Just Another Wednesday
It was just another morning, another Wednesday. And I was, as
usual, not paying much attention to the drive to work. If I didn't
know the way after four years then someone should just shoot me and
end the misery.
My cell phone earpiece rested in its accustomed place in my
right ear, momentarily quiet since the end of my last call - a call
that had left me slightly stirred up inside. It had been the normal,
daily chat with my best bud. Each morning we try to connect to fill
each other in on what had transpired throughout the prior day even
though there was a good chance we'd had lunch or after-work cocktails
together. Pretty sad, huh? I mean, I almost knew when the guy took
a leak. But that's what great friends are all about ... knowing the
minutia inherent to daily living. Still, this morning's details had
left me more than a little on edge and in dire need of a quick
polishing.
As usual, Barry had called laughing that I was so late for work.
Granted, it was close to ten in the morning and I still hadn't
arrived at the office. Not a real problem considering that my boss
was most likely not there either. I have an ok job, I guess, with an
ok company. I set my own hours and get the job done. What can I
say, it works for me. So our daily call normally occurred during my
ride across town and that was also normally when he'd fill me in on
his previous evening's exploits. And last night's exploits were more
than steamy. As I said, if the boss wasn't yet at my office, I'd
definitely need to take matters into my own hand.
So that was where my mind was when I spied the Oak Ridge Police
cruiser in its `catch the speeder' spot. I knew that spot.
Intimately. For the past two months, my foot automatically pulled
off the accelerator as I crested the small rise a hundred yards or so
prior to the intersection of 33rd and Sheridan. And today, seeing
the man in blue sitting with his radar gun positioned in my
direction, I slowed all the more, even though I wasn't speeding in
the first place.
I don't know if it was the after-effects of Barry's sordid tale
or if Mars and Venus were in some lingering alignment with Earth, but
I braked suddenly, hit the turn signal and careened around the corner
onto 33rd street slightly out of control. I know, stupid move, but
as I said, I think Barry and the Cosmos were more to blame for my
impetuous actions than I.
As I completed the turn, my eyes flashed on the officer behind
the radar gun. And to my ever hopeful delight and wonder, Office
Hunt, or Officer Hunk as I had deemed him from my previous encounter,
tracked my maneuver with his sun-glassed eyes. Being the silly ole'
faggot that I am, I gasped, then smiled and winked at him ... quite
obviously actually. God, I'd wanted to do that two months ago, but
hadn't had the guts. I might have gotten away with it too if I
hadn't then let loose an outrageous laugh.
Alas, both vehicle's windows were down so there was no chance
Officer Hunt failed to observe my antics. The only thing I have to
say in my defense was ... `it was all Barry's fault! He's the one,
Officer, that got me all hot and horny so early in the day'.
My eyes tracked the action behind me in my side mirror. As the
distance between my vehicle and the cruiser increased, I watched
Officer Hunt withdraw the radar gun back through the open window and
pull into the street, making a u-turn behind me. Damn! I didn't
think that I'd done anything that wrong! Sadly though, the thought
of another ticket had no effect on the goofy smile on my face. What
was wrong with me!
I sighed and slowly pulled to the curb just as the cruiser's
lights flashed in my rear view mirror. Then, after that short but
interminable and intimidating wait while the officers do god-knows-
what before getting out of their vehicles, I saw the door open and
out stepped the law enforcement officer of my dreams. I mean this
literally. After my previous date with Officer Hunk, I'd fantasized
about doing all sorts of hot and steamy things to him ... and that
was before I shed him of his uniform!
My gaze fixed solidly on the side mirror, I watched his
confident stride -- almost a saunter actually. As he approached the
rear of my car, I was drawn back in my mind to two months earlier.
* * *
The traffic on Sheridan Boulevard was fairly minimal at 10:30 in
the morning. Everyone that I normally trudged through the endless
series of stop lights with was already at their offices like good
little employees. I seldom dawdled this long at home prior to
heading to the office, but this was a slower-than-normal, dawdle
morning after being up until two the past night writing. So not only
was I a little weary, the coffee failing to provide its standard
jolt, my mind was on the story I'd been feverishly hammering away at
the prior night.
I'd been following a flat-bed truck as it moved through the
lights at a fair clip, probably 45 miles per hour. I seldom paid
anything close to proper adherence to the posted limit of 35 because
I normally followed the traffic flow. I see the posted speed limit
as a guide, nothing more. Actually, it's amazing my driving record
is a spotless as it is. Besides, with all the stop lights, one
normally was denied full acceleration anyway. But this morning was
different. The traffic was minimal and I followed the flat-bed up
and over the rise just before 33rd and there, waiting to begin my day
with a municipal wake-up call, was Officer Hunk, I mean Hunt.
Busted. 47 mph easy. Damn! And that was after I'd hit the
brake.
I turned onto 32nd hoping I could slink to my office and that
the good officer would let me slide seeing as how I'd braked and all.
No such luck. He came to my driver's side window as I continued to
pull out the standard registration, insurance proof, cell phone
number ... joking, joking ... and as I turned to hand him my
information, my entire torso flinched with shock. There before me
stood a true vision of manly masculinity and authority. Then I moved
my eyes from his crotch and was met with an indifferent stare from
light colored eyes covered by what looked like aviator lens.
The glasses weren't quite the style pilots wear, but similar
enough to make me wonder. Maybe they were specially made for cops
even though I'd never heard of such a thing. Then I noticed the
straight temple pieces that extended beyond the ear and knew with
certainty that these glasses were chosen specifically by Mister Law
Man himself. For some strange reason, this display of fashion sense
caused my groin to twitch.
"Excuse me," the officer said, causing me to focus on his face.
I blushed thoroughly as the realization that the reason for my
inattention to the matter at hand was plainly clear to Mr. Law. You
need to understand something here. I have the utmost respect for
police officers and firemen. Their job duties are daily in the
"heroic" category and beyond. So a portion of my embarrassment was
that I was failing miserably at showing even the slightest bit of
respect, albeit unintentionally.
"Officer, I'm sorry. My mind is obviously not with me today."
"Right." The slight turn of his head conveyed the same level of
perturbed indifference as the elongated 'riiight' he'd voiced. "You
were going 47 in a 35 zone. I can't let this go since you were over
10 miles per hour above the limit. I need to write you a ticket for
careless driving which will be four points and $100. If you pay it
within 20 days, it'll be reduced automatically at the courthouse to a
`failure to signal' citation, two points and 75 bucks. Your choice."
"Yeah, Officer ... uh ..." my eyes quickly scan his uniform
front, then spied the slim gold name tag, "Hunt. I wasn't paying
attention, just following that flatbed and I don't usually drive this
stretch so late in the morning, but I was dawdling and late for work
and my friend, Barry, had just distracted ..."
"Right." His head dipped once in a further display of perturbed
indifference. "I'll take your license, registration and insurance
proof now if it's all right with you."
I had to chuckle. The guy was just doing his job and I was in
the wrong. Plus, for god's sake, he was just too hunky for words. I
know I shouldn't be thinking this way at a time like this, but
honestly, I was more than a little flustered by the guy. My mind
even flashed briefly on the thought that the City of Oak Ridge had
hired this `Adonis' for the sole purpose of flustering hysterical
women and horny queers. Lord knows there weren't any cops on the
Denver Police force that were this god-like, this full of magnetism.
At least I'd not met them.
The thought made me chuckle again. I handed my information to
the officer, my head giving a resigned but humorous shake. "Sure
Officer. Sorry to keep zoning out on ya."
As I handed the cards to Mr. Law, I saw what looked like a
slight twinkle in his eyes behind the stylish lenses. "Right." I
tried to determine what color his eyes were, but the glasses
prevented any kind of color recognition. My desires were fueled
enough by one look at his so sexy, so lick-able earlobes and the
triangle of white material flashing brightly from beneath his opened
shirt collar. `Good god, man,' I heard myself say. `Get a hold of
yourself!'
He turned and proceeded to his cruiser. My eyes were riveted to
his retreating form. Ok ... my eyes were riveted to his butt. Cut
me some slack. His dark-blue uniform fit snugly over his shoulders,
trim waist, and chiseled posterior, with the cut of the cloth causing
a slight overhang ending with the leg cloth dropping straight and
sure from his rear. It was a glorious view even if brief and through
my side mirror. Unfortunately, it's true what the little white
letters say. Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.
This was one time I hated the distortion!
In short order, Officer Hunt exited his cruiser, ticket book in
hand and nonchalantly made his way to my window. Man, he was hot to
watch in action. I had not wasted my time either while he was busily
writing my ticket. My mind had quickly accessed one of my many
fantasies about cops whipping their equipment out and, while standing
close to the door, enjoying a little civilian appreciation. But with
his appearance at my real-life window , I was again pulled back to
the moment at hand.
"James, if you choose to pay this ticket ..."
"It's Daniel."
"Pardon me?"
"My name, I go by Daniel. It's my middle name. James Daniel."
A slow nod of his head combined with a `whatever' shake answered
my clarification. "Right. Daniel. If you choose to pay this ticket
within 20 days, it'll be just two points and the reduced fine. You
can mail the payment to this address." His hand holding the ticket
along with the other hand pointing to the address were roughly at his
crotch level. I mean, c'mon! What was I supposed to do?
Obviously he saw where my gaze was fixed and with one final
'Right', he handed me the ticket, told me to drive safely and turned
back towards his vehicle. Now, I've never been one to make the same
mistake twice, so instead of using the side mirror, I stuck my head
out the window and looking back at the retreating vision and said,
"Thanks, Officer."
He waved without looking back so my gaze lingered on the sheer
beauty of watching his firm butt do what it was placed on this earth
to do ... fuel years worth of my future fantasies!
I pulled my head inside the window as he reached his door, but
in my mirror I saw him look at my car and shake his head one last
time. Dang! He'd caught me again!
* * *
So now, two months later, as Officer Hunt approached my vehicle,
my heart beat madly in my chest. Surely, he was just stopping me to
be nice, maybe give me a warning for my slightly awkward turn. What
else could it be?
"License, registration and insurance proof, please." As I
handed him the documents, he continued. "And would you mind
explaining to me what that turn was all about back there?"
I turned my head to look at him and a damnable gasp left my
lips. He was more stunning than I'd remembered. My body sagged
slightly in wonder at his overwhelming jaw line, his short-cropped
but slightly spiked, yet messy golden hair, his partially opened lips
showing brilliantly white teeth and his perfectly muscled forearm,
lightly covered with more golden fur. This was not fair, Damnit!
I'm going to do it again, make a complete fool out of myself and all
because frickin' Barry has gotten me so worked up with his escapades
that my little head over-ruled my big head and caused me to turn
once again into this cop's life.
Stammering like a adolescent boy getting his first look at a set
of boobies, I careened into my response. "Sorry, I guess I made my
decision to turn a little too late. Honest, Officer Hunk ..." Oh
God! Oh, Man! Damn! DAMN! I did not just say that!
A gasp, similar to my earlier one, jetted from the lips of the
astonished officer. His mouth dropped and he shook his head once in
stunned surprise, then smiled with what looked like humor, but at the
moment I couldn't be sure of anything.
"I ... I... mean Hunt. Officer Hunt. Uh ... sorry ... I was
just taking a short cut to work." My laughter at the situation had
started to swell within me at this point. In all honesty, if the
laughter had emerged, my hysterics would have been legendary -- if
not possibly fatal. He'd have needed to shoot me to get me to shut
up. So, with a genuinely embarrassed and hesitant smile, I blazed
on. "Uh ... sorry if I took you away from more important matters.
Honest, Officer ... uh ...I did learn my lesson last time."
"Right. I can see that. Don't you work off of 32nd?"
What? How'd he know that?
"Yes ... yes, uh, I do. Over next to the clinic." How'd he
know that? And what's more, why does he remember me? It's been two
months at least!
"So, why the short cut? I mean, it's just one block further."
"Uh ... I wanted .. uh, to see a point of interest." What?
Stupido! God, what a screw up! Damn you, Barry!
Officer Hunk chuckled, then smirked. "Oh please, tell me, what
point of interest does the fine City of Oak Ridge have that is so
compelling to cause, what I assume to be, an upstanding citizen to
lurch around a corner in front of a patrol car all the while winking
at the officer and laughing madly?" His smirk widened noticeably
baring his perfectly formed teeth. "Please, you gotta share the 411
with me on this one."
My blush reached truly from ear to ear, forehead to furries.
What was I to say? Here was my fantasy cop, looking better with two
more months of age on him than I could even dream possible, asking me
to clarify one of my most ludicrous comments to date while staring at
me through his designer sun glasses and flexing his sexy, furry
forearms. I just couldn't think. I had to change the subject,
gather my wits.
"Uh ... would you mind taking off your sunglasses?"
He pulled his head back slightly, looking at me like I was from
Mars. But I had to know what color his eyes were. Irrational, I
know, but I thought it would be sobering to, uh, think of something
else. Granted, I could see his eyes, but the aviator-cop special
secret lens prevented me from knowing what color they actually were.
I could tell they were light colored, but that was about it. I mean,
light-colored could be blue, green, grey or a combination. For all I
knew he could have one of each! Well, you know what I meant. Cut me
some slack, I was so flustered!
He shrugged then pulled the glasses from his face and turned the
most incredibly rich cerulean-blue eyes towards me. My reaction,
truly classic old queer, was to flinch. First my body flinched, then
my groin followed. He was more beautiful than I could have fathomed.
I grunted a cough to cover the moan I was really feeling.
"Please, put them back on." My voice croaked as I offered a
cheesy, fake smile. He looked at me with a twisted expression of
disbelief and incomprehension. His face scrunched and he said,
"Whatever, Daniel."
His voice uttering my name caused a chill to run the length of
my spine. It seemed to come from Eros himself. My mouth dropped
open with my own disbelief. How in the hell did he remember my name?
This was getting way too weird for me. Sure, I was acting like a
love-struck, 1960's teenage girl at a Beatles concert. That was bad
enough. But it didn't help matters any that the cop that had given
me a ticket two months earlier seemed to remember me. It was
definitely shaping into a Twilight Zone or Bermuda Triangle morning!
Finally, a voice in my head shouted, `Forget about all this!
Answer his question then get out of here!'
"Uh, I'm very sorry, Officer. What was your question?"
With a snort, he pressed the glasses back to his face. "What was
the 'point of interest' that caused your erratic driving?"
I decided that the gig was up. Actually, I needed it to end if
there was any hope of preserving the least bit of self-esteem, so I
took the safety locks off of both barrels and gave it my best shot.
"I wanted to see if it was you in the squad car."
His eyes opened wide as he looked at me over the top of his cop-
aviators. I rushed on. "I've looked for you since that day in July.
I ... I just wanted another look at you, so again I did something
stupid and turned ... well I guess lurched is a better description
... I lurched onto 33rd and when I saw it was you, all I could do was
smile. I can't believe I followed the smile with a wink. The whole
thing suddenly overwhelmed me and I laughed." I stopped to watch my
words sink in. Then, with a small grin added, "I did remember to use
my turn signal, Officer."
My explanation had the desired effect. It was his turn to
stumble. "Uh, yes ... yes, you did. Funny how I caught that even
as your surprise wink sunk in." Then his own embarrassment surfaced
and he pulled himself back a step from the window.
"I need to get back to my spot. Uh ... please, drive safely
Dan. I'd hate to have to cite you again."
"Yeah. I will." I said, my eyes purposely averted to only allow
a quick glance his way. "Sorry to interrupt your work, Officer.
Please, have a good day and ... thanks."
He nodded, giving me one last look and turned towards his car.
This time, I forced myself to start my vehicle and pull from the curb
without a backwards glance. I'd had enough. I was too old for this
crap. What was I thinking. I picked up my cell phone earpiece and
punched in Barry's office number. His voice mail picked up.
Suddenly I was furious with him. Irrational? Yes. Was I going to
hold back? Absolutely not! "You better call me Barry. This is all
your fault!"
* * *
I spent the next hour and a half pacing around my office. When
I bummed my second cigarette from my assistant she held it out of
reach, demanding to know what was wrong. I mumbled something about
it should be mandatory that Oak Ridge's finest be as big of duds as
Denver's finest and stomped outside to suck a little more poison into
my lungs. I didn't really mean it about Denver's finest. I'm sure
their stud quotient was in keeping with other departments, but why
did my encounters with this tiny suburb's civil servants have to be
with their resident poster child for stud cops? I mean, honestly!
Finally my pacing wasted enough time and helped to calm me to a
point where I could return to my desk in time for my noon on-line
chat with my friend, Gerhard, on the other side of the Atlantic. I
know what you're thinking! Does this guy ever actually work? Like I
said earlier, I have an ok job. I bust my butt when needed. Today,
obviously I had other needs to fulfill.
Ten minutes into my diatribe with Gerhard, actually it was more
of a manic monologue, my assistant buzzed me that I had an official-
looking visitor. I asked Gerhard to hold for a second and proceeded
to the conference room located just off the entry foyer.
Sometimes, there are experiences or warnings in life that
actually prepare you for major shocks. Unfortunately, I hadn't been
prepped yet for this one. There, standing next to the conference
table, lit from behind by the noon sunshine which streamed through
the windows, stood Officer Hunt; cop hat in hand, face turned
demurely downwards, yet with those brilliant blue eyes fixed
inexorably on my face.
I froze. My expression, a mask placed in zero-response
transmission mode, conveyed my shock. I stared back. The intensity
of his look filled me with butterflies in the first moment and heart
palpitations the next. He held my gaze for a moment until he licked
his lips and went to speak.
"Hi." His voice, modest and uncertain yet at the same time rich
and melodic, was enough to break through my mask.
"Officer Hunt." A grin briefly crossed my lips and remained in
my eyes. "What are you doing here? I mean, what can I do for you?"
My assistant hovered behind me until I turned and asked her if
she'd finished the copies I'd requested. Taking my hint, she quickly
left us to ourselves. I knew I'd hired her for some good reason.
"Sorry to just show up like this Dan ... Daniel, but I just
called in for my lunch break and was heading for the park up the
street."
I tilted my head in query. My eyebrows raised slightly in
invitation for him to continue. "And, well, I brought two sandwiches
with me today and thought maybe I would see if ... I don't know ...
uh, maybe this isn't such a hot idea."
I melted on the spot. Just mop me up and throw me away with the
dirty water. Could this be happening? Could this utter, walking
orgasm be here to ask me to join him ... at the park? ... to share
his sandwiches!!! This isn't happening! Oh, Barry! I take back
every maligning, malicious thought I've ever had of you or will have
in the future!
"Sure, Officer. Let me just close out of my net-meeting I'm in
and I'll be right with you!"
His face lit up the room with enough energy and brightness for
the inhabitants of a planet circling Alpha Centauri to see what
they'd think was the birth of a new star!
"It's Tim, by the way."
I paused longed enough to give him my most brilliant, engaging
smile, then raced to my computer and pounded out my apologies to
Gerhard along with an all-caps explanation. :His name is Tim! And I
can't believe it, but he's standing in my conference room asking me
to join him for sandwiches in the park! I know you understand. I'll
email soon! Love ya, ciao!: A smiley face was Gerhard's perfect
response.
On my way through the office I hollered to my assistant that I
was leaving for lunch and within mere seconds, I was following
Officer Tim's butt, I mean, Tim through the door.
He walked straight to his cruiser and I paused. "Um, why don't
we take my car?"
He turned to me, smiling playfully. "Oh, that's ok. I kind of
need to stay with my vehicle. That's ok with you, isn't it?"
My return grin provided my answer.
* * *
The park was only two blocks from my office and straight down
the street between 33rd and 34th. It had been my summer haven. I
wouldn't even try to count the times I'd spent my lunch breaks there,
eating something edible and pouring through another short story I had
downloaded from the net for lunch-time companionship. This park
became my sanctuary from the insanity of my work days and the
incessant phone calls. And if we're talking truths here, nothing, no
other place could have been a more perfect setting to have lunch with
Tim.
Tim! The gods were definitely smiling down on me today! I felt
as giddy as a school boy having just stolen his first kiss. But I
needed an answer to one question.
I looked at Tim as he waited for traffic at 32nd. He looked my
way as he checked the westbound cars and gave me a grin that fused my
shoelaces into one. "May I ask a question, Officer?" My grin
dispelling any formality.
"Sure, anything."
"How'd you know where to find me? I mean, where I worked?"
It was Tim's turn to blush again. His stammer charmed me to my
core. It didn't matter what he said, honestly. Just watching him
was satisfaction enough.
"Oh, man. I knew you were going to ask me that." He darted his
gaze once towards me as he progressed across 32nd. He then sighed
while continuing to watch the road. "I followed you back in July.
After you pulled away, I waited long enough, then followed you and
saw you turn on Fulton Street. Does that freak you out?"
I sniffed my smile and beamed my ok to him. "I wondered," was
all I said in reply.
* * *
The park was fairly empty as we headed across the grass to my
favorite table, stowed nicely behind a set of bushes and trees that
screened me from the main picnic area while affording me a full and
open view of the park. "Over there, that's my favorite spot."
Tim nodded. "Yes." My body lurched to a stop. His reply and
the familiar nature of his 'yes' caused a tingle at the nape of my
neck.
"Have you been following me?"
His surprise at my question, as well as the obvious quilt
covering his expression, closed his light from the world. "No, Dan
... well, sort of." He reached for my shoulder and clasped it
firmly. Sincerity laced his words. "I happened to be sitting in my
car over there." He pointed at the parking area that ran
perpendicular to where I usually parked and where his squad car was
now parked. "I watched you arrive one day with lunch, your cell
phone and some papers. It was like maybe two days after I stopped
you. I just watched what you were doing. Something you were reading
kept making you laugh." His earnest explanation relaxed me and we
progressed to the table. He handed me a sandwich out of his mini-
cooler along with a Dr. Pepper.
"Was I eating healthy or not-so-healthy?" I seriously did not
expect anything more that a laugh in response.
His grin wasn't his whole answer. "Arby's Chicken Fingers and
potato cakes." My shock at his precise recall, not to mention that
he couldn't possibly have seen that from so far a distance was
obvious to him. "I have field binoculars in the car. Standard police
issue."
I shook my head and laughed. I mean, what else could I do? His
response to my laugh was to join me. We ended up giggling like a
couple of kids that had just lit their farts on fire. I honestly
hadn't felt this light-hearted, this alive in years. Still
chuckling, I took a bite out of the sandwich and tasted smoked
turkey, a light mustard, tomatoes and sprouts. Absolutely delicious.
"So how many times have you watched me here?" My question
sobered him slightly. He chewed his own bite thoughtfully. Then, his
irrepressible smile returned almost immediately.
"Oh, a few."
"And how many is a few?"
"Maybe ... ten or twelve times."
My jaw dropped, thank goodness I'd swallowed my last bite. "Ten
or twelve times?" My expression turned from shock into realization.
"That was your squad car sitting over there all those times? And you
never thought about coming over for a closer look or a hello?" My
widely-opened eyes and the incredulous look on my face must have
shared my confusion and slight disappointment. His face clouded
briefly before he answered.
"Well, c'mon Dan, what was I going to say to you if I did just
happen to wander over? 'Hi, remember me? I gave you the ticket for
75 bucks. Sorry, but you were speeding. I think you're hot. Wanna
go do it in the bushes?' Not likely, Dan. That stuff only happens in
bad romance stories."
My enjoyment of watching him speak, watching him take a bite out
of his sandwich or a chip from the baggie laying between us, watching
him breathe and smile ... was boundless and overwhelming. His voice
filled the air around him with the same richness that comes from a
perfectly tuned, perfectly played saxophone. The sun graced his
hair, stirring it with a hue unlike any accent ever captured by the
world's greatest artists. I could look at him till the earth
crumbled to dust and remain content; the man of all my dreams. And
in there lay the rub.
What was this pup wanting or seeing in a 42-year-old graying
business man? I was close to twice his age, for crying out loud and
even if he and I could put our ages aside, my efforts over the years
at keeping my body in shape had only been half-hearted at best. His
body was rock hard from what I'd seen through his uniform, lithe, yet
proportioned to his height. And I've already said enough about his
ass. Truly, DaVinci couldn't have carved a more perfect butt. So
what were we ...
"Hey. You've gone all quiet on me and you're scowling. What's
the matter?" Concern etched his brow, turning his exquisitely
perfect countenance into one of worry.
I sighed. Might as well lay it out. I don't think I could lie
to this man, even to save my soul from the Christians! "Tim, I'm
flattered. More than you could ever imagine. Trust me, the fact
that a guy as charming, good-looking and obviously as intelligent as
you, not to mention that you're a walking cumshot, is interested in
me, blows me away. I can't lie and say I understand it, because I
don't. But, c'mon stud, you're what ... all of 25 maybe? Next
year?" His eyes darkened slightly. I could tell I'd upset him
with my age comment. But he had to see things from my perspective.
"I'm 42. You're young -- with tons of men still ahead of you to
sample, choose from. I'm not so young. Don't get me wrong, I'm not
old, nor do I feel that way, but in comparison to you ... I almost
feel like a cradle robber." He flinched as I said that and went to
speak. I stopped him quickly.
"Please, let me finish ... I'm just about there." I swallowed
deliberately. "Tim, look at me." His unprotected gaze focused on my
eyes, hurt mixed with desire and determination blazed across the
table at me almost causing me to say, 'shut the hell up, Danny boy
and just enjoy the moment!'. But my resolve crystallized once again.
"Damn, Tim, I almost wish you'd put your glasses on again." My
half-hearted try at lightening the mood fizzled in a big way. The
last remnants of his smile dropped, leaving a serious and slightly
angry face staring at me. Our half eaten meal now rested on the
table, forgotten. "Look closely at me. I can't even in my wildest
imagination feel like I'm your ideal match. You're athletic, I'm
used to watching athletes. I like to savor wine and guzzle Scotch,
you probably are still into shots and beer busts. To each his own,
right? But if you'll just let yourself think about it for a second,
you'll see I'm right. I like men a little younger than myself, who
doesn't, but 17 years is a stretch even for me. Please, Tim, you've
got to consider ..."
"Bullshit, Dan. I've heard enough," his voice a low, quiet
growl. Flaring intensity surged towards me from his crystal blue
eyes that now narrowed with emotion. "First of all, you can forget
the 17 year difference shit that you seem so fond of. I'm 32 and
turned so a week before I stopped you in July. You're 42, just. And
yes, I looked at your birthday on your license. That's a shitty,
damn picture, by the way. But you can just forget that crap about
our ages because we're less than ten years apart. Now it's time you
listen to me ... old man." His remark would have been funny if he
hadn't delivered it with such forced disdain.
"I've watched you from almost the first day I stopped you. One,
because I found your reaction to me during the stop quite humorous
and at the same time curiously drawing, and two, because I happen to
like older men. See, I never really dreamed I'd get the chance
again, as I did this morning, to see you look at me with that intense
desire you poured my way that first day. Do you know how hard that
made my dick? How I had to take deep breaths while I wrote out your
ticket, just so I didn't embarrass my self when I got out of the car?
I was blown away by how flustered you were then by my mere proximity.
It was a very self-satisfying feeling. I wanted to grin like a mad
man. But today, when you groaned after I took off my glasses -- I
thought my chest would explode with sheer, overwhelming tenderness.
I wanted to stick my head through your window and place kisses on
every inch of your incredible face, the same one I'd secretly,
excitedly studied from my car throughout the summer. But I was on
the job this morning, just like I was in July. I never compromise
that. That's why when I saw you here two days later, I watched you.
"I'm sure you don't remember that day, but I do. After you'd
eaten and read for a while, you took your trash to the can by the
restrooms and then stopped on your way to your car to speak to a few
of the mentally handicapped residents of the group home from up the
street. I was mesmerized by how you so naturally talked with them,
touched their shoulders, hugged that one guy that came bounding over
to you. You didn't pull away and even waved off the staff member
that tried to get the guy to let go. I watched all of that, Dan, and
as dumb as it sounds, I think I fell in love with you, just a little,
that day.
"So I started taking my lunches here around that time. Yes, I
knew where you worked. I could have come by like I finally did
today, but I also have my own insecurities. I thought, 'what could I
possibly say that would interest you? What could a street cop share
with an accomplished business man like yourself that would entice you
not to discount me out of turn?' I mean, shit, I drove by your
office once and you were outside with some phone headset on, pacing
around the yard, arms gesturing wildly. You looked up as I passed,
but didn't focus on me. While my heart jumped in my chest, you
looked past me, or better yet, through me. Sure, it was just a
moment, but your command of whatever situation you were dealing with,
your focus, aroused me to no end.
"And before you go on about your looks or your body, I'm not so
na‹ve to think your hair is naturally blond with bits of grey coming
through. Clairol number nine, or whatever you use, keeps you looking
just fine in my book. I've probably got grey hairs of my own by now,
just never looked. And about that roll of fat that you keep trying
to suck in? Forget it. It doesn't matter to me. It's the whole
package of you that turns me on. It did in July, it does now."
Just then, the radio attached to his shoulder squawked to life.
:Hunt, this is base. You still out there?:
Tim slowly reached for the radio, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Yeah, Cap, sorry. I'm kind of wrapped up in something personal and
I lost track of time. Could I have a full hour today? I'll make up
the time on the end of my shift if that's ok?"
I could barely blink. His stare pierced through me, compelling
my returned focus, and in a major surprise, bringing my nipples to
sharp hardness by the desire he conveyed with his eyes alone. I'd
never felt a person focus on me so strongly, so intently before. My
reaction was purely physical as I watched him purse his lips slowly,
listening to his Captain's ok and sign-off.
His hand slowly dropped from the radio then it turned upwards as
he rubbed his mouth slowly with deliberate action. "Where was I?"
My grin refused to remain hidden. "I think you were just
telling me and your Captain that you wanted to take me into the
bushes and have your way with me." My grin burst into a smile as his
face momentarily raise in shock. Then he joined me in a grin.
"Aw, Man! You just cut right through all my serious, well-
thought out and planned shit! I've been rehearsing that speech for
months, never knowing if I'd ever get a chance to use it."
"Tim." I couldn't fight it any longer. It was time to see what
could happen if I gave myself a green light. "Please forgive my
insecurities, would you? At my age, you kind of get accustomed to
certain ways of thinking, certain ideas about how life goes." I
reached my hands across the table, clasping both of his in my own. I
recognized a similar, shared trembling in our touch. "I'd love to
take you into the bushes," my grin belying my words. "Or maybe to
dinner tonight so we can continue with this incredible day together.
What say you to that, Pup?"
Tim jumped to his feet with a loud 'Woohoo!' "Seriously, Dan?"
his face beamed with excitement and relief. "God, that'd be great!
I'll be finished by four." The sun dimmed in deference to his smile
and I, caught up in the sheer lift from his excitement, lit up like
a kid with free range in a toy store. "Why don't I swing by after I
finish and we can head over to J.R.'s for a couple of drinks before
dinner?"
I laughed at his exuberance and was similarly infected with a
batch of my own. "You know, Officer Hunt, while I find your uniform
unbelievably sexy and erotic, especially when you're walking away
from me," his grin widened at my wink, "maybe you should change first
and we can meet up at the bar."
"No worries, stud. I'll change at the station with the other
guys."
"Now that's something I wouldn't mind seeing."
"Dirty old man!" My laughter was sweet and bright. "I promise
I'll be fresh and ready to go."
Unable to resist my urge to be closer to him, I came around the
table to his side and touched the back of his arm. His bicep flexed
involuntarily and he grinned towards me in recognition of the spark
we both felt. He turned to face me and took my face into his
trembling hands, pulling my head towards him, caressing my lips with
his. I opened to his kiss, arms encircling his broad, firm back,
pulling him against my trembling body.
Shooting stars streaked across my closed lids as the earth moved
and stars shone their final light. I was in bliss. I heard him
groan in acknowledgment of the same. This really was happening, my
fantasy cop, my Officer Hunk, had his burning lips permanently
attached to mine while his tongue feverishly battled with my own.

Needless to say, the rest of my afternoon was completely shot.
I was shut out of any possible constructive work and settled on
returning phone calls. Luckily I took lots of notes so I'd have
something to go on when I returned to the office in the morning.
Around four, my assistant buzzed me that I had a returning
visitor. My heart lurched as I thanked her, asking her to tell the
officer I'd be out in a minute. Her response of 'he sure doesn't
look like an officer now' caused my groin to lurch yet again. I
quickly grabbed my suit coat along with my keys, phone and PDA, then
barreled out the door to my office only to be greeted with a sight
that stopped me in my tracks.
Tim stood before me dressed in a white cotton pullover v-neck
that accented his broad, muscled chest and narrow waist. The sleeves
were pulled midway up his arms, leaving his sculpted, hairy forearms
exposed. My eyes zeroed in on the bulge of his crotch that was
accented perfectly by the pair of nicely worn-out 501's.
He smiled radiantly at me, then raised his arms and slowly
turned for my inspection. When his perfectly molded butt came into
view, I shared a gasp with my assistant who again hovered directly
behind me.
"Is this ok?" he asked innocently, but with all the sensuality
of an accomplished predator. "It's all I had at the station."
I threw my head back and roared my laughter. "Oh, god, Tim!
You look just fine, Pup. But I'm now seriously over-dressed. Why
don't you follow me to my place and let me change into some less
suity?"

We didn't make it to the bar that night, nor to dinner. We
shared an order of Lo Mein and a bottle of wine in between seemingly
never-ending orgasmic sex; the first occurring in the entryway of my
house.
Tim took me forcefully, passionately and without restraint. My
cries, also unrestrained and prolonged, echoed my own needful
abandon. The second time he took me was during the Lo Mein. He used
his tongue to clean residual sweet and sour sauce from the corner of
my mouth. The simple, sensuous touch of his tongue on my cheek
caused me to collapse into his arms, prompting him to roll me onto my
back where he made endless love to my entire being.
Later, after the rest of the wine over a shared fortune cookie
and many intimate, soft words, I showed my Pup just how far a little
seasoned experience can take the act of making love. His cries
echoed through the open bedroom windows as I pinned his hands next to
his face and brought us to a pinnacle of sexual release I'd
personally never previously experienced. His purr of contentment as
I laid my body onto his still shuddering and now slick, wet chest
confirmed his shared experience.
And then, later, as he slept in my arms, head nestled to my
chest, I smiled. While it would definitely be an edited version that
I shared with Barry, my wonderful 'just another Wednesday' would
forever be mine and Tim's alone. And as I hugged Tim tightly to me,
placing my softest kiss on his peaceful and relaxed brow, I couldn't
help but look forward to Thursday and Friday and Saturday and ....
The End
