The week with Kevin seemed to fly by. It was soon the weekend and when they
woke on the Saturday morning and satisfied their morning erections, Kevin

"He certainly is; just like his father" Pam replied stopping what she was
doing and thinking, "but he'd approve as well so don't worry Kevin".

"Thanks Pam; as I said the last time we met, I will look after him with my
life; he means so much to me."

"I know you will Kevin and you mean a lot to him as well, even though he
may not be quite so verbal about his feelings."

"He is with me so I have no worries on that count."

"I'm pleased, because it's good to continually say how much you love each
other; relationships can so easily get into a rut and go sour; you need to

Kevin smiled to himself. He agreed but he doubted his and Daniel's would
ever go sour.



Upstairs Daniel was busy packing away his things. He hadn't realised how
much he'd got packed into such a small room.

"Ah, so you're leaving are you" a voice suddenly said from the doorway
whilst Daniel had his head in the wardrobe.

"Yep, you okay about that?"

Joe giggled.

"Your time will come" Daniel said, pausing what he was doing and going over
to his brother to take him into his arms.

"I will miss you though Danny" Joe said tearfully.

"No you won't; besides I'm not emigrating; I'll come back and see you and
mum every so often and you can come and visit Kevin and me; and we can
email each other" Daniel replied holding his brother tight against his

"Yeah, suppose so" Joe said before suddenly changing the subject and asking
about some DVDs of Daniel's and whether he could have them.

Daniel grinned and said he could plus any others he wanted. He knew Kevin
had loads and there weren't any particular ones he wanted so he was happy
for his brother to have what he wanted, which was most of the collection by
the time he'd finished sorting through them!



As he went through his clothes he realised what a load of dross he had
compared with Kevin's smart ones. He decided to get a black bin bag to dump

"Wow, you're having a clear out" his mum commented as she saw two large bin
bags being brought downstairs, "Put them out the back and I'll get a local

The pair of them went back upstairs and Kevin looked round Daniel's
bedroom. It was certainly small compared to his but it was cosy and like
everything about Daniel it had been kept clean and tidy.

Having finished the packing, Daniel sat down on the bed and looked
around. He felt sad in one respect at leaving the room where he'd grown up,
had chats with his dad, and fun and laughs with his brother when they were
smaller and even in more recent years.

"Feeling sad at leaving?" Kevin asked sitting beside Daniel.

"Just thinking" Daniel replied leaning his head against Kevin's, "We are
going to be okay together aren't we?"

Kevin's heart stopped for a moment. Was Daniel having second thoughts about
moving in or even continuing the relationship?

"If you want more time to decide if it's right for you I'm willing to let
you" Kevin said gently, "I don't want you to jump into anything you're not
sure about Daniel".

"That's the problem; I am sure about it and I do want to live with you and
love you but it's hard to leave here all the same."

"I know my love; I felt the same when I left home for the first time; it's
a big wrench but you can come back as often as you like to see your mum and
Joe and they can come and see us anytime you know."

It was several minutes before they finally parted from each other's tight
hold and made their way downstairs. Daniel wiped away his tears and went to
find his mum.

"Bye mum, we're off now" he said as breezily as he could but she knew that
there was a part of him that didn't really want to leave but another that

"You'll be okay you know Danny; Kevin's a lovely man and you're both very
much in love."

"Yeah, I know; just seems so final doesn't it after all these years."

"That's love for you but think about what the future has to hold; not the
past."

Daniel kissed his mum and said he'd be in contact regularly to see how she
and Joe were and they could call him and Kevin anytime she wanted. With
that done he went to find his brother.

Their parting was less painful but it was still emotional. Daniel was
surprised at how emotional he'd become over it all since earlier the only
thing in his mind was moving in with Kevin.



"Right, that's everything unpacked and in its place I think" Kevin said as
he helped Daniel with the last few items.

"So, what are we going to do to celebrate your new home?"

Daniel told Kevin that he needed to buy some new clothes so perhaps they
should do that first. Later perhaps they could have a meal out, go to a bar

Kevin knew that Daniel would raise this in due course so was prepared.
