"What do you mean, you haven't heard about it!"

"It's all over town!"

"Geesh! Did you hear the news, Justin?"

"Now I have."

At first it had been a group of sopranos and altos,
then a couple of tenors, added to the group of
conversationalists, talking of the `big accident',
over on Bridges Lane, this evening.

"Um, these cookies are good, Mrs. Farner."

Totally oblivious to the subject matter, Antonio
enters the group.

"Why, thank you Antonio. Take some home with you."

"Thanks, but they don't allow us to take food into the
dorms."

"It's up to you. Don't break the rules on account of
my homemade cookies I slaved all afternoon to make!"

People got a jolt out of Mrs. Farner's joke. Some
suggested to Antonio of `bending' the rules, with the
excuse `it's Christmas!' One of the other ladies comes
up with a baggie and fills it to the brim with the
delicious sugar cookies, handing it to Antonio.

"At least some of us don't need to watch our
waistline!"

"Oh, believe me, Christian, I'm one of the ones that
do."

Now that the crowd has dissipated, Anotonio catches up
with Justin and Christian.

"I hit the college gym at least 5/7."

"I wish I had the time," Justin says.

"Same here," Christian adds. "Between working at
Birdy's Cafe and the few classes I'm pulling, there's
little time left for anything else."

"But you two manage a relationship, huh?"

Smiling at each other, Justin and Christian imbibe in
a few forgotten moments.

"Never mind," Antonio says. "None of my business.
Look, I have to go."

Christian doesn't know the history, of how Antonio and
Justin carried on one night. Justin has the knowledge
of Antonio's tragic love affairs, of one guy lost to
drugs, another to AIDS.

"I got an idea," Justin says.

"What?" Christian poses back to Justin, thinking it
was him he talked to, immediately surrendering the
thought.

It's apparent he meant Antonio. Christian scratched
his head, as if it would help erase his question!

"Tomorrow is the church's annual Christmas campout.
Why don't you come along, `Antonio'?"

"I don't know."

"Believe me, you'll love it. Kids doing crafts,
hiking. The older boys get to do some canoeing,"
Justin fills him in.

Even though this is Christian's first campout, he
adds, "Plus we get to tell some stories around the
campfire!"

"I know some spine-tingler's," Antonio recalls,
"that'll knock their socks off!"

"As long as they aren't too scary."

"Yeah," Christian adds to Justin's worry, "we don't to
be up all night, if you know what I mean?"

He's alluded to the fact of a call up of the past
afternoon's history. Sitting there in Birdy's cafe,
Justin unbuttoning his shirt, moving it behind his
shoulders, tweaking his nips as he zeroes in for a
lip-lock. Then matching up their crotches, as Justin
takes a seat. Unfortunately, Antonio can relate to it,
but instead of taking it as a joke, excuses himself.

"I'll see you guys maybe tomorrow."

"Bad move," Justin says.

"What'd I say?"

"The guy's lost two lovers. One to drugs and the other
to AIDS. He's batting zero right now."

"Oops," Christian assesses his own actions. "I sure
goofed, didn't I?"

"You didn't know."

"It doesn't make me feel any better. Poor guy."

"Chris, I have to tell you something."

"What?"

"First, I have to go to the jon."

There wasn't any more secretive, private place than
the church's basement, other than the jon, to unload
his mind. As Justin took on the kiddie's urinal,
Christian stood at the adult one. Unzipping, each
pulled out their rod.

"So, what's this about?"

"Not much to tell other than, when he was sixteen, he
fell in love with a guy his own age. Seems the only
reason the kid wanted to be involved," Justin pissed
away, "was to get him hooked on meth. Only, Antonio's
parents were more strict, having a good relationship,
so it saved him from using the stuff."

"Hmm... Good for him."

"Yes, but two years ago..."

"Wait. How old is Antonio?"

"Almost same as me, twenty-one."

"A year older. Okay, so what happened?"

As they squeezed the last dribble out, the two parked
their cocks back into their pants, zipping up. They
shared the sink.

"Not much to tell other than, he fell in love with a
guy, found out he had AIDS and the guy died on him."

"Geesh! And I had to say what I said."

"Like I said, Chris. You didn't know."

"Yeah. So, how did you come by all this knowledge."

Justin smiles, saying, "I knew it would lead to this."

Drying their hands, they lingered a moment, while
Justin told Christian all. Of how they sat in the same
car and did some necking. He was honest, saying he
thought it might lead to something more, but instead,
the next day, while at his uncle's sporting goods
store, he `met someone else'! Christian smiled. He
almost engaged Justin in a hug and kiss, only the
men's door swung open.

"My car won't turn over!"

"It's snowing out?"

Christian more suggests, seeing the little bits of
moisture clinging to Antonio's coat.

"Flurries. That's all. Will they cancel the campout?"

"Not unless it's a blizzard," Justin informs them
both, as they head out of jon.

Taking his coat, Justin tosses Christian his. After
picking up his briefcase of music, the three head out
into the cold.

"I tried starting it three times and nothing."

Sure enough, the car didn't fire a spark.

"Do you think you can drop me off at the dorm?"

"Sure," Justin was more than glad to offer.

On the way down the road, around the skirt of the city
of West Richlan, the trio headed, snow falling against
them.

"Are you sure they'll have the campout in this cold?"

"Def," Justin reassured them.

Antonio leaned in between the two seats of Justin's
car, a blue, 2002 Beetle. Originally Justin's uncle
had it as a second car, but when his uncle `inherited'
his care, he decided he needed a new car, `suddenly'!

"Wow! The snow's really picking up."

Christian looks up, directionally, frontwards, but up
at the snow falling, clinging to the front window,
sticking between the wiping of the window clean.

"You wouldn't want to slack out on our sofa, would
you?"

Christian looked to Justin, a smile, showing he
approved of Justin's judgement.

Antonio at first declined, but then, with the snow
starting to cake up on the front of the car, he
rekindled the conversation.

"I think I better take you up on your offer."

It's a part of the story Justin didn't get to, of
driving to his uncle's place, kissing on the sofa,
until his uncle passed on through. From then on, as
with Christian, he took his privates matters to his
room. It's not that his uncle made a stink about the
same-sex matter. Unlike his dad's views, it didn't
matter which way Justin swung.

"Hi guys!"

"And what are you doing out of bed, young man?"

Unnoticed, Philip had slipped his legs out of bed,
landing on his feet.

"Doctor Scal-ya, how come you have to be so mean
all-of-the time?"

The comment didn't phase Sean, sitting ten feet away,
but it gave Jacq a good chuckle.

"You're back on my `you-know-what' list!"

He didn't chuckle, but still held the smile on his
face.

"I gotta go. Can you take me, Uncle Jock?"

"Sure."

Due to medicine given Philip, to make him groggy,
putting him in a sleepy mode, he swayed when walking.
Jacq stood behind the eleven year old, a hand on each
shoulder, guiding him as if a ship headed into port.

"You know Philip, we shouldn't be mean to Doctor
Scalia."

"I wasn't."

"I know, but what I'm getting at," Jacq explained, as
Philip let loose a line of boy-piss, "it's not nice to
tell people they're mean, even if they are."

"Then how're they supposed ta know?"

Jacq thought it a fair question.

"Well, Doc Scalia isn't really being mean."

"Then how come she acts like it?"

Philip shook off his little tinkler. Picking up his
chin, the gown fell down over him.

"Ooops!"

"What's the matter?"

"I got this wet, Uncle Jock."

Looking to the front of Philip's gown, Jacq says,
"It's only a spot."

"They're not my clothes."

"I think by the time the morning comes, it'll be dry."

"I don't want Doctor Scal-ya yelling at me!"

"She's not going to yell at you. Besides, it's not
`mean' she's being."

"No?"

"It's more like she has these rules and people have to
follow them. She keeps the place running by having
people follow the rules. Think about it. Wouldn't you
get a little mad if somebody broke a rule you made?"

"I dunno. Maybe. I wouldn't like it, that's for sure!"

Then, from outside the door, they hear, "Whatsamatter?
You two fall in?"

"Fall in where?" Philip asks Jacq.

"Never mind." Then, handing a paper towel to Philip,
he yells, "We're coming out now."

%

"What a mess!"

"Tell him. He's the one that started it!"

The blame was put on Connor for the sticky floor, root
beer stains in spots, silhouetting against a few clean
areas.

"Don't gang up on me or anything! Geesh!"

"I don't feel like cleaning it up now. I'll come back
tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? It looks like these snow flurries have
turned into a blizzard."

"Blizzard, Maury? It's not even sticking."

"All I know is, if this mess isn't cleaned up, there
will be hell to pay tomorrow morning."

Connor gets an idea.

"No problem. I'll leave Chad and Matty a note, taped
to the front door and come back in the morning to
clean it up."

"You're going to have to come before the store opens."

"No problem," Connor says.

Maury waits by the back door, as Connor writes, Jim
helping to compose.

%

"Are you sure you're going to be alright, `Beary'?"

"I'll be fine. Find out abouts the boys."

"Oh, I will."

"I love you."

"Me love you too."

As Steve waved, closing the door, he wished he were on
the inside. Walking the halls, he heard a noise come
from the janitor closet. Of course it occured to him
what it `could' mean. He looked up and down the halls.
Not seeing a sole, he reached for the handle. Almost
he went to turn it, it turned from the inside. He
rushed away quickly, then slowed to almost a halt,
faking a casual stroll. Wanting to turn his head
around, look in the direction of the janitor's closet
was almost as tough as wanting a piece of chocolate
candy. However, he did get a jolt out of hearing two
male voices go, `whew!'

"Dad-Steve!"

All cozied up, in bed, Philip slipped out, faster than
a banana out of it's slippery shell. Fortunately Doc
Scalia wasn't around to comment. Jacq had left with
her.

"How's my boys?"

"I'm fine, but Aidan's not doing too good."

Sean stepped in to explain, "What Philip means is
Aidan is sleeping still. The heavy dose of a sleeping
aid."

"Whew! I'm glad that's all it is."

At the moment, Sean didn't want to break any other
news. He hoped Steve waited til the doc and Jacq got
back.

"He looks peaceful."

"Yup," Sean replied.

"Go ahead, tell dad-Steve what Doctor Scal-ya told us,
Sean!"

Tugging at his sleeve, Sean hoped for once Philip
would hush up. An acute smile on Steve's face suddenly
turned upside down.

"Is there something really `really' wrong with my... I
mean our son?"

"And my brother, " Philip puts his two cents in.

"Um, well...."

Fortunately Sean's short prayer came true. In walked
Doc Scalia, trailing Jacq.

"Hell..."

"Oooooh Doctor Scal-ya?" Philip shamed her.

"Excuse me. What I meant to say," she mainly directs
at Philip, "is heck. Yeah, that's it... `heck'. Heck,
it's getting to look like Grand Central Station in
here!"

By now, the belated effort, the statement didn't hold
too much creedance, so the fifty-something doc went
right on.

"How are you Steve?"

"I `was' happy to see my partner doing well, but now
I'm not getting the same vibes as with Aidan here.
Care to explain?"

When Steve had left her last night, there wasn't much
available. Now, Aidan had awakened and been put back
to sleep. Not before some information about his health
could be exposed.

"All I'm going to say right now is he has problems
moving his right leg."

"Oh nooooo..." Steve replies, doing what usually comes
natural, rubbing his face with his right hand, his
left cupping his right elbow, his fingertips ending at
his chin.

Steve chose not to make a big deal about it. Not in
front of Philip, that is. Sean could handle it, but
knowing the close brotherly and `otherly' relationship
the two have, he chooses to tone it down.

"So, when will you know more?"

"Tomorrow, when he wakes up."

"Um, could I.. um, stay?"

"Hmm.... normally we don't do that kind of thing, but
the look of that snow coming down, I'll pull you a
favor."

"Heeeeey," Philip says, all excited, "you're not
`that' mean, Doctor Scal-ya!"

Bending over a third, see tells the eleven year old,
"I appreciate hearing it. It's not everybody's
opinion!"

Her eyes turn up, cocks her head, in Jacq's direction.
He smiles back.

"Here's a pillow and blanket."

"What's this? Company?" Justin's Uncle Seb asks.

"It's starting to look ugly out there," Antonio
answers.

Setting the record straight, since Uncle Seb looks
over to Christian, Justin offers, "Yeah, it's starting
to stick. We're coming from choir practice."

Christian kicks in with, "His car wouldn't start."

"Shame. If I recollect from the last time I saw...."

Uncle Seb stops mid-sentence, realizing the conflict
of interests. Being nice about it, Christian steps in.

"I know all about it."

"You do?" Antonio and Uncle Seb say, simultaneously.

The two look at Christian, wanting more.

"It's not a problem." Then, as clear as day, he
unloads, "If I made love to another guy,
I'd tell my lov... I mean."

He then became flustered. He wanted to say what he
meant, but felt awkward. Fortunately, Uncle Seb made
it easy on their ears.

"No need to explain. I think we all get the gist of
the story!"

The manner in which Uncle Seb spoke, created more of a
jovial scene. With everything understood, Justin's
uncle left the three.

"I'll leave a new towel and wash cloth out for you,
Antonio. I think, `ahem', you know where the jon is?"

Smiling, the twenty-one year old says, "I do."

"We'll see you in the morning."

Where the extra sofa was, was a rarely used room.
Instead of one TV, there were extras, in the kitchen,
Uncle Seb's room and Justin's bedroom. As Christian,
who now was considered a usual `fixture' around the
home, felt it normal to strip down, as soon as they
entered the room.

"Antonio's a lot of fun."

"I know."

Faster than Justin, Christian had stripped his shirt,
starting to work on the belt buckle. The ceiling light
made the light glazing of blond hair, crossing his
chest, shimmer, along with the striped down his
stomach.

"I saw how you too carried on."

"I hope we weren't too noisy."

As Justin caught up, undid his belt buckle, opening
it, peeling his pants down and off, Christian watched,
as his dark brown hair, a thin line to his navel,
widened, passing over his navel, before giving way,
being buried under the elastic of his lowrise briefs.

"Hey, let me get something straight..."

Christian reacted to what he contrived as alarm.

"You are mad!"

"No. I'm not. All I want to tell you is I love you
and...."

"You love me?"

The two stood a foot apart.

"Yeah."

"I love you too!"

Then it became some giddy between the two. More
awkward, but at the same time, born out of lust and
ambition. Capturing each up in their arms, they kissed
wildly. It lasted for some minutes, til they realized
it had caused them to get mightly hard, down yonder.

"Um, excuse me, but...."

With tongue in cheek, Antonio stood there. The same
state as themselves, stripped to his briefs, each of
the trio took the other in.

"What's up?" Christian asked, his arm still around
Justin, but his eyes glued to scanning Antonio's bod.

"I'm really sorry for breaking up what looks like a,"
he gulped, "tender... never mind."

It became all too obvious for the pair, Antonio's
mental state. The means by which someone feels
something in their throat before breaking down.

"Wait a minute, Antonio," Justin yells to him, as he
leaves.

Christian follows along behind.

"No. This is all wrong!"

Racing into the other room, Antonio picks up his
paints. Before he gets a leg into them, Justin is on
his case.

"It's not wrong."

Christian imitates his lover, "It's not wrong." Then,
questioning, asks, "It's not wrong is it?"

"See? Even your lover questions it."

With both legs in his jeans, Antonio hefts them up,
over his hips. Justin catches him before he hooks them
together, his hand at the zipper.

"Owwwwwwwch...ooooohhhhh ooohhhhh...."

Right between his thumb and first finger, Antonio
holds him at bay. All hell breaks loose, until the
mayhem is brought under control, by the appearance of
Uncle Seb.

"Whoaaaaa... calm down now, everybody calm down."

Justin winced, but tried keeping his cool. Uncle Seb
instructed everyone as if a pro at stuff like this.

"Christian, run and get some ice out of the freezer."
Then, yelling over his shoulder, grab a towel.

"What should I do?" Antonio asks.

A kind-hearted man, even though it looked like a
malicious act on Antonio's behalf, he would let his
nephew and friend do their own healing.

"Hold your hand on your crotch."

"My crouch?"

"Your zipper. The top of your pants?" Then, with a
smirk, he asks, "Whadya think?"

"Who cares!" Justin got fidgety.

"Hold on now, son," Uncle Seb said. "We'll have you
out of this fix in a minute."

"It hurts like hell."

It hurt hundreds times worse when his uncle yanked the
zipper down, Justin trying to break loose from the
hold Uncle Seb had on his wrist. Bad enough Justin
dances about, as if doing a Navajo war dance.

"Ice! Ice!"

Christian arrives just in time, not only with ice, but
a pan to immerse his hand into.

"Um, is this what they do when a guy gets his cock
stuck in his zipper?"

"Christian, you doofus, who cares!" Justin says,
throwing his hand, as if punching the pot, immersing
his hand. "Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit! Hurts like
hell!"

Antonio just stood there, holding both sides of his
pants, offering apologies left and right.

Arriving back home, Maury presses the garage opener.

"Damn thing is jammed again. One of you boys mind?"

"I'll do it."

Jim was closest to the door, Connor in the middle of
the cab of Maury's 4x4. He opened it easily, throwing
his thumb towards the garage, a signal to pull
forwards. However Maury turned the truck off.

"What's up?" Jim asks at Maury's side of the truck.

Connor says, "He came up with a brilliant idea for a
change!"

He earned a fake punch in the arms, crying out, if as
real.

"If we leave the truck out, making sure everything is
covered, it'll act just like a freezer!"

"And what happens if when, tomorrow, we wake up and
the sun is shining?"

Maury answers Jim, "Oh. I didn't think about that."
The, if an answer comes by magic, "Wait."

"What?"

"You and Connor. Or is it Connor?"

"Me what?" Connor says.

"Have to get up early to be at Barrs & Bridges, to
clean up the mess `you' made?"

>From standing next to the open window of the 4x4,
across, in front of Maury, Jim makes eye contact with
Connor. Both smirk.

"Well?"

"Yeah," Jim says with a slow, coy retort, "we could do
that. Yeah. Leave it out. I'll close the garage door."

Once inside, entering by the indoor swimming pool, it
didn't take much convincing for any of them to decide
it was `stripping time'. Connor and Jim seemed to move
faster, also dressed lighter, stripping down to the
buff. Maury was still on untangling his sneaker lace.

"Oh, Maury?"

"What?" He calls back, answering Jim, already in the
pool.

"Be a doll and set the oven for four hundred?"

With one sneaker on, one off, he picks up the bag with
the defrosted pizza and heads off to the kitchen.

"Okay, but you two get to serve!"

In actuality, it's been pretty good around, since the
two teens came to live with Maury and he's been
counting his blessings. Entering the kitchen, his
shirt wide open, one foot shy of a sneaker, he scooped
up the red Santa hat the boys left for him on the
diningroom table. In red and green glitter was printed
his name `M A U R Y', underlined in gold. When the
boys came back from the mall the other day, they
presented it, saying `fit for a king', only sorry his
name wasn't underlined in real gold. As he fetched a
pizza pan, deposited the pizza on it, put it in the
oven, he wore his special hat. Hearing a humongous
laugh, he went to the door. From the distance he
watched as the two goosed each other, in the pool.

Maury thought to himself, as he scratched his crotch,
`things weren't this noisy last Christmas. In fact, it
was kind of boring around here!'. Thinking of boring,
brought about his thoughts of occuring memories. When
Connor and Jim first showed up, their excitement at
going skinny dipping in the pool, the many times
they've been in there. The parties over the year,
inviting their friends. And for a thirty-two year old,
how they've made him fit in. `Yep,' he gazed at their
merry-making, `he had it pretty good.' Plus, by the
time he finished reminiscing, he had a boner!

"Hey Maury! What're you waiting for?"

To add to Jim's greetings, Connor yells, "Christmas?"
