CHAPTER 21

Sam and Luca had little time to spend with each other during that week.
Between Sam's last days at the store and Luca's mid-term exams, the two
only had dinner together one night.

"Can we go to Vinos next week?" asked Sam.

"Actually, I was thinking the same thing," replied Luca, "but I do not
think we would be by ourselves. Leo and Stam had talked about spending
break there as well and I think they have invited a few others. Do you
still want to go?"

"Yes, I think so," replied Sam. "We can still be together - we could ditch
them from time to time and have some time alone. I have missed you these
past few weeks and I want to spend some time together before Cristof takes
over my life."

"I think Leo mentioned that Cristof was coming to Vinos as well, later in
the week."

"I don't mind, as long as you are there."

"Would you like to ask David to join us?"

"I don't know. I mean then I'd feel obligated to be with him which would
keep us from being together."

"Whatever you wish. There might be someone there he could befriend. It
might help him get over you."

"You know about that?" asked Sam, surprised.

"Sam, dear," replied Luca, smiling, "You really do not understand how
desirable you are. I can tell when I see David with you that he is
smitten."

"He is, but he is dealing with it. We have talked about it. I don't know
if I like having that kind of effect on anyone."

"Well, you can not help who you are."

"I love you," said Sam.

"I love you," replied Luca.

Vinos was a small private island owned by the Kostopoulos family. The
island held a magnificent family vacation home complex as well as a
vineyard and winery, one of many, operated by the family empire. Sam loved
to spend time there and he thought it was one of the most beautiful places
he'd seen. He treasured the seclusion of the island and the freedoms it
offered. The home was magnificent, with five individual suites, each with
it's own balcony swimming pool, and eight additional luxurious bedrooms.
There was a movie theater and game room in the lower level. The second
level held an enormous great room, two dining rooms and a huge kitchen.
There was a huge patio and pool, mostly covered by the third level, but
open to the sea, which overlooked a cliff facing north and a tremendous
view of the island of Mykonos. The family had a small fleet of boats,
ranging from small sport boats to an 80-foot yacht, moored at a dock below
the manor next to a private beach.

Sam ended up inviting David to come spend a few days. As it turned out,
Luca had to fly to Volos overnight one day, so Sam asked David to come and
keep him company. He had wanted to go with Luca, but Luca did not think it
was a good idea - a point of contention between them. The three of them
left Sunday morning and drove to the Thessolonica airport, where Miko was
waiting with the jet. They landed at the airport on Mykonos where they
switched to a small twin-prop plane. There was an airstrip on Vinos, but
the runway could not accommodate the jet. Luca was going to pilot the
small plane the short distance from Mykonos to Vinos. He had earned his
pilot's license earlier in the fall, but Sam had yet to fly in a plane
piloted by his partner.

David was in awe throughout the entire trip. Sam was used to the jet set
life that Luca and his family led, and smiled as David looked like a little
kid in an amusement park.

The boys arrived at the house from the airstrip around lunch time. The
weather was clear, but cool. The boys made their way up the stairs to the
great room, where they were greeted by Leon and Stam, who had flown out two
days earlier.

Stam was actually getting ready to leave as they were coming in. He was
flying the other plane at the airstrip to Athens to pick up two friends of
Dion's who were going to spend the week with them.

Sam, Luca, and David made their way up to the third floor, where the suites
were located across the front and sides of the home and the other bedrooms
were across the back.

Sam and Luca dropped their bags off in the first suite on the front side,
which they always used, and then they led David down the hall to the next
door, which led into one of three smaller suites across the center of the
house. The door entered into a small foyer, which led to a comfortable
sitting room with a couch, several overstuffed chairs, some small tables, a
small dinette set, and a desk. Off of the sitting room was a large bedroom
with a king size bed, two bureaus, and a walk-in closet. There was a door
from the bedroom, which led to a spacious bathroom that bordered the
outside front wall of the home. The wall was mostly glass, with French
doors leading out onto a small patio, terminating in a 10 foot by 15 foot
pool. The far side of the pool was the very edge of the home, which was
right up to the edge of a bluff. The bluff rose about 60 feet above the
white sand beach leading out to the water of the Aegean Sea, looking across
toward Mykonos.

The patio ran the length of the suite, with another set of French doors
leading into the sitting room, whose front was also mostly glass. The
patio made its way around the left side of the pool and out to the edge.

"Will this do, David?" asked Luca, totally serious. "I thought you would
prefer to room by yourself, so we will put the other guys in the next two
suites and Leon and Stam always use the other master suite at the far end."

"Oh my god, this is fucking amazing," said David. "Sorry, I've just never
seen anything like this. Thank you so much for inviting me."

"Sure, David. You are welcome here anytime. Hopefully you can come again
and stay longer. It is very comfortable in the warmer weather. You get
comfortable and come downstairs when you are ready and we can show the rest
of the place. Stam should be back with Daniel and Mykel in a few hours and
then we'll decide if we want to stay here or go to Mykonos for the evening.
The nightlife there is not too spectacular this time of year, but I know
some good restaurants."

Sam and Luca left David in his room and returned to their own suite. The
Master suite had a larger sitting room, similar to the one in David's
suite, with a small bar area. The ceiling was high, with fans and track
lighting. The front wall was all glass, top to bottom, with two doors
leading out onto the stone patio. Off the left side of the room was a
large bedroom with a sitting area and an oversized king bed, as well as
bureaus and a large walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom, accessible from either
room, was large as well, with a huge multi-headed tiled shower and a glass
front looking out on the patio. Outside the shower was a large jacuzzi tub
that also faced the glass wall of the patio, with a door leading outside
next to it.

Their patio had several pieces of comfortable look furniture, a table and
chairs. The stone deck surrounded a pool on three sides. The pool was
about 15 feet across and about 20 feet long. The far edged of the pool
bordered the edge of the house, like David's pool. Sam liked the fact that
he could lean on the far edge of the pool and look down over the bluff to
the beach below and across the water to the island, watching the boats on
the water. He wished it was warm enough to swim now, but the pool was
covered for the cooler weather. There was a small fire pit on the left
side of the patio with a supply of wood in a bin next to it.

Luca walked up behind Sam and wrapped his arms around him as he stood
looking out through the glass over the water.

"It has been too long since we made love," he said, pulling Sam back
against him. "What to you say we kill some time before the others arrive?"

"Mmm," said Sam, leaning back against him, "That sounds spectacular."
