in and
out of the water. He and I sat on the dock, and I noticed a knot on his
left leg. I asked him about it, and he told me that it was a bug bite, but
Doug, it is not a bug bite. I am not sure what it is, but it needs to be
checked out and soon." I said "Mikel, thanks for checking on Myles, I
alerted his mom regarding some of our concerns and she too, had some of the
same thoughts. She is a nurse at the hospital and is making an appointment
for both Myles and Ryan to have their physicals next week. He said "Doug,
make sure that you stress to her the need for a comprehensive series of
blood tests." I said "Mikel, what are you not telling me?" He said "Doug,
I can't be certain without more of a comprehensive examination and a study
of the blood work, but his symptoms have me concerned." I looked at Mikel
and said "I almost wish that we had not had this conversation, but I will
take your concern and make sure that this issue is dealt with promptly. I
will call and talk to you as soon as we have seen the doctor." We finished
our conversation and walked back to the cabin. As we approached the front
porch, Phil walked up behind me and put his arm around my waist. He said
"Doug, we have a busy day tomorrow, and it is time for us to head to our
room." We walked to our room and sat on the bed. Shane followed us to our
room and said "Don't make me have to call you guys down like I did last
night!" I looked at him, shook my head and said "So that was you, huh?"
He said "Yes, but it is not what you think. I got tired of the sand on the
hallway floor and I swiffered. I got a little carried away and the mop hit
your door a couple of times, I just hope that I didn't disturb you." He
smiled as he said that last part and then, he headed to his room.

Phil and I turned and lay across the bed. He asked "Have you had a good
birthday?" I responded "I can honestly say that I have. I was definitely
surprised with the party and then, the nice gifts." Phil said "I think
they really love you, and I know, I do. This has been a great get-away and
everybody seems so rested. I can really see why you look forward to coming
up here." I smiled and said "I've only been twice." Phil smiled and
responded "I've only been once, and I am hooked." I lay there for a few
more minutes and then, I said "Can you believe Matt's nerve awhile ago?"
Phil laughed and said "You should have seen your face. I don't think I
have ever seen you react so fast, but you grabbed his cock with lightening
speed." I shook my head and said "I wish I had not done that, but it was
just instinct that took over." Phil laughed and said "It looked to me like
everyone enjoyed it, I know I did. I grabbed Matt, and he is impressive.
I think I got some of his pre on me, but I licked it off and it was tasty.
If I did not have you, I can say with all honesty that I would be after him
like a bull in heat." We lay there and talked for a few more minutes about
the trip home, and as we talked, Phil asked me to help him with his work
next week. I reminded him that I would have to see what Michelle had been
able to accomplish with the appointments for the physicals. He said that
he had forgot that, but he definitely agreed that those needed to be done
as fast as possible. He also noted that Myles was not as tired lately as
he had been at home, but I told him that he had not really participated as
much as he usually does. Phil rolled off the bed and stood up. I did the
same. We pulled the sheets and blanket down. Phil turned off the light in
the room. We lay down and pulled the sheet and blanket up. As we lay
there, we decided after a while to hold off on anything physical until we
were home as we were tired and had a busy day tomorrow. In a few minutes
our tired bodies called it a night and we fell asleep.

Phil woke up before me the next morning. He let me sleep while he showered
and dressed, then, he joined Mikel in the kitchen. Mikel helped Phil
prepare a breakfast casserole while he made a batch of breakfast biscuits,
grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, link sausage, and cinnamon rolls. I joined
them in the kitchen after my morning shower. I could not believe
everything that Mikel was cooking, but he was doing what I would have been
doing and that was to cook everything that we had not used and did not want
to store or take home. As the breakfast smells drifted through the cabin
the others began to wake up and head to the bathroom. After a while,
everyone had visited the bathroom and was now standing around waiting for
the food to be placed on the counter. Ryan pulled the orange juice out of
the refrigerator and placed it along with several 2 liters of soft drinks
and the plastic cups on the counter. Mikel placed the bakers of biscuits
and cinnamon rolls on the counter along with the other dishes and we all
began to fill our plates. Mikel added one statement "There will not be any
leftovers because if there is, I will personally place stuff on your plate,
so eat up!" We all laughed and sat around the house eating our
breakfast. After everyone had pretty much finished their breakfast, I stood
up and said "I know that I said a few words of thanks last night, but after
thinking on it overnight, I would really like to take a moment and say how
much your surprise birthday party meant to me yesterday. I had made every
effort to hide that fact that my birthday would occur during the trip, but
someone let the proverbial cat out of the bag." Everyone pointed at Ryan.
He tried to deny it, but finally gave up. I continued "I cannot believe
how you pulled so much off in so little time and the gifts were so
thoughtful and meaningful. I will treasure the memories of yesterday for a
lifetime. I do, however want to know how some of this was put together."
Ryan said "Well, Dad I was taught by a wise 36 year old man to never put
things off and to always plan ahead, so we began to work on your gifts
about a month ago. Most everybody in town had theirs bought, wrapped and
stored in my room. I told Phil where they were, and he brought them with
him when he came with Mr. Bennett." Mikel said "You know about the steaks,
but I sent Matt to town for the potatoes, the makings for the salad and a
few other things, but Matt decided to make contact with our waiter the
other night and he ordered the cake. Matt picked it up this afternoon
along with the yeast rolls from a lady in town. Shane and Jared had the
banner made and also worked with the Mylar balloons. The boys made the
posters and placed the candles on the dock. Everybody else pitched in and
helped pull this off as soon as Phil took you to the woods."

I said "I can only say that you guys really pulled this one off, and I
really do appreciate it." Shane said "And to think that Matt finally got
his reward yesterday afternoon." Jared cracked up and said "Amen!" I looked
at Shane and said "Well, I think Matt got a lot started, and I don't
remember too many complaining about it." Everybody started laughing and
clapping.

"Oh yeah, I want to know how my favorite pair of boxer briefs appeared on
this trip." Everybody sat around and didn't say a word, because it
appeared that most did not know about this episode. Finally, I saw a look
pass between Phil and Ryan. I said "Okay you two, spill it." Ryan said
"Phil asked me to bring them and put them in the wash." I looked over at
Phil and said "So how did all of this start?" He said "Doug, I took them
when we were in Atlanta just so you could think and ponder on one of your
fantasies. I found them while you were in the shower, and put them on
before you came out and started looking for them. It was funny watching
you get so worked up because they were missing. I got home, washed them,
and hid them until a few weeks ago. After I decided to come on this trip,
I knew that this would be the ideal place to let you have them back, but I
couldn't be here when they suddenly reappeared, so I ask Ryan to take care
of that. No one else knew about this, but me and Ryan, and he doesn't know
the whole story. We enjoyed watching you try to figure it out, and I know
you had several fantasies about how they went missing and then,
reappeared." I listened and then, I shook my head and said "Ok, well the
mystery is solved, and I do have to say that I had several healthy
fantasies." I was just about to sit down when Matt spoke up and said "I
know that I was in one of those fantasies!" I just glared at him and the
whole room erupted into laughter. After the mystery was solved, I said "I
have to take time again to thank Mikel and Matt Bennett for allowing us to
enjoy ourselves for the past week and for furnishing a lot of our food. It
has been fun, but like all good things, it must come to an end so, we need
to start packing and then, Mikel and I will assign clean-up
responsibilities. We are trying to leave here no later than noon. We will
stop somewhere along the way for lunch and a restroom break, so take care
of your business soon, as once we clean the bathrooms, they will be
off-limits." There was groaning, but Jay said "He means business." Before
everybody started to move out to do their packing, Justin said "I have
truly enjoyed my time at the lake, I was a little shocked at the nudity,
but I truly enjoyed the time of being natural in nature. I know that this
is something that we can't do all the time, but I am amenable to a guy trip
every so often" and then, he looked over at Colt. Colt responded "I don't
know why you are looking at me. This is something that I have not done
since my Boy Scout days, but within five minutes of being depantsed, I
enjoyed being naked on both land and in the water. "I looked at Mikel and
he said "If you remember, I said after us older guys arrived, that I
enjoyed this setting and I am so glad that you have enjoyed it too." We
began to head in our separate directions, but before I headed to my
bedroom, Kevin came over and said "Doug, I have enjoyed getting to know
you, and I wanted to tell you that I enjoyed our talk the other afternoon
and have valued your words of encouragement. I am still somewhat hesitant
to strip, but I have done it and lived. I was scared when the grabbing
started yesterday. I was grabbed by several of the guys, and I stiffened,
but no one said anything negative, nor did they at any time on this trip.
I have to admit that I enjoyed grabbing some of the others too. After
thinking on this for a while, I hope that we can all do this again." I
said "Kevin, I hope so too, but I don't know how next summer will go
because the boys will probably have summer jobs, and I don't know if they
can take time off to come up here, but we will make an effort to do so."
Kevin headed to the motor home, while I walked to my bedroom. Phil had
most of our stuff packed, so I began to help him take it to the front
porch.

Everyone began to bring their clothes and other things to the front porch.
We began to pack the vehicles. The boys helped Shane and Jared store the
paddle boards in Matt's truck while we packed some of the remaining items
in Shane's Jeep and Matt's truck. As soon as I finished packing the
Denali, I headed to the kitchen and began to do a thorough cleaning. Matt
and Mikel worked on the cook shed. Colt and Justin helped store the
Bennett's watercraft in the boatshed after they finished packing their
clothes. Jared and Myles filled a couple of coolers with ice and soft
drinks and placed one in the back of Matt's truck and the other in the
Denali. Rob was assigned to vacuum the living / great room while Jay was
assigned to vacuum the bedrooms. Ryan and Myles served as go-fers. Jared
cleaned the guest bathroom while Phil cleaned ours. We finished the
cleaning around eleven-thirty and headed to the woods to answer nature's
call. Everything was packed, and we were ready to roll at eleven -
fifty-five. Shane was lead vehicle, followed by Mikel, then me, and
finally Matt. Shane opened the gate, and Matt closed and locked it. We
pulled out and began our trip home.

We turned onto the highway and were able to pick up speed. Mikel called me
after a few miles and asked if I had an objection to stopping at a buffet
that was about an hour away. I told him that I didn't, so he said that he
would call the owners to let them know that thirteen men would be stopping
to eat in an hour. As we approached the town, Mikel took the lead. We
followed him and parked in the parking lot of his friends' restaurant. We
walked into the restaurant and Mikel was greeted by the owners. They made
us feel welcome and began to tell us what we could expect on the buffet.
Their listing sounded great to us hungry people. We washed our hands and
began to fix our plates while the owners brought our drinks to the table.
I was amazed at the offerings on the buffet. There was fried chicken, BBQ
ribs, fried pork chops, field peas with snaps, speckled butter beans, fried
okra, boiled okra, corn on the cob, cream style corn, sliced fresh
tomatoes, stuffed pears, mashed potatoes, fresh cucumbers in vinegar,
gravy, yeast rolls, and several types of pies and cakes. We packed our
plates and sat down. There was nothing disappointing about this meal. As
we were eating, the lady owner brought out some fresh cucumber pickles for
us to sample. They were awesome. She said that she was working on some
pickled okra, and a batch of pickled squash. I wish that I could hang
around and sample those, but it is time for us to head home so, I will just
do that. We finished eating, and Mikel took care of the bill. All of the
men protested, but he said "It was already a done deal, and that everyone
would just have to accept that he was a generous man." I had to agree that
he was, and I could really see those attributes in Matt.

We thanked the owners for extending their hours for us. They said that
they were glad to be able to see Mikel and any of his family and friends.
We decided to do a little walking around the town just to get the blood
flowing in our legs. After we made a quick tour of the surrounding stores,
we returned, loaded up and hit the road. Mikel turned off and headed to
his and Kevin's town about eighty miles away from ours. We continued on
our route. Myles asked if we were in a good spot for him to call his mom.
I told him that I thought he would get good reception, so he made his call.
Michelle answered, and he talked to her about the trip and told her that we
were about an hour away from home. He asked if she was working tonight and
she told him that she wasn't. He said "That's great because we get to
spend some time together." In a few minutes, she asked Myles to put me on
the phone. Michelle told me that she had made the doctor's appointments
for Ryan and Myles. She said "Doug, I am so glad that all of us are listed
on the boys' records because one of the receptionists was not going to let
me make an appointment for Ryan, but I persisted and had her pull his
charts. She finally agreed after a quick review of his information. I
made appointments for both of them to have their blood work on Monday
morning, so they will have to fast until after the blood work. They will
see the doctor on Thursday afternoon." I asked if she could come down to
the house after we were home as we needed to talk. She said that she could
and then, she began to ask me questions about why did I need to talk to
her. I finally said, I need your guidance on a few things, and I need to
focus on your responses totally rather than splitting my focus between the
subject at hand and traffic on this road. She seemed to relax, and we hung
up.

We finally arrived home. Matt and I backed our vehicles into my driveway
while Shane parked in his former parking place at Justin's house.
Everybody got out and began to unload their stuff from the vehicles. I
asked Myles and Ryan to take our dirty clothes to the laundry room, sort
them and begin a load in the washing machine. As we continued unpacking,
Phil took our few clean clothes to our bedroom and then, he took Ryan and
Myles' to Ryan's room. I unloaded the cooler, took the drinks out, placed
them in the refrigerator, cleaned the cooler and stored it in the garage.
Matt and Jared helped store Ryan's and Myles' paddle board while Justin and
Shane took charge of Jay's. Colt called Christine to come pick him and Rob
up, so as soon as she arrived, they loaded their stuff along with Rob's
paddle board. Colt came over and thanked Matt and me for an enjoyable and
fun time at the lake. He said "If you ever decide to do it again, let me
know as I really want to go again." Christine yelled over to me and said
"Doug, I really owe you for four days of peace and quiet!" I gave her 'a
thumbs up' and yelled back "I will put it on your bill!"

Justin and Jay unloaded their stuff from Shane's Jeep and then, they came
over for a few minutes of man gossip. Meredith came over kissed Justin,
and hugged both of her boys. She said "I am so glad to see you guys, it
has been lonesome in that house, but Christine and I did go shopping and
Justin's credit card got a workout." Justin rolled his eyes and said "I
may never get to go anywhere again." Meredith grabbed Jay by the neck and
led him home with Shane and Justin following. Ryan, Myles, Phil and I were
left so, we finished emptying the Denali. I pulled out of the driveway and
turned the Denali around. I then, drove straight in and parked it in the
garage. I entered the house to the sound of the house phone ringing. I
answered it and it was Michelle. She said "Doug, I will be down in about
forty-five minutes to an hour. I am bringing food, so you will need to
make the tea since I know you don't have any made. She didn't offer to
tell me what she was bringing, so I made a gallon of sweet tea and placed
it in the refrigerator. After I finished making the tea, I walked into the
laundry room and moved the clothes from the washing machine to the dryer
and loaded another load in the washer. After I finished what I could do in
the laundry room, I went to my bedroom, unpacked my clothes and put them
up. Phil had already taken care of putting his clothes away and was lying
across the bed. I talked to him the entire time that I was in the bedroom,
so he could not go to sleep. In a few minutes, Phil got up saying "I can
see that I am not going to be allowed to rest, so I guess I will go cut the
grass." Phil left the bedroom and headed to garage to get the lawnmower.
Later, I heard the lawnmower start and from what I heard, Phil was cutting
the front yard.

I pulled the plastic plates and cups out of the cabinet and placed them
along with the cutlery on the counter. I checked the refrigerator to see
what I had to cook for breakfast tomorrow morning and began to make a
grocery list. I would have to go tomorrow after breakfast. I was in the
middle making my list when the front doorbell rang. I opened the door to
find Michelle standing there with two large bags from Olive Garden. I took
the heaviest and we both walked into the kitchen and sat them on the
counter. I looked, and she had brought a large pan of lasagna, a large
garden salad, and breadsticks. I walked to the front door and motioned for
Phil to come to dinner, and then, I called Ryan and Myles. Myles ran and
hugged his mom as soon as he saw her. It was a touching moment because it
was evident to me as to how much they love and depend on one another. Phil
entered the kitchen, spoke to Michelle and asked to be excused to take a
quick shower. He told us to go ahead and eat and he would join us in a few
minutes. I opened the utensil drawer and located the salad tongs, a knife,
and a slotted serving spatula. I cut the lasagna into squares and placed a
square on each plate while Michelle served the salad in the bowls. Ryan
placed ice in the cups and poured the tea. We sat at the counter and ate
while Ryan and Myles told Michelle about their time at the lake.

As soon as we had finished eating, Phil excused himself to the bedroom,
while Myles and Ryan cleaned the kitchen and returned to Ryan's bedroom.
This allowed Michelle and me to have some time to talk. I shared with her
my conversation with Mikel. She listened intently and said "I need to see
this so-called bite, and I really wish we knew more about what he thinks,
but I trust our doctors. I will double check the blood draw order to make
sure that it is comprehensive tomorrow, and if not, I will have it updated
for both boys." I thanked her for doing that for Ryan. She said "Now
Doug, you do remember that they will have to be fasting when they go for
blood work so they can't eat after nine o'clock tomorrow night and nothing
until after the blood draw on Monday." I said "Yes, I remember, and I am
the one that will have to enforce it because those two have major
appetites." She smiled and said "I know." The boys entered the family
room and Michelle asked Myles to come over to her. He was a little
hesitant, and then, she sensed his reluctance. She said "Myles, Doug was
telling me that you have a bug bite, I want to see it, and I want you to
show it to the doctor on Thursday." Michelle examined the bump, looked at
me, and shook her head. Michelle said "Myles, it's time for us to go home,
so let's grab your stuff, and you can see Doug and Ryan tomorrow." We
walked out to the garage and helped Myles with his belongings.

After they left, Ryan and I headed to our bedrooms as we were tired and
ready to sleep. I walked into my bedroom and found Phil in the bed. I
walked into the bathroom, stripped, took a quick shower, walked back to the
bed and crawled in beside Phil. Phil reached to his right and turned off
the lamp and soon our room was dark, but we were not asleep. We just lay
there and let our hands roam and explore, then our lips got involved. Phil
turned and assumed the 69 position, after some edging and special
techniques; we brought each other to climax. Phil returned to his original
position with his head next to mine. He pulled me close and in a few
minutes, we both fell asleep.

END of CHAPTER 51 - My Son and His Friends

Well guys, we have returned home and are now getting ready for a trip to
the doctor and that pre-school physical - this could be the boy's first
fickle finger of fate examination. Soon summer vacation will be over, and
we will be in another school year. The boys will be freshmen in high
school and they will be at the same school as me. It is going to be
interesting to see how the doctor's visits go, how the last days of summer
are spent, and how Justin, Colt, Phil, and Doug all relate to each other as
they interact now that they are back at home.

Thank you to those who have taken the time to write about this story. I am
really enjoying hearing from all of my readers as your perspectives and
comments keep me motivated. I will begin to write Chapter 52 in a few
days.
