The Dahran Way

Chapter 11 Colin Bowman

 The importance of delegation

The arrival of the second junior partner at Deckam's branch in Dahra
caused a little bit of a ripple.

All and sundry were delighted with the news of my Swedish general
manager, Gustav Ahlson's promotion. He had been managing of the branch
for over twenty years. No one had understood why he had never sought
promotion internationally, as juniors to him arriving and departing at
the branch had done over the years.

The secret of his purchasing of all Swedish slaves on the Dahran
slave-markets over the intervening years was not something that he had
revealed, except to me.

Bjorn, his first purchased slave of over twenty years ago, being still
his lover was the anchor, which kept him firmly rooted and embedded in
the sands of Dahra. Not only was Gustav good at his job, as the manager
of the Bank's procedures, he was a superb personnel manager to boot.

Colin Bowman's arrival, I discovered, had been at his own request when
he heard that junior partners were in future to be added to the staff in
London, New York and Dahra and nominations being sought.

His almost impolite words `Jonathan, I got a hard-on when I heard that
news that I had made it.'

It did show just how keen the young banker was. If only all my staff
were just that enthusiastic!

Colin, now in his late twenties, lacked the personnel and man-management
skills, which Gustav possessed in abundance. But where he truly excelled
was in the placing of funds internationally. I have seen him place two
billion euro before lunch and not even mention it, whereas others would
be almost out of control with the excitement of such a major placement.

It turned out that he was delighted with the Filipino couple that Gustav
had found for the Bank's villa in the capital city.

`Practising Catholics, who can turn a blind eye' was the way he
described them to me, when I asked over morning coffee one day how he was
settling in.

I must have raised an eyebrow or two, because he expanded by saying that
he had brought home one evening a late night, male, one-night stand and
when they overslept, the Filipino housekeeper had come into the bedroom
with the morning breakfast-for-one on a tray and said without a quiver in
the voice `I think, sir, more toast will be needed and perhaps an extra
helping of whipped cream to go on the suntan' as the naked one-nighter
sat up in the bed.

At the Bank, Colin settled in just as comfortably as he had done at the
villa. I was able to delegate more and more work in the funds area to
him. After two months, he took over fund placements completely, which can
involve up to moving a quarter of a trillion around the world's banking
systems per year. His weekly reports on a single page were a pleasure to
read and file with London.

For me, the taking-off of pressure was very much appreciated and I soon
fell into the habit of only doing Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the
Bank. If anything, it went smoother without me and is proof of my
personal adage that `when professionals are at work, all others should
step aside.'

I did not wish to pry into Colin's private life and he did not invite
me back to the villa after that first night. In many ways, he was still
healing after Carlos' death in Rio, and I do believe that all healing
takes a natural time which can never be pushed. However, he did say that
Faisal had introduced him to two friends whom he was seeing `on and
off,' as he put it.

But for all his coolness on the sexual front with me, he insisted on a
weekly lunch on a Tuesday, `his treat' as he would put it.

When I objected on the second occasion, as I have always felt that
having to pay for two lunches in a row or having two paid for you in a
row, passes the bounds of decorum and moves in the realms of debt, which
as we all know has to be paid usually sooner than later, and at times,
with tears.

Colin however on that issue, put me at my ease by saying, `Jonathan, I
worship the ground you walk on and I would walk through fire for you,
literally and figuratively. I could let you do anything you like to my
body, each day, every day and all times in between. Any day you snap your
fingers I am there for you as your submissive loving slave, in everything
other than the GPS bracelet. To be me, I have to be my own man. I love
you so much it hurts at times, but after Carlos I have to find my own
feet and it is taking time.'

It was at one of our lunches that I told Colin he needed to find himself
a place to call his own. He could not stay at the Villa indefinitely and
it would be my pleasure to give him a new residence as a gift. He started
to protest.

Colin did not really know of my finances and certainly did not know of
the excess in a net five million euro coming into my accounts each month
from the sale of water to my neighbours on the western road.

`Sssh, Colin,' I said, as I rubbed his ankle with my foot under the
table, `it is never too late to learn how to accept a gift from someone,
who loves you.'

Some weeks later, he found the place he wanted, a detached residence ten
miles out of the capital city with a nice four-acre garden and a small
swimming pool. It did not cost much and it was my pleasure to give it to
him as my gift.

Having recommended the two temporary Filipinos that he had to new
employers, Colin staffed it over a period of months with four very nice,
young, male slaves from the al-Qatim market, who were all quite dark
skinned and whom he sent me for training for a month. He merely said to
me with a smile over morning coffee, `When in Dahra, do as the Dahrans
do and the retrainer is the best.'

I tried to figure out what Colin saw in his four choices and could only
see that they all had very slim waists, apart from their colouring. It
was pleasure to ensure that these four got thirty days of intensive
coaching on sexual techniques from Frank Kovacs and his two assistants as
well.

Colin Bowman was so delighted with the four when they were returned to
him that he told me he now had difficulty getting up each morning after
the games of each previous night. However, I did not complain having
delegated an entire function at the Bank to him.

On the 1st May, three months to the day of their marriage, I presented
Jack with the documentation on Harb and Narciso, the two new cooks for
himself and Fiona. The two slaves looked resplendent in their blue boxers
and with a shimmer of oil on their skin, courtesy of Food and Drink.

By Fiona's look of sheer pleasure, I could see that my gifts were much
appreciated.

`Thank you, Jonathan, for the boxer shorts, but as you can see, we are
now going Dahran in the Aloe Palace,' and she indicated to Harb and
Narciso to shed their boxers.

When Jack had the two young slaves on `display' turn around slowly a
couple of times, it was not difficult to guess that their culinary skills
were not Harb's and Narciso's only interesting feature, judging from
the gleam in my nephew's eye.

Fiona exchanged a glance with him, rolled her eyes dramatically and they
shared a private smile. Jack told me later that he exercised his droit de
seigneur on both within the fortnight, but he added astutely `I think
they had been well plucked before my bedding them.'

I did not enlighten him.

While Jack and Fiona lived at the Aloe Palace, I learned, remembering
the Arab males usually like to take a dominant role in sexual matters,
that quite unusually Narciso became the dominant partner in bed over
Harb, who only had to have his nipples bitten to become a submissive and
willing sex partner.

There was one interesting feature of the Aloe Palace during Jack and
Fiona's time living there and it was that Fiona never asked for any
female servants or female slaves. It was, as if not having found female,
Scottish slaves in Dahra she wanted no others.

It was not for me to pry into their family affairs as to how Fiona was
getting along without female help in the Palace, but I did mention one
day to Jack that she must get a bit lonely not having any other girls or
women around.

`Quite the contrary, Uncle Jonathan, she seems to be very pleased to be
left to her own devices. You know she is re-constructing the colour
scheme of the entire Palace with Pete Downings and as for Beno and Vedel
they are almost now like her hand-maidens.'

He must have seen the look on my face.

`Uncle Jonathan, they attend to her in her boudoir and in her bathing.
The whole nine-yards as one of the American guys at the Bank says.'

Don't ask me why, but I was shocked and I blurted out, `they are in
the bathroom with her?'

`Oh, yes, it's just one step short of Cleopatra being bathed in
asses' milk at times.'

`But, Jack, they are...' words started to fail me.

`Slaves, Uncle Jonathan?'

`No, I was going to say men. They are young virile men and you allow
them to be in the bathroom with her.'

`Uncle Jonathan, my own morning needs are easily and quickly complied
with as you can imagine. My clothes and shoes are laid out for the day.
My laundry disappears and comes back fresh. But when that is done, Beno
and Vedel have a lot of time on their hands. They have taken over the
running of Fiona's boudoir and the selection of her wardrobe. Those are
more familiar with Vogue and Fashion Woman than she. They revel in
playing court to her. She was only in the Palace two days when they were
drawing her bath.'

Jack must have seen the astonishment in my face.

`Uncle Jonathan, Beno said to me `Master, the Mistress has no one to
look after her. When we finish looking after you, we want to look after
her,' and that is precisely what they do.'

`At first, I thought, Uncle Jonathan, that it was to go and fetch
things for her. But Beno explained, `we will wash and dress her, Master,
as we wash and dress you. In that way, Master, we will show you how much
we love you' and that was how it all started. One Friday when I was
there, I deliberately made a point of going back to the bedroom suite
after I had left it and there were the two of them, one laying out
Fiona's clothes for the day and the other checking the bath-water with
his elbow. When Fiona walked into the bathroom with a big smile on her
face, do you know what Vedel said, `Master, we are now going to bathe
the Mistress,' and he closed the bathroom door in my face.'

I could not help but burst out laughing, but it was short-lived, as Jack
said, `That, Uncle Jonathan, was how they discovered that Fiona was
pregnant. They had apparently noted she has no period and slyly suggested
to Fiona that they must take extra care of her `as the Mistress is now
eating for two.'

`What did Fiona say to that?'

`Apparently nothing much, just put her finger to her mouth and said it
was a secret now between them, you, herself and myself. They were hugely
impressed that not even Pete Downings knew of it and he the head of
household! After that, if they were previously attentive, Beno and Vedel
went into overdrive. She can't raise a finger without the two of them
being there to assist.'

I thought at that moment that Jack's purchase of those two miserable
wretches, as they seemed to me that day in the al-Mera auction rooms was
yet again an act of Fate not only in his life, but in mine.

End of chapter 11.
