The Pilot - Book II

Chapter 12

I sat down beside him and asked, "Now, what was it you wanted to talk with
me about?"

"Well," he started. "Ah it's like this. I don't know very much about sex

About fifteen minutes later Pat showed up with a barrel bag and she was

I looked at Pat and said winking at her, "I'll Keep them in line, don't

Pat looked at her boys and said, "John, I want you to get a shower tonight.
Buck, could you help Billy get washed?"

"Sure," I said.

The boys took off and went back to their video games and I invited Pat
inside. We sat down in the living room and Pat said, "Buck, I need to talk
with you about something. I hope I don't offend you if I'm wrong but I get

I smiled at Pat and said, "No Pat, I'm not offended. I am gay and both my
sons know it."

She smiled relieved she hadn't just ruined a friendship. She looked at me
and said, "The reason I asked is because John and Billy both are and I know
they will have questions and issues that John and I just don't know how to
answer or address. I would like you to help them answer their questions. I

I felt honored that their parents trusted me with their children. I thought

"No problem Buck," he said then hung up the phone.

got tired. I was relaxing on the chase lounge when I heard the doorbell
