Chapter 1

Fuck! What a great way to start off a story, huh? Well that's exactly how
I felt sitting in rush hour traffic. Why do they call it rush hour anyway?
I'm gonna be late for my interview. Why does it seem like I have the
shittiest luck on the planet. I woke up 20 minutes later than I should
have, my coffee maker broke, and I backed into my mailbox. This is turning
out to be a great fucking day.

By the way, my name is Jesse, Jesse Carver. I'm on my way to an interview
for a job as a Sous Chef. I've spent the last few years of my life working
odds and ends jobs while going to culinary school. Now I've finally gotten
an interview at really nice restaurant and I've already managed to fuck
things up. Wow, does it sound like im a negative person? It should. I'm
not your happy-go-lucky kind of guy. In fact I'm really a party pooper. I
have depression, so that should give you some idea of why I'm being so
negative. I've been through years of therapy and been on enough meds to
start my own pharmacy.

Did I also mention that I'm gay? No? Silly me. How did I forget to
mention that? I've only been in one long term relationship my entire
life. His name was Joseph, but I called him Joey. I was the only one who
he'd let get away with it. He was tall, about 6'2", 200 pounds. I was so
totally in love with him. That is until I came home one day and found him
screwing some high school kid. Needless to say I've be somewhat reluctant
to start a new relationship.

Maybe I should describe myself a little. I'm 25, 230 pounds, and yes some
of it is muscle. Don't think because I push the 200 pound mark that I'm
some fluffy guy who shovels food in his mouth all day. I just happen to be
built a little bigger than your average person. I have short blonde hair,
a goatee, and blue eyes. Now I bet you're all wondering, "How big is your
cock?" You might expect me to say that I'm hung like Long-Dong Silver,
packing a 10 or 12 inch pecker. You would be wrong. I'm 6-1/2 inches cut.
I never bought into the whole, "You have to be hung like a horse to get a
guy" philosophy.

So, where was I? Oh, right. Rush-hour. I think the guy who came up with
that name should have bamboo splints shoved under his fingernails for all
eternity, but I digress. Finally traffic is fucking moving. Now if I just
speed a little without getting caught, I might just make it to the
interview on time.

Well that was worth the fucking drive! "Oh, you're not what we're looking
for at this time. Well keep your resume on file though and let you know if
anything comes up." What a douche! Now I have to go back to working at
that hell-hole of a diner. Just the thing to brighten up my wonderful day.

As I pull up to the place, I notice a new guy standing around with the
manager. I walk in and I'm greeted with, "Where were you, Jesse? I needed
you an hour ago."

"I told you Rick, I had an interview." Prick!

"Seeing that you decided to grace us with your presence, I take it you
didn't get the job?" He really needs to wipe that smug look off his face
before I beat it off of him.

"No, I didn't get. Shit happens."

"Yeah, it does. Anyway, this is Bradley. He starts here today and I need
you to show him the ropes." Yeah, cause your gonna be fondling yourself in
your office cause no woman will touch you.

"Sure, no problem." Great, now I have to baby-sit some new guy while
trying to keep this place from burning down.

"So Brad, how old are you?"

"I'm 21"

"Cool, legal to get wasted."

"Actually, I don't drink. Not because of religion or anything, just a
choice." I bet he's all kinds of fun at parties.

"Let's get started here. I figure we'll start you out front and work our
way back."

"Cool, I can't wait." Yeah, I'll bet.

`Man, he's kind of cute.' Where the hell did that come from? Get a grip
Jesse, you don't even know if he's gay.

"So Jesse, how long have you worked here?"

"About a year. Before this, I worked as a valet."

"Cool."

I showed Brad everything he needed to know about the diner. It didn't take
as long as it did with other trainees, so I figure he's a pretty quick
learner.

I get through the next 7 hours without incident. Thank God, cause I don't
know how much more I can handle today. I drove to my house, a two bedroom
job that was left to me by my grandfather. He never knew about me being
gay, and if he had, I would have never gotten the place.

It's sparsely decorated; I think it's not really all that important. I
picked up some nice leather furniture for the living room at a pretty good
price. The kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances and counter
tops. It's the one room I actually put time in. I love to cook, so why
not have the best in there?

My bedroom, like most of the rest of the house, has the look of barely
lived in. I have a queen sized bed with red sheets and comforter. The
walls are painted some off-white color. I really should think about
sprucing the place up with a fresh coat of paint.

I'm pulled from my thoughts when my phone started ringing. "Hello?"

"Hey Jesse, what's up?"

"Nothing Sheil, what's up with you?" "About the same here."

By the way, that's Sheila Watson, my best friend since middle school. She
was the first person I ever came out to. When I told her, she was like,
"Duh!" I wondered how many other people knew?

"So Sheil, what's the plan for tonight? Another dozen rounds at the bar?"
Silence.

"Sheil, what's wrong?" Silence.

"No." Silence.

"No, you did not set me up again!"

"Jess, he's a really great guy, not to mention easy on the eyes."

"Yeah, that's what you said about the last 50 guys."

"It's only been 5, Jess."

"So when am I suppose to meet him?"

"He should be there to pick you up any minute."

"What?!? I haven't even had a chance to shower yet, I still smell like the
diner!"

"Sorry, I didn't know what time you got off." Right, she did this shit on
purpose. Something about her wanting people to see the `real' me.

"I really hate you sometimes."

"No you don't, you love me. Admit it." Yeah, I do love her. She's just a
little nerve wracking sometimes.

"Yeah I love you, always."

Then the door bell rang.

`Great!'

"Just a sec", I shout.

"Sheil, I have to go."

"Have fun and be safe."

"Yeah, later Sheil." Ding-Dong.

"Yeah, just a sec!" Hold your horses, dude. What the fuck is his problem?

I open the door to see my recent setup standing on my porch.

"Are you Jesse?" He looks kinda nervous.

"Yeah, I'm Jesse."

"Frank, nice to meet you."

"Yeah, you too. Come on in, I'll be ready in 10."

"Ok."

"Just make yourself comfortable." Don't touch anything is more like what
I'm thinking. He's not a bad looking guy; about 5'10", 180 pounds, dark
brown hair and green eyes. Sheil was right, not bad.

"So when did you move in?" I hear as I'm getting ready.

"About four years ago."

"Really? It looks like you just moved in."

"Yeah, I don't really like to decorate. I actually thought about hiring
someone." A lie, but he won't be around long enough to know that.

"You ready to head out?" I say to him.

"Yeah, let's go."

We go out to his car and get in. I notice that it's still running. Hmm.

"Where we headed?" I ask.

"Austin's." Ooh, fancy-schmancy. He's probably expecting me to put out,
too bad for him that I'm not that kind of girl. I don't sleep with random
people, or anyone for that matter.

It's about a twenty minute drive to Austin's from my house. We get there
and he opens my door for me. How sweet. I'm still not putting out, but
sweet. We get in the place and we're greeted by the seating hostess.

"May I help you?"

"Yes, I have a reservation. It should be under frank peters."

"Yes sir, here it is. Follow me please," she says with a sweet little
smile. This should be a great evening. Not!

She seats us at a table near the back of the restaurant. Our waiter comes
over to our table and says,

"Good evening, my name is Ted and I'll be your waiter tonight. May I
interest you in something to drink?"

"Yes, I'll have a mineral water, please." Oh no, not a health nut. Please
don't be a health nut.

"And for you sir?"

"I'll have just plain water, thank you." There's no sense in letting him
know that I'm a borderline alcoholic.

"Very good sir, I'll be back to take your order shortly."

"So what's good here?" I ask him.

"The chicken parmesan is nice; they also have a steamed vegetable platter
that's wonderful." Ok, so I'm really starting to leaning towards health
nut.

"I think I'll go with the chicken."

"Hmm, so will I." Ted comes back with our water a few minutes later and
asks,

"So have we made a decision yet?"

"We'll both have the Chicken Parmesan." Wait, what? Did he just order for
me? Okay, homo don't play that. He just lost any chance of taking me to
bed. What? I have needs too. I was trying to think positively for a
change.

"So what do you do, Frank?"

"I'm in real-estate."

"Must be a tough time for you with the way the market is."

"You'd think so, but I actually do really well." We spent the next hour or
so just talking, asking each other about our lives. I actually had a
pretty good time, go figure.

Ted brings our check over to the table.

"Is there anything else for you this evening?"

"No, thank you," Frank says. I reach for the check and Frank grabs it
before I can.

"I've got it," he says with a little smile. Great! One dinner and he want
to ride me like a mechanical bull.

"At least let me leave the tip."

"Okay."

Now I believe in tipping very well; one, because I wait on people sometimes
and I know how hard it is. Two, you need to be nice to the wait staff so
they don't spit in your food the next time you come in. I decide to leave
him twenty bucks. He deserves it, besides, he's really cute.

We leave the restaurant and go out to Frank's car. Now that I have a
chance to look at it, it turns out he drove a 2009 Cadillac Escalade. He's
either compensating or representing, and looking at his pants I'm inclined
to lean towards the latter.

So we got back to my house and Frank walks me to my door. What a
gentleman, I'm still not putting out.

"I had a really nice time tonight, Jesse."

"Me too." Please leave.

"I hope we can do this again sometime."

"Me too." Not a snowballs chance in hell. He leans in to kiss me, I pull
back.

"I don't think so big guy." He looks like at me like I just called his mom
a dirty slut.

"I thought you had a good time."

"Frank I did, but I don't think this is gonna work out. I'm not really
feeling it." Okay, I'm getting a little scared now. He looks super
pissed.

"Fine, you have a good night Jesse."

"Yeah, you too." He gets back in his Escalade and speeds off leaving
behind some major burned rubber.

I walk in my house and close the door behind me. I slump against it, fall
to the floor and sigh.

`What's wrong with you?'

I'm brought out of my thoughts when my cell starts ringing.

"Hey Sheil."

"Didn't go so well, huh?" How could she tell?

"He tried to kiss me. I know exactly what he wanted."

"Jesse, you really have to get over what Joseph did to you."

"I know Sheil, but it's hard."

"I know sweetie."

"Anyway, what are you doing tomorrow night?"

"Nothing as far as I know, you thinking the club?"

"You know it. We either need to get a cab or find a D.D."

"Why not get a cab, I did pretty well this week. You could come back to my
place, make it a sleep over, you know?"

"You just want to take advantage of me."

"Oh, how do you figure out my masterly crafted plan?"

"I'd like that. We could do each other's hair in the morning."

"Ok, so I'll get a cab and pick you up at 9."

"Okay then, I'll talk to you later."

"Ok, later Sheil. I love you."

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring at me. When did that damn thing
get so loud? Fuck. I wish I could sleep all day. Sometimes depression
can bit ass. Well it bites ass no matter what. I start my Saturday
morning routine like always, with the three S's. Shit, shower and shave.
Then I have breakfast.

`What culinary delight should I have today? Cornflakes look good this
morning.'

I think I'll go to the hardware store today and get some paint, might as
well make the place look cheery.

I stood there looking at all the possible colors I could paint my rooms. I
didn't know there were that many colors.

`Whatever happened to the basic colors names? Mallard Green? Orange Zest?
Blue Bonnet? Who sits around coming up with these names?'

I decide to paint my bedroom light blue and my living room will be a deep
red. I think it'll go well with the black leather and the rest of the
décor.

I go home after my little trip to the hardware store when my cell rings.

"Hello?"

"Hello Jesse, how are you doing?"

`Crap, it's my mom. What the hell does she want?'

My mom didn't exactly take it well when I told her I was gay.

"Hi mom, how are you doing?"

"I'm fine, thank you for asking."

"So what's up?"

"I wanted to call and see if you would like to have dinner with me on
Sunday?"

Crap, this can't be good. I smell a setup. My mom thinks it's a phase.
She probably has one of her friend's daughters coming over to get me to
fall in love with her and change my `sinful ways'.

"I don't know mom, I'm really busy this weekend. Me and Sheila are going
to the club and then I wanted to paint the house."

"So you're too busy to see me, your only mother?"

Oh God. Not the guilt trip, anything but that.

"No mom, I'm not too busy to see you. What time?"

You could hear the smile in her voice.

"Six-thirty, sharp. Dress nice."

"Okay mom. I'll see you then, take care."

"You too, Jesse." Shit! What the hell am I gonna do now?

The cab pulled up to Sheila's house at eight-thirty that night. She came
running towards me, yanked my door open and gave me a giant hug.

"Ooh Jesse, I missed you so much!"

"Sheila, I talked to no more than a half an hour ago."

"I know, but I'm so excited to see you!" Sometimes I wonder if she wants
to be more than friends.

"So are you ready get wasted tonight?" she asked when she got in the cab.

"You know it."

We pulled up to the club at eight-fifty. The Chameleon. Man I've had a
lot of good times here. The people are awesome and the drinks are cheap.
We go in and we're greeted by the owner, Carl Greene. Fifty, salt and
pepper hair, and deep grey eyes. If I were a little older, I might hook up
with him.

"What's up, Carl?"

"Same ol' same ol', Jesse Boy." He calls me Jesse Boy. Carl's been like a
father to me for as long as I could remember.

"Anything exciting happening tonight, Carl?"

"Not really. I'm thinking about getting a show put together for next
week."

"Cool. Well Carl, we're gonna go mingle for a while. We'll see you
later."

"Okay Jess. Be good." He gave me a little wink.

Sheila and I headed over to a table that had five guys sitting around it.

"Wassup Guys?" was shouted to us as we made our way over.

"Not much, you lazy drunks."

They all laughed. These were regulars at the Chameleon. To my right were
Jim Swanson, Eric Seedler, Tom Simmons, Greg Luke and Derek Thomas. They
all hang out at the diner, so I see them a lot.

Eric asked, "You two ready to party?"

Sheila chimed in, "You fucking know it!"

It was hard to hear everyone when the music started up. For a smaller
place, the Chameleon had an awesome D.J. and a hell of a fucking light
show.

Sheila grabbed my hand and led me to the dance floor. Now I'm not a great
dancer, but it's all about having fun. I didn't give a shit what other
people thought. God knows how long we danced before we were both covered
in sweat.

"I'm going to get something to drink, you want anything?" Sheila asked.

"Yeah, get me a Smirnoff."

"Okay, Brb."

I went back to the table and sat down. Jim looked at me and asked, "What's
new?"

"Not a lot. Just workin' and partyin'."

"Yeah, I hear that."

Just as I was getting ready to say something else, Jim pointed towards the
door.

"Look at the cool drink of water that just walked in!"

I turned to see Brad getting his I.D. checked at the counter.

"Oh my God, I work with him at the diner."

Eric said, "He looks good enough to be served on the menu."

"Cool it man. I think he's a newbie."

"All the more reason to move in now, before all the old queens try to get
their hands on them."

I looked back at Brad, and his eyes locked with mine. For a split second,
I felt a something that I couldn't describe. `What the fuck was that?' I
broke eye contact and noticed that Brad had turned pale. He turned around
as fast as he could and was out the door.

"What the fuck was that all about?" Greg asked.

"I don't know, but I think he spent a lot of time outside before he came
in," I said.

Sheila came back to the table and handed me my drink and a shot of Ice 101.

"You're just trying to get me drunk," I teased.

"You know it, big guy." She teased back.

We sat around drinking and dancing, I even made out with a cute guy. Hey
get me drunk and turn into a huge tease. Carl came over to us at three
a.m. and said, "Your cab is out front."

"Thaaannkks Carrrl." `Wow I'm really trashed,' I thought.

"Come on you two." He practically had to carry me to the cab. Sheila was
in a little better state, but not by much.

"See you, Carrrrl." He just smiled and waved `goodbye'.

I woke up with a super wicked hangover on Sunday. I looked at my alarm
clock and saw that it was 3:30 in the afternoon.

"Shit! I have to get ready to go to moms!"

Sheila walked in with a couple of ibuprofen and some water.

"How you doing, stud?"

She just smirked at me and I groaned.

"I didn't do anything I'm gonna regret later, did I?"

"Well, I don't know about regret, but you did propose to me last night,"
she smiled a huge smile.

"Oh no, I didn't."

"Yeah, you did. And don't think you're backing out mister."

She couldn't help but bust out laughing.

"You are too easy!"

"I could say the same about you," I shot back. She feigned as hurt a look
as she could muster before laughing again.

As I drove over to my mother's house, I couldn't help the feeling that this
was going to be more than a normal dinner. I arrived at her door at six
twenty five.

`Five minutes to spare,' I said as I rang the door bell. God that thing is
loud. I still had a pretty good sized headache that even a little hair of
the dog couldn't get rid of.

My mother opened the door and said, "It's very nice to see you Jesse.
Please come in."

`Oh God, this night is going to suck,' I thought to myself.

"It's good to see you mom. How are you?"

"I'm very well, thank you for asking."

That's Judith Carver for you, always polite to a `T'.

"What smells so good?" I ask.

"Roast Lamb with steamed potatoes. Please, come sit down,"my mother
gestured towards the dining room. I got this really uneasy feeling as I
started walking towards where she was pointing. I walked into the dining
room; a young woman was sitting there.

She couldn't have been more than 25, shoulder length blonde hair and blue
eyes.

"Jesse, this is Veronica Samuels. She's the daughter of one of my
associates."

See! I knew it! And you thought I was being paranoid, admit it.

"Hello Veronica."

"Hello Jesse."

"Shall we sit and eat," my mother suggested as she moved towards the table.

Dinner was served by my mother's personal assistant. That woman seemed to
do more than what should be required of someone in her position. The
dinner was very good, well the food part anyway. Mom kept trying to steer
this thing so that veronica and I would have a conversation on our own.
`Not a chance in hell' I smiled to myself.

"So Jesse, are you seeing anyone at the moment?" veronica asked.

"Well, not really," I said. She really seemed to like that answer. `Crap,
what am I going to do?' I can't embarrass mom, she'll never forgive me.
Mom chimed in this time.

"Seeing as you're both un-attached, maybe you could use these opera tickets
that I have." Damn that woman. She really is twisted.

"I would love to go, wouldn't you Jesse? `Double crap.'

What the fuck am I suppose to say, "Sorry, I'm gay, but thanks anyhow."
Shit.

Now you're probably thinking, `Just tell her, and forget your mom.' That's
actually easier said than done. Even though my mom opposes my lifestyle, I
still love her and don't want to cause any unnecessary trouble for her.

"Sure Veronica, sounds fun."

"Great, then it's a date." Shit.

Now what the fuck can I do? My mom's grin was really nauseating. She was
so happy that her gay son was going a date with a woman. Can things get
any worse?

"Maybe you two could have drinks afterwards?" mom said. Fuck!

"Oh, that would be very nice. Don't you think so, Jesse?"

Veronica was basically lit up like a ten thousand watt spotlight.

"Yeah, sounds great." My mom has really outdone herself this time. I went
home after dinner feeling sicker then when I arrived.

Monday finally came. I was looking forward to work cause I wanted to talk
to Brad about Saturday. Poor guy was most likely freaking out all weekend.
He probably thinks I'm gonna out him to everyone at work.

Before I got out the door of my house, my cell started ringing.

"Hey Sheila, what's up?"

"Nothing here, just thought I'd call you before you left for work. How was
dinner with mommy?" She's really annoying in the morning.

"Just fine. I have a date on Thursday."

"Oh my God!!! Your mother set you up with a guy?"

"No Sheil, its some chick name Veronica Something-or-other."

"No way!" she screamed in my ear.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just as shocked as you are. But what can I say Sheil,
she ambushed me."

"Honey I don't see why you put up with half the shit she pulls."

"It's complicated, Sheil."

"Yeah, well I think you're just afraid to stand up to her." This woman can
read me like a supermarket tabloid.

"I think your right Sheil. I just can't stand to upset her."

"I know sweetie, but you have to sometime. I understand that you love her,
lord knows why, but you can't go on like this."

"I know. Hey, I gotta go. Don't wanna be late. Rick will have my ass."

"Ooh, Kinky."

"Later Sheil." I had to smile at that. She always makes me feel better.

I got to work on time only to see Rick out front. `Oh crap.' I thought.
It's never good to see him out of his office. I walked into the diner
trying to buzz past Rick, but no such luck.

"Jesse!" he yelled.

"Hey Rick, what's up? I'm not late."

"No shit, really? I need you to work an extra shift this week." Shit.
There goes a day of freedom.

"Sure Rick, no problem." What a dick. They should have fired his ass
years ago.

I finally got back to the kitchen and saw Brad standing off in a corner.

"Hey Brad, what's up?"

He just looked at me, the same look he had at the chameleon.

"Can I talk to you for a sec?"

"Uh, sure. I guess."

"Well don't sound so excited about it. I just wanted to let you know that
you're okay. I haven't told anyone where I saw and don't plan on telling
anyone, okay?" He looked a little relieved.

"Thanks Jesse."

"Now get your ass to work," I said then smiled. He smiled too. `He is so
cute when he smiles.' Where is that shit coming from?

I started my shift feeling a little better that I got a chance to
straighten things out with Brad. The fact was I was thinking about him a
lot lately. I had to get to know him outside of work. No people, I don't
want to fuck him. Well okay, there is that. I just want him as a friend
right now. Fucking will come later when we're both trashed out of our
heads. I'm so evil. ;)

My shift ended with me no worse for the wear. Brad still had a couple of
hours to go.

`Let's see what he's like outside of work.'

"Hey Brad!"

"What's up Jesse?"

"I wanted to see if you'd like to hang out tonight. Watch a movie, order
some pizza. You know, just two friends hangin'?"

He looked away for a second then turned back to me.

"Sure, sounds fun," he smiled a little.

"Okay, here's how you get to my place," I said writing directions on a
napkin.

"Cool, see ya soon." `Yes! This should be an interesting night,' I smile
to myself.

At eight thirty, Brad showed up to my place. He was still in his work
outfit when I opened the door.

"Hey guy," I said smiling at him.

"Sup, Jess?"

"Come on in."

"Thanks. Sorry about how I'm dressed. I didn't want to go back to my
place. My roommate is being such a prick right now." Brad said looking a
little sad.

"Hey, no problem. Actually, if you want, I can let you shower here," I
said.

"Na man, I don't have any clothes with me."

"Dude, I'm pretty sure I've got some shit that'll fit you. Besides, you
really reek and I don't want you sitting on my couch like that." I tried
to stay serious, but that didn't last long.

He just smiled and said, "If you insist." `God I love his smile.' Okay,
that's really starting to bug me. I need to check it out later to see if
I'm hearing voices, again. No people, I'm just messing with you. (Or am
I?) Brad walked to where I pointed him.

"I'll be back in a sec, Brad. Go ahead and get in and I'll bring some
clothes and a towel."

"Thanks Jess."

I went to my room to find him some sweatpants that were a little tight on
me and a shirt. Shit, he needs underwear too. I don't want to weird him
out though. Fuck it. I also grabbed out a pair of boxers for him.

I made way back to the bathroom and stopped just outside the door. It was
cracked a little. There Brad stood in all his glory. His body had a
really nice tan. He had a little muscle too, not like a gym rat. Just
enough to make him uber sexy. My eyes followed down his body to see a very
nice surprise. He had a seven inch cock. It was about two inches around.

I sighed a little as I imagined me down on my knees with his dick in my
mouth. I shook myself back to reality. I knocked on the door,

"You in the shower yet?"

"Just a sec."

Man I wish I had a clear shower curtain. "Okay," he hollered at me. I set
the stuff on the counter and walked to the living room to order pizza.
