Subject: Kane & Spencer. Chapter Six.
`Well! What was he like?' Tracey asked as he took his dress off.
`Not as gorgeous looking as you darling,' I said, seeing how he'd begun
to tan nicely and it went well with the underwear he was wearing, though if
he got a really good tan, maybe white stockings and things would look even
better.
`I mean in the other department,' he said, now taking off the underwear
as I undressed too.
`Well I pumped him for information, but I get more pleasure out of
pumping you,' I said as I waggled my erection at him as I got into bed.
`Is his cock as big as yours?' he asked as he too got into bed beside
me.
`No.'
`But bigger than mine?'
`A little,' I said, trying to be diplomatic.
`Aw come on! Give me a bit more detail,' he said.
`Well,' I began, getting a condom out of the drawer. `I put one of these
on like this,' taking my time in doing so, `and then he went onto his
knees, like this.' I dragged Tracey up and turned him over till he was in
position. `His bum was fatter than yours,' as I stroked his cheeks, `and
definitely more sun tanned than these.'
`Oooh,' was the frustrated moan from below.
`His waist was thicker,' and I ran my hands over his hips and up and
down about the waist. `I moved in closer till I touched him like this,' and
let my cock head nuzzle his backside. `Then I pushed in hard,' and I
suddenly rammed myself inside him, not giving him a chance to be ready for
it.
`Jesus H. Christ!' he cried out as our bodies came together with a loud
slap.
`Then I was in him like now. He loved it as much as you do,' I said as I
began to move in and out.
`But what was the difference?' Tracey gasped out as I fucked him.
`None at all really, but there again,' I gave a few very quick sharp
stabs into him. `Yes, yes, you are a little bit tighter and a better fuck
than he was.'
`Oooh, keep talking dirty to me,' he begged.
`So I much prefer to keep sticking my cock up into my wife for she has a
far better looking face and body and a tighter hole that is just right for
this cock of mine that I'm moving in and out of.' I was really going now
and hammering myself hard against his rear and then came. I hugged him
tight as I jerked my hips as I came in those short bursts.
`You didn't...say you...loved him...did you?' He asked in between the
jabs I was giving him.
`I'll never say that to anyone but you,' I panted as I leaned on his
back for a moment. He gave out a cry as I pulled out and went and got rid
of the condom. When I got back, the sheet was down the bed and Tracey was
laying the opposite way and so I knew what he wanted me to do.
I lay down next to him and he was quickly onto my still erect cock to
suck out the last drops while I took his into my mouth and sucked on him
till he came. We then kissed and giggled as he knew I had held back some of
his sperm to pass across.
Before we fell asleep, I told him what I planned to do in respect of Bee
Bee and he was delighted that we were going to have another go at him.
Ferdie woke us up by knocking at the door and I shouted out for him to
come in. Tracey coyly going down under the covers.
`There's a guy here with a trolley full of breakfast things and he wants
a signature.'
`Okay,' I said, getting out of bed and walking into the other room
naked. I didn't care who saw me like this for I was half hard but it still
looked as though it was limp, so it looked very good. The waiter got an
eyeful as I signed the check and Ferdie had a mouthful as soon as the door
was closed. I glanced back and our door was almost closed and Tracey
couldn't see us, so I let him continue to suck on me and I held his head
firm in my hands as he let me take over to face fuck him. He rolled his
eyes up at me in pleasure as I came in his mouth and even gave me a wink as
he swallowed and gave me a quick lick after I pulled out. He'd even had his
own cock out and had jerked himself off to come all over the carpet as he
had sucked on me.
I sat down at the table and began to butter some toast so as to give
time for my cock to subside.
`Do you want your breakfast in there?' I called out.
`No. I'm coming,' Tracey called back.
`I've just come myself,' I murmured in a low voice. `Help yourself
Ferdie,' I then said in a normal voice. `There's enough for the three of
us.' Tracey came into the room then, wearing the big fluffy bathrobe. I
guessed he put on his padded bra first because you could see the little
mounds that should have been breasts beneath the robe.
`Why didn't you put some clothes on first?' he said to me. `It's not
seemly to eat naked like that.'
`Food and coffee was more important first,' I said round a piece of
toast. `Besides, you both have seen me like this before, so why should I be
shy now?'
`Well it's not polite,' he said with a sniff. `You wouldn't sit down to
breakfast like that in the Governor's house, would you?'
`It would depend on whether I'd fucked the Governor really.' Ferdie
almost choked on his coffee at this and quickly apologised and wiped his
mouth on a napkin. Tracey let this pass and we carried on eating.
`Well Ferdie. We are leaving today and we had better see to getting you
up to the villa.' I went over to the phone and asked them downstairs of the
cost of a flight to Freeport. They told me and I went into the bedroom and
counted out some money and then gave it to Ferdie. He protested, but I
forced it on him. `There's also enough there for a taxi to take you to the
airport. You might even have some left over for the other end.' I'd put on
a bathrobe now and so we shook hands and he kissed Tracey's hand and we
promised to look him up next time we were out this way. He had a huge smile
on his face as he left us.
`We're leaving?' Tracey asked. `I thought we were going to see to Bee
Bee?'
`We are. But don't forget, Ferdie is going back to the villa. I left a
message last night that he would be back and that the English couple were
going back to England. Now Ferdie knows us as Sir Michael and Lady
Kingsley, maybe not the surname, but if he is asked questions by Bee Bee,
he'll only tell him what he knows.'
`Right,' Tracey breathed out, now understanding. `When do the troops
arrive?'
`Troopers, not troops. Colin and Donald. At ten o'clock, so let's get
dressed to go and meet them.'
`What about Ferdie? He'll be at the airport.'
`I hope not. His plane leaves at nine thirty.'
`You think of everything,' Tracey said, coming and sitting on my lap,
wiggling his bottom. `Have we got time for a little bit of fun?'
`No,' I said.
`I didn't think so after you letting him have it.'
`What?'
`I peeked round the door and saw him down on his knees. He must really
have enjoyed you last night. I can also say that yes, he is a little bit
bigger than me, but I would have liked the chance for a closer inspection.'
`Know your place woman,' I said sternly, somewhat mortified that my
darling Tracey had seen me being sucked off by Ferdie.
`Yes my darling husband. As long as you know you can only fuck somebody
else if I say so.' It was said with such a sweet smile that I couldn't help
but laugh and give him a kiss.
`Come on. Let's get dressed. We've got lots to do today,' but then I
noticed the morning paper underneath the trolley. I pulled it out and there
on the front page was a picture of the yacht Vespa. Mysterious explosion at
sea, ran the leader above the picture. The yacht Vespa, owned by Sir
Bertram Bingham, sunk after an explosion twenty miles north of Nassau. Sir
Bingham and most of the crew and guests made it safely to Freeport in the
boat's dinghy and three other survivors were picked up by a Lyon Island
boat and carried to Nassau. Sir Bingham was unavailable for comment and
police are now investigating.
`Do you think the police will be asking us questions?' Tracey asked.
`They'll have a job of finding Sir Michael and Lady Kingsley now,
wouldn't they?' I grinned. `Come on Mrs. Kane, let's get dressed.'
`Lady Kane has a better ring to it,' he said as he flounced out of the
room. I laughed and followed him, giving him a smack on the bottom as I did
so.
We took a taxi to the airport and got there just as the plane landed
from London. As they didn't have to wait for baggage, Colin and Donald were
amongst the first to emerge from customs. They looked tired but their faces
lit up at seeing us and it was handshakes all round.
`Why couldn't it be for a week?' Colin asked. `Sun, sand and sea'
`The captain canna' afford it,' Donald said, being the Scotsman he was.
`Now I know you're tired, but you can sleep later. There's things to get
before you do. You can sleep the afternoon and half the evening away once
we've got everything settled.' I was saying this as we left the airport and
got into a taxi to take us to the hotel. We didn't speak in the car for
these two men knew when to keep silent.
I bought some large sheets of paper from the hotel lobby's newsagent and
led them to the lift and up to our suite. With some bottles of beer in our
hands, I drew some sketches of the villa and lay-out as described by Ferdie
and told them what I wanted to do. I then let them make suggestions as to
the how of it and they came round to the same procedure that I had
planned. But it gave them the satisfaction of having had some say in the
operation instead of just being told what to do.
We all then went to Garibaldi's to find what we wanted. I'd changed a
fistful of sterling into dollars, U.S., because they took them as much as
Bahamian dollars, the exchange rate being the same.
It didn't look much of a store from the front but we went inside to be
greeted by a youth that looked at us a bit warily, three big men and a
woman coming into the shop.
`I would like to speak to Samson please,' I said quite pleasantly.
`Boss man not here,' the youth said.
`Then tell boss man not here, that I am Marcus Kane and though I didn't
actually know Francis Lyon, she and I are, or were, in the same sort of
business.'
`A pity you didn't know Miss Francis,' a big man said, coming from
behind a beaded curtain. `A fine woman, and so was her brother, Sir
Gervaise. How do you know of Miss Francis?'
`Well we sort of both had dealings with certain people in London. Well I
still do, though Miss Francis does not any longer. You might say we work
for the same firm. Oh, I have this for the boatmen from Lyon Island,' and I
gave him a hundred dollars, `for pulling us out of the sea yesterday.'
`Ah, Sir Michael and Lady Kingsley.'
`Yes. They are on their way to London at this very moment. This is
Mrs. Kane by the way,' I said, bringing Tracey to the front, `and these two
gentlemen have come over especially to help me in what I have to do.
Now I need two grappling irons, padded and with knotted rope. About
twenty five foot or so. A car, with a driver at Freeport airport for about
two hours. A plane to take us four there and bring five back. Then, I
wonder if it is possible to hire one of the Lyon Airways plane's to take us
to London and then, turn round and bring us back?'
`I'd have to speak to somebody else about the last, but yes, I think it
could be arranged, for when?'
`Say about six in the morning.'
`I take it that the extra one coming back to Nassau would be Sir
Bingham?'
`Correct. He's wanted quite urgently in London, and we are here to see
he gets there.'
`I always knew he was dirty. He would have come unstuck if he'd have
tried anything here,' Samson said.
`There are a couple of other things as well that I haven't mentioned
yet. I need something to keep him quiet and yet still able to walk, and
then something to shut him up completely for about ten hours.' He chuckled.
`Know exactly what you want there.'
`Then a small amount of explosive as I want to get into his safe, but
not blow the contents to smithereens. Something like XR2.'
`That I don't have.'
`No matter. I know where there is some.' He grinned at me.
`Get a bit extra and we could do a trade.' I laughed and thought it was
a damn good idea. `You want all this for tonight then?'
`That was the general idea.'
`Okay. See me here at seven and if you can give me some XR2, we've got a
deal. The planes are extra.'
`Fine. Thanks for your help Samson.'
`You're welcome.'
So we trooped out and walked along the harbour for the short distance to
the Hilton. The others understood that it was to be grappling hooks to
scale the balustrade to the second floor. Sedate Bee Bee to get him to the
airport. Plane from Freeport to Nassau and then onto another plane to hand
him over to the Special Branch.
Up in the suite, I said that they could get some sleep in our bed, but
not to do what we did in there. They laughed as they looked at each other
and both shook their heads. I said I would wake them much later and so they
should get at least seven hours kip and I would have a meal ready for them
when I did so.
Tracey and I left them to bed down for it was really their night time
having left England so long ago. We went off to pay a visit to Dennis
Carson. I phoned before we left so that he would be expecting us and on
giving my name to the doorman, he phoned downstairs and we soon were
shaking hands with him again before being led down to his little office.
`Well I see that there's some of the stuff I won't be getting back,' he
said as he tapped the newspaper.
`One hell of a bang it was too,' I said as I smiled at him.
`So what is it you're after now?'
`A bit more. Don't look alarmed. I only want about half the size and a
couple of detonators to go with it. No, let's say four.'
`Ah, well I suppose I could,' he started off.
`If it's a question of money, I can pay for them,' I said.
`It's not the question of how much it's worth, it's the tax payer who
foots that bill. It's just that I have to account for where and what it is
used for.'
`For Queen and country,' I said sardonically. `As long as I'm not doing
the law abiding citizens any harm, what's a few ounces of explosive?' He
gave a snort and a sigh and left the office for about ten minutes and came
back and placed a lump of this plastique and four detonators on the desk.
`Is this all?'
`Yes thank you Dennis. For the rest we will just have to make do with
what we can find.' I used different pockets to store what he'd given us and
shook hands. `Maybe we can do business again.' He gave me a sick smile in
return.
We didn't go to the hotel but opted for a snack instead of a proper
lunch and a couple of beers at a local pub. Then we went back to the hotel
and being quiet so as not to wake the other two, settled on the sofa and
had a nap, nestled in each other's arms.
I woke up with pins and needles in my arm and found that it was half
past six. I eased myself out from under Tracey without waking him and went
out to see Samson. I was there just before seven, but that didn't matter
for he had all what I'd asked for. I then pulled out the explosive and he
told me exactly how much I would need for a safe door, so I let him have
the rest and three of the detonators in exchange for the grappling irons,
the prongs covered in felt, with the ropes attached. I said that he could
have these back if I got the chance.
`Just leave them with the car driver in Freeport.'
`Can we trust him?' I asked.
`It will be my brother-in-law, so you've no worries on that side. The
plane will be standing by from three o'clock to take you to Freeport. It's
only thirty minutes. Then it will bring you back to Nassau to meet up with
a Lyon jet that has a takeoff slot at six. It is solely for your use and
will land at Heathrow at about nine their time. One hour for checks and
refuelling and a change of crew, it will take off again at about ten,
again, their time for the return flight.'
`Perfect,' I said, and blanched at the cost, but paid him.
`The jet we've provided you with does have two cabins with beds in, so
it is really a luxury flight which I'm sure you will enjoy. All meals and
drinks are free.'
`I should hope so at that price.'
So I was all set with my materials, men and flights and the rest, so I
went back to the hotel in high spirits. Then had the horrible thought that
the bastard might not be at the villa to sleep. He might of gone off
somewhere else. This slowed me down, but there wasn't anything I could do
about it if he did. I would just have to chase after him if he got away
again. I'd found him once, though only by luck, but I wasn't going to let
him get away again.
I woke Tracey up by lifting his dress up and taking him into my mouth
and sucking on him. He gave out a few groans and then stretched and gave my
hair a ruffle as he came erect and finally spent himself in my mouth.
`What a darling,' he said sleepily as he finished coming and I swallowed
it before kissing him. `You do know the right way to get round me. Tell me
what you want and you shall have it.'
`You with your dress off.'
`The others might walk in and then where would we be?'
`Having a fuck?' I got a slap and a smile for that.
`Have you ordered dinner yet?'
`No. I waited to see what you wanted before I ordered. They will have to
take pot luck.'
Tracey fancied a steak and so did I, so it was four medium steaks and
all the trimmings I ordered and then went and woke up the two men. Giving
them time to wake up properly and have a wash or whatever they wanted to
do.
We took our time over the meal for we had lots of time to spare. We then
checked the equipment and went over the plan again. I didn't expect to
spend more than thirty minutes at the villa for the snatch and so our
schedule was that we left Nassau at three. Land at half past. Allow fifteen
minutes to the villa. Half hour there to grab him. Fifteen minutes back
brought us to half past four. Thirty minute flight back to Nassau gave us
enough time to get him loaded aboard well in time for the six o'clock take
off.
It sounded good and it was good, and like all good soldiers, one at
least had a pack of cards to while away the time till the off. Though
Tracey declined when, with a smirk, strip poker was suggested. It came down
to whist with four of us playing. It was a less acrimonious game and it was
only one partner shouting at the other for a stupid play. We packed up at
two and began to get our things together and have one last run through of
what we were going to do. I also remembered to include our passport in our
things.
We left the hotel and got one of the never sleeping taxi drivers to take
us to the airport with one big bag. It didn't take long to get there and
our plane was waiting for us. We were now getting into a time schedule as
we took off and before we knew it, circling to land at Freeport. There was
only a half crescent moon and the sky so clear you could see more stars
than you would ever be able to count. Though we had a torch, I didn't think
we would need it.
The car and driver supplied by Samson was there waiting for us and soon
took us to the villa.
`Favus House,' said Tracey as we went past on an overall look.
`Christ! The man's bee mad.'
`Why,' I asked, stupidly.
`Favus is the Latin for honeycomb.'
`That's what a college education does for you,' I said to Colin and
Donald, leaning over the seat, for I was sitting next to the driver.
`I bet you can't say it in Celt?' Donald asked in his dour voice.
`No,' Tracey admitted.
`Neither can I,' he replied and went off into a hooting laugh. I liked
this just before an action. It meant that everybody was happy and could
relax with this type of humour. We drove to the far side of the villa and
parked up. We were on the west and landward side and could see quite
clearly in the starlight, the corner of what was Bee Bee's bedroom. The
balcony was just as described, about twenty to twenty five foot off the
ground, a moulded concrete rail supported by small pillars.
`There it is,' I pointed out. `Are we all ready?' They were. They had
the grappling irons and I had the two ampoules and syringes, plus the
plastique and my shoulder holster with gun just in case. We left the car,
closing the doors quietly and went and easily broke through the brushwood
fence that surrounded the property. I thought a man like this would have
had alarms set about the place, but Ferdie had assured me that there wasn't
any in the grounds. It was only fifty yards and we were soon there beneath
his balcony. There was about five foot of planted flowers before the walls,
but we weren't worried about leaving footprints as we trampled the blooms
as Colin and Donald coiled their ropes before swinging the irons two or
three times before letting them go. The two hooks sailed up and over to
land with dull thuds that even we could only just hear, let alone anyone
else outside. I just hope it didn't wake the occupant of the room, if, as
I'd been told, he slept with the French windows open.
The ropes were pulled taut and gathered until the irons hooked
themselves under the balustrade. A couple of tugs to make sure they were
secure, and then Colin and Donald climbed up quite quickly with me close
behind. I was glad the ropes had knots in, for I knew I was out of shape
and these knots helped me with my footing. Tracey stayed below to cover our
retreat, or at least warn us if anything happened outside whilst we were
inside.
The windows were open as predicted but it was all gloom inside compared
to the wan moon and starlight outside. I gave a quick flash of the torch
towards the bed I could see and confirmed that it was indeed Bee Bee,
gently snoring away in his bed.
I got out the first ampoule and fitted it into the syringe and at a nod
from me, the other two pounced on him, covering his mouth and startling him
into wakefulness. This I soon changed by jabbing the needle into his arm
and within seconds he went limp. Not exactly limp, but incapable of giving
us any resistance as he was dragged out of the bed and found that he could
still stumble along when held up.
We got him out onto the balcony and he was propped up with his backside
against the balustrade. I didn't like his choice of pyjamas one bit.
`How are we going to get him down?' Colin asked.
`Easy,' I said, and put my hand to his chest and gave him a shove. Over
he went and we heard him land with a thump in the middle of a flower bed.
`What if he broke his neck?' Donald asked.
`Well, I'd have to cancel half my plans,' I said, not caring whether I'd
broken his neck or not in his fall.
`You stupid bastards!' came the hissing voice of Tracey. `The cunt
nearly landed on me!' I jumped in quick for I had an idea what they might
say in reply to this.
`Shut it! Don't say what you are thinking,' I said to them.
`How did you know what I was thinking?' Colin grinned at me.
`Is the Pope Catholic?' I countered.
`That's why he was a captain,' Donald said as he gave Colin a thump,
`and you stayed a private.'
`Okay. Fix the other rope so that we can retrieve it,' I said as I went
down the other one with Colin right behind me. Donald dropped our hook over
the edge and pulled up the other rope and released the hook and used the
rope in a loop so that he could get down and still collect the whole thing
when he was down.
`Did I break his neck?' I asked Tracey a little hopefully.
`No. But it knocked the wind out him.'
`Right. You carry the ropes and they can get him to the car.'
`What are you going to do?' Tracey then asked.
`Give the orders and watch that they are carried out. So you've been
told what to do, so do it.' I got a scowl, but he gathered up the two ropes
and hooks and followed Colin and Donald as they had Bee Bee upright between
them for him to stumble and be half dragged across the grass to the gap we
had made when we entered the grounds.
The driver of the car had the door open for us when we got there. I
never did find out his name, and our victim was pushed inside and we then
all got in and the car was slowly turned round to move off. If he had been
a member of the squad he would have got a rocket from me, for the car
should have already been turned for our getaway, but he wasn't, so I
didn't.
`Take it easy,' I said to him. `We are well within our time limit,' and
I sat back quite pleased with myself and the lads of course, for pulling
this off without any alarm being given.
We were still ten minutes ahead of schedule when we got to the airport
and half carried Bee Bee to the plane and got him inside. I left the ropes
and irons with the driver and got into the plane with the others and we
strapped ourselves in for the take off.
Oh shit! I said to myself. I had forgotten that I had intended to blow
his safe but hadn't allowed any time for it. That was why I was a walking
bomb. So be it. I would just have to go back later to do that after we had
delivered him to London.
It was a smooth ride and we soon coasted in to land at Nassau and had
permission to run up to the private hangers that were on the perimeter of
the airfield.
There waiting for us was a sleek jet with its steps down and we drew up
as close as we could. We got out and I let the others manhandle our captive
out, who was mumbling as he was led up the steps. I liked the look of the
interior of the jet. It had twenty seats and what looked like cabins at the
rear. There was also a couch which was perfect for us as they made Bee Bee
lie down for me to give him the second injection which would, I hope, knock
him out for the duration of the flight. He went out like a light and was
then strapped down. At this point, the pilot captain came up to me.
`I'm not quite sure what you are doing Mr, er...'
`Kane. Marcus Kane,' I told him. `You have been hired to fly the
plane. You do your job and I'll do mine. I'm sorry to be so brusque, but
this man is a dangerous and wanted felon. I'm taking him back to get his
just desserts. There are four of us to look after him so he is no danger to
you, the aircraft or any of the crew. I've hired this aircraft in all good
faith, but if you want the British Government to step in and commandeer it,
please say so, for I would rather keep this on a purely friendly basis. I
must add that I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far. Are they by
any chance, bedrooms back there?'
`Yes sir.'
`Just what the doctor ordered. Myself and my wife have had two very busy
days. The yacht we were on was blown up and we finished up in the sea. We
were lucky to survive. I then had to apprehend this criminal at great
personal risk. I, and my wife are very tired and would like to sleep the
whole way to London. My two companions here have had the advantage of
having had nearly seven hours sleep in the last twenty four hours. Me,
three. So could we please be friendly and get us airborne to London and let
me go to bed?'
`Yes sir,' he said as I sat down in the first seat looking most
weary. He disappeared into the cockpit and a sweet looking thing came to
give us the take off procedure, or should I say crash procedure. Take off
was just seat upright and belt up. Crash, well, that was a different
matter.
We took off on time and soon were cruising at some fantastic high
altitude and quickly came into daylight as we were served breakfast, which
was excellent. I then asked the stewardess if I could speak to the captain
again. She went off and a couple of minutes he came into the cabin.
`I'm sorry to trouble you when you are working captain.'
`No trouble sir. The second officer is quite capable.'
`Please sit down.' He sat. `I desperately need a few hours sleep but I
must speak to London. Privately. Do the bedrooms there have a phone of some
sort? Can you patch me in?'
`Of course sir. But I would advise you to be circumspect in what you
say. It is radio and therefore can be monitored by just anybody.'
`Thank you for the advice. I'll go back now and if you can get me linked
up to a London telephone exchange, I'd be most obliged.' He got up and the
stewardess came and showed me and Tracey to a bedroom. It looked
luxurious. It wasn't that large, but it was a bed in a plane and there
wasn't much room to move about, but it was a bed. I climbed onto the bed
and so did Tracey. There was a tinkling from the bedside phone and I picked
it up.
`I have a London exchange for you sir,' the pilot said, and I then got
the tinny voice asking which number did I desire. I gave the woman the
number I had on my false visiting card.
`Royal Exchange,' came a nice female voice, `how can I help you?'
`I'm sorry I don't know your name, but the operation is over. My name is
Marcus Kane and I would be most grateful if you could transfer me direct to
Spencer.'
`Hold the line sir.' I waited a minute or two before the line
crackled. `Spencer. That you Kane?'
`That was the name I gave, yes sir. I am at the moment, I don't know how
many miles above the earth on a radio phone, so I cannot really say what I
want to.'
`Understood.'
`I have with me the bird that flew the Manor.'
`What?'
`You heard. I have him. I need an ambulance to meet us at Heathrow at
about seven o'clock in the evening your time. He's not injured. Just
sedated.'
`Well done Kane, well done. Report to me as soon as you get in.'
`I beg your pardon sir. I'm on convalescence leave. I'm going straight
back out to finish it.'
`Oh. Well you've got six hours then to write out a report. Give it
to...well, I think you will recognise the man. Give it to him when you
land. I'll make sure he's there with the ambulance.'
Fucker, I mouthed at the phone.
`Well it's good news you've given me, but I have some bad news to give to
you.' I gave out a groan. `The Boyle brothers have skipped bail. They were
under observation but managed to dodge them. The word on the street is that
they were headed for that part of the world you have just come from.'
`Shit!' I couldn't help saying.
`Exactly. Now whether they were going to see who you've got or gone
looking for you, is anybody's guess.'
`On quick thinking, I would say yes to the first. If it's the second,
then you've got a serious leak, and I'm not really a qualified plumber to
sort that kind of problem out.'
`Point taken. You take care when you get back there then. Good luck, and
again, well done. Your plane will be met at Heathrow as you want.' The line
went dead and I lay back on the pillow and gave out a groan.
`What's up? I couldn't hear what he was saying to you.'
`The Boyle brothers have skipped bail and London believe that they are
headed for the Bahamas.'
`Oh shit!'
`That's exactly what I said.' I then jiggled the phone's cradle and the
second officer answered.
`I'm sorry to trouble you again, but I need to make another two
telephone calls. One to London and the other to Nassau.'
`No problem sir. Just keep hold of the phone and I'll get the exchanges
for you. London first?'
`Yes please.' and so I waited until we got connected. `Tracey. Be a
darling and get the other two in here to hear this.' Tracey got off the bed
and went out into the main cabin and was back within a minute as Colin and
Donald crammed into the limited floor space. `Sit on the bed, it's more
comfortable. I've got to tell you...Hello, yes,' I said to the operator and
gave her Charlie's number. `We, well you won't be getting off it
seems. We're all going back...Hello? Charlie? Look, I've got Colin and
Donald in here to hear me say this. Now this is an open line, do you
understand? Right. Okay. Now we will be landing at seven this evening, your
time at Heathrow and will take off at eight. Now get yourself and as many
of the squad that you can to catch this flight. Full combat gear except, I
say again except, weapons. Bring whatever you can for I don't know yet what
we are going up against. Just to say that the Boyle brothers are at the
bottom of it. What? No. All you need are your passports. Yes. Be at the
airport by seven. Right, see you then,' and I then let the line get clear
and jiggled the rest again until the second officer came on again. `That
was fine. Can you now get me Nassau. Thank you, yes, I'll hold.' Then I
turned to Colin and Donald. `Well the Boyle brothers are on the loose and
believed to be either going to find that prat we've got out there, or
me. There is also another scenario and that is they might have got wind of
who we are, or have done, and are hoping to take over. Whichever way we are
looking at it, we are going back with the rest of the squad to get this
settled once and for all. Are you in?'
`Yes sir,' they said in chorus with grins on their faces.
`Well done lads. Now if you want to have a sleep, take turns and use the
other bedroom. Okay, push off, I've still got some other calls to make
before I can get some kip.' They left the cabin and then I had Tracey start
in on me.
`Marcus! You're tired. You need sleep. Can't you do this later?'
`Just one more call and then I can sleep darling. You can hold me in your
arms and tell me...Yes, right. Get me Garibaldi's in Nassau.' I then had to
spell out the name and hope that I got it right. I then waited another
minute and a voice came on the line that I thought was the young man we saw
the first time there.
`Get the boss man to the phone now! It's urgent! It's Kane
speaking. Tell him that.' I waited about another minute before I heard the
receiver being picked up. `Samson?'
`Yes.'
`This is Kane. Look, another problem has cropped up. This one we started
is fine, but it's another one that is developing. There are two men that we
think are either just arriving, or soon to arrive, or even have landed for
all I know.' I then gave him the best description I could from my once
seeing them in the Rose and Crown pub in Whitechapel. `Now they could be
alone or with others. Can you put some people out at the airport to spot
them and see where they hole up. I'll cover all expenses. Also see if they
try and recruit any hard people, how many and so forth. If they've already
landed, put some people to try and find them. I know it's a bit vague, but
they are trouble. Now we will be leaving London at eight their time. I'm
too tired to work it out, but you should be able to find out when we
arrive. Okay? Have a car waiting for us and we'll have a meeting with
anybody who has sighted them in my suite at the Hilton. Yes. Good man. See
you soon.' I got a quick brief kiss from Tracey as I lay my head back down
on the pillow and he replaced the phone as I fell asleep.
