CHAPTER FOUR

Edgar and Edwin, the twins were wrestling on the floor in front of the
TV. Arms and legs flying around like a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

"Hey, what's going on here?" I rushed over to the twin and tried to
separate them. The boys rolled apart in a fit of giggles.

"Hey, Mr. Caruso." The boys said in unison. "Want to wrestle?"

"Good morning boys. maybe we can wrestle later." I looked down at the
identical boys, their smooth scalps and glistening black skin. Both
wearing blue t-shirts and knee length shorts, I had no idea who was
who. "Can you guys help me with something?"

"Sure." They said together again.

"How can I tell you apart?"

The boys jumped to their feet and laughed.

"I'm Edgar and this is Edwin." Edgar said through constant giggles.

"Edgar has a scar on his cheek, Mr. Caruso. That's how most can tell
us apart." Edwin pointed to his brother's scar. I nodded and repeated
several times in my head, 'Edgar has the scar. Edgar has the scar'.

"Have you picked out a movie to watch?" I asked as I sat down on the
couch.

"Yeah, we want to see The Terminator." Edgar produced the movie and
waved it in front of me to see.

"I thought we wanted to see Jaws?" Edwin glowered.

"No. we. want. to. see. THE TERMINATOR!" Edgar jumped on Edwin and
once again, the boys were a mangle of arms and legs.

"We'll watch the Terminator first and then Jaws, all right?" I grabbed
the movie and turned on the DVD player. I was back on the couch
watching the previews before the twins stopped wrestling. It was like
turning off the light, one second they were fighting, the next,
smiling and sitting down next to me. I was the book to these two
bookends of boys.

"See I told you Mr. Caruso would want to see the Terminator." Edgar
whispered as if I couldn't hear him.

"You did not." Edwin yelled. Okay, this was definitely different from
being in the bathroom with two nude boys. I squeezed myself back into
the cushions and tried to avoid the manic twins as they fought over
me.

"Hey guys! Do you fight like this all the time?"

"We're not fighting." Edgar said. "We are expressing our emotions."

"Yeah, vocalizing our pain of abandonment." Edwin giggled.

"Oh, now I understand." I said with a roll of my eyes. Apparently, Dr.
Coyer has spent way much time with these two.

"Mr. Caruso. did you really tell Rudy, you would kill us?" Edgar
asked.

"Not really. I just think you guys shouldn't play with him so roughly.
He is smaller than you two."

"I told you Mr. Caruso didn't say that." Edgar said leaning across my
lap.

"You did not!" Edwin screeched, but his frown quickly disappeared into
a wide smile. "Rudy isn't small is he Edgar."

The boys giggled, covering their mouths in an attempt to hide their
laughter.

"His is bigger than yours." Edgar laughed.

"Stupid, ours are the same size." Edwin tried to slap Edgar and
missed, slapping my leg.

"Maybe, but I have more hairs down there." Edgar said proudly.

"Um. guys the movie?" I pointed to the TV, but the boys ignored me.

"Mr. Caruso. who do you like better. Rudy or Jaron?" Edgar asked me,
hugging my arm. Of course, once he did that, Edwin had to hug the
other arm.

"I think all of you boys are wonderful."

"That's what adults are supposed to say." Edgar whined.

"Honestly, I feel very blessed to have you all here." I put my hands
on their shoulders and squeezed, hoping they could hear the sincerity
in my voice.

The boys nodded and turned their attention to the movie at last. I
thought finally, the boys had settled down, but I was wrong. Edgar
leaned over and looked at his brother. Edwin shook his head and
pointed to Edgar, who in turn pointed back.

"You ask him." Edgar whispered and thrust his pointing hand forward.

"Ask me what?"

"Mr. Caruso. would you scratch our backs?"

"Both, at the same time?" I said looking left and then right at the
brothers. "Not sure I can accomplish that."

"Yeah you can." The boys said, jumping up from the couch. Edwin sat on
my right leg and Edgar, my right.

"How's that?" Edgar asked.

"I guess that will work." I said and slipped my hands under their
shirts and started to scratch. The boys gave each other a quick smile
and returned their attention to the movie. That was when Jaron and
Rudy joined us in the living room. Rudy was fully dressed and looking
clean. Jaron was of course naked, his cut off jeans lying next to the
chair, which he didn't bother picking up as he sat back in the chair.

"What are we watching?" Rudy ask taking Edgar's vacated spot on the
couch, he sat on his legs, slipping his toes under my butt and wiggled
them.

"Terminator." Edwin said. "After that, we're going to watch Jaws."

"I hate Jaws." Jaron moaned. "Can't we watch something else. or maybe
go swimming again?"

"Maybe." The twins said in unison and then looked back at me. "Belly
now."

They fell back into me and lifted their shirts. I didn't argue,
although I couldn't see the TV now. I ran my hands up and down their
thin stomachs and chests. I have to admit that this was seductive, two
tiny bodies under my hands. I didn't give a shit about seeing the
movie. Hell, I could never understand what Arnold Schwarzenegger was
saying anyhow.

"Could you rub my stomach next?" Jaron asked already rubbing his own
stomach in anticipation.

"Me too?" Rudy chirped in.

So that was how I spend the afternoon. Four boys tag teaming to sit in
my lap and have me rub their stomachs. After two full movies of this,
my arms were killing me. I loved the pain; it was a reminder of how
lucky I was on this vacation. Just touching the bare flesh of these
boys was heaven to me. I knew Jaron's body probably better than he
knew himself and Rudy, the boy melted in my embrace. As for the twins,
I think they enjoyed the contact more than I did, if that's possible.
The two brothers almost purred as I rubbed their stomachs. As the
credits for Jaws started, the twins jumped out of my laps and
announced that they had to be going.

"Lunch time." Edwin said.

"I can fix lunch here." I suggested.

"Dr. Coyer said we couldn't eat here all the time, we have to make our
own meals." Jaron said frowning.

"Oh, okay." Was all I could say, the disappointment branded across my
face.

"We'll see you later." The twins said together, each giving me a sweet
kiss on the cheek as they headed out of the house. Rudy hugged me and
Jaron blew me a kiss. Man, I loved these boys.

Once again, the silence was threatening to destroy me. I grabbed a DVD
and slipped it into the player, the noise of the movie helped with the
sudden loneliness I felt. It was crazy, I afraid of being alone, hell,
I've spent most of my life in solitude. So why did I panic when the
boys left? I should be celebrating my brief moments alone, to collect
my thoughts.. But of course, my thoughts, that was my enemy. While the
boys are here, I'm not thinking. Well, not thinking those thoughts
that drag me under and threaten to drown me in that deep pool of
sorrow. The boys were my edge I clung to, and they kept my head above
the water.

After I finished eating lunch, a TV dinner of roast beef and something
close to mash potatoes, I laid down on the couch. I had been right
about not getting enough rest. Even the sound of the movie couldn't
keep me from yawning. A quick nap was all I need to revive myself, so
I closed my eyes.

Daniel turns down the radio in the car. The weather outside it
horrible, the rain blinding and the traffic unbelievable, a perfect
atmosphere for Daniel's equally dreadful outlook.

"I can't believe you embarrassed me like that." Daniel almost yelled.
Zachary folded his arms across his chest and pouted.

"She was asking stupid questions." The boy said.

"She was Alice Shanks of Art House Magazine." Daniel did yell this
time. His head throbbed with aggravation at the weather and Zachary.

"How was I supposed to know. the bitch asked me if I was gay." Zachary
yelled back.

"Jesus Zach, you are gay. what's the big deal?" Daniel strained his
eyes to see the road. "Fucking school bus, I'm driving HERE!" He
growled as the yellow bus pulled unexpectedly into his lane. Traffic
was horrible.

"Sure you know that and I know that. Daniel I don't want the whole
world to know too. What would my parents say? They would find out
about us."

"So you have to tell her to 'fuck off'? I should have never brought
you to this premiere. Sometimes Zachary. I just don't know." Daniel
shook his head, letting his voice fall without continuing his
sentence. He slammed his fist into the steering wheel and swerved into
the oncoming lane, there was too much traffic to pass the bus, he
quickly jerked the car back into his lane. Daniel looked over at his
young passenger and frowned. How could he have been so stupid to
invite the boy to a major premiere? If Zachary has hurt his career, he
wasn't sure what he would do. he did know, Zach was finished as his
model and their relationship. that too was over.

"What's that?" Zachary pointed ahead of them. Daniel grumbled and
looked.

"Daniel. Daniel, wake up!"

I heard his voice, but couldn't stop myself from screaming.

"Daniel please wake up!"

I opened my eyes, blurry with tears; I looked into Sandy's concerned
face.

"Are you okay? You were screaming." Sandy said. I hugged him hard and
cried. I know I had scared Sandy and as I continued to cry, he had to
share my burden. But Sandy held me with confidence and strength,
whispering in my ear that everything would be all right.

"I'm sorry Sandy." I wiped the tears from my face and pulled away from
him. "I'm a wreck."

"You were having a nightmare." Sandy moved closer to me, he was wet,
his shirt stuck to him like wet paper, he rubbed my leg like a
concerned parent.

"A nightmare of all nightmares." I managed to say, choking as my
emotions threatened to overwhelm me again.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Sandy asked me. I looked him in the
eyes, his wonderful caring eyes and shook my head.

"I can't Sandy. not right now, I hope you can understand." My body was
weak and shaking. I truly wanted to talk to Sandy, I knew he cared and
would listen without judgment. However, he was just a child, no matter
how mature he acted, who was I to unload all my troubles on his small
shoulders?

"I'm hungry. feel like eating?" I asked dragging myself off the couch.

"Sure."

He hugged my waist as we walked into the kitchen and stayed there the
entire time I fixed our sandwiches.

"So what did you do today?" I asked, needing to hear something new to
take my mind off the nightmare.

"Did some walking. exploring the forest and then spent the rest of the
day at the lake with the boys." He said sitting as close as he could
to me on the couch as we ate. Sandy gave support through touch and
closeness. It was exactly what I needed, the warmth of his body, gave
me courage. We decided to watch Judge Dredd, a horrible movie, but it
was nice not to have to concentrate on a plot. Sandy removed his wet
shirt and wrapped his arms around my waist as we watched the comical
science fiction movie. Using today's experience, I scratched his back
with great skill. I even found the courage to let my hand caress his
butt. "Your speedo is soaking wet." I said raising my dripping hand
for him to see.

"Sorry about that. wasn't thinking." He stood and slipped them off, as
easily as someone would take off their hat. He returned to his seat
and cuddled me again. I rested my hand on his now bare bottom.

"I love being here." Sandy said softly. "I would like to live in the
country."

"It is nice. I may have to go on a hike tomorrow." I said as I
squeezed Sandy's right buttock.

"Maybe we could go together?" He said with excitement. "I found this
really nice spot for a picnic. but." he released his hold on me and
sat up, looking me in the eyes. "Could it just be you and me?"

"Just you and me." I said giving him a kiss on the forehead. We
relaxed back into the couch and watched Judge Dredd and then another
movie in complete silence. The nightmare had drained me, although I
had a long nap, my eyelids grew heavier by the minute. Finally, the
last movie ended, I sighed and reluctantly removed my hand from his
comforting smooth butt.

"You should get some rest." Sandy said patting my hand lovingly. The
thought of sleep scared me, but I was too weak to argue. Sandy led me
to the bedroom. I fell on the bed with a cracking bounce.

"Thank you for . for being here, Sandy." I watched as the boy pulled
off my shorts, he filled the role of parent well, moving me around so
he could remove my shirt, how odd life can be sometimes.

"It's okay Daniel. You just get some rest now." Sandy said soothingly.
I grinned and squeezed his hand before he stood up and left the room.
I watched that bare ass sway its way out of the room and smiled. That
was the vision I took into my sleep to comfort me and protect me from
the black powers of dreams.
