Chapter 14

Adi was so excited. He'd never flown by air before because when he went to
France as a kid they travelled by the Eurostar train. The thought of
visiting America also thrilled him and he was jumping up and down like a
kid for most of the week leading up to the day they were leaving. He and
Adam had gone out and bought him a suitcase and he just loved the one
they'd got. It had four wheels on it and he could move it around with just
one finger even when packed. What he particularly liked was it was similar
to Luke and Adam's.

"Luke can push them along either side of the wheelchair" Adi said laughing.

"Yeah, in your dreams" Luke laughed looking at the three cases standing in
the hall ready to go downstairs.

"How about you take the cases down Adi whilst I lock up and bring Luke
down" Adam said instead.

Adi trotted off with the three cases and said he'd meet them downstairs.

"Have you got your passport Adi?" Adam called out after him.

"Yeah I have; I'm not that stupid you know!"

Luke and Adam laughed and kissed again before finally locking up and
setting off.

"He's really excited isn't he?" Luke giggled as they went down in the lift.

"Yeah, he sure is; and so am I" Adam added giving Luke yet another kiss.

"Got two gorgeous guys with me; what more could a guy want?" he added as
they moved out of the lift into reception.

Liam was on duty that morning and gave each of them a big hug and a kiss.

"Have a great time and see you when you get back end of February; I'll keep
an eye on the apartment for you."

"Thanks Liam; see you" they all called out as they climbed into the waiting
taxi which was to take them to Heathrow Airport.



Once at the airport they were helped with their luggage and having gone
through check-in, passport control and had Adam's wheelchair x-rayed along
with their hand luggage, they were soon sitting in the first class lounge
tucking into the food and drink on tap. Adi was still so excited and kept
jumping up and down to look out of the window to watch planes landing and
taking off. Luke and Adam grinned at each other and were happy for him.

"He really has fitted in well, hasn't he?" Luke commented when once again
Adi shot over to the window to see the next plane land and take pictures
with the new camera he'd bought for the trip.

Adam smiled and agreed. They had been lucky really that things had worked
out so well for all of them and Adi was certainly part of the family unit
now.

Eventually their flight was called and the attendant called them over to
board before the other passengers. Having got themselves settled into their
seats and the wheelchair safely stowed away in the cabin, which Luke always
insisted on, they sat back and watched their fellow passengers
embark. There were one or two rather nice looking guys getting on and the
three of them enjoyed viewing them up and down as they made their way to
their seats. One of the flight crew was also rather dishy and Luke was sure

sitting beside each other and Adi was across the isle but only an arm's

The flight went smoothly and Adi tucked into the food served at various

loo. The flight attendants were very helpful and did all they could to make

Luke was glad when they finally landed at Miami and he could get off. They
made their way to the transfer lounge where James had said he would meet
them.

"Hi guys" Adam suddenly heard James call out as they entered the lounge. He

James then led them to transport that would take them to the other end of

into the cabin.

"The luggage has been transferred so we are ready to leave as soon as
control give us the go ahead" James explained, "Randy is the co-pilot and
he'll be flying us but I need to be with him for take-off so once we're
airborne I'll come back and get you guys some drinks."

James then disappeared into the cockpit and left the other three to enjoy
the freedom of the private jet. Once airborne, James re-appeared and
offered everyone a drink.

"I'm really looking forward to staying for Christmas with you guys; it's
very kind of you to invite me"

"No problem James; you're more than welcome and we'll have Rafael and Kamol

Within no time they were in Key West and the luggage had been

When Adam woke up the following morning, Luke appeared to be still asleep

When he'd showered he went into James and Adi leaving Luke to himself. The

"I presume he has too many memories in this place" James added, "His
parents so loved being here and Luke had some great times here".

Adam agreed but said he's got to somehow get over it and move on. "It is
two years now since the accident".

"I see he's back to using the wheelchair; I was expecting him to be using
crutches like he was when he left last year" James commented.

Adam explained what had happened, "Just a temporary improvement I'm afraid
and I think that is part of the problem as well".

"Is there anything we can do?" Adi said looking very concerned.

"Luke will come round in his own time so don't worry Adi".

Adi wasn't so sure and felt he should do something but he took Adam's lead
and they cleared up the breakfast things and went outside.

outside. Adi looked up expectantly but Adam just shrugged his shoulders and

Adam hugged Luke and Adi did as well, "We must get you to the doctor and
see if you can be given something to help I think. You can't go on like

see I am fairly weak really".

"That's not true Luke and you know it" Adam admonished him, "You've done
remarkably well over the past two years".

"Yeah, only with your help" Luke replied sorrowfully.

"So what; I love you, we both love you and will do all we can to help you
through this".

Eventually Luke stopped sobbing and sat up, "Perhaps we shouldn't have come
this year" he added.

"We could go to Miami earlier if you wanted; I'm sure James would be
willing"

Luke thought for a moment, "No, I've got to get over this as you say;
perhaps I should sell this house and find another place in the sun."

Adam was shocked to hear this since he thought Luke loved the house and its
location but he could understand the reasoning.

"Well, why not think about it and we can discuss it when you're feeling
more yourself. In the meantime why don't we get you up?"

Without replying, Luke let Adi and Adam help him into the en-suite. Having
had a pee they then got him into the shower and left him to shower himself
whilst sitting on the seat. Adi and Adam went back into the bedroom to make

"Is he okay?" Adi said still looking very worried.

Adam smiled and hugged Adi, "Yeah, I expect so my love".



When they were finally downstairs and Adi had got Luke some coffee and
toast, Luke asked where James was. Adam explained he had gone into town and
would be back for lunch.

Adam looked at Luke and noticed a change. He'd lost the sparkle he'd always
had and which had attracted Adam to him. He wondered whether it would
return at some point and pondered what he could do. 'Thank goodness I've
got Adi' he thought to himself as he looked at Luke's nakedness lying out
on one of the sun beds. Whatever his mood, he still had a gorgeous body!
