Chapter 1 - Prologue

Ten a.m. -- that's what the del-display flashed when Andrew
looked up at the clock. All cuddled up intertwined with the boy of
his dreams, sleeping in the twin bed they shared over the last few
days. He just didn't want to get up. If it was only up to him, he
would stay in that position all day long. But he just knew that it
wasn't a possibility, that soon, he'd need to leave and go back to
his usual plain life. It's not that his life at home was boring or that
he didn't like it. It's just that it had become very clear in his mind
that it wasn't where his heart belonged.

Andrew had enjoyed himself so much over the last couple of days,
which he'd describe himself as being the best days of his life as
far as he's concerned. As he was watching his dreamboy sleep,
trying to remember that very particular smell, he couldn't help
but to smile as he was looking back at everything they had done
over the last 72 hours. Gently, without being exactly aware of
what he was doing, Andrew brushed his hand over the boy of his
life's bare shoulder. Slowly, he became more and more confident
and his light brushing transformed into a gentle massage.
Eventualy, his massage was interrupted later by the stirring of his
dreamboy which told him that he wasn't the only one awake in
the room.

"I don't wanna leave." Andrew heard himself say.

"You know, you don't really have another choice," the boy
responded.

"Yeah, but it doesn't mean that I have to like it," Andrew
answered

"It won't be long 'till the next time we'll see each other again."

"Oh, yeah, that much I can promise you. My promises may not be
as definite as when you make promises, but I'll make sure to
keep this promise : I'll always be there for you when you'll need
me" Andrew said as he carefully got up. As he was putting on
some clean clothes and closing his bags, he couldn't help but to
steal a few more quick glances at his sleeping beauty.

By the time for Andrew to leave arrived, he lowered himself to
meet his lover's lips and kissed him gently as if it was the last
time.

"I love ya" he whispered, then got back up and after stealing a
last glance went out of the room, leaving without hearing the faint
whisper answering "love"

Mrs. Miller was in the kitchen when she heard Andrew going
downstairs and not far after when he entered the kitchen.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked.

"Yes, very well indeed." He answered. "I should really get going."

"Don't you want to eat something before you get going?"

"No but thanks, I wanted to tell you that I appreciate very much
all the things you've all done for me during my stay." He said as
truthfully as he could.

"It was our pleasure. We hope that we'll see you again soon."
Mrs. Miller said. "...But are you sure you don't want anything? I
insist."

Seeing that it would probably be somewhat rude not to accept,
Andrew caved in and asked for some toast with some cereals.
They sat quietly at the kitchen counter eating.

"Should I wake nappy boy up before you leave?" Mrs. Miller broke
the silence first.

Andrew chuckled at that "Nah, we already said our goodbyes
before I got down, and last night we talked about it and we
agreed that we shouldn't make it such a big a deal when I'll be
leaving."

They resumed eating silently. It wasn't really an awkward silence,
it was just two people looking at each other, not really knowing
what to say to the other. At least it was that way until they
finished their breakfast.

"Do you know when you'll be coming back Andrew?"

"I'm not sure, as soon as I'll be able to. I don't think I'll be able
during the holidays, as I'll be working but I should be able during
my spring break."

"That sounds good."

Mrs. Miller escorted Andrew to the front door, he walked out to his
car, dropped his bag in the trunk, got in the car and started the
engine. As he plugged his ipod into the car and started choosing
his music, he heard a definite knock on the passenger's side
window. He couldn't hide his smile as he saw who was standing
outside, barely in shorts. Andrew unlocked the door giving the
opportunity of his unexpected guest to get in.

"Andrew, I'm sorry, I knew we said that we wouldn't do the big
goodbyes scene at the door, but I can't... I can't let you leave
knowing that I won't have a last kiss, a last good bye, that I won't
have seen you 'till the very last moment."

Without hesitation, they kissed each other passionately until
Andrew pulled away.

"You know, this never was meant as a one time thing, right?"
Andrew didn't wait for more than a nod to go on "Well, then this
is just a see you soon. We'll be back together really soon, you
won't see the time go by and the first thing you'll know is that
we'll be back together. You know how I feel about you, this will
never change and one day I won't have to leave you again."
Then, Andrew leaned back in and resumed the kiss, after a little
while, unwilling to leave, the young Miller got out of the car.

"Drive safely, alright... And call me when you get home."

Sticking his tongue out, Andrew said : "Yes mum, I will. Seriously,
I'll call you as soon as I'll walk into my place... Oh and, look on
your desk when you'll be back, I left you a little something."

Andrew could swear that he saw his boyfriend's eyes brighten.
"Oh, really! Why didn't you give it to me earlier?"

Andrew answered "Cause I just know that you'd had refused it
had I gave it to you directly. This way, you won't be able to give it
back."

The younger boy closed the door after blowing one last kiss
toward the driver. With that, the teen stood in the driveway
watching the silver car backing up and driving away. The teen
then made his way back into the house.

Just knowing her kid, Mrs Miller knew what to do when she saw
him back inside, she pulled him into a big nice hug, and kissing
his forehead she said: "It's alright sweetie, if it's really meant to
be, you'll see him back soon."

Breaking the hug, there was only one thing left on his mind as he
made his way back to his room. His eyes closed in rapidly on a
little box left on his desk next to the computer. Taking his time,
with all the care, he unwrapped the gift, and not even his wildest
dream would have come close to guessing the content.
