Chapter 9

of anyone. Classes have been cancelled for a week so students can help their

someone we want you to meet when you get here."

"Gail is fine Dad," he said. "She's left for South Carolina since classes
have been cancelled. I tried to get her to come with me but she said you
would probably need my help and she didn't want to be in the way."

"OK son," John said. "I'll see you when you get here. You do still have your
house key, don't you?"

"Yeah Dad," he said. "I still have it. I'll see you in a few hours. I love
you Dad and tell Billy and Joey I love them too."

"I sure will son," John said, "We'll see you when you get here."

Billy looked up and said, "I take it that was little Buck?"

"Yeah," John said. "He said he tried to get us at Buck's but his answering
machine never picked up. He's on his way down. Classes have been cancelled
for a week."

left for college."

The men got up and fixed both boys breakfast then got showers while waiting
for James to arrive.

Back at my house the twins were up and having a bowl of cereal. Aaron saw
the camera sitting on the table and asked, "It that a digital one?"

Dad nodded his head and said, "Yes it is and it takes very good pictures. I
have a couple here if you'd like to see the quality."

"Sure Granddad," Jeremy said not knowing what he was going to be seeing.

Dad turned it on and brought up the photos then said, "Here you go boys,
Tell me what you think."

I heard the twins gasp then turned red. "Granddad," Aaron said. "That's us

Yeah they are," Jeremy said. "When did you take them?"

"After you all fell asleep," Dad said. "I went to check on you and noticed

guess that happened when the power went out and it didn't come back on when

I'll talk with you later."

Meanwhile Linda was going over everything she'd gotten on Jake and was
determined to get to the bottom to why his parents put him out of the house
or would deny him. She set her coffee cup in the sink then went to her car
to drive into the office. She was hoping that they had their power back so

The first thing she did when she got into the office was pick up the phone

Linda laughed at his statement then said, "I agree with you there kiddo. The
