ROAD TRIP officer in distress

Other than to take a leak, Roberto and Anthony never
strayed from their bed. So sound asleep were they,
neither awakened by the wicked thunderstorm, the news
would tell of the next day. What really gets Anthony
motivated is when Nicholas knocks at the door, opening
it, appearing in a pair of low-rise briefs.

"Mmmmm," is Anthony's first reaction.

Extending his arm, Nicholas hands Anthony a remote
phone.

"Who is it?"

"Adam Steel?"

"Oh yes. Adam. Quick... give it here."

Anthony takes it from Nicholas. He notices even though
Anthony is awake, Roberto is still sleeping like a
kitten. He waits.

"What? Huh? I can hardly hear you..."

Nicholas waits and watches as Anthony gets out of bed,
parading his pubes around.

"I can hear you better now. You're where?"

Changing direction in the room, Anthony moves over by
the window, hopefully providing better reception.

"Why, that's just outside of Eskridge. Right, Adam.
Tell me where you are and I can come pick you up.
Okay... okay.... okay... got it."

The line goes dead.

"Trouble, Anthony?"

"Not really. Do you remember me mentioning a police
officer we met on our road trip?"

"Adam Steel," Nicholas assumes.

"One in the same. Seems like he dropped off the force
to take on a corporate security job."

"Right here, in Eskridge?"

"West of Eskridge."

"Oh, so he called to tell you?"

"Yes, but unfortunately the job fell through."

"What a bummer," Nicholas says.

"Yeah. They picked someone else the last minute."

"So, what's he going to do?"

"Well, it was his intentions of getting settled in the
job, then looking us up."

"So, he's without a job and most likely a place to
stay," Nicholas guesses.

"There was a place for him to stay, but now he doesn't
have the job to support his living expenses. He says
he can get the security payment back from the rental,"
Anthony fills him in.

"We've got plenty of room here."

"Just what I was thinking."

"Like Roberto, Randy is still asleep. I can take a
ride with you."

"Sure. I'd like the company."

"I'll get my truck out of the garage."

"Um, Nicholas?"

"Yes?"

"I think you better put more clothes on?"

"No. Really?" Nicholas returns, sarcastically.

Anthony hustles to their private jon and jumps in the
shower. It's a quick one, only to serve the purpose of
washing off last night's sexual activity. Almost
finished, the glass door slides open.

"G'morning Anthony."

"Oh. G'morning, hon. I'm almost done."

They both indulge in a kiss.

"I'm kind of in a hurry."

Because of his hurried nature, Anthony explains to his
lover, the predicament Adam is in and his rescue
plans.

"Poor Adam," Roberto voices his opinion.

"At least he has a place to stay until he can find
employment."

"Doesn't he want to be a police officer anymore?"

"I don't know. Ask him when you see him," Anthony
tells him.

As Roberto gets in the shower, Anthony steps out the
other end.

"We're taking Nicholas' truck. While we're gone, keep
an eye on Randy?"

"Sure thing," Roberto yells, as he bathes under the
shower jets.

Anthony dries off, then rushes to throw on a tee shirt
and some jeans. As he's ready to step into the jon,
Roberto is right there, with toweled waist.

"Be careful," Roberto tells him, offering a sweet
kiss.

"I will."

"Tell Nicholas to keep it under 50!"

"Promise," Anthony says.

As Anthony steps out the front door, he's taken aback
by tree limbs down.

"What happened?"

"Last night. The storm. Don't tell me you slept
through it?"

"Didn't hear a thing," Anthony says, climbing in the
passenger side of the 4x4 truck.

"Yep. There's limbs down all over the place."

"It'll be keeping Sep's hands full," Anthony says,
slamming his door shut.

"Oh yes. He was out back this morning with his
chainsaw."

"This early?"

"Yep. He got to it right away with cleaning up."

"That boy's a lifesaver," Anthony says of the eighteen
year old.

"He says he'll be all day at it, but that's the
breaks."

"It's good he's getting an early start on it then.
Wow! Will you look at the orchard? That must've been
some storm!"

Nicholas, on the sly, asks, "It must've been a good
night, huh?"

"You'll be mad at me if I tell you how it went."

"When you say things like that, I know you have had to
get into some kinky stuff. So?"

"Are you alright hearing about it?"

"Sure I am. Randy's the one having a tough time
dealing with it, mentally."

"Your ordeal has no mental repercussions?"

"Not really, other than once in awhile it comes to me,
seeing my poor lover hanging there by his arms, taking
their punishment. Worst part is hearing them laugh
about what they were doing to him."

Anthony thought about himself, the things Miguel's
friends did to him. At first it seemed like something
harmful, but then Miguel took over and things ironed
out to just making a bit of friendly mischief. Nothing
like Nicholas' and Randy's malicious captors.

"So?" Nicholas presses.

"Nothing much. Roberto tied me eagle-spread to the
bed, then worked me over with his tongue."

"Sweet."

"Was, especially when he straddled me, then slowly
slid backwards, impaling himself on my cock!"

"Sweet. Shot your wad up his ass, huh?"

"Not right away."

"Oh?" Nicholas further pressed Anthony for details, as
he turned onto western branch of the interstate.

"This is where the weird part comes in."

"Weird?"

"Yeah. You know Roberto is not really into this. Only
when I'm horny and `need it'."

"Right. But?"

Shaking his head, `yes', Anthony says, "He got into it
last night."

"Oh really?"

"Yep. Had me tie him to the bed."

"Serious?" Nicholas led him on.

"Yep. Then I bent him in half and worked his ass for
an hour."

"Nice. One thing that I'm beginning to miss."

"Miss?"

"Yeah. Take it, I'm trying to be patient. Randy's way
too sore for anything like that."

"You're not thinking of... nah."

"What?" Nicholas asks, stealing glances to Anthony,
"You're thinking I'd go elsewhere for sex?"

"No. I mean... Look, I shouldn't have even been
thinking it. Forgive me."

As Nicholas turns off at exit 12, he smiles, saying,
"Shame on you, Anthony," but in a kind way.

"I know."

"Nope," Nicholas justifies, "I'm a one man man now and
forever."

"Same here. Oh, there's Adam, over there."

"Where?"

"At the gas station."

"I... think... I've died... and... gone to heaven!"
Nicholas says, when he spots Adam.

"What happened to the one man `man'?"

Both of them laugh.

Nicholas swerves around the pumps, to the left side of
the gas station.

"That must be Adam's car," Anthony says of the late
model silver Sebring.

"Nice wheels," Nicholas says, pulling to a stop.

Adam approaches the passenger side, as Anthony steps
out. With open arms, Anthony hugs him.

"Thank you so much for coming," Adam says.

Nicholas stands nearby, keys in hand.

"It's the least I can do for a friend."

"I didn't know who else to turn to."

"Nonsense. You're always welcome to my place."

Looking over his shoulder, Anthony notices Nicholas
standing there.

"Oh Adam, I want you to meet one of my dearest
friends, Nicholas Palmieri."

"Nice to meet you Adam." Then he offers the ageless
cliche, "A friend of Anthony's is a friend of mine!"

Beginning as a handshake, Nicholas turns the greeting
into a short hug.

"Thanks for coming to my rescue. I really had no idea
where Anthony lived."

"You're in good hands now," Anthony tells him.

Nicholas suggests, "Why don't you take my truck and
Adam can ride with you?"

"Okay, Adam?" Anthony asks.

"Sure. Fine with me."

Digging in his pocket, he hands the keys to his
Sebring over to Nicholas. Soon, they're on their way.
Nicholas picks up speed, passing them, then turning
back onto the interstate.

"Nicholas is in a hurry to get back home. He and his
lover had an unfortunate situation."

"Really?" The twenty-seven year old former policer
officer questions.

"Yeah. I'm just warning you ahead of time. Nicholas
seems fine, but his lover, Randy..."

"I remember him. The blond, in the car with you, the
day I stopped you."

"Right. That's him."

"Such a nice fellow. What happened to him?"

"It's a long story, but to make it short, he and
Nicholas were victims of physical abuse."

"Damn, no."

"Yeah. Randy came out of the incident with not only
some physical scars, but some mental ones, as well."

"Poor guy."

"I'm telling you this, so when you see him, you're not
too overwhelmed. His chest and back have quite a few
superficial welts."

"Reminds me of an incident back home."

"Oh?"

"A little different, but amounting to the same. A
father whipped his son for some lame reason. Randy's
about his age, I think."

"He's twenty."

"This kid was just about eighteen. I really felt for
him."

"But Randy is coming along. It will be good to have
another person around to cheer him."

"I hate to take advantage of you, Anthony."

"Nonsense. So tell me," Anthony changes the subject,
"what is this all about?"

"Not much to tell. The business I applied to said I
was the most likely candidate. Being secure about
getting it, I placed a deposit on an apartment."

"I hope you're going to get it back!"

"I am. I called the landlord and he was most cordial.
Says his apartments are in demand. Anyway, I was up
before dawn this morning, all ready to hit the road.
After traveling over two hours, I find out they've
hired someone else, supposedly with a better resume."

"I'd be pissed."

"Believe me, I was, but...."

"What?"

"I made like I wasn't. I behaved more the professional
and didn't act stormy."

"I guess that's a plus."

"The security manager became quite apologetic and
thanked me for driving all that distance. I didn't go
into the aspect of my resignation..."

"Your resignation?"

"Yeah. I know I should have waited to see if I
actually had the job, but you know, Anthony?"

"What Adam?"

By now they sat within the culdesac of the front of
Anthony's mansion.

"In a way I'm glad I'm out of there."

"Why's that?"

"Even though I did my best to stay in the closet, I
got remarks from fellow officers."

"You could have taken them to court."

"I know. But, having grown up my whole life in that
county, it would have hurt some people too. No, I'm
just as glad to have made a clean break of it."

"Well, Adam," Anthony puts his hand on Adam's arm,
"while you're looking for someplace else, I want you
to feel at home in my house."

It's then, Adam realizes where they've parked.
Squinting, he looks out the side window.

"Wow! You live here?"

"Yeah. C'mon. Let's get your bags out of your car and
I'll show you around."

As Adam opens the trunk of his car, from the inside,
it bounces up. Roberto appears at the side of the car.

"Adam?"

"Roberto!"

The two men hug.

"It's so good to see you," Adam says, adding, "I would
have thought you added some weight to these bones!"

Anthony chides, "No, Roberto will always be my
`stringbean'!"

"Stringbean is right!" the blond ex-cop says.

After the camaraderie of Adam's welcome subsides, the
three empty the trunk of the Sebring.

"Nicholas must have your keys," Anthony tells him.

"No. I do," Roberto says, handing them to Adam.

Entering the house, Adam takes in the item's painting
the inside walls.

"Nice painting," he singles out the one of the
nudists, two males, on the parlor wall.

"Yes," Anthony states, "a painting by Pablo Aguero."

"I'm sorry. I'm not much into art," Adam says.

"Pablo was a friend of my late father. He teaches at
Applegate."

"Applegate?"

"The university here in Eskridge," Roberto tells him,
adding, "Anthony is a sports coach there."

"Yes. I remember you saying you coached a swim team.
Weren't you returning from one of their competitions,
Anthony?"

"Right. Unfortunately I decided to take a short cut
off the interstate, but...." Anthony sighed a heavy
sigh, "if I hadn't, I would never have met Roberto."

"Is that right?" Adam asks, looking to Roberto.

"Yup," Roberto responds.

"Well, you ready to see your room?"

Just then, Nicholas comes in the foyer, Randy riding
in front of him. He exchanges greetings between the
two blonds.

"Nice to meet you Randy," Adam greets him.

"Same here. Um, sorry I can't shake your hand."

Adam withdraws his, saying, "I fully understand."

"You do?"

"Yes. It's a lawman's job to inquire about things and
Anthony has given me a little rundown on what's
happened to you. I can say, in my line of work, I've
come across men who have suffered like you have."

"You have? When?"

As Nicholas grabbed a piece of luggage, he put it
under his arm, taking another piece. The six foot, two
inch, two hundred and five pound muscled man grabbed
all four pieces, hauled in by Anthony, Roberto and
Adam.

"Can I take something, Nicholas?" Anthony asked.

"Nope. I've got it."

Roberto jokes, "I think we need more time in the gym!"

"I'll take the stairs," Nicholas tells them.

Roberto pushes Randy, as Adam and Anthony follow him
to the elevator, around behind the stairs. Inside, the
four swiftly move up to the second floor.

"I've taken the liberty of putting Adam in the suite
next to us," Nicholas tells them, empty-handed, as the
door flings open.

Nicholas takes over for Roberto, pushing his lover
along the hallway.

"Wow! All this room is for me?"

Adjacent to the inner suite, another room stands
across from them.

"Right," Anthony tells him, "you can use the extra
room for an office, while you're here."

"Thanks Anthony, but I hope my stay isn't too long,"
Adam tells him.

"Whatever the case. Generally, meals are from eight to
nine am, 1pm and 6pm, but help yourself to anything
you want from the kitchen."

Roberto adds, "And the pool is open anytime."

"Pool?" Adam looks out the window.

"No," Roberto keys him, "the pool is inside the
house."

"Now that's living in the lap of luxury!" Adam jokes.

Even though he's found out about the pool being
inside, Adam takes in the sight of a lone figure,
bundling up sticks.

"Oh, that's Sep. Our gardener," Anthony says, standing
next to Adam, training his eyes on the figure below.

"It looks like he can use some help," Adam says.

However Nicholas jumps the gun and says, "Yeah. The
storm did a lot of tree damage last night, with the
wind. I think I'll take it upon myself to help Sep
out, myself."

"I want to help too," Randy says.

Nicholas smiles, saying, "Sure. We need a foreman,
don't we Adam?"

"Somebody has to be in charge," Adam agrees.

So, it becomes unanimous. Roberto and Anthony
volunteer as well to help with the storm cleanup.

Entering their room, Roberto asks, "Can't you get Adam
a job at the university, Anthony?"

"Hmm.... it's a possibility. I'll have to check it out
on Monday."

So, the beginning of a beautiful, sunny weekend takes
the household outdoors.
