Author's note: Hello again everybody. I would like to thank all of the
people who have sent comments on this story. I really appreciate the nice
comments, ideas, and suggestions. I also have a few people to thank for
their help without it I would have taken much longer to get this far. The
first person is Scott, who has done an excellent job of proof reading this
chapter. He checked it for grammatical, spelling, and style. If you
notice, I did the checking on the first 2 chapter's and still did not catch
all of my mistakes. That is because a different pair of eyes work much
better than the author's when it comes to checking for mistakes.
Therefore, thank you Scott for a job well done, oh and by the way Chapter 4
is on its way. I will post it once Scott competes proofing it. The other
person I want to thank sent me this suggestion but signed it as "B" only.
He suggested that I make Jim uncircumcised so that Jim could explain the
difference between his and Rodie's penises. Well I used it, and I hope you
like how I handled it "B". And finally I want to thank Marc, for showing
me that my other favorite story site is still free, and still available.
It is just located at a slightly different web address. ASSGM.com went
commercial depriving all of us from one of the best story archives on the
net next to Nifty. Well I am glad to say that ASSGM is back now for all of
us but located at www.assgm.net . This site will remain free for all of us
to use. So please send Marc, who is the moderator there, a note of thanks
for returning this archive to everyone. Thank you all, and I hope you
enjoy the next couple of chapters. Damion

Rodie's Love, by Snwdemon

Chapter 3.

Jim awoke as sharp pains stabbed down his legs like hot knives.
Groaning in agony, he struggled to sit up, and turned on the lamp before
glancing at the alarm clock on the headboard. THREE AM, still three more
hours before dawn, Jim thought to himself as he reached for the medication
bottles on the night table next to the bed. Feeling the spasms, and pain
from long under used muscles; Jim quickly swallowed the pills and laughed
at himself as he gagged from the bitterness. He had been taking the same
medication for over five years now, and it still got to him. He then placed
his hands behind his head and arched backwards stretching out his
diaphragm, abdominal, and low back muscles. Leaning heavily on his cane,
Jim slowly stood, then made his way into the bathroom. Upon his return, he
stopped beside the bed to gaze at the small form that lay beside him.
Gently easing himself back down into bed, he heard the small boy stir. As
he settled himself under the covers, he felt the small arm snake across his
chest as Rodie snuggled closer to him. As Jim looked at the young boy,
seeing his long jet-black hair cascading down across the small, flat
sunburned chest, he could not stop thinking of the previous day. What he
had learned about the beautiful boy next to him, and about himself, brought
a crease to his forehead as he contemplated the discoveries.

Jim gently eased his arm under the pillow Rodie's head was resting
on. He stopped when the boy stirred, but Rodie just scooted closer to Jim,
draping his leg across Jim's leg, and resting his head on Jim's chest. Jim
could feel Rodie's shallow breathing as he lay there, chest to chest, with
the beautiful boy who made him feel alive again. Jim dimmed the touch lamp
down to it's lowest setting so it cast just enough light to allow Jim to
see without disturbing the boy's slumber. He tilted his head down, kissed
Rodie's forehead, then laid back, and slowly drifted off to sleep feeling
the small chest rise and fall. He was awakened sometime later, and slowly
looked around the room trying to detect what had disturbed him. He started
to lie back again when he felt Rodie's body twitch. Looking down at Rodie's
face, Jim could see the boy's eyes fluttering under their lids. Watching
Rodie's face, Jim felt the boy's breathing quicken as his arms and legs
started to jerk. "No." The small boy mumbled as he struggled through his
dream. "Please don't...Please Dad" Rodie cried out, as his struggles
became more violent. "No"! Rodie shouted as he sat up, fists clenched,
looking wildly about with eyes wide and unseeing. Fully awake now, and
realizing Rodie's distress, Jim slowly hugged the boy to him. "It's all
right Rodie, I'm here now, I won't let anyone hurt you, my love," Jim
crooned softly as he brushed the hair away from Rodie's face. Jim saw the
frightened and confused look in Rodie's small face, "It's ok Rodie, I'm
here for you, surf boy." The wild look in Rodie's eyes faded as he focused
on Jim's face, and realizing where he was, Rodie's body drooped as the
tears started to form in his eyes. Jim saw his bottom lip begin to tremble
as, clinging tightly, he buried his head against Jim's shoulder.
"Ssshhhh...Do not cry. I have you surf boy, you just had a bad dream is
all, you're safe now," Jim soothed feeling Rodie's small body spasm while
feeling the warm wetness on his shoulder. He held his beautiful boy while
softly caressing his small arm and shoulder until the spasms stopped and
Rodie into slumber again. Jim dozed until he heard movement in the next
room as Cathy moved about. He looked up at her as she paused in the
doorway, seeing them together. "Everything ok Jim?" Cathy asked in a
quiet voice. "I think he had a nightmare, we'll talk about it later ok,"
Jim whispered back while motioning towards Rodie. Cathy nodded
understanding, "there are some new toothbrushes in the drawer by the sink,
if you like" Jim said. Cathy held her finger to her mouth while
acknowledging him, then turned and moved away towards the main bathroom.

Jim lay there for another 30 minutes until he heard Cathy making
coffee in the kitchen. Gently shifting Rodie's body, he got out of bed and
went into the bathroom leaving the door slightly ajar. He shaved first,
then brushed his teeth before stepping out of his boxer briefs and into the
shower closing the frosted glass door. He let the hot water run over him
as it loosened up his stiff back muscles. He started slightly when he
heard the door close then the sound as Rodie peed in the toilet. Jim,
expecting Rodie to flush the toilet and leave, jumped slightly when Rodie,
naked as the day he was born, opened the door and stepped into the shower
with him. Rodie was still rubbing the sleep from his eyes from his
troubled night's slumber. Jim relaxed as Rodie hugged him while giving him
a sleepy smile as the hot water sprayed onto both of them. "Good morning
surf boy" Jim said, hugging the naked little imp back, "the water ok for
you?" "Morning...it stings a little on my back, but it is ok Jim" Rodie
replied while yawning. Jim lowered the temperature a little, then reached
for the shampoo bottle. "Ok, stand there and close your eyes surf boy" Jim
instructed before pouring the shampoo on Rodie's hair as they faced each
other. He worked up a good lather on Rodie's entire head and through his
long hair before moving out of the way and placing him under the shower
spray. Jim rinsed the boy's hair thoroughly before applying apple scented
conditioner. He then motioned Rodie towards the built in seat in the large
shower. Jim sat down, then grabbed the body sponge, and put a liberal
amount of body wash in it. He then started to wash Rodie's neck slowly
working his way downward, getting giggles and squeals as he hit all of the
boy's ticklish spots. Once finished with Rodie's front side, he had him
turn around, moved his hair out of the way, and proceeded washing his
backside. Jim felt Rodie push backwards slightly as he ran the body sponge
gently between the boy's firm cheeks then continued washing his legs.
After finishing, he put Rodie under the warm spray to rinse him and his
hair thoroughly. Sitting Rodie back on the seat, Jim finished his own
shower as Rodie watched.

Ushering Rodie out of the shower, Jim grabbed two large towels off
the shelf, draping one around Rodie's shoulders then wrapping his head and
hair in the other. As he reached for another towel for himself, Rodie said
"hey, your pee-pee is big too, but different from mine". Seeing that Rodie
was pointing at his hard six and a half-inch uncut cock, "That's because
I'm not circumcised like you are surf boy." "What's that mean?" Rodie
asked innocently while looking at Jim's face. As Jim wrapped the towel
around his waist, he closed the lid, then sat on the toilet. "You see the
skin covering the tip of mine?" Jim asked while opening his towel to
reveal his engorged member, then seeing Rodie nodding as he stared at it.
Gently tugging open Rodie's towel revealing his young naked body, Jim said,
"now look at yours, the skin is missing. That is because when you were
born the doctor operated on yours and removed it," Jim explained patiently
as Rodie compared the difference between their penises. "Does yours look
like mine underneath the skin?" Rodie asked innocently. "It sure does
surf boy, see" Jim answered as he slowly retracted his foreskin until the
head was completely exposed. "I have to also keep it clean under the skin
or it becomes itchy and sore Rodie" Jim said. Rodie nodded his head as he
watched Jim slowly retract the foreskin, then cover it again. Then with a
wicked, little glint in his eyes Rodie asked with a smile, "Can I touch
it?" "Yes, I've touched yours so it is only fair" Jim said smiling back at
Rodie. Rodie's hand trembled slightly as he reached out and gently grasped
Jim's hard dick. Giving it a light squeeze, Rodie looked up at Jim, "yours
is bigger than my dad's Jim only he's got a lot more hair on him than you."
"Well everyone is different Rodie. Your father is probably of European
descent whereas I am Hispanic, and therefore related to the Indian tribes
in South America. Have you noticed that none of the Indians on TV have any
hair on their chests?" Jim asked gently as Rodie took his hand away from
Jim's dick. "Yeah, you're right...they always look like you do now that I
think about it" Rodie answered as he reached up and softly caressed Jim's
hairless chest with his small hand, which trembled slightly. "Come on surf
boy, let's get you dry, your teeth are beginning to chatter in this air
conditioning," Jim said. Jim quickly rearranged his towel, then pulling
Rodie close, and started rubbing him down outside the towel. After drying
Rodie's small, slim frame, he helped him slip on the bright red pair of
cotton boxers Cathy had purchased the previous day for him. Rodie
immediately pushed them down until the waistband was just below his newly
formed tan line. He then wiggled his slender hips a little before looking
up at Jim with a contented smile.

Jim quickly dried himself and slipped on a clean pair of boxer briefs
before putting on his terry cloth robe. He then grabbed the hair dryer
from the shelf above the toilet, and started blow drying Rodie's hair as he
combed the tangles out. "Hey I know, I'll braid your hair like Pippi
Longstocking, you could be her long lost brother surf boy" Jim teased as
Rodie flashed an evil look at him before giggling. When Jim got to the end
of Rodie's beautiful hair, he aimed the hair dryer towards his pert behind.
"Hey, you're burning my butt Jim!" Rodie exclaimed looking over his
shoulder. "Oh, that is because I was thinking of having a couple of hot
buns for breakfast" Jim said with a silly grin. He started laughing as
Rodie quickly spun around causing his long hair to flare outward, while
covering his small butt with his hands. "Are we done?" Rodie asked once
his giggling subsided. "Not quite yet, look over in that drawer and get
one of the new tooth brushes and brush your teeth. I have already brushed
mine so I am going to go get dressed ok" Jim replied. He quickly rubbed a
little hair gel through his short dark hair before using a hair pick, which
gave it a spiky appearance, and walked out into the bedroom. He grabbed a
yellow tank top, "A" shirt, and a pair of camouflage muscle pants before
sitting down in the chair. Once he had finished putting on his knee brace,
socks, tank top, and pants Rodie came out of the bathroom, climbed up into
his lap and gave a kiss on the lips. Jim noticed that this kiss lasted
longer than the quick pecks Rodie had given him before. After kissing him
Rodie wrapped his arms around Jim's neck and laid his head on Jim's
shoulder, letting out a contented sigh. "I love you Jim" Rodie said in a
quiet voice. "I love you too Rodie, more than anything" Jim replied as he
gently hugged the young boy closer to his chest. "Come on, your mom has
some coffee waiting for us, so let's not keep her waiting."

Rodie sat up and looked in Jim's eyes with a serious look on his
cute face, something in his face told Jim that something was very wrong.
"I liked it when you held me this morning Jim...it made me feel safe and
happy...I haven't felt like that for a long time now" Rodie said finally in
a soft voice. "You remember that Rodie?" Jim asked because he thought
Rodie would not remember it since he had fallen back asleep after crying
for a few minutes. Rodie just nodded his head a little without looking
away from Jim. However, his eyes were telling Jim a completely different
story, and he could see the fear and uncertainty in them. Jim could see
the pain inside those green and gold eyes, and he could feel that pain
wanting to be released. "You want to tell me what's wrong surf boy?" Jim
asked gently. Rodie continued to look Jim in the eyes as his mind wrestled
with the decision to trust him. "I had a bad dream" Rodie answered finally
looking away from Jim. "I know you did...I heard you...I also heard you
talk about your dad, and it didn't sound to good. Is he why you had the
bad dream Rodie?" Jim asked with all the caring that he could put into
those words. When Jim mentioned his father, Rodie quickly looked back at
Jim with a frightened expression. Seeing the frightened look, Jim tried to
reassure him, "it's ok Rodie, you can trust me." When he saw Rodie relax
slightly he continued, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to ok,
I understand."

Looking uncertain and scared, Rodie looked over his shoulder to make
sure the door was closed before turning back to face Jim. "You have to
promise me you won't tell mom first" Rodie explained in a quivering voice
as tears welled up in his eyes. "I promise that I won't tell her unless
you say I can. That way you can decide when it is right to tell her, if
you tell her at all ok." Jim told him as he gently wiped away the tear
that had started to run down his small face. "She don't know Jim, he only
did it when she was not home. If I had not been bad daddy would not have
left. I tried to like the stuff other boys liked but I could not help it."
Rodie's voice was barely a whisper now as his eyes looked down. "He
started saying mean things to me...calling me bad names...telling me if I
was not so bad that he would not have to punish me. I begged him not to
but he wouldn't stop...". Wracking sobs came, shaking his little body and
hot tears streamed down his face. Jim hugged him close as Rodie clung too
him, "It hurt...it hurt so bad...I tried to make him stop...but he
wouldn't. He said all dirty faggots like it...but it hurt. I promised him
I would be good but he wouldn't stop. It hurt Jim...it hurt bad." Rodie
wailed as his crying worsened. "I know it did honey, I know it did. Don't
worry, I will never let anyone hurt you like that ever again." Jim vowed
as he held the small boy, rocking gently, while Rodie released the pain of
his long held secret.

When Rodie's crying finally calmed down to sniffles, Jim gently
raised his head to look in his beautiful eyes. "What your father did to
you was wrong Rodie. What he did to you is called rape, and it is a crime.
Sex can be something very special between two people, but only if it is
done right. However, a young boy like you is not ready for that yet, your
body is still growing, and you can be hurt very bad, very easily. I
promise that I will never do something like that. I will not do something
that will hurt you Rodie. Now, if you will let me, I want to check to see
if what he did hurt you real bad down there ok." Jim explained carefully
to him. Rodie nodded his head slowly then slipped out of Jim's lap and
stood in front of him. Jim carefully pulled Rodie's boxer down and had him
step out of them. He then had Rodie bend over and examined his small pink
anus. A wave of anger washed over him as he saw the scars from the deep
fissures Rodie's father had caused to the little pink anus. Seeing the
surprised expression on Rodie's face, Jim told Rodie that he was done. He
realized that Rodie was sensing his anger, and he quickly got his emotions
under control. He then helped Rodie put his boxers back on and had him
stand still while he applied lotion on the remaining sunburn. He helped
Rodie to finish dressing then looked at him; "you think you're ready to go
and see your mom now surf boy?" Jim asked him. The tension in Rodie's
face had eased away and he nodded his head in agreement. "Ok surf boy, we
can keep this as our own secret for right now all right?" Jim said to the
imp who instantly brightened up at that suggestion. Jim reached out his
hand and waited until Rodie took it in his own before opening the door and
walking out to the kitchen where Cathy was drinking coffee and reading the
paper. Jim made himself and Rodie a cup of coffee then sat down opposite
Cathy. "It says that it is going to be humid but clear and sunny today,"
Cathy exclaimed. "Well, Rodie's sunburn is much better and between rubbing
him down with lotion and SPF 45 sunscreen he should be ok. That way we can
continue your boarding lessons surf boy." Jim said while looking at Rodie
vigorously nodding in agreement. "That sounds good Jim but with one
exception." Cathy replied then turning towards Rodie. "I want no
arguments from you young man, we can go to the beach, but only for a few
hours. You really haven't been exposed to this kind of sun before and that
is why you burned so bad, understand." After pout for a few moments Rodie
agreed with a sullen look on his face. Cathy compromised by asking if they
could try the Jacuzzi this afternoon and Rodie immediately brightened up
when Jim agreed. Jim then got some bowls and put out the cereal boxes
while Cathy got the milk and silverware.

Once they finished their breakfast, Cathy sent Rodie over to the
trailer to get their swim suits and towels, while she helped Jim bring up
the chairs and pack the cooler. Once Rodie was gone, she looked at Jim,
"is everything alright with Rodie, Jim?" She asked with a concerned look.
"I believe so for now Cathy, I can't say anything because I promised him I
would not. I think in his own time he will tell you everything, but for
now all I can say is that Rodie has gone through way more than someone his
age should ever have to deal with." Jim replied in an honest voice. "I
understand fully Jim so I will not push, and I do want to thank you for
what you have done for Rodie so far." Cathy told him with genuine
appreciation in her voice. They finished loading the cooler as Rodie came
up the stairs carrying the boogie board with their towels and swimsuits.
Jim took the board and leaned it next to the door as Rodie gave Cathy her
stuff. They were headed back towards the bedrooms to change, when the
telephone rang. Jim answered and spoke for a few minutes in a business
tone of voice before hanging up. He then entered the bedroom and saw Rodie
patiently sitting on the bed waiting for him.

"Why aren't you naked yet surf boy?" Jim asked with a confused look as
he closed the door. "I wanted to know if it is ok if I wear this Jim?"
Rodie said while holding up the sexiest and skimpiest Speedo he had ever
seen. Jim looked at Rodie and said, "well why don't you show me what it
looks like on you first surf boy." With that, Rodie quickly got naked and
slipped on the Speedo. Jesus! Did he look sexy in that thing, Jim thought
as he stared while Rodie posed with his hands behind his head. It was deep
red in color, and only had a one-inch thick band on the sides connecting
the "V" shaped cloth covering Rodie's front and back. With a slight
tremble in his hand, Jim lightly touched the exposed skin on Rodie's hips.
"You look beautiful in it Rodie" Jim answered in an awed voice, which made
Rodie smile. Only a boy like Rodie could wear a Speedo like that Jim
thought to himself. Jim chose a pair of board trunks and was getting ready
to put them on when Rodie stepped beside him and picked up a pair of black
Speedo with a red racing stripe and stood looking at Jim. "I haven't worn
those since the accident Rodie" Jim said pointing to the long scar that ran
from his hip to his knee. "Will you wear them if I ask you to Jim?" Rodie
squeaked with a shy look on his face. "I'll wear them if you want me to
surf boy" Jim responded taking the Speedo from his hand. He changed into
the Speedo while Rodie watched then he assumed the same pose Rodie had used
making the boy giggle before opening the door and leading him out to the
kitchen.

"Oh my, don't you two look sexy" Cathy exclaimed as they walked
into the kitchen holding hands. "I used to, until the mad slasher got a
hold of me Cathy" Jim replied. "Well I believe your wrong, those scars
only add to your sex appeal Jim, if you ask me." Cathy admitted. "Well if
we are ready then, let's go." Jim said as they loaded up everything and
headed towards the beach. The beach was more crowded than usual, and
people openly stared, with some even pointing towards Rodie as he made his
way across the sand. Sensing these emotions, Rodie hugged himself even
closer to Jim as they made their way to the spot where they sat the chairs.
It was much breezier today than the previous days, which made the surf much
bigger. Jim followed Rodie to the edge of the damp sand then stopped,
"looks like it is rougher today Rodie. The undertow will be stronger and I
am sure that the riptides are much stronger as well, so be careful. I will
be close by if you need me so all you have to do is holler for me ok surf
boy?" Jim asked while looking at Rodie. "Yeah Jim, it's much worse
today." Rodie replied while watching the large waves breaking onto the
sand. He then looked at Jim with a worried expression on his face, "you'll
stay close to me, won't you?" "You bet surf boy. Come here and let me
attach your tether." Once the tether was secure, they slowly waded out
into the surf. As they got farther out, and reached the point where the
waves were beginning to break, the water was to Jim's shoulders. The water
was too deep for Rodie now so he got on the board and paddled along side
Jim as they went farther out from shore. Rodie let four larger waves pass
before paddling fast to catch the momentum of the next smaller wave. Jim
watched as Rodie rode the wave into shore like an old pro and then,
squealing with delight, Rodie picked up the board and headed back out
towards Jim.

Jim stayed out with Rodie for over an hour watching, as Rodie
gained more and more confidence with each ride, before telling him that he
needed to rest awhile. When he saw Rodie's face fall a little Jim said,
"hey surf boy you are doing great and don't need me right now. I really
have to rest ok, just remember what we went over, I will be right there
watching, so holler if you need me ok." Rodie stared intently at Jim for a
few moments before he replied. "Ok Jim," Jim giving Rodie a quick hug
before he headed in to shore. Limping slowly to where Cathy was sitting
and easing himself down into the chair next to her, Jim looked over and saw
her concerned look. "I'm ok Cathy, I just haven't used many of these
muscles in a long time. Now I have a good reason to use them but they are
protesting as usual." Jim said with a smile. They watched as Rodie
played, he then met a slightly younger boy with a board who was sitting
about 15 yards away with his father and older brother, and they became fast
friends. They enjoyed themselves for a good hour, racing each other into
shore. It was getting close to noon when Jim heard Rodie start screaming
for him. Looking up from the paper he was reading, he saw Rodie waving his
arm frantically and screaming for help. As Jim rushed to the edge of the
water ignoring the pain in his back and legs, he could see that Rodie was
not in trouble but his playmate was struggling to stay afloat in a riptide.

Quickly diving into the water, Jim swam powerfully towards the
struggling boy ignoring the pain that shot through his legs. Reaching him,
he quickly grabbed the boy and clutched him to his chest while leaning back
so the young boy's head and shoulders were out of the water. Once he had
calmed the boy down, Jim had the boy hold on around his neck piggyback
style, he could feel the strong current pulling them out farther from the
shore as he tread water. Looking around to get his bearings, Jim saw that
they had already been pulled about a quarter mile away from the shore.
They had also been pushed almost the same distance along the beach, Jim
then spotted the lifeguard waving at him. After waving back, Jim turned
and started swimming powerfully toward the shore, but at an angle with the
current until he had them both out of the riptide. The boy's father, older
brother, and the lifeguard were pacing Jim on the beach, followed by Rodie
and Cathy not far behind them. They watched Jim as he angled almost
parallel to the shore until he broke out of the riptide. Pausing to get
his bearings once again Jim then made his way into the beach with the young
boy clinging weakly to his neck. Once he reached the surf, Jim struggled
to carry the boy out of the water as his legs and lower back screamed with
pain and fatigue. Finally reaching the sandy beach, Jim slowly sank to his
knees breathing heavily as the boy's father picked up his son and carried
him up onto the sand before lying him down. Rodie ran to Jim and quickly
dropped to his knees hugging him as the lifeguard quickly checked the other
boy over for injuries. Jim watched them until the young boy was rolled
onto his side where he vomited out a moderate amount of seawater and
started to cry weakly as his father cradled him in his arms.

After a short time, the boy's father stood up and walked over to
where Cathy and Rodie knelt at Jim's sides. He looked at Cathy, then
Rodie, before asking Jim if he was ok. He then helped Rodie and Cathy lift
Jim to his feet before shaking Jim's hand. "I want to thank you for saving
my son's life Mister," the man said as he and Jim hands. Still breathing
heavy trying to catch his breath, Jim replied, "Jim, the name's Jim Chavez,
and your welcome, is he ok now?" Jim could see the young boy who continued
to whimper a little while being held by his older brother. The lifeguard
stood and turned to them, "Yeah, it looks like he will be fine, he is just
frightened and exhausted is all. Thank you Jim for rescuing him, I see
that you are still the strongest swimmer on the beach." The powerful
looking lifeguard said to Jim as he shook his hand like an old friend.
Turning to the boy's father, the lifeguard said, "You Sir, were in luck
today. Not only is this person one of our wealthiest residents here, but
he was also my rescue instructor six years ago. In addition to being one
of the best US Navy search and rescue divers on the East Coast. They teach
whole classes about the rescues he preformed while in the service." The
lifeguard explained while Jim blushed slightly. "It is an honor to meet
you Jim," the young boy's father said as he shook Jim's hand. "Thank you
again for saving my son's life." Jim noticed that Rodie had quietly
slipped beside him and was now staring up at him with a look of awe on his
adorable face. Cathy stood close as a small crowd started gathering around
them. "Your welcome. However, while I appreciate your gratitude, I think
your thanking the wrong person. It was this young man here who saved your
son's life, his name is Rodie" Jim said with pride as he put his arm around
Rodie's slim shoulders. "He was the one who saw your son was in trouble,
and called for help. If he had not done that, your son would have been a
quarter mile away from shore before anyone realized it and he quite
possibly could have drown before anyone could reach him. So this is the
person you should be thanking instead of me." The man turned and extended
his hand towards Rodie, "Thank you, Rodie. I am John Winters and that is
my son Eric who was saved by your actions today." The man said while
shaking Rodie's small hand, he then pointed to the young teen that was
standing beside him still hugging his little brother close. "And this is
my eldest son, Mark," as the older boy reached over and shook Rodie's small
hand. "I know he can be a pain in my butt most of the time, but if
something ever happened to him I would really miss him, so thanks Dude."

Seeing the pain on Jim's face, and noticing the visible scars on
his body, Mr. Winters asked, "are you ok Mr. Chavez?" At that moment Cathy
stepped close to Jim and looked at his face. Seeing the mask of pain
covering Jim's face she said, "no he's not Mr. Winters. Jim is disabled,
does anyone have a chair so he can sit down?" Cathy asked of the gathered
crowd. "I have a better idea, let's get him to the guard truck," the
lifeguard answered pointing towards the yellow rescue vehicle a few yards
away. With Mr. Winters and the lifeguard assisting him, Jim slowly made
his way to the vehicle and sat inside while Rodie stood close by him with
an extremely worried expression on his small face. "AH, that's much better
now" Jim said, "Rodie can you run to my house and get my braces please?"
Rodie was about to reply when the lifeguard offered to drive Jim there.
"First let me put out a warning for the riptides Jim" the lifeguard said
then speaking into a walkie-talkie for a few minutes. "Cathy, can Rodie
come with me?" Jim asked. "Of course Jim, I will get our stuff and see
you back at the house," Cathy replied. "My sons and I will help you if you
want, Mrs. Chavez I presume?," Mr. Winters graciously offered. "Oh I'm
sorry, it is Ms Leftwich, Mr. Winters. Jim is a close friend to my son and
I. And yes I would appreciate the help," Cathy answered. "I apologize Ms
Leftwich, now if you will show us where you were at, we will gladly help
you carry your things back" Mr. Winters replied. Rodie climbed into the
vehicle and sat next to Jim. He then tilted his head a little as he looked
intently at Jim, "it's bad Jim, isn't it," Rodie said in a quiet voice
while wincing slightly as he sensed the pain. "Right now it is Rodie, but
I will be ok in a little while. I did not even think about the pain when I
heard you screaming for help. Don't ever scare me like that ok," Jim said
solemnly to the worried boy next to him. "I'm sorry Jim, but Eric was in
trouble, and you said to holler for you if there was trouble." Rodie
explained while looking down and nervously clasping his hands together.
"Hey, it is ok Rodie, you did the right thing. I did not mean to sound
upset or disappointed in you, ok surf boy. I was just scared because I
thought something had happened to you is all," Jim explained quickly seeing
the look on Rodie's face. Rodie reached up and hugged Jim gently like Jim
had done to him many times over the last couple of days.

Acutely aware of his surroundings, Rodie displayed his affection in
the appearance of concern for someone close to him but not in a sexual way.
Once they reached Jim's house he carefully guided Jim up the stairs and
into the house while the lifeguard assisted. Once seated in his recliner,
Rodie escorted the lifeguard outside, thanking him in his polite boyish
manner. He then retrieved Jim's braces and undershirt, and with
affectionate tenderness helped Jim put them on. Again staring intently at
Jim for a few moments, he quickly left the room only to return a few
minutes later with Jim's medication and a glass of water. As Jim took the
medicine from him, he pondered Rodie's silent gifted ability with a little
awe. After taking his medicine, and waiting for the pain to slowly
subside, Jim turned his attention back towards his worried young charge.
"I'm feeling much better now Rodie, thank you," Jim said as he looked at
Rodie who was kneeling beside him. Seeing the frightened uncertainty in
his small face as he still sensed Jim's pain, Jim opened his arms and said,
"come here beautiful." Rodie carefully climbed into Jim's lap and
welcoming embrace, laying his head on Jim's covered chest as Jim nuzzled
him while kissing his forehead. "I'm ok Rodie. Do not worry about me, I
won'tleave you, ok," Jim said softly as Rodie nestled closer to him. "You
promise?" Jim heard the quiet reply filled with fear. Knowing now the
crushing apprehension Rodie had of losing the one thing he has wanted for
so long in his short life, Jim replied, "I promise, Rodie. I will never
leave you my beautiful surf boy." Feeling Rodie relax as he cuddled him,
Jim heard the sliding door open in the kitchen as Cathy entered. As Cathy
and Mr. Winters entered the living room followed by his two sons, Cathy
said, "Aww, isn't this sweet." Jim looked over at her and replied, "Rodie
was a little upset that I hurt myself, I was just easing his concerns a
little." With that said Rodie sat up and shyly wiped his eyes with the
backs of his hands before slipping down out of Jim's lap and hugging his
mom. "Please, everyone have a seat, I would stand and greet you but I am
quite stiff and sore at the moment," Jim said warmly.

"Hello again Mr. Chavez, this is a nice house you have here,"
Mr. Winters said in a cordial tone of voice. "Please, call me Jim. I'm
not really into formalities now that I am disabled," Jim replied. "Very
well Jim, but only if you call me John" Mr. Winters answered. "Ok John,
now please all of you have a seat," Jim invited again. "Hold on boys, your
wet and sandy still," John said before his sons could sit. Turning towards
Jim again, "I was wondering if we could use your bathroom to change first
Jim, so we don't ruin your furniture. We live across from the go-cart
track in one of the condominiums, and it is a good trek home from here."
"Of course, how silly of me, I should have thought of that myself. The
main bathroom is just down the hall and the towels are in the closet right
across from the door. And Rodie can show you the bathroom in my room,
since he knows where everything is." Jim stated, as he used the controls
to lift the recliner until he was able to stand. "That will be fine, we
can take turns using the main bath" John replied with a smile. Rodie
whispered something to Cathy, she then turned to John. "Rodie said that
Eric could shower and change with him in Jim's bathroom if that's all right
with you," Cathy said politely to which John replied, "I don't see why not,
Eric go on with Rodie and get cleaned up." "Mark, you can share the
bathroom with me. Now, if you would excuse us for a time we shall get
cleaned up." John said and turned towards the bathroom. His son Mark
followed.

Giggling together Eric and Rodie headed back into Jim's bedroom and
closed the door. Jim looked towards Cathy with a questioning look, "Oh I'm
going to run over and change Jim. I need to get Rodie some fresh clothes
anyway." "Sure Cathy, I will try and keep him out of trouble while your
gone," Jim said while he winked at her. "And just who will keep you out of
trouble might I ask?" Cathy replied while giving Jim a raised eyebrow
look, "Rodie will of course!" Jim said with a huge smile on his face.
"Men!" Cathy said in an exasperated voice while throwing up her arms and
shaking her head before she looked at Jim and laughed. She quickly
gathered their dirty clothes and left. Jim limped back into the bedroom
and grabbed a change of clothes. He heard a lot of giggling coming from
his bathroom. He crept quietly over and listened at the door for a moment,
"shhh"(Eric) "I can't help it...it tickles" (Rodie). "So you tickled
mine"...(giggles from Eric). "Yours looks so kewl though...it don't look
like mine at all"...(Rodie), more giggling, "look...yours is bigger than
mine...but mine's fatter", Eric said in a hushed voice. Jim smiled as he
pictured Rodie and Eric comparing their little boy cocklets as he heard
this, and he quietly limped out of the room making sure to close the
bedroom door. He then grabbed a towel from the linen closet and slowly
made his way downstairs to the Jacuzzi where there was another shower. Jim
had the stairs in his house specially designed because of his disabilities.
They were wider and not as steep as normal stairs, which made it much
easier for him to climb or descend them.

Jim quickly rinsed off then dressed and made it back upstairs just
as Cathy was returning. She handed him a clean pair of white bikini
briefs, new cotton shorts, and an extra large shirt with Scooby Doo on the
back for Rodie to wear, once he finished adjusting the various straps to
his braces. Jim carried them back into his room and paused outside the
door. The shower was off now, so he knocked on the door, it was quiet for
a couple of moments before he heard little feet scampering into the shower
and then Rodie's voice. "Eric, it's only Jim, it's ok, he's really kewl."
He heard Rodie start to unlock the door then stopped, "Are you alone Jim?"
Rodie asked through the door, "Yeah surf boy, it's just me" Jim replied.
He heard the doorknob rattle, then the door opened allowing him entry.
Rodie was half hiding behind the door while Eric was hiding behind the
frosted glass door, both of them were naked. "I brought you some clean
clothes your mom brought over." Jim told Rodie as he handed over the
clothes. Giving the boy a questioning look, he said, "why are you two still
in here?" "Um...well Eric has sunburn too and I was wondering if you could
put some lotion on us Jim" Rodie replied with a slight blush. "Come here
Eric ok" Jim said to the younger boy. Using both hands to cover his groin,
Eric shyly stepped out of the shower and stood in front of Jim. Jim turned
him around slowly observing that the boy was burn almost as bad as Rodie
was on his chest, upper back, and shoulders. "Ok boys, wait here for a few
minutes" Jim said to the two cherubs. Jim closed the door as he left the
room and then knocked on the main bathroom door. "Yes?" John replied.
"It's me Jim, I was about to rub Rodie's sunburn down with after sun
lotion, and noticed that Eric is burned almost as bad as Rodie. Do you
mind if I go ahead and rub him down also when I do Rodie, John?" Jim asked
through the door. "No I don't mind a bit Jim, go right ahead if it will
help Eric." John replied. Jim went back into the bedroom and grabbed the
bottle of Banana Boat before knocking on the bathroom door. Rodie quickly
opened the door to let Jim in, then shut it, and locked it as soon as he
stepped in.

Jim sat down on the toilet lid and said, "Alright you two, lets get
this done with ok. Eric you first." Eric moved until he was standing in
front of Jim again, still covering his groin with both hands as he looked
shyly at his feet. Rodie moved beside him and gently tugged on his arms,
"it's ok Eric, really, he likes us" Rodie said seriously to the younger
boy. Looking at Rodie, then at Jim, the young boy allowed Rodie to pull
his hands away so he was standing uncovered as he faced Jim. Jim looked at
the young boy from head to toe. He was almost as tall as Rodie but his
body had a stocky appearance. He had light brown hair in a bowl style cut.
A rounded face with dimples in his cheeks when he smiled, and he was
missing a front tooth on the top. Freckles were splashed over his face and
upper chest, which was more defined than Rodie's chest. While he was not
fat or even chubby, he had a small potbelly with a deep, Innie, belly
button. His small erect two-inch penis was uncut like Jim's, and while
thicker than Rodie's, it was still no thicker than Jim's thumb. His tiny
scrotum was smaller than Rodie's, and was pulled up tight to his body,
while the foreskin covering the little head was stretched just enough so
that his tiny pee slit was exposed. He had a white, firm bubble butt, and
short stocky legs. "My you are a cute one, aren't you Eric" Jim said while
grinning at him, unable to resist giving his tiny pecker a gentle squeeze
which got him a big, toothy smile in return. "Come on and let's get this
on you so you will feel better" Jim told him as he poured lotion into his
hand. Jim thoroughly rubbed the small boy down while occasionally tickling
him on his ribs, stomach, and knees. Once he finished with his front Jim
turned him around and applied lotion to his backside and pinching his
bubble butt, which made Eric squeal with laughter. Once finished, he
helped him to step into his small, white briefs and soccer shorts then
helped him with his Sponge Bob shirt. He gave his hair a quick brushing
then sent him on his way. Eric turned and gave Jim a tight hug and said
before leaving. "Thanks Jim, Rodie was right, you are nice."

Rodie closed the door and stood in front of Jim, who proceeded to
apply the lotion to his chest. "So you like your new friend?" Jim asked
while he gently rubbed Rodie's chest. "Yeah I do, Eric is nice...even if
he is only nine. Thanks for helping him Jim, he's my friend...and I don't
have that many friends now." Rodie replied with a sad look on his face.
"Well that is because everything was all messed up Rodie. They are not now
though, are they? I think now you will have many friends, don't you? Look
how fast you made friends with Eric. I also will bet Mark likes you as
well." Jim said as he gently rubbed Rodie's body with the lotion. Rodie
seemed the think this over as Jim finished applying lotion to his body. He
then turned around, hugged Jim tightly around the neck, and whispered, "I
will now...because I have you Jim." Jim held him for a few moments then
kissed him on the nose. "Come on, let's get you dressed so we can go
entertain our guests this afternoon, surf boy," Jim said to Rodie with a
smile. Rodie giggled in response before pausing, he then put both of his
small hands on Jim's cheeks before bringing his lips to Jim's mouth. Jim
accepted the gentle kiss when he felt Rodie's tiny tongue touching his
lips. Jim parted them slightly and met Rodie's small tongue with his own.
When Jim broke the kiss finally, both of them were breathing heavily.
Rodie's face was flush with excitement as he felt Jim's desire for him.
"Not yet my love. It's not the right time, but I promise soon ok?" Rodie
looked at him seriously then replied, "remember you promised." "I will, I
love you Rodie, my love" Jim said while hugging the naked boy to him. "I
love you too, Jim" Rodie answered hugging him back.

Jim helped Rodie dress, then ran a comb through his long hair.
"With all your hair, Rodie, I should call you 'Shaggy'." Jim said with a
smile, and Rodie replied, "if I'm 'Shaggy' then your 'Scooby'." "Well all
I can say to that is 'Roooby Roooby Roo!'" Replied Jim with a goofy grin.
Giggling, Rodie said, "your silly!" They both laughed and headed out to
the living room where the others were waiting. Jim sat in the recliner,
and then Rodie quickly scrambled up into his lap. "Now that we are all
looking civilized again, would any of you care for something to drink?"
Jim asked while looking at them. "A beer, if you do not mind Jim" John
replied. "I would join you John but I just took my pain medication. I do
not like to mix the two, but you feel free to have one. Rodie, why don't
you take Eric and Mark with you and bring John a beer and Cokes for your
mom and me. That way you all can get what you want as long as it isn't
alcoholic." Jim suggested lightly to Rodie who nodded his head before
slipping off Jim's lap. "Come on guys" Rodie said to Mark and Eric as they
stood up and followed him into the kitchen. "You have quite a boy there
Cathy" John said as he watched Rodie scamper off out of the room with his
sons in tow. "Thank you John, but he isn't always this well behaved. He
can be as stubborn as a mule when he sets his mind to something," Cathy
explained with a small laugh. "It's a man thing Cathy, you wouldn't
understand really", John replied in an offbeat tone which made them all
laugh. Rodie returned with Mark and Eric, he handed a Coke to Jim and set
his on the table beside Jim's. He hesitated though, looking at Jim first,
before shyly walking over and offering the beer he was carrying to John.
"Thank you Rodie" John said to him as he took the proffered beer from his
small hand although not making contact. Rodie blushed nervously as he
stared at John with his head slightly tilted before scampering back over
into Jim's lap. They chatted for a while about different things, learning
that John was a real estate broker and single parent who had lived in the
area for a year now. Mark was 14 and quite a good artist according to his
father. Eric on the other hand, had similar interests as Rodie, liking
biking, kiting, surfing, and skate boarding. Eric piped up "Rodie, can I
see you kites?" "Sure, mom we will be outside ok" Rodie said slipping off
Jim's lap. Then all three boys hurried out of the house. "So are you
planning to move here Cathy?" John asked. "Well technically we are on
vacation right now, I have to go back home after the 4th to check up on
things then we will be back for the rest of the summer. I don't plan on
making any long term decisions until after we get back although I think
Rodie would love living here." Cathy said while Jim casually watched John.
There was something about him that made Jim uneasy, and he saw how Rodie
had reacted when giving him his beer.

Thinking he was becoming paranoid finally, after some thought, Jim
suggested they go outside since he was feeling cooped up. They agreed and
went out to the sundeck. Jim could see the boys over at Cathy's trailer as
Rodie was showing them his various kites and windsocks. Jim followed Cathy
and John down the steps, but lagged behind a little because of his cane and
leg brace, which helped him to walk, but did little for the pain. He was
almost 20 feet behind them limping slowly when Cathy came up to Rodie.
Rodie had his back towards Jim and was talking to his mom, Eric, and Mark
when John approached and laid his hand on Rodie's shoulder. Jim watched as
Rodie's head twisted around until he was staring at John. His small face
suddenly drained of its color and he lunged away from the hand touching
him. "Don't touch me!" Rodie said in a frightened voice as he backed away
from John, crushing one of his smaller kites under his foot. "Rodie, how
dare you say that, what is your problem young man! You come over here and
apologize right now you hear me!" Cathy exclaimed as Rodie turned and ran
towards Jim. Jim caught him by his arms and looked him in the face,
Rodie's eyes shone with terror as Jim studied his small face. He could
feel his small body shaking and his skin felt clammy, knowing something was
wrong, but not understanding what was happening with Rodie. "Go to my
room, close the door, and wait for me...now go" Jim instructed quietly as
he released his hold on the small boy. Thinking quickly, he turned and
approached Cathy and John as fast as he could. "I am sorry John, but Rodie
is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from an assault. That is
why Cathy brought him here hoping that a change of scenery would help in
his recovery. So please accept our apologies for his unprovoked actions
and I hope you understand." Jim said as he faced John with Cathy behind
him. By this time, Cathy had realized that she did not know what was
happening so she played along with Jim's fabrication. "I am so sorry John,
see, Rodie was jumped by one of the local gangs at his school. They really
roughed him up and he has had nightmares since. I hoped bringing him here
would ease his mind a little and stop these panic attacks. However, I see
now that he still needs more time and maybe more counseling," Cathy said
with mock sincerity. "I understand quite well Cathy. It is one of the
reasons I moved my family here myself. I do hope young Rodie will recover
soon. Eric and Mark, you can come visit when you like once he is feeling
better. I think it is time for us to go home now, since it has been an
eventful day. It has been a pleasure meeting you both Cathy, and Jim" John
said in a pleasant tone, then excusing himself and walking towards the
high-rise building in the distance while followed by his sons.

Jim watched them as they left, once they were out of hearing
distance, Jim turned to Cathy. "Can Rodie just sense these feelings from
anywhere or is there something else?" Jim asked in a hushed voice. "I
see, no, he seems to be able to feel the emotions around him in a
generalized way. He can tell that someone likes him or dislikes him when
he is around them, but he cannot tell beyond general feelings unless they
are extremely strong. However, if he makes physical contact with someone
it becomes much more accurate. He can tell exactly what they are feeling
and why. He knows that someone likes him, why they like him, and what they
wish to do with him. In addition to how and why someone dislikes him, and
what the reasons are. I spoke to a paranormal expert about him once, but
never took Rodie to see him. He told me that it sounded like Rodie was
empathic until he made physical contact with someone, then with that
contact his 'sense' became more telepathic than empathic. Is that why he
reacted like he did Jim? What did I miss?" Cathy asked worriedly as they
quickly headed back to Jim's house. "I don't know Cathy, all I know is
that he was terrified at that moment when I caught hold of him. I also
know that he was running to me because he felt I could protect him for some
reason. I cannot explain it, but I knew that something was wrong when
Rodie handed John his beer. It was as if I was feeling what Rodie was
sensing at that moment. Does Rodie know anything at all about this Cathy?"
Jim responded as they climbed the steps to the sundeck and went inside.
"No, he doesn't Jim, he knows he is special and can feel things others
can't. He also learned at an early age that what he could do made some
people dislike him so he hide's it very well. Jim, he does not know I
spoke to anyone about him, and I do not even think he knows the words we
would use to name his talents. So please do not say anything about them
because it will only confuse him."

"Cathy, let me talk to him first please. I will bring him out to the
living room when we are done. However, I want you to tell him everything
you know about his abilities. I know he is only ten, but he is very
intelligent. He does not understand any of the things that are happening
to him. Moreover, I believe that by not telling him anything, it is only
making things much more difficult for him. Once he knows why these things
happen, he will learn how to control himself to prevent situations like
now. So you promise me that you will tell him." Jim said in a tone, which
was clearly not a question. "I will tell him everything Jim, I promise
Jim." Cathy said while nodding in agreement, and went into the living room
while Jim proceeded back to his bedroom. Jim paused to knock on the door
and say it was he before opening it and going inside. Looking around the
room and not seeing Rodie immediately startled Jim for a moment while he
scanned the room until he saw Rodie's small frame huddled in the corner.
Rodie was sitting on the floor beside Jim's desk with his knees drawn up as
he was quietly crying into his hands. Jim went over and sat in his
high-backed chair at the desk then reached out to Rodie, and slowly lifting
the boy's chin. "You want to tell me what happened?" Jim asked gently.
Once his eyes focused on Jim, Rodie quickly climbed into his lap burying
his face in Jim's shoulder. "I...am...sorry...Jim. I
couldn't...help...it." Rodie sobbed into his shoulder. "It's ok my love.
He will not hurt you now, I made him go away. Calm down, and talk to me
ok." Jim said while holding Rodie close to him and rubbing his back.
After a few minutes, Rodie calmed down enough to explain to Jim why he
reacted the way he did. He said that he could feel John's desire for him,
but could not explain why it made him feel so nervous. However, when John
touched him everything came to him so fast, and so strong like it was
flashing pictures and feelings going through his head all at once. They
were strange feeling different, and he could only recognize some of those
pictures and feelings. Those were the ones that he felt, right before,
each time when his father hurt him. Those feelings scared him so much that
he almost peed himself, and he had to run away. He could not think of
anything else except running, and the thought just kept flashing in his
head "Go to Jim!"

Jim thought this through for a few minutes realizing that he had said
it correctly to John, that Rodie was suffering from PTS Syndrome. The
explanation for this panic attack verified his belief. Jim then looked at
Rodie seriously, silently trying to let him know his true feelings for him
before speaking. Speaking slowly, Jim said, "I know I promised you Rodie.
Too not say anything to your mother, and I will not break my promise.
However, I think you have to tell her everything that happened with your
father. I know you are frightened to tell her, but you have to trust her
because she needs to know what happened. That is the only way she can
protect you. Your mother became angry with you because she did not
understand as I did. This is very important, so I want you to be strong
for me, and go tell your mom everything. Both of you need to talk to each
other, and I promise you that no matter what you say to her, she will never
leave you." Jim said to Rodie knowing that was his biggest fear. At
first, Rodie shook his head no, but as Jim explained why he should, Rodie
began to understand that Jim was right. After sitting in Jim's lap with
his small head laying on Jim's shoulder thinking about what Jim had told
him Rodie finally spoke. "Ok Jim, I will do it, I will tell her
everything...for you" Rodie said in a very quiet voice. "I am so proud of
you Rodie, I love you my beautiful surf boy" Jim responded gently hugging
him close then slipping him off his lap to the floor. Jim stood up and
holding Rodie's hand, walked out to the living room where Cathy waited.
Rodie looked first at Jim, then at his mom, and said quietly as tears
welled up in his eyes, "mom...I...I...need to tell you
something...about...daddy." Rodie's voice sounded small, like that of a
boy half his age. Seeing the anguish in his face, Cathy became very
somber. With an understanding look in her eyes said, "its ok honey, I need
to tell you something too. Come here baby, let's go home and talk." She
held open her arms and gently picked Rodie up as he came to her. Cathy
stood and gave Jim an appreciative smile, though she did not fully
understanding what was going on. She gently carried Rodie outside and back
to their trailer. Jim watched with compassion as she carried Rodie inside
and closed the door.  He wished that he could do something more for Rodie;
he wished he could erase all of the pain that Rodie had been through. Jim
stood there knowing that this was the best way. Rodie had to get through
this with his mother's help right now. Once Cathy knew the truth, Jim
believed, she could fix things. She would help him past this, and she
would finally understand her ex husband's cruelty in what he had done to
his son. Jim felt that he really needed a drink, maybe two or more, he
thought as he decided to go out. He needed to think and wanted to see
Eddie for awhile. He felt boxed in; he had been hiding himself, and now he
no longer felt like hiding. He could not hide anymore, he thought, not if
he wanted to have this young, beautiful, longhaired boy in his life.
