SAM AND LUCA
CHAPTER 8

Sam woke up at 10:30, the light from the crisp cold day outside streaming
through the 3rd floor window of the apartment. He gently caressed the smooth
back of the sleeping form next to him. Ethan's head lay on Sam's chest and Sam
lay there for a few minutes enjoying the feel of bare skin on skin. A
melancholy peace pervaded his senses, as he soaked in the final moments of
intimacy with Ethan. It was bittersweet to him, knowing he would be leaving
Ethan in a few hours, but only because he was on his way to be with his true
love for good.

"I love you," Sam whispered very softly as he stroked Ethan's back. The two had
made love all night, finally falling asleep around 4:30.

After fifteen minutes of these thoughts, Sam gently roused Ethan, who stirred,
but simply burrowed himself deeper into Sam's embrace.

"Mmmm," Ethan finally murmured, "Do we have to get up? Can't we stay like this
all day?"

"I would if I could," replied Sam, "But I need to shower and finish packing.
Why don't you get you cute little ass out of bed and make us some coffee."

"You seemed to like my cute little ass well enough all last night," Ethan
quipped, picking his head up and looking up into Sam's eyes.

Looking into Ethan's eyes always caused Sam to melt. "Yes, your cute little ass
will always be special to me, but the car will be here to pick me up at 1:30."

"Oh alright," sighed Ethan, rolling out of the side of the bed.

Sam watched Ethan stroll across the room to the door, on his way to the kitchen.
He admired Ethan's slim, smooth lines, and, despite their marathon last night,
felt his cock stir a little at the sight of Ethan's sexy body. He disappeared
into the main room of the apartment, which was a combination kitchen and living
room. Sam rose from the bed and made his way to the bathroom to take a shower.

Sam let the hot water wash away the cobwebs from his mind. After five minutes,
as expected, the shower curtain opened, and in stepped Ethan, pressing his naked
body against Sam and folding into an all too familiar embrace.

"Damn it," he said, "I will miss you."

"Luca said Dion was planning on coming to visit you for awhile soon," said Sam.

"Yes, I know. I'm glad," replied Ethan, washing Sam's torso with the body wash.
"But he doesn't make me feel like you do."

"What time is your shoot today?" Sam asked.

"1:00, same place up on 57th," replied Ethan.

The two boys finished their shower, dried, and dressed. They sat and drank some
coffee and watched the news, before Sam went back in the bedroom to pack his
final bag. After some leftovers for lunch, Ethan put on his coat and threw
himself at Sam.

"You have a good flight and let me know when you get there," Ethan said,
squeezing Sam tight. "I love you, you know."

"I know, and I love you too. I will definitely be in touch soon. I hope you
can come visit us soon."

"OK," Ethan said, tearing himself away from Sam and trying to hide the tears in
his eyes. He leaned in and gave Sam a kiss on the lips. Their lips naturally
parted and they hugged and kissed each other for a short moment. Then Ethan
turned and, without any more words, left the apartment.

Sam was glad Ethan did not see the tears welling up in his eyes. He sat at the
kitchen table and allowed himself a minute to cry. He knew he was happy to
finally be going, but he regretted having to leave Ethan. His deep feelings for
his roommate were unexpected. As he got his emotions under control, he wondered
why he could not be with Ethan and Luca - all three together, sharing each
other. He supposed that was just not the way the world worked.

He spent the next hour moping around the apartment, packing some last minute
items. Sam amused himself by thinking that all his worldly belongings were
packed in three suitcases, one duffel bag, a few boxes, and one backpack.

As the hour wore on, he became more and more excited. Sam had made the trip to
Greece at least a dozen times in the past year and a half, but this time was
different. He was not just going for a week or a weekend. He was moving there
for good. There was no doubt in his mind that this was a permanent move. Sam's
parents, and even his friends, did not really believe it would last, but he knew
differently. He was starting college this summer and intended to find a means
of support, even though Luca maintained he did not need it.

Sam did not wait for the driver to call, he took his bags and packages and made
his way down to the front steps of the building. The cool air felt good to him,
as he waited about ten minutes for the black car to arrive. His things were
loaded and the car made it's way out of Manhattan toward Queens and the airport.

The driver drove to a small gate near a hangar on the west side of the airport.
Inside the gate, the car pulled up near a familiar-looking private jet, on which
Sam had flown many times before.

"Good afternoon, Master Sam," greeted Miko, the pilot, as Sam approached the
stairs to the cabin.

"Hello, Miko," replied Sam in Greek. "It is good to see you."

"Nice to see you again," replied the pilot, "We are ready to go as soon as
Stavros gets your bags."

The co-pilot was carry Sam's bags up the stairs as they spoke.

"Great," said Sam, "Let's get going, then."

Sam climbed into the plane and turned right into the cabin, which had been
configured with one comfortable looking lounge chair and a couch.

"I had a meal, some snacks, and drinks stocked in the galley for your flight.
Please help yourself," explained Miko as he entered the cabin behind Sam. "If
you have everything you need, Stavros and I will prepared to depart
immediately."

"I am fine, Miko, thank you. Let's get going."

Sam stowed his bags in the wardrobe, keeping his backpack out and strapping it
to the side of the chair. He then sat down and adjusted the chair to his
comfort, buckling the seat belt. Ten minutes later, Miko's voice came over the
PA.

"We are cleared to taxi. Please let me know if you require anything once we
have reached cruising altitude."

Sam's heart beat with excitement as the plane began moving him closer to his
destiny. Once the plane was in the air, Sam put on his headphones, reclined his
chair, and disappeared into his own world - the one at which he had finally
arrived.

As the plane climbed higher into the clear sky over the Atlantic, Sam closed his
eyes and allowed the lyrics of Jim Morrison to wash over him, purging him of his
former life. There were in fact few things, or people, for that matter, that he
would miss. He would miss his mom. Although she did not entirely approve of
Sam's new chosen life, she loved him and ultimately wanted him to be happy. He
briefly thought that eventually he might miss his father, but at this point in
time, they were somewhat estranged. He would miss his two best friends, Erik
and Julia. He and Erik have been friends since first grade and he was the only
one who fully accepted Sam's coming out and, in some respects, became a closer
friend through the process. Sam, Erik, and Julia had been inseparable in the
past year. He would miss their friendship and comfort.

But he knew he also had friends in Greece. Besides Luca, there was Luca's
brother Leon and friend Stam. Stam was a little much until you got used to him.
He is perpetually horny and will try to fuck any good looking boy. But he also
has a big heart, as Sam eventually learned. Stam grew up in a poor family and
works to put himself through school. He is employed by Luca and Leon's father
as a personal assistant at times, and other odd jobs. Sam suspects that Leon
had arranged for the job. Leon and Stam are very good friends and Stam lives in
the flat in Thessolonica most of the time with Leon and Luca.

Dion is another of Luca's close friends. Sam met Dion the first time he went to
Greece with Luca, when he was working on the Volos ranch. Dion, not more than a
year older than Sam, is a highly successful teen model in Greece. He was laying
low at the ranch for the summer, avoiding the poparazzi, when Sam visited the
ranch. Sam smiled, remembering how quickly Dion had seduced him and how they
fucked on the pool deck, not an hour after they had met.

On one visit last summer, Sam and Luca spent several days at the ranch with
Dion, during which time Sam developed a strong liking and friendship with the
boy. Dion and Ethan had some connection to Luca that was still not clear to
Sam. Whenever asked, Luca would simply say he just tried to help the boys out
at a low point in their life and wrote it off as nothing. Yet, Sam had observed
the devotion and undying love the two boys have for Luca.

"I and the lizard king...I can do anything."

Sam turned off his iPod and took off the headphones. Glancing at the clock he
saw that it was 4:45 PM New York time. He calculated in his head that they
would land in Salonica around 2:30 AM New York time, which would be 9:30 AM the
next morning in Greece.

Sam got up and walked around the small cabin a little to stretch his legs,
stopping in the bathroom to piss. He looked out the cabin window at the nearly
dark sky and saw only darkness below. Sam took a blanket and pillow from the
overhead compartment and stretched out on the couch, thinking it wise to try to
sleep now and start adjusting to the time change. It took awhile, but,
listening to the roar of the jet engines, Sam fell asleep somewhere over the
mid-North Atlantic.
