Chapter 28

Marcus felt a dull pain in his face; he rolled over and onto
something. Whatever Marcus rolled on started to wiggle and started to push
on his chest. Marcus opened his eyes and saw Leah laying there, her feet on
his chest. She was half asleep, the sun was blinding him and Leah kicked
him in the face again as she rolled to JW's side.

Marcus sat up in bed holding his nose; he was laughing and saw Kira laying
there as well. JW rolled his head to look at Marcus and slowly opened his
eyes wider. JW pointed down to his girls, "Sorry dude, I should have said
something. They still do that a lot, you put them to bed and wake up in the
morning and they are sleeping on your head."

JW reached over to his phone and looked at the time, "Its almost 10:00am, I
guess I need to get them up as well and get to the hospital." Marcus
climbed out of bed and walked into the shower. JW just wanted to enjoy the
time with his kids, but knew he had to get up to his ex.  Marcus climbed
out of bed and woke the girls up, they were exactly like him and definitely
not morning people.

Slowly Leah and Kira climbed out of bed and JW walked them out of the
bedroom into the living room. JW saw his parents with Luke on the floor; he
was sitting there playing with a few large spoons from the kitchen.

Donna looked up to him and shook her head, "Good morning John, why are you
only wearing your underwear?" JW looked down and completely forgot he
didn't put on shorts.

Hank looked at him and started laughing, "Still can't think before noon?"

The girls started to laugh and pointed at him. JW jumped the couch and
landed next to the girls and asked if they wanted to watch cartoons? The
two girls cheered and asked for their favorite cartoon. JW turned the TV on
and went through the channels until he found the Cartoon Network.

Donna glared at JW, "Your still wearing underwear?"

JW shrugged and looked down to his daughters, "Do you care if I sit here in
my underwear and watch cartoons with you?" The girls shook their heads and
JW looked back to his mom and shrugged.

Marcus walked down the hallway and saw everyone in the living room. He felt
really out of place and ducked into his office, but it was too late. Hank
called out, "Good morning." He quickly walked out of the office trying to
look like he had a reason to go in there.

Marcus walked up and put his hands on the back of the couch and looked at
everyone, "JW you realize you're in your underwear?"

JW leaned his head back and looked up to Marcus with a smile, Leah did the
same thing and said, "We don't care." Marcus laughed and walked into the
kitchen.

JW stood up, "Girls I am going to shower real quick, I want you to hurry
and get dressed we are going to see your mom in a little bit."

Leah cheered and Kira folded her arms across her chest and frowned. JW
looked to his mom and she said, "We will get them ready." JW turned and
walked to the shower.

JW thought about his daughters and how nice it was to actually spend some
real time with them, it was rare he could see his kids any more than just
for a few fleeting seconds the last eight months. JW dried off, hung his
towel and walked into his bedroom to get dressed. JW walked down the
hallway and saw his son walking around the living room, everyone was
watching him with beaming smiles. He ran up to him and dropped to his
knees, Luke staggered towards him. Luke tripped on his own feet and did a
face plant, the living room was filled with gasps. JW scooped him up and
Luke clinched his arms tight to JW and giggled.

Leah was dressed and waiting at the door, Kira had obviously not budged and
looked like she was not in the negosiations mood. JW looked to his parents
and pointed at Kira, Donna just shrugged, "She has something to tell you."

JW sat down next to her, "What's going on? Don't you want to see your mom?"

Kira frowned even harder, "No! I want to stay with you."

Leah came running up, "Kira, lets go! I want to see mom."

JW patted his hand down for Leah to sit next to him, she jumped up on the
couch and grabbed his arm, "Come on lets go."

JW wraped his arm around her, "We have a few minutes." He looked back to
Kira and smiled, it felt good to hear his daughter say she wanted to be
with him.

JW wrapped his arm around his daughter and pulled Kira closer, "So why do
you want to stay here?"

Kira grabbed his arm with her hands, "I miss you. I want to also see
grandma and grandpa!"

Marcus, Hank and Donna gave a collective, "Awwww" and JW smiled harder.

JW reached with his hand and pulled her chin to look at him, "Well your mom
really wants to see you today and I promised her that I would bring you to
see her. So will you do something for me and just for me?" Kira nodded her
head and JW said, "Well even if you don't want to go see your mom, will you
go with me? Will you go for me?" Kira thought about it and then nodded her
head.

JW pointed to her clothes bag, "Then get dressed so we can go."

Kira ran down the hallway and Leah pulled at his arm, "Can we go as soon as
she is dressed?"

JW nodded his head and looked to his parents, "Have the kids eaten yet?"

Donna nodded her head, "Yes, they were up pretty early with us. Sorry about
letting them bother you this morning."

Marcus laughed, "Hell they didn't bother us. Besides I can tell by JW's
face that it was a good thing." Hank nodded his head and was following Luke
as he crawled around the living room.

Kira bounced out of the room and everyone piled into two cars. JW, Marcus
and the girls into the Infiniti. Hank, Donna and Luke went in their
car. They drove to the hospital and walked into the hospital together. JW
asked everyone to sit in the waiting room and he grabbed Luke, "You guys
stay here, girls you come with me. I do not know how long we will be."

JW walked down the hallway and the girls followed behind him. Marcus sat
down and looked over to Hank and Donna who looked anxious, "So what do you
two think about what happened yesterday?" They both looked at him and shook
their heads.

Marcus and JW's parents talked about the kids, his ex-wife and even their
relationship. Marcus told them that JW had a new lawyer and he personally
knew her. Hank and Donna started to ask questions that Marcus could not
begin to answer and he finally admitted to what they were planning. With
Connie having a drug problem and knowing that will not play well in any
court.

It was not to long before JW walked back out of the room with the kids and
looking rather angry. Leah and Kira ran to their grandparents and everyone
stood up to start walking doing the hallway.

Donna asked how Connie was doing and JW rolled his eyes and shook his
head. Kira answered for him, "She didn't want us to see her. She looked
really sick and then she got mad. But daddy told her that we were to see
her and that we really wanted to see her, and thatÉ"

JW interrupted her, "Ya baby, but your mom was happy to see you, she is
just really sick." Hank looked to JW and reached his arms out to take Luke.

Again the cars were loaded and Marcus pulled his car next to Hanks, "Where
do you guys want to go?"

Hank shrugged and JW looked over Marcus to his dad, "Did you guys bring
anything to swim in?"

Hank looked to Donna and they both nodded their heads, JW looked to Marcus,
"The lake here in town has a beach. We could go there and let the kids go
swimming?"

The girls started to scream in excitement and Marcus said, "Ok, then we
will head back to our house and then get ready to head down to the beach."

Marcus asked JW to explain what happened with his ex, JW clinched his fist,
"That fucking bitch! She would not have anything to do with the kids. Of
course Kira just stood behind me the whole time, Luke is to young to know
anything but Leah had her heart broken. There is more to it but we can talk
about it tonight."

Marcus nodded his head, changed the radio station and with in a few minutes
there were back at his house. The girls were in a flurry trying to get
ready, Hank and Donna asked about things to bring, Marcus grabbed a cooler
from his garage and filled it with water bottles, snacks and fruit. Marcus
told JW to grab beach towels for everyone from the master bathroom. Again
everyone piled into the cars and they started down the road to the lake,
the door to the garage closed and JW looked at his phone, "Wow fifteen
minutes! I would have never thought that was possible."

JW opened the rear door on Infiniti and grabbed the cooler, beach towels
and a bag filled with sun tan lotions. Marcus looked at him, "You want me
to take that stuff and you grab Luke?"

JW shook his head, "Nope you get him."

Marcus opened the door and Luke turned his head and looked at him
quizzically. Marcus reached in to the car seat and picked up Luke. Luke
wiggled and fussed for a few seconds and then grabbed onto Marcus
chest. Hank and Donna were already on the beach and the girls were sitting
there in the sand waiting for them.

Hank looked at Marcus carrying Luke and turned to Donna, "Well I guess we
are just going to have to get use to it. But I just can't bring myself to
accept the fact that our son is a fag. It's breaking my heart."

Donna looked at him and gave a faint smile, "Do you love him?"

Hank looked at the sand, "Well of course, I justÉ"

Donna interrupted him, "Then what does it matter? John having those kids to
get them away from Connie who is a drug user is a thousand times more
important than John being in a gay relationship. Besides Marcus is a good
man and at least he is not obviously gay or over powering."

Donna flopped her hand in the air and JW walked up looked at her confused,
"What is that about?"

Hank and Donna started to laugh when Hank snorted, "Oh we are just coping
with everything right now and making fun of you two." JW shook his head and
set down the cooler, towels and bag.

JW spread out a towel and Marcus set Luke on the towel and peeled his shirt
off. Donna sat there looking at Marcus smiling, "Well the beach was not
that bad of a idea after all."

Hank shot his eyes to her and then took his shirt off. JW watched his dad
and Marcus size each other up; his father short, grey hair, balding and not
fat but it was obvious he never spent a second in a gym for the last thirty
years. Marcus tall, lean, defined and full head of black hair looking down
to Hank.

Hank shrugged, "I can see this isn't going to go well, I am staring
straight into your abs right now."

JW's girls were down in the water with his parents. JW and Marcus had Luke
on the edge of the water, it took almost an hour but finally Luke warmed up
to the lake and started to enjoy it. He took Luke back to the towels and
sat him down. Marcus walked up after going to JW's parents first to tell
them they were heading to the towels. He watched Marcus walk up the beach
to him, he was obviously posing his best for everyone watching, of course
none of them had never seen someone that tall and the combination of his
amazing body and killer looks, all eyes were locked on him.

Marcus laid face down on the two beach towels laid together so he could
stretch out on them and turned to JW, "Man do you realize how amazing you
look in your white swim shorts. I had no clue you had those, I would have
asked to see them earlier."

JW started laughing, "Well I am pretty sure everyone was looking at the
front of your black shorts!"

Marcus smiled, "Almost everyone was watching you till I walked up here by
myself, I am going to have to get use to not getting all the attention."

He shook his head and laid down on his side propping his head up with his
arm, "I am not doing another show with my parents here." Marcus looked
confused and JW hinted at the underwear store. Marcus started to laugh
hard. Luke was crawling around the towel and then he laid down next to
Marcus and rolled on to his stomach.

JW looked to Marcus who obviously didn't know what to do and just smiled,
"He likes you."

Marcus asked about how long Luke should lay in the sun and JW shrugged and
then open the cooler lid so Luke lay in the shade. Marcus reached down and
ran his hands down Luke's back and looked up to JW, "Man I envy you so bad
right now. I never wanted kids till this morning."

JW grinned, "Why is that?"

Marcus shrugged, "Well I have a dark history, but I really do love kids. I
just never thought I would be a good father and the whole countries
attitudes towards gay families."

Marcus stopped talking for a couple of high school aged girls to walk by,
"But you changed that. You are all daddy business around your kids, but you
are also always thinking about them as well. Its just really awesome to see
your kids wanting to be with you and your so desperate to be with them as
well. It makes me want to have kids."

JW smiled and reached his hand out to grab Marcus and gave it a quick
squeeze, "What's stopping you? You were adopted also could you adopt a
kid?"

Marcus shook his head and let go of JW's hand, "Doubt it in Texas, they
would never go for that here. Maybe in California or New York." JW sighed
and they fell silent. JW reached into the cooler and pulled out a bottle of
water and filled up a sippy cup, then JW sat Luke up and gave him the cup.

JW laid back down, "Well what if you found a girl that would be willing to
be a surrogate? Not saying Nick, but someone like Nick?"

Marcus rolled over on his back, "Well that is an option but Nick would
never do that, I think she would eat her young." They started to laugh and
JW rolled over on his back.

The sun was blocked suddenly over JW's face, he turned to look but he did
not recognize the silhouette. He sat up and it was a woman, she was wearing
a white bikini. The woman walked to where she was in front of JW now and
said, "Hello, is that your son there?"

JW nodded his head, "Yes this is one of my kids, this is my son Luke."

Now in front of JW he could tell she was very pretty, in great shape and
had an amazing face to match. She asked, "Where is his mom at?"

Marcus started to laugh and took his hands to his chest. She looked over at
him with a confused look and Marcus rolled over on his side and propped his
arm under his head to watch the show.

JW said coolly, "We are not together any more."

The woman looked surprised, "You said kids, are your other kids here with
you?"

JW smiled and pointed at the water, "You see the older couple in the water
with the two little blond girls?"

The woman turned and spotted them, "Yes?"

JW smiled, "My parents are in town and the girls are mine as well. The
oldest is Leah and youngest is Kira."

She turned to him, "What beautiful names. By the way my name is Maria."

JW stuck his hand out to shake her hand, "I am JW and this is Marcus."

Marcus nodded his head, he was interested to see where this was going to
go, it was obvious she was hitting on him. Marcus pointed down to the
towel, "You can sit down if you like."

She thanked him and sat down, with her legs in front of her and arms behind
her, she pushed her tits out and smiled. Marcus sat up to look at her as
well, he thought to himself why do gorgeous women always have to be so
short?

The three of them made small talk for a while until Maria revealed why she
came over, "Well I am here with my friends today, we all took today off
work. Anyways we have been looking at you two since you got here and at
first we thought that you two were just friends but now we are not so
sure." Maria trailed off and was looking at JW.

JW shrugged, "Well, we are friends."

Marcus rolled his eyes, sighed and laid back down looking up into the
sky. JW just passed her first test. Maria's smile widened, "So you have a
girlfriend?" JW shook his head.

Maria was now grinning, "Well one of my friends over there thought she saw
you two holding hands for a few seconds. But I told them you were not gay,
you look nothing like gay guys."

Marcus started laughing, rolled over on his stomach and looked to JW, "Why
don't you ask if he is gay? Because that is not what you asked earlier."

Maria's face suddenly went blank and she was looking at Marcus, "He just
said you are friends?" Maria looked to JW, "Are you gay?"

JW looked to Marcus and his eyes were on fire, Marcus started laughing
harder, "Well JW are you gay?"

JW turned his head to Maria, "Actually I am not gay, I am bi. I find beauty
in men and women."

Marcus was rolling on the towel laughing, Maria looked confused and JW put
his hand on Luke to make sure he was not feeling overly hot. Maria with a
frown asked, "So you two have sex?"

Marcus sat up, still catching his breath from laughing, "Actually we do,
and you would be shocked at what gay acts we commit on each other!"

JW took his hand off Luke and looked at Maria, "Dont speak like that in
front of my kid. Now does that bother you? That we have sex with each
other?"

Maria looked at both of them, "Well no, but. Its just a waste," she pointed
to Marcus, "You are so hot, and that body of you have is incredible." She
looked at JW, "You're the hottest guy here and the fact that your here with
your kids just makes you cute too. That is hard to be both." Maria asked if
her other friends could come over, Marcus stood up and waved them over.

A few seconds later there were five other girls that were sitting with
Maria, each one introduced them self and smiled. Maria informed them that
Marcus and JW were actually dating each other and one of the girls gasped,
"Told you so!" For the next few minutes the girls asked every possible
question that could be asked.

JW could not keep up with how fast they were talking and Marcus was getting
annoyed and thinking to himself that is yet another reason to not like
women. Things with men are always much more simple. JW looked down at the
beach and saw his parents walking up, he thought to himself that he owed
his parents for saving his ass from the horde of girls. JW made the quick
introductions; Hank and Donna looked confused, Leah and Kira could care
less but they were sunburned and tired.

Marcus took a brief moment of silence as a great chance to make a get away,
"Well I hate to break everyone up here, but these girls have to get out of
the sun. Time to head home." The girls cheered and JW looked relieved. The
pack of girls left, JW packed up the towels and everyone headed to the
cars. This time Luke was packed away with JW's parents and the girl's road
with JW and Marcus. On the drive home JW asked the girls how they liked
their day on the beach?

They were talking over themselves in excitement. As Marcus drove down the
street to his house and opened the garage door JW's phone rang. JW rolled
his eyes and didn't answer, "Not going to ruin this moment yet. I will call
her back in five minutes."

As everyone climbed out of the car Kira looked at Marcus and said, "How
tall are you Marcus?"

Marcus smiled and kneeled down, still looking down at her, "I am 7'5", how
tall are you?"

Kira shrugged, "Why are you so tall?"

Marcus stood up and shrugged, "Bad luck I guess."

Kira smiled, "I wont be as tall as you. I would never want to be as tall as
you."

JW laughed, "Don't be worried, very few people are as tall as Marcus, now
go inside and shower girls, you smell like frogs!" The girls screamed and
ran inside.

Marcus turned to JW, "Was that your ex that called?"

JW nodded his head, "Let me call her right now."
