Chapter Thirty-Five: New Horizons

Daniel and the boys arrived at the television station forty-five minutes
prior to air time; they were right on schedule. The station manager
escorted them to their dressing room and assured Daniel steps had been
taken to protect the boys. An announcement would be made at the beginning
of the show advising the audience the boys were there as special guests and
for liability reasons and their own welfare, would not be allowed to leave
the room. Daniel was then taken to his hosts' dressing rooms for
introductions and any last minute questions that anyone may have.

Daniel was introduced to the co-hosts for the morning show, Remi LaCosta
and Juan "John" Rodriguez. Remi and John both had seen tapes of how the
group was introduced in Orlando. Daniel advised them of the obligatory
disclosure prior to the boys' initial introduction and was assured the
station had taken steps to protect the boys. Daniel was also asked to
allow the boys to stay among the audience for the duration of the show.
With this request Daniel asked at what point the boys would appear and was
advised approximately half way through the show. Daniel wasn't happy about
leaving the boys out in the audience for extended periods, but knew they
were his best public relations tool.

Remi and John explained to Daniel that their audience included a very
strong Latino following and were fairly certain viewers would ask how many
Latino children Daniel was caring for. Remi explained that family was very
important to Latinos which should work to Daniel's advantage. They wanted
Daniel to understand that when the questions were asked by the hosts, the
intent was not to attack the program but create a segue for Daniel to
explain his program, where the boys came from, and invite other boys to
join them. In addition, references would be made to the upcoming debate
with David Arnold. Daniel acknowledged the intent and stated he was
comfortable with the platform.

Daniel and the boys stood to the side when the show started, waiting for
their time slot. While they waited Daniel spotted Elizabeth Risler. She
wasn't alone, but Daniel didn't recognize the man standing with her.
During a commercial break, Elizabeth and her companion worked their way
over to Daniel and the boys.

"Daniel, I have someone I think you would like to meet."

"Elizabeth" Daniel responded, "How are you. I thought you might not have
made it. I've been looking for you."

"I've been here for a while, Daniel. I've been showing Walter around the
station." Elizabeth then turned her attention to her guest. "Walter, this
is Daniel Thompson, the head of New Horizons. Daniel, this is Walter
Andrez."

"Walter Andrez, the name is familiar. Are you the Walter Andrez that's
director of the national network news?"

"Daniel, it's nice to meet you. The answer to your question is yes and no.
I was the director, now I am semi-retired. Officially, I'm retired, but
when you've worked in the news business as long as I have you never
completely get out. Now, I produce human interest specials for the
network. That is, when I can find one worth the time. Elizabeth tells me
you have a story that is definitely worth time and effort."

"Well, I suppose I owe both of you a thank you," Daniel responded,
"Elizabeth for promoting us, and you for listening." Daniel was given the
signal to be ready in five minutes. "I've just been given the signal to
get the boys ready. I hope you'll stick around so we can talk afterwards?"

"That's why I'm here, Daniel," Walter answered with a friendly smile.

During the commercial break Mark read the obligatory disclosure regarding
the boys. At the end, a station representative announced that the boys
were here as guests and on advice of legal counsel would not be allowed to
leave the room except as a group. The hope was that no one would try to
use one or more of the boys. The commercial ended and the director gave
the cue to proceed. Daniel signaled Danny to begin.

"Hi, I'm Danny 02780 and me and my friends are here to visit."

Daniel smiled as the boy smiled, tilted his head and turned on the charm.
Danny had found another way to say his opening line.

Remi then picked up on the interview. "Ladies and gentlemen we are pleased
to have with us today Daniel Thompson, the head of New Horizons, and a
small group of his boys. These boys are here to visit with you. If you'd
like to have one come over and talk with you, just give a hand signal and
we'll try to accommodate as many as possible. Also, the boys have
brochures explaining the New Horizon Project and its goals." When Remi
finished, Daniel nodded for the boys to walk out to the audience. Danny
and Ryan ran over to Daniel. Elizabeth held out her hands to Ryan while
Daniel took Danny. The remainder of the boys were in the audience.

"Daniel," Remi began, "Could you please briefly explain the New Horizon
Project to the members of our audience that have never heard of it?"

"New Horizons is committed to providing care to boys who have no family or
anyone to support and guide them. The boys you see here are, excuse me,
were homeless until we assumed responsibility for them. They now have the
opportunity to receive an education and grow into valuable members of
society. All this is done at no expense to the public. We are one-hundred
percent privately funded."

Remi continued, "If these boys were not with New Horizons, what would
happen to them?"

"They would have been enslaved." Daniel responded. "The state no longer
provides care for indigent children over the age of five years. Someone,
or a group of people, determined that care of children was a drain on
public resources and they should be classified the same as criminals and
sold." Daniel paused a moment for the effect.

"Naturally, New Horizons and its backers do not agree with that position,
that's why we fought for this project. I ask your audience to look at
these boys. They have done nothing wrong except be young, and we don't
think that is wrong. Not long ago, their parents could have been sitting
here. I would like to ask anyone sitting in the audience that is a parent,
would you want to see your son enslaved? If parents here today got in a
serious accident on the way home, their children would not just suddenly
lose their parents; but the children could be subject to enslavement."

"Daniel, how do you get the children?"

"Remi, the first eighty-seven were assigned to us by the state. They were
in a holding facility outside of Tampa. If the audience will watch the
slide show behind us, they will see the condition the children were in when
we assumed responsibility for them. They were dirty and many appeared
malnourished. Those same dirty children are walking through this audience
today.

We also have eight boys that came to us about a month ago. If you will
recall, appeals were made to find a boy named Brad. We had Brad's brother,
Sean, who needed heart surgery, but we needed more information. We also
felt that Sean needed Brad. When we couldn't find him we decided part of
the problem was that Brad was afraid he would be enslaved if he came in.
Our agreement with the state was modified to allow us to take in any boy so
long as there wasn't an outstanding warrant on him. We were able to take
in Brad and seven others. One week ago, we followed the same program and
took in another thirteen."

"Daniel," Remi continued, "We have a large Latino following at this
station. Can you tell us how many Latino children you have?"

"I can't tell you," Daniel answered, "We take any child that comes to us
for help and meets the qualifications I just cited. We do not ask a
child's origin or religion. We ask only if the child needs help."

"So, you're telling me that if a Latino child came here right now and asked
to be part of your program, you would accept him?"

"Absolutely, as long as there isn't an outstanding warrant. We have the
ability to check the data base for warrants. If there was a child here now,
I would ask that child to give his name to one of the boys so we could
check the base. If he checks clear I'd invite him down. If he didn't
check clear, I would advise him to move on and let him know when he could
contact us again."

Remi turned to her audience. "Ladies and gentlemen, I could sit here and
talk to Daniel about the project all day; we believe it is that worthwhile.
Unfortunately, we have a limited amount of time. Daniel will be speaking
at various private functions on the southeast coast this week, ending
Thursday in a debate with David Arnold in West Palm Beach. Please try to
catch him if you can. We urge you to take one of the brochures and read
it. The immediate goal is to pass laws that will protect the children and
allow the privatization of foster care. The children will stay with us for
the rest of the show. We encourage you to take advantage and speak with
them."

Remi thanked Daniel and the boys for coming and ended the interview.

Daniel remained where he could keep an eye on the boys but also talk with
Elizabeth and Walter. The trio took chairs off to the side where they
could speak without interrupting the broadcast. Elizabeth was aware that
Daniel and the boys needed to be at another speaking engagement soon and
inquired about his schedule.

"Elizabeth, this show will end at 11:00. We have to be downtown at a
business club luncheon at 12:00. I don't know if we will have the
opportunity to speak before the luncheon is served, after, or during.
We've been asked to limit the presentation to twenty minutes, max."

"Daniel," Walter asked, concerned. "Do you think you can be effective in
that short time frame?"

"I think so, Walter. I'll be using a new visual aide we just picked up.
You may find it interesting, why don't you join us?"

"Daniel, I was hoping you'd ask." Responded Walter with a smile. "Elizabeth
tells me you have uniforms for the boys to wear. I don't know that a
restaurant would appreciate me bringing them in dressed as they are now,
but if they change, how about if the network treats everyone to lunch?
Then you and I and Elizabeth can talk."

"Walter, normally I'd hate to put some one to that much effort, but I do
think the boys would enjoy it, if you take them somewhere they can get
burgers and fries. Our chief cook thinks they should have veggies almost
every meal." Daniel chuckled, thinking he would also enjoy the change of
pace.

***

Daniel and the boys arrived for the speaking engagement just before the
appointed time. Daniel noticed the room to be almost full. Members of the
audience appeared to have drinks and appetizers before them. No one had
mentioned lunch to him or whether the boys should stay after he spoke. A
person at the head table spotted Daniel and approached to greet him.

"Mr. Thompson, I'm Jackson Smythe, thank you for coming."

"Mr. Smythe, it's our pleasure, thank you for inviting us. Please, call me
Daniel."

"Well, Daniel, as you can see we're about to finish the business portion of
our gathering. We used to have a luncheon meeting, but it reached the
point that so few people showed up that we just began serving finger foods
and drinks only. This is the largest turn out we've had in months, and
it's because of you and the boys." Daniel felt better knowing the boys had
not been snubbed.

"Daniel, we normally hold our meetings to one hour. Many of us have to get
back to our offices. The members are really looking forward to meeting the
boys. We will have about thirty minutes when you begin, but we need about
five minutes at the end to wrap up."

"Mr. Smythe, I have my notes timed for just under twenty minutes. I
usually try to leave a few minutes for the people to visit with the boys
before I take them out."

"That's perfect. Please, call me Jackson. I'm sorry; I should have said
something earlier." Daniel smiled and nodded his acknowledgement.

On signal, the boys walked in and lined up behind Danny. Mark quickly read
the obligatory disclosure followed by their host assuring Daniel he did not
need to worry about the boys. Daniel nodded to Danny, who gave the
introduction. The boys moved through the members and Daniel began his
presentation.

"Ladies and gentlemen, normally when I'm invited to an engagement such as
this, all I do is stand in front of my audience and talk about New Horizons
and let these boys charm everyone. I'm not doing that today. Don't get me
wrong, I will ask for your support for the values we promote. Also, I'll
hope these boys can charm at least a few of you. But, today, I'd like to
talk to you about balance." Daniel reached behind the podium and retrieved
a statuette which he set on the table at the front of the room. Daniel
waited a moment before he continued to let the audience view the statuette.

"I'm sure most of you recognize this statuette as Lady Justice, sometimes
known as Blind Justice. The lady is believed to depict Themis, the Greek
goddess of justice and law, or Justitia, the Roman goddess of justice.
Beginning around the sixteenth century she was sometimes depicted wearing a
blindfold. The blindfold was to show she was not subject to influence; the
scale represents impartiality. In either representation, the important
part is that she represents the fair and equitable administration of
justice. That is what I would like to talk to about today, and I'll use
the scales to assist me.

For our discussion, let's assume the left side of the scale on the lady's
left represent benefits. The right side will represent costs. Now, we will
place twenty coins on the left side representing the benefits society
derives from its citizens.  There is a cost associated with those benefits;
therefore we will place twenty coins on the right side of the scale.
Notice the cost and benefits for society are balanced.

A number of years ago we were a balanced society. Actually, we were a
prosperous society. As we prospered, the society decided the government
should provide more benefits to its citizens. One part of these benefits
was to protect society from those who didn't think they had to follow the
rules. In other words, criminals. We put the criminals in prisons. In
doing this we decreased potential benefits and increased costs. The
increased costs being the cost of supporting non-productive citizens.
Therefore we will remove a few of the coins representing benefits, and
increase the number of coins representing costs. We are no longer in
balance.

To regain balance, the government determined it was in society's best
interest to reinstitute slavery. We removed the criminals from the prisons
and sold them to private enterprise.  The result was a decrease in costs;
we remove a few coins from the right side. Another part of the result was
an increase in the work force capable of handling menial tasks. Menial
tasks that benefited society; therefore, we add a few coins to the left
side. We are now back in balance.

Seeing how well this worked, the government later added other groups to the
enslaved. These additional groups included newly convicted felons, the
destitute who could not show how they could support themselves except on
welfare, and debtors. That is bankrupts or soon to be bankrupts. All of
these additional peoples represented groups that were a drain on public
resources and returned minimal benefits to society. Again, with them
enslaved, we are in balance.

Still another group appeared that would drain public resources and,
according to many politicians, return minimal benefits to society. The
group I'm referring to now is the group composed of the children. Children
of debtors enslaved and sold off to pay debts. Children that for some
reason have been disowned by their parents and families. Children who have
lost their families due to natural disaster or other means, such as an auto
accident. The government established homes for these children. With
minimal benefits and the government absorbing the costs, we find ourselves
again, out of balance.

To regain balance, the argument was made that when the children turned
eighteen and were on their own, without family to help them get more
education or skills training, there wouldn't be any work. No work meant
they couldn't support themselves, leading to being destitute, picked up by
the police, and enslaved. The question then became, why wait? The minimum
age for enslavement moved from eighteen to sixteen, then thirteen and
eventually down to age six. Almost simultaneously, the minimum age for sex
was lowered and eventually eliminated altogether. After all, everyone
knows that a master should have the right to use his property as he sees
fit, right? With the elimination of those who didn't contribute to society
and the reduction in costs, we again achieve balance.

Now, let's look at that same scenario, but change the arguments just a
little. We'll add many coins to the cost side and only a few coins to the
benefits side. This is where we were until we began enslaving the
children. The question is very simple: do children contribute any benefits
to society? The boys we have with us today range in age from five to
sixteen. All have lost their families. All fall into the category to be
enslaved, except the two youngest and their time would soon come. I don't
think it's unreasonable to assume that many of you here today are parents
and have a son, a nephew, or possibly a grandson within the age range of
these boys. Just think, become seriously ill and you can't work ^Å. a bad
business decision is made ^Å. or a fatal accident, and that child you love
and cherish could be in the same position as these boys.

Is there any one here that can say children don't provide a benefit to
society? If you aren't sure, take one of these boys and hold him; or let
him sit near you and talk. They are like any other children, they want to
both give and receive love. That is a big benefit." Daniel dropped two
coins on the left side.

"One of these boys could be a future doctor that saves your life, a
dentist, a minister, an accountant, a civic leader or politician. That
list means I should add more coins to the benefit side. I believe the
benefit of a lot of politicians is worth only a half coin. That would make
it four and a half coins, but I'll make it five." Daniel paused while
members of the audience chuckled at his joke.

I'd like to ask the ladies here whether you believe your hairstylist makes
a positive contribution to you personally? I believe you do or you
wouldn't spend the time and money to go to the salon. You'll notice these
boys have highlights in their hair; it was put there by another one of the
boys." Daniel paused for the audience to absorb what he has said.

"If you look at our scales you will see that the cost side is still much
heavier. I can't bring the scales into balance because we don't know the
exact benefits each boy will contribute. What we do know, and believe, is
that each boy deserves the opportunity to make a positive contribution.
So, how do we balance the scale or tilt the scale in favor of social
benefits? The answer is the privatization of foster care. That's what the
New Horizon Project is about. With privatization the costs to society are
eliminated." As he spoke, Daniel removed all the coins on the right side.
"Eliminate the public costs and the scales tilt strongly in favor of social
benefit.

To keep the scales tilted to social benefits we ask that you give us your
moral support. Contact your state representative and let them know you
support protecting the children that represent our future. Let them know
you support the privatization of foster care.

Ladies and gentlemen there are about five minutes left in our time
allotment. I'd like to ask each of you to speak to one of the boys. They
will talk to you and answer any questions they can. Thank you."

***

Walter made the mistake of telling the boys that lunch was his treat and
asking where they'd like to go. With fifteen boys he initially got about
ten answers. Quickly, the group formed a consensus in favor of the golden
arches. Walter told Daniel he had a sit down restaurant in mind, but if
that's what the boys wanted, that's where they would have lunch. Daniel
assured Walter that with fifteen active and boisterous boys, the golden
arches was a good choice.

When the kids were served and found their seats they quickly became like
any other boys. There was yelling across the aisle; the little ones
compared toys found in their kid's meals. When Daniel saw the toys Danny
and Ryan got he wondered what it would feel like sleeping tonight. He
smiled as he remembered getting toys just like these and playing with them
in the tub. Before he knew what happened, he had misplaced them.
Misplaced, that is, until his mother sat down in the tub and rudely located
them.

"Daniel", Walter said while watching the boys, "You have quite a lively
group here. Anyone watching them now would never guess the hardships these
boys have seen. You should be proud of how much you've accomplished in a
short period of time."

"Thank you," Daniel answered, "We are proud of the boys. We can't take all
the credit; the boys did a lot to help. They support one another."

"Yes," Walter mused turning back to Daniel, "Elizabeth told me about the
Little Brother/Big Brother program you use. I've also heard about what
happened with Evan and details on locating Brad and helping Sean. On top
of all that, the boys return to Orlando once a month to help serve lunch to
seniors and spend time visiting with them. Let's see, then we can add in
the boys doing home schooling, a priest comes once or twice a month, the
boys have a vegetable garden and orchard, plus they help take care of the
facilities. Oh, I almost forgot, they just built a basketball court and
baseball diamond. How am I doing so far?"

"Pretty good, Walter." Daniel answered wearing a smile that says he was
getting embarrassed. "You forgot that the basketball court and baseball
diamond were constructed with the help of volunteers from the Orlando
police department."

"Okay, Daniel," Walter became serious, "Let's get down to business. I'd
like to call the network and talk to them about doing a human interest
series on New Horizons. It's a great story and I think it will help you
immensely. The presentation I just saw you give let me know you are an
effective speaker. I've heard about your plan to challenge this politician
to a series of debates and I'd like to see the network broadcast them.
Elizabeth also tells me you may have a real surprise up your sleeve for the
debates. Can we talk?"

Daniel, Walter and Elizabeth discuss the proposed debates and what Daniel
hopes to accomplish. Daniel declined to reveal too much information until
he had more hard evidence, but he did reveal that he hoped to be able to
make two dramatic statements. The first involved exposing a group that was
profiting by having children enslaved the second concerned enslaved
children, to back his statements. He assured them that Elizabeth would
have first chance at the stories. Walter knew that meant the network would
have first chance also.

"Arthur, it's John. I think we have what Daniel is looking for. I'm
emailing a picture and some of the backup data now."

"Okay, John," Arthur replied, "I have the email. Now let me open this up.
Okay, I've got it. Good God! Are you sure this is for real?"

"I'm afraid so. Now, drop below the picture and you'll see the pertinent
data. Arthur, this is inside information. If anyone found out we knew
about this, there could be trouble. Are you and Linda sure you want to do
this?"

"Absolutely. If we can do this, more than just Daniel will benefit. Linda
and I will consider ourselves to be very fortunate also. John, when do you
think you'll have absolute confirmation on the data?"

"I'm hoping for this afternoon, by tonight definitely. The thing is,
Arthur, if we don't move before one o'clock tomorrow afternoon, it'll be
too late. We can meet around mid- morning and head down if you like."

"Let me talk with Daniel tonight and then I'll call you. For right now,
consider the plan a 'go'."

***

The boys had had a busy morning and early afternoon. After two public
appearances and romping through the playground at the restaurant, most of
the boys were tired. Daniel knew many probably didn't get the rest they
were accustomed to. It's difficult when you aren't in your own bed.
Daniel called his mother to let her know they were on their way home. When
she asked he told her it had been a good day. He would explain in more
detail once they got home.

When the vans pulled into the driveway, it was almost as if an alarm clock
had gone off in most of the boys. Suddenly, they were awake and ready to
go. Daniel laughed as he watched and listened to them. Even little Danny
and Ryan seemed to be recharged. As they entered the house the boys looked
first to Daniel and then Linda. Linda told them they knew where the pool
and game room were, help themselves. The boys looked to Daniel who just
told them to go, but not to leave their clothes all wrinkled up in a pile.

"Now, Daniel," Linda began, "Why would you tell the boys something like
that? That's the only way you ever left your clothes. That is, whenever
you bothered to wear any." She smiled at the son she was so very proud of.

"Mom, you keep telling the boys stories like that about me, do you know how
hard they could make it for me?" Daniel asked with a smile.

"Yes, dear, but do you know how much fun it gives them?" Linda answered,
enjoying the time she had teasing her son.

Daniel knew he wasn't going to win that argument with his mother and
decided to let it drop. Arthur called to him from the study. When Daniel
stepped in, Arthur asked Daniel to close the door so they could talk in
private.

"John called earlier." Arthur began. "We think we may have located exactly
what you are looking for. Actually, this one may have a little bonus.
Here's a picture of the home that was protected; the family still lives
there. John has people verifying the background data now. We're expecting
an answer tonight. The catch here is we'll have to move in a hurry. After
one tomorrow it'll be too late."

"Excellent," Daniel responded, "I just had a gut feeling something had to
be out there." Daniel was excited that his plan now had a chance to
succeed. He did have other concerns, not the least of which was his mother
and Arthur. "Arthur," Daniel spoke in a very serious tone after the
initial excitement, "are you and Mom sure you want to do this? This could
be a real challenge."

"Daniel, you want to know what a real challenge is?" Arthur asked, "A real
challenge is watching your son be dragged out of the house, knowing you
will most likely never see him again. Then you spend all of your time
looking for him, willing to fight anyone and anything to reach that goal.
There's one major problem, you can't find him. You can't even get a clue
of his whereabouts. Your mother has never fully gotten over it. There's a
bitterness deep down in her towards your natural father that may never go
away. You're adopted father saved you, but you're mother needs to feel she
is helping you and somehow recovering some of that lost time. At the same
time she can be helping all these other boys. Yes, Daniel, we're sure and
we know what we are doing.

"Assuming all the data checks out, John and I will head south to try and
complete the plan. If we are successful, what would you like for us to
do?"

"Right now, just make sure everything is secure and protected by the
deadline. Then let's wait." Arthur looked at Daniel, surprised by that
answer. "It's been this long; two more days shouldn't hurt too much. I
need to talk to these boys, too. It may be best if the little ones aren't
there."

There was a strong knock on the study door; Linda peeped in. "Are you boys
going to spend all your time in here talking? Somebody needs to fire up
the grill and take care of all this chicken we're supposed to eat tonight."

Arthur looked at his wife and smiled. "Daniel, we better go. A higher
authority has called."

***

"Hey, Mr. Dan'l," one of the boys called out, "You gonna swim with us?"

"Not right now guys," Daniel answered, "Mom thinks I should help grill this
chicken so you poor starving, neglected and innocent boys don't shrivel
away to nothing."

"Mr. Dan'l, we'll go with starving and neglected, but innocent may not
apply to some." The boys were pleased with their joke as evidenced by
their laughter.

"Okay, you starving and neglected, but not so innocent boys, how about a
few of you helping with getting these table set up out here? Pull out the
chairs we had last night. Then you can go back to your fun."

"Sure thing, Mr. Dan'l." Five of the older boys and a couple of the younger
boys, including Danny, came out to help. Linda gave Danny plastic cups and
plates to set on the table. With so many boys helping, it didn't take any
time for the eating tables and buffet table to be set. When it was time to
return to fun, Danny ran up to Daniel.

"Swim with me," the little boy said as his pleading eyes looked up to
Daniel.

"I can't right now, but I will later, okay?"

"No." the boy said simply.

"What do you mean, 'no'?" Daniel reached down and grabbed the boy. He
picked the boy up, placing one hand under his arm and the other held his
leg. Daniel lifted him over his head, causing the boy to scream and laugh
so hard it sounded like a squeal. Stepping over to the pool, Daniel made
sure he had the attention of a couple of the older boys and then cried out
'Super Boy" as he tossed Danny into the pool. The older boys had to grab
him fast. The boy was laughing and screaming so hard he forgot to hold his
breath.

Linda stood inside the door watching Daniel interact with the children.
Somehow, he knew just when to play and when to be stern. It was obvious
Daniel loved what he was doing, and loved these boys. It was also obvious
the boys loved him. Linda watched, feeling a mother's pride.

Daniel kept his promise to the boys. After dinner and everything was
cleaned up and put away, he swam with the boys. Arthur joined him and they
enjoyed their time with the boys. Both men knew they no longer had the
energy to keep up with teenagers and were glad the boys had gone swimming
that afternoon. Before the boys were ready though, Daniel declared it
bedtime. Tomorrow would be another full day. Everyone was to go wherever
they had slept the night before.

Thad lay with his younger brother, Jack. Thad told him a story of what
life with their parents had been like; the same story Thad had told many
times before. As he talked he lightly stroked the boy's side and back till
the young boy was asleep. When Thad thought Jack was sound asleep, he
moved to join Clay on the bed.

The boys didn't waste any time. Clay laid there, Thad lay on top of him.
He locked his fingers with Clay's and moved the boy's hands above his head.
Thad stretched out along Clay's body, letting his legs fall inside Clay's.
This gave Thad a three point stance to tease and control the boy below him.
Beginning with a passionate kiss, Thad began to savor Clay's body as one
would a fine wine or delicacy.

Breaking the kiss he plunged his tongue deep into the ear canal, moving it
in and out slowly. First the left, then the right and the left again.
Trailing out of the ear he enjoyed the smell and taste of satiny flesh on
the side of the neck and throat. Thad enjoyed hearing the sharp intake of
breath and the moans and he teased the boy. Thad enjoyed working his way
in small circles, and then reversing himself, all the while moving down
slowly. When he reached Clay's nipples, he first bathed them, then he
suckled and bit without warning. The sharp bite surprised Clay and caused
him to holler out and arch his back as hard as he could.

Clay experienced waves of pleasure and sheer joy he had never felt before.
There was no doubt Thad was not a novice at this game. Without unlocking
their fingers, Thad moved his legs over Clay's, knowing this had the
psychological effect of control. Clay wanted to be controlled, pleasured
and then used in a gentle loving way. The boy was lost in wave after wave
of pure ecstasy, whimpering and whining for more. Thad was only too happy
to oblige.

When Thad worked his way down to Clay's package, he unlocked their fingers.
Holding the head up, he squeezed lightly to open the small slit and blew
cool air into the opening. Clay practically bounced off the bed. While
bathing Clay's tool, Thad pulled and twisted the plug Clay had put in his
treasure hole earlier. When the hole was empty, Thad filled it with his
middle finger and searched for the prostate. When he found it Clay cried
out again and again, each time Thad stroked the sensitive gland.

After a while, Thad was ready to claim Clay's treasure. Before Thad could
penetrate and experience the tightness only a boy can give, Clay explained
that Mr. Dan'l forbid them to exchange fluids until the tests were back.
It was a strict rule, so Thad would have to use a condom. Thad accepted
when Clay told him that until the restrictions were off, Clay would use his
throat to show his friend special pleasures.

Thad entered his friend and used a slow, long stroke to please the boy
below him. Clay wrapped his arms around Thad's neck and shoulders, holding
him close. His tongue and mouth couldn't bathe or taste enough of him.
Both boys thrust and worked to please the other; their sweat mixed in the
sheets. Clay experienced an orgasm almost immediately, but Thad didn't
stop. He kept going until he reached a strong climax followed almost
immediately by Clay's second.

The boys fell together, lying on the bed. Clay looked over. "Oh my god,
Thad."

Thad looked at Clay and then to where Clay was looking. Jack was sitting
up in his bed watching the two boys as they had sex. Tears ran down his
face.

"Jack, what are you doing? You're supposed to be asleep."

"Nobody can sleep with the noise you two were making." Jack answered.
"Thad, how come I can't sleep with you any more? Don't you love me
anymore?"

"Brooo, of course I do." Thad was trying to talk with his brother while
separating himself from Clay. Once he was out, he quickly removed the
condom, tied it off and tossed it in the trash. "Come up here, bro. You
know I love you. Clay and me was just doing things that big boys like to
do. You're too little for that."

"How come I'm always too little? When do I get to be big enough to do what
you do?"

"Patience, little bro, patience." Is all Thad could say to him. "You wanna
sleep up here with us tonight, instead of sneaking in like last night?"

A smile showed on Jack's face as he nodded and slipped between the two
older boys; his back to Clay.

Daniel lay with the two little ones nesting on either side of him. He had
told them no toys in the bed, but sat on one as soon as he tried to lie
down. He rubbed the boys' backs, trying to calm them so they could sleep.
As he stared at the ceiling he thought about what tomorrow might bring. He
worried about how the boys would react.
