Subject: Unwanted/Wanted Chapter 1

Back in the 1950's, I was a traveling salesman. I sold pots and pans for a
company in North Carolina. My sales area started in the mountains of
western North Carolina and I headed northwest from there. I drove a 1947
Studabaker Commander. It was a nice car for what I had to do and plenty for
trunk room to hold many pots and pans and my personal belongings. I really
didn't carry much personal belongings with me. Mainly clothes, a bed roll,
some lye soap and so forth. I had to have room for the merchandise.

I had been doing this job since last summer and was really enjoying the
traveling. My name is Josh, by the way. I am 17, 5'11" 145lbs. I am a
typical farm boy type, I have a 6 pack, muscular but not really big, more

and pans to this older woman, probably in her 50's and her husband was much
older, probably in his late 60's. He was quietly eating his lunch and
grumbling that they didn't need more pots. I was there maybe 20 minutes and
this beautiful boy, had to be around 10 came in. He was dirty and dusty
from work but I could see that he was beautiful under all that mess. Right
away the old man backhanded him and yelled at him for not being quicker
getting in for lunch and making the old woman work more. The old woman
didn't even acknowledge he was there. However, there was a plate for him on
the stove. The kid never said a word, never cried out or anything. I looked
at him curiously and the old man just said, "He's dumb, he can`t talk."

The boy looked at me when the old man said that and I could see in his eyes
there was something going on. I didn't know what yet, but
something. Finally, the old man said, "There ain't much here, but chur
welcome to eat a bite if you want." I was pretty hungry but didn't take a
lot cause of the woman hadn't eaten yet. So, while I'm eating I asked the
old man, seems like such a young boy for you folks to be starting a family
if you don't mind my saying so. He didn't even look up from his plate and
says, "He ain't our boy, he's just some stray that came around. So we put
him to work for his meals and bed. But he's more of a burden than he's
worth, I just cain't get rid of him. Noone will take him." The kid looked
up at me from his plate for just a moment then went back to eating.

As I was finishing my meal, not that there was much, I asked if there was a
swimming hole nearby that I could take a bath and cool off in. The old
woman said about a mile on the other side of the field is a creek and if
you follow it down creek you'll come to a large pool of water, plenty
enough for bathing and swimming. I said, sounds far, how about if the boy
shows me where it is? She said yeah take em, he's just in the way here. So,
we finished eating and headed out to my car so I could get my soap and
clothes, then we started for the swimming hole.

When we got out of earshot of the house, I asked him his name. He didn't
say anything. I said come on kid, what's going on? You don't look to me
like you can't talk. I won't tell the old people. Finally, after a few
minutes of silence he said, "My name is Cody." I said, "Nice to meet you
Cody, I'm Josh." Then silence again. Finally, I said, "What's your story
Cody?" He said, "I was with my parents last year and they were moving out
west from near Burlington, NC. On the last morning I saw them, my father
said Cody, when I was 13 I was on my own. Me and your mom can't afford to
bring you along. You're mom is really sick anyway and I don't know if she's
gonna make it to California with me anyway. But I can't take care of you
both. So, you're just gonna have to find your own way now. Then he said
goodbye and him and mom drove away." By now Cody was tearing up pretty
bad. I stopped and took him in my arms and I thought he was going to choke
me he was squeezing around my neck so hard. I sat down and pulled him on my
lap and petted him for I don't know how long until he finally stopped
crying and continued his story. He told me he wandered in this area for
days until the old man saw him and asked him why he was on his
property. The old man was so scary he couldn't respond. So the old man
looked at him then goes, haven't you eaten? He said he just barely shook
his head. So the old man told him he has to work for his food or he don't
eat. He said the old man was really mean and beat him a lot.

After a bit we continued heading towards the swimming hole. We chatted some
on the way. I learned that he really hated it there but didn't know where
else to go that the old man had tried to get other people to take him in. I
said well I could take you with me but all I do is travel you wouldn't get
any proper schooling. He said he hasn't been to school in a couple of years
anyway. So I thought as we arrived at the swimming hole. As I undressed he
just stood there watching me. I got completely naked and he looked at me up

condition!" He said still very excited, "Anything!!" I said, "You have to
be my assistant and take care of my every need." He shouted, "Yes! Yes! I
can do that." Then he hugged me again tightly. I squeezed him hard and then
ran my hands up and down his back.

Right about then I started getting hard. He was sitting on me in a position
that it got caught in his groin and he looked at me funny and I said lift
up a sec and I reached down and pulled it up along my belly. The rock had
us in shallow enough water that it stuck out mostly and he looked down and
giggled. I said, "It seems my willy likes your hugs." He laughed and said,

usually slept. The next morning we were up early and left to begin our new
life together as father-son, father-lover, and working friends.
